Our Honeymoon was December 6 - 14.

Sorry if I ramble a lot, but that is something I always do. Some places we forgot to take pictures. Here are all the places we ate:

Beaches & Cream - Lunch
Ohana - Breakfast & Dinner
Fresh - Breakfast
Cape May - Dinner
San Angel - Dinner
Yak & Yeti - Lunch TWICE
Coral Reef - Lunch
Yachtsman - Dinner
Liberty Tree - Lunch
Jiko - Lunch
Teppan Edo - Lunch
Garden Grill - Dinner
Brown Derby - Lunch
Narcoossee's - Dinner

Let me know if you have questions about any of these.

**Editing to add a little more info**

This was at least my 15th trip to the World and my husband's (Larry) first vacation ever - they never took vacations when he was a kid. He had been to a local amusement park before but didn't have a clue what to expect here.

We spent the first 3 nights at The Swan, then we moved to SRR for the remaining 5 nights. When we moved to SSR we started the Deluxe Dining Plan. We decided to splurge since it was our Honeymoon. Also I wanted to vist many resorts so Larry could experience the Christmas decorations.

The wait didn't seem too long, maybe because we were looking around and full of excitement since we just arrived. We were seated at the counter. I've read so much about their burgers here over the years that I just had to try one. Larry went with the Roast Beef Sub. We both had milkshakes.

We have a few pictures of the grill if anyone is interested.

We both enjoyed our picks. The burger would have been better if they had pickles though.

Dinner Saturday night was at Ohana. I have to add here that Larry wanted to ride Splash Mountain again before we took off for dinner - this was to use our Fast Pass after we waited about 90 minutes to ride BTMRR which had a posted wait time of 20 minutes. After we realized how long the line really was we figured we may as well wait it out. When we first got in line for BTMRR I was telling Larry how cool it is to ride it in the dark. By the way, this was his first trip to the World. So just before we were ready to get on the ride I told him he was in luck because he got to ride it in the dark after all. After this ride we rushed over to Splash. This time instead of the last row we got the front row. HUGE mistake for a large woman to be placed in the front. I knew as soon as they said the row number that we would be getting soaked. Sure enough we did. We worked our way over to Ohana soaked.

This actually worked to our advantage. But we were soaked and cold by this point. When we arrived about 10 minutes late they gave us our beeper and we waited. While we waited Larry took tons of pictures.

The wait was worth it because we were seated at a window table with a perfect view of the castle.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_1719.jpg
The salad was really good. As you can see I forgot to remind Larry to take the picture until we ate a good bit of it.

Sticky wings and Pot Stickers - I LOVED the pot stickers and Larry LOVED the wings

Larry says "finger licking good wings."

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_1728.jpg
Noodle bowl - I didn't like it because it was too sweet.

And we didn't take pictures of anything else.

As I said earlier we had a great view of the castle and of the fireworks. It was all I could do to NOT tell Larry that we would have a great view of the fireworks from our table when I finally realized we would still be dining when the fireworks went off. It was magical!

As a surprise I ordered a chocolate cake for dessert for our first Honeymoon dinner.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_1731.jpg

This was an 8" cake that had to be custom ordered because I'm allergic to eggs. Sadly it looked better than it tasted. Larry didn't think it was too bad but I did. Maybe I was expecting it to be more like a real cake. We should have taken a picture after we cut the cake.

Thank you all for the congrats and nice comments.

No, we did not get married at WDW. We were married at home in a small ceremony in July and waited until December for our Honeymoon to hit cooler weather, hopefully smaller crowds and to see Christmas decorations. I picked the wrong week for our Honeymoon because it was a little too cool for Larry and the parks were pretty busy. But we still had a good time.

Let’s see if I can give you a little more detail about the actual food today. Guess I was too tired last night to give you enough details.

Sunday morning we had breakfast at Fresh at the Dolphin. Sorry but we have no pictures to post of breakfast or dinner today.

We were seated right away when we arrived. The waiter gave us a run down of how their buffet works. We both went to look around and decide what we were going to eat. The juice bar intrigued both of us so we decided to try one of each. They were all surprisingly good. The beet juice was my favorite. I really wish we had taken some pictures. Since I’m allergic to eggs my breakfast items are a little limited but there were enough selections that I was able to have a full breakfast.

