Layout Challenge #11

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and got lots of new scrapbooking goodies.

For this challenge we are going to do a sketch challenge.

We will use the same guidelines as the previous challenges. Entries will be due Wednesday, January 7th by midnight EST. The entries will not be judged but will be entered into a random drawing for a cool prize. (still to be determined)

Oooooh! I like that sketch! I have actually been scrapping lately so I'll have to give this one a try. I also need to get to Staples to pick up a notebook with grid pages in it - good suggestion on Donna Downey's blog to use it for sketches.

Yes, most of us use photobucket so it's easier to work with!!! Welcome aboard..can't wait to see what you come up with!!! I have a ton of ideas going through my mind right now...but I've now got to get kids ready for bed and the cheese/cracker dish ready for DD's BB tournament tomorrow.... I think I'm going to take some photos and some sketches and magazines to pass the time tomorrow... :)

Thanks! I just was looking at some of the older challenges and I saw some of your submissions! That "Brothers" page for the monochromatic challenge was beautiful! :thumbsup2 I always feel so bad using a whole 12 x 12 page for one picture but I'm really getting into it with this book I'm working on now. I'm using a lot of handmade pieces that are of pretty good size - and naturally take forever and a day to make - so we'll see how long my patience holds out... :rotfl2: Thankfully I have 15 hours of Disney music on my iPod to keep me going :lmao:

I tried this challange and it isn't workin' for me! I never realized how many pictures I take with the camera turned!
I have no horizontal pictures right now...or I should say what i am working on. So I did a different version of this......I will post later tonight. Waiting for DD to come home to finish the journalling part.

The great thing about sketches, is that they are versatile. Turn it 90 degrees. Vertical pictures!

I have the pics and layout in my head, now I just have to find the time to actually do the pages (2 pager) before the deadline. I have to rush how, do the pages, take the pics, upload it here, all in a very small amount of time as I am having dinner with a friend and we get chatty so i wont be home till bedtime.

I was coming on to say it didnt happen for me last night! I am in the middle of reorganizing the scrap room (blame it on the other thread), so i got a good chunk of desk clean before my plans last night, but I still have organizing to do before I can scrap again!

my original sketch for this layout was way different and I had the picture of Bruce and my son as a 4x6 instead of a 5x7 on a diff page. But this sketch challange and rearranging the pictures really turned out way nicer than I could have hoped.

While you were there did you sign up for their internet mailing list? I went last night on my way home and I did. So now I can use their coupon and then go to Michael's with their own coupon...I hate to pay full price.

I've been on their e-mail list for a while now. It's great getting the coupons e-mailed. I just print a couple of them and keep them in purse if I need one. We don't get the newspaper so I never get them from there. I've use ACM coupons every where. I just used one the other day at Joann's for 50% off. Yep, I hardly ever go in there except if I can't find anything at ACM or Mike's. They have some cute Disney papers or Disneyish papers that ACM and Mikes' don't have. I actually found there the replacement blades for my Fiskar trimmer that I couldn't find anywhere else. I think they have about 1/2 an aisle of scrapbooking stuff. They only thing they seem to have a good amount of is the DCWV stacks. Which BTW they have on sale for $8.99 starting on Sunday. Although it says it's the value packs so I'm not sure which ones those are. But I picked up their flyer that has a 50% off coupon on it.

Oh no! I did the layout, took the pic, but forgot to upload it!

Oh well, it got me done with Halloween, so that is defiantly not a bad thing!
In fact I have actually begun my Christmas layouts. That is a huge deal since I always lose focus in January and so I still have Christmas 2006 and 2007 to do, plus Christmas 2008. My goal is to finish 2008 this week, so i can get started on those!
