the last I heard, they approved enhanced licences for Ontario residents, like they have in BC. I'm hoping this means we don't have to get them.

Hi,
We are in the same vote. We are crossing at Buffalo without passports, and flying from there. WE had no problems last year at all. The date as of right now, is Jun 1st, 2009. So you should be good.

From now until May 31, 2009, you can still cross the border into the US by car without a passport. If you enter the US by air or ship, you will need a passport. On June 1, 2009, you will need a passport if entering by car.
Here are a few websites with information on border crossings:

not sure how all this is playing out, with the controversy, but check out www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2008/07/07/f-rfidlicences.html
there are a lot more stories if you search ontario enhanced licences, but no say on whether or not they will be passed.

I have a Nexus pass and I know that it is linked to both my Canadian and UK Passports (though I don't need to travel with them) but I am wondering if you can have and use that if you don't have a Passport?:confused3
Wondering..