I had potatoes that were wonderful, also oatmeal, toast, bacon and a few other small bites here and there. Larry doesn’t eat eggs at home because he won’t bring them in the house because of my allergy. So he got some French toast and an omelet. He said it was the best omelet he had ever had, even though the put spinach in his after asking them not to. If you want toast here at Fresh you have to ask the server to bring it to you. The toast comes out on a plate with a 3-sectioned dish with jellies – strawberry, orange marmalade and another neither of us can recall but may have been grape. We did make notes but can’t seem to find them now that we have unpacked. We would definitely recommend this breakfast.

After breakfast we headed off to the Studios for the day. We were so busy and so full from breakfast that we never even ate lunch.

Dinner was at Cape May this evening. I had read mixed reviews on the boards and wasn’t sure if we should eat there or not. But just before we left someone posted pictures from this buffet and Larry saw their ribs and wanted to go ahead and give it a try. We are both glad we did.

I do not eat seafood or fish but there were plenty of selections for me to enjoy. Sadly they had removed the prime rib by the time we ate here but the beef they have replaced it with was good. It wasn’t prime rib but it was good. Thankfully they still have the horseradish to go with it. The children’s mac & cheese looked so good that I had to try it. It was one of the few things I had two servings of. Their baked chicken was wonderful, very moist and flavorful. The veggie selections were great as well. The only thing I didn’t like was that I didn’t find any salad dressing in the salad section. Larry enjoyed the ribs – ribs are probably his favorite food of all time. They had the best muscles Larry said he has ever had. At first he wasn’t going to try them because he has never really liked them anywhere else, but loved these. We both decided that we would have an after dinner drink. Larry ordered a Bluetini and I can’t remember the name of the one I got but it was a chocolate something. Both were good and Larry liked his glowing ice cube.

After dinner we went to the marina to catch our boat for the IllumiNations cruise. We didn’t eat any of the snacks they provided but our Captain did offer us to take some back to our room. We took back some chips, pretzels and two Cokes.

When we got back to our room at the Swan we had a small bottle of sparkling wine and two wine glasses waiting for us. We were so cold from being out on the boat that we both jumped right in bed and decided to save the wine for Monday night. When Housekeeping came on Monday they refilled the ice bucket again. There was also a note from the staff congratulating us. That was very sweet!

Monday we slept in a little because breakfast at Ohana wasn’t until 10:55. I had tried daily to get an earlier time but there never was one available. We arrived about 25 minutes early and were seated just before our reservation time. While waiting Larry roamed around taking more pictures. Side note – we came home with nearly 2,300 pictures. I’m glad he had such a great time and enjoyed taking so many pictures. We also had our picture taken with their photographer.

Finally our table was ready and we were starving. This was Larry’s first character meal and it was with his favorite character Stitch.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_1997.jpg

When Larry first saw Stitch he light up like a little kid. It really was magical. It makes me all warm and fuzzy every time I think about it.

When we were seated the waitress went over my allergies and offered to have the chef come out. After a little while we saw the chef roaming around our section and then he went back into the kitchen. This was when we realized he didn’t know which table he was looking for. A little later he finally came up to us and offered to make me some egg-free waffles. Our skillets came out separate so that mine would be completely egg-free. The potatoes were cooked very well and had a great flavor. We were both impressed with the sausages. They had a great taste and weren’t too strong. The waffles they brought me were good as well even though the texture was a little grainy in spots. I couldn't eat the breads or the fruit because of my allergies but they looked good.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_1991.jpg

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_1992.jpg

Larry said his waffles and eggs were very good.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_1966.jpg

The juice was very good and not too acidic. I can’t have citrus but I decided to try a little bit of it and really enjoyed it. I drank the entire glass and it didn’t bother me.

After breakfast we were off to Epcot.

Dinner wasn’t until 8 so we decided we needed a little something for lunch. We went to Sunshine Season’s for our lunch because I wanted to try the Roasted Beet Salad so bad. It was delicious. There was just enough dressing on the salad. The nuts were a great contrast to the beets and goat cheese. It was perfect for a light lunch.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2142.jpg

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2144.jpg

Shhh, don’t tell anyone but Larry wasn’t full enough for a full size meal so he was very bad and ordered a kid’s meal. I know, I know. He ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2143.jpg

He says it was okay. He got the small chocolate milk to go along with it.

