I am looking into renting a 3b/2b vacation home for my family's vacation. I see alot of homes in the Davenport area. Is this close to Disney? or a long drive away? Has anyone stayed in the area?

The Davenport area is on Highway 27. It is approximately 15 - 20 minutes from Disney on a good day and a lot more on a bad !

Rental prices can be cheaper in this area as a result.

Some GREAT GREAT homes, that aren't too much $$!

Our home is at Hampton Lakes on US-27 which is slightly further (one mile max.) than Davenport Lakes and it takes us 12 minutes to reach WDW. There's a map on my site which will give you an idea of the area.

Interstate 4 is the quickest way to get into WDW since there are dedicated exits off I4

...and no, it doesn't have to be a good day, with a following wind and no other vehicles on the road to get there in 12 minutes.

Malcolm,
I've known it take over an hour for folks located on US 27 to get to the parks. It doesn't happen very often but it can do, particularly in the Summer, Easter and Christmas.

We just returned from our first stay at a rental house in Davenport. It only took us 10 minutes to get to the gates at Disney. It was a quiet and relaxing area. Most of the homes we saw there were new.
We had rented a 4 bed 2 bath with a pool. Very clean and cost less than an All Star hotel at Disney!! If you're interested email me. I'd gladly recommend this house to anyone. thefishfam@hotmail.com
