Best Digital Camera?

I am looking for opinions as to the best digital camera out there with these guidelines (in order of importance):

1. Small and lightweight - I want something I can keep in my purse all the time
2. Under $250
3. Highest pixels for the money
4. Reliable, with decent support
4. Red-eye reduction
5. Blur "reducer"

While I will be using this every day to capture those everyday magical moments with the family, I will also use it on vacations.

I recently got a Nikon Coolpix s610. It's compact but takes really nice pictures. I got it on sale for $200.

You might look at the Panasonic Luminx series. I have tested them and they perform very well. I personally have a sony cybershot that shoots great outdoors. Unfortunately they all perform somewhat poorly in low light conditions. I also have a nikon coolpix and kodak point and shoot. Stay away from Kodak.

Good luck. Shop all the major stores and shoot as many practice shots to see what you think.

I stopped by Costco today. I shop at the one in Merrillville, In. I bought the Panasonic TMZ5 from DELL for about $265. Costco had it for the same price with a $30 rebate. It came out to about $230. I thought that was a pretty good price for what you get.

I would go with any Nikon coolpix i got mine one year ago and now i have a nikon d 40

I have a Panasonic Lumix (DMC-LZ7). I got it last year and I love it!

It takes firework shots, arial shots, snow shots, and a bunch of others. I was very impressed with the firework shots I took at Disney - much better than the ones I took with my previous Panasonic.

If I remember correctly I bought mine at Best Buy and it was less than $200.

5. Blur "reducer"
Much of this comes from technique. You need to keep the camera as still as possible when taking low light shots. It's doubly difficult if both you and your subject are moving. This is true of all cameras. Reading up on technique would go a long way.

If it'll be the first time you're doing any reading about photography technique, Kodak puts out a nice book called something like The Most Basic Book of Digital Photography and it's sold in bookstores.