When we stopped by the dessert section to see if we wanted a dessert they gave us two cookies since we were on our Honeymoon. Larry saved them both for later in the day and breakfast the next morning.

Dinner was at San Angel Inn Sunday evening. I know lots of people don’t like this place but I had been once before and really enjoyed it. I think sometimes people expect the Mexican food we get at home and that is why they are disappointed.

I ordered the filet. It was good but could have had more flavor. My cheese wasn’t completely melted. But I would eat this dish again. I love the plantains. All of the components worked so well together. The sauce on the bottom really complimented the meat very well.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2233.jpg

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2234.jpg

Larry didn’t really get to choose his dish here. Some of the ladies of the DIS wondered what the Duck with the berry sauce was like and couldn’t find any reviews of the dish. So we volunteered Larry to try the dish and take one for the team. ;-) After reading the description of the dish he agreed. He was so thankful he did! Besides being presented beautifully the dish had a wonderful taste. The breast was so tender that you didn’t even need teeth to chew it, but it wasn’t mush either. It melted in your mouth. Underneath the sliced duck breast was shredded duck. Larry said the berries were more than just a garnish, that they were a perfect compliment to the duck. He says it was somewhere between chicken and beef. The duck was even more tender than my steak. He said this is tied for first place as his favorite dish.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2232.jpg

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2235.jpg

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2238.jpg

This was the perfect dish for Larry because he isn't really a veggie fan. But later you will see where we had a little change in this.

He is still telling people about this duck dish. I think he wishes we had gone back for another round here as well.

We weren’t on the dining plan yet and we didn’t get dessert.

Larry’s take on San Angel: “I loved it all, the scenery, the atmosphere, everything. The people were friendly. The food was the best part, it was awesome!”

What we learned here and at other restaurants including Yak & Yeti is to try something a little different, not what you would usually get at home. It paid off! You have to keep your mind open and really experience the "local" flavor. I know I played it safe with the steak but I had it last time and loved it so much I just had to get it again.

On the way back to our room last night (Monday) we stopped at the Boardwalk Bakery to pick up a few things for breakfast this morning since Tuesday was moving day. We had a little to snack on then we checked out and headed over to SSR by a Town Car. After we checked in and left our bags we were off to the Animal Kingdom. It was after 10 o’clock when we got to the AK so we had to push back our 11 o’clock Yak & Yeti lunch until about 2 o’clock. We were getting hungry so we split a double cheeseburger.

After a while we finally made our way over to Yak & Yeti. I have to say this was another reservation I had considered canceling after reading how many DISers were unhappy with their food. But we decided to give it a shot after all.

This was our first meal on the Deluxe Dining Plan. For appetizers Larry ordered the Pot Stickers and I ordered the Lettuce Cups. The Lettuce Cups were something I’ve wanted to try at local restaurants but was just afraid to spend the money on. But since I knew I would have more than enough food to make up for it if I hated them I decided why not.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2550.jpg

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2551.jpg

If you have the slightest idea you might like these order them. My husband who is not a veggie fan and who will only lettuce in a Caesar Salad LOVED these. He loved them so much he ordered them when we went back later in our trip. To maximize the dish you really need to include all of the ingredients. The only warnings I have is that the meat filling is rather hot so you should put some of the cold veggies on the bottom to protect your fingers. The other warning is that you will eat too many.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2548.jpg

These pot stickers are very close to the ones at Ohana’s. I think I liked Ohana’s just a tad bit better though.

When it came to the entrée I had difficulty deciding between the Baby Back Ribs and Beef with Broccoli. Here is where the decision to go outside of my normal boundaries came into play. I do NOT like ribs. They are too messy and just don’t taste good enough. Well Larry was torn between the Ribs and the Mahi Mahi. I told him I would order the ribs so he could try them as well. Boy was I glad I did! They were amazing. There was just enough sweetness and the meat was perfectly cooked. I was able to take the meat off the bone just using my fork.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2553.jpg

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2554.jpg

The rice was very good as well. The slaw only had one bite by me because I wasn’t giving up any room that could go to the rice or ribs. As you can see Larry helped me to eat the ribs and he enjoyed them as well.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2560.jpg

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2565.jpg

On to Larry’s entrée – the Crispy Mahi Mahi. He had never had Mahi Mahi before so he really didn’t know what to expect. Our server gave this dish high recommendations.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2555.jpg

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2556.jpg

The colors of this dish are so beautiful and vibrant. As you can see above in Larry’s rib pictures the fish completely disappeared from his plate. This dish is tied for first place as his favorite dish. He said he can’t pick a favorite between the Crispy Mahi Mahi and the duck at San Angel Inn.

We were both so full from our lunches but thought we would eat a little dessert anyway. I asked if I could have half a serving of the wontons. Sadly they would not let me get only half a serving. I was too full to attempt to eat the entire thing so I was trying to “protect” myself. You can see my fat rolls here and I was trying to keep them from expanding any more.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2573.jpg

These were SO good. The sauce wasn’t too sweet. Everything was a perfect compliment to one another.

Larry decided to try the Sorbet.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2570.jpg

He liked the Mango the best. I tried the lemon and it had a very fresh and not overly heavy taste.

Larry’s take on Yak & Yeti: “It is very beautiful on the inside, they have statues, displays of art that are really nice, dark wood, light paint to accent as well as friendly wait staff along with a low noise level make for a really good atmosphere. The food was some of the best that I’ve ever had, not just in the parks but over all. It doesn’t look that way from the outside but it’s really sharp on the inside and it’s about the best value of any table service restaurants that you will find on Disney property. And unlike some table service restaurants you really get what you pay for, not just in quality and taste, but also in portion. You will leave full. :goodvibes ”

Since the park was so busy we didn’t get to do many things. We never even made it to Africa this day or even beyond Yak & Yeti towards Asia.

We headed to the MK for MVMCP. We enjoyed the hot chocolate and snacks they had available but never ate dinner. Larry enjoyed the cookies and I got the apple slices. The hot chocolate was so yummy.

By the time we got back to our room we were hungry and ready for something to eat but since it was after Midnight everything at the resort was closed so we just went to sleep.

If you are at all considering Yak & Yeti PLEASE try your best to work it in and be adventurous. Like I've already said we enjoyed it so much that we went to eat there twice. What I haven't told you yet is that I cancelled a Le Cellier lunch to eat at Yak & Yeti the second time.

Remember that you owe me. ;) Maybe I'll call that one in by asking you very kindly to go to Yak & Yeti. :rolleyes1 The fried green beans looked SO good but I just had to try the Lettuce Cups instead. I swear they give you too many good options and not enough room in our stomachs! We are now on to Wednesday. You guys are going to think I second guessed every single meal but really it was only three. I forgot about second guessing Wednesday’s lunch until I started to do this review. We had lunch scheduled for Coral Reef. This was another restaurant that I wasn’t big on because of the seafood and fish, but I did want to go to because of the design and display of the restaurant. Well once again we were not disappointed.

Sorry but we forgot to take pictures here too. I think we were just too hungry since we didn’t even have a snack for dinner.

Larry ordered the Sea and Land for his appetizer, Grilled Mahi Mahi for the entrée and the Chocolate Wave for dessert.

I ordered the Mixed Greens Salad with Key Lime vinaigrette for my appetizer, the Grilled New York Strip Steak for my entrée and I honestly can’t remember what I had for dessert. I was going to be too lazy to look back through my receipts but now I’m curious too. I was thinking some kind of Crème Brulee but I don’t see one on the AllEars menu. Yep, I had Crème Brulee. Seemed like I could remember eating it there. I ate so many that they blend together a little. Hehe

The Sea and Land had wonderful tasting polenta. Larry said the shrimp and steak were both cooked perfectly and tasted great. The beef was very tender and full of flavor. My salad was very good and the dressing worked perfectly and wasn’t too strong.

Larry’s Mahi Mahi was good, but of course not as good as Yak & Yeti. Larry always says everything I cook is the best he has ever had. He also says when he tries something that he likes that I didn’t cook that I could cook it even better. But honestly I don’t think anything I could cook for him right now would be better than the Duck at San Angel or the Mahi Mahi at Yak & Yeti.

My steak was very impressive. Generally I am not a fan of a New York Strip steak. I’m a RibEye and a Filet fan. This steak was very tender and full of flavor. The potatoes were cooked and seasoned perfectly and the broccolini was very good as well.

The Chocolate Wave was good but Larry doesn’t like cherries so I got to try one and boy were they strong. He says not to let the portion size fool you. It was extremely rich and even though it was small it still filled you up and was actually the perfect size. It may be too sweet for some.

The crème brulee was great. The caramelized sugar on top wasn’t too thin or too thick. It was great.

Dinner this evening was at the Yachtsman. And sadly again I have to tell you that we didn’t take pictures here either. We only took one picture. Sorry. We were too busy eating. HEHE.

OH, but we did take a picture of our snack in France, which is my favorite thing they offer. The chocolate mousse!!!

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3073.jpg

Never mind what I said about only taking one picture, we took more. Boy does my memory suck!

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3105.jpg

I ordered the Pumpkin Spice Martini. Neither of us are big drinkers, actually we had more drinks on this trip than either of us have had in a few years. I ordered this because I love all things Pumpkin but I didn’t really like this one. It was too strong for me. That’s why I don’t drink often because I don’t like the taste of alcohol.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3106.jpg

But it was a pretty drink.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3108.jpg

There I am taking a sip. Can you see my almost Mickey head brown spot on my left cheek? It actually looked much more like a Mickey head until the little spurt started between the “ear” and the “head”. In my family we call these “Mom Spots” because our grandmother we called Mom had them.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3110.jpg

Larry ordered the Scallops for his appetizer. The scallops were cooked perfectly and had a wonderful flavor – at least that is what Larry said.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3112.jpg

I decided to give the cheese plate a try for my appetizer. You may notice that the blue cheese is gone and I got two servings of the one in the middle because I can’t have blue cheeses. Did you know that if you are allergic to eggs that you shouldn’t eat blue chesses either? I never cared for them anyway. Blech!

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3113.jpg

This is the Waggu Beef, which is what Larry ordered. He said it was good but not as good as he thought it would be. He said he has had bettered steaks at home.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3116.jpg

This is my entrée, which was the T-Bone Steak. It was very tasty and was cooked to my specifications. Most of the steak went back to our room that night in case we needed another snack after midnight. The potatoes didn’t make it back to the room because they all jumped in my belly. I don’t know how that happened. Guess they were that good.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3120.jpg

This was our pre-dessert. Isn’t it adorable? It was wonderful and a very pleasant surprise.

We didn’t get pictures of desserts though and we sadly don’t remember what we had. Sorry.

Okay, I’m off to bed now and will be on Thursday tomorrow, which was Liberty Tree and Jiko.

Can I just say that I want to go back SO bad? It sucks that we will have to wait 2 years before we can go back. We have to save money this year to buy a car because Larry’s is so old and may not last much longer.

Thank you so much for your Coral Reef review, the only reason I booked dinner here for our January trip is because we are taking our 2 nieces with us and I thought they would love the huge tank and that would occupy them while we ate (since they eat like birds). DH and I are planning on ordering what you are Larry did, now I can rest easy!

Glad it helped. You are welcome. I would take a little something extra to occupy their time. If they are like our nephews they won't stay occupied by them that long. Have you thought of checking in a little early to see if you can make sure you get a table at the window? I think that would best for them.

I had that Pumpkin Spice Martini in September of 2007 at the Pop bar. I thought it was good but not as wonderful as I had been hoping. It needed more pumpkin to balance the spice. I thought the nutmeg/cinnamon/clove was too strong.

EXCELLENT reviews. Just one thing...
Stop putting yourself down! You and DH are adorable, and will be a cute couple. I love your kittycat t-shirt.
My DH wants to eat at Coral Reef in Nov.-Dec., just for the fish tanks. He is 'eh' about (eating) fish, but loves seafood, I don't like either, and my nurse, the third in our party, likes anything. We are doing dxddp. Does the food rate a lunch or dinner, or is DH going on the Living Seas twice instead?
We're trying Yak and Yeti because you and DH had such a good time. I love cream cheese and pineapple, so the dessert you had sounds heavenly.
Keep up the great work!

Thank you! We had lunch at Coral Reef because I've just got too many favorite dinner spots. If you have other restaurants you want to try for dinner make this one a lunch. Like I said the steak was very good.

I'm so glad to hear you are going to Yak & Yeti. I hope yours is as good as ours if not better.

Sorry but no new reviews tonight. We babysat our 4 & 6 year old nephews. We can't believe how good they were tonight though. It was almost scary. The 6 year old watched Lilo & Stitch then Dinosaur. The 4 year old kicked me off the computer so he could play the games on the "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse". I didn't mind letting him so that he would stay out of trouble.

If I don't get one on tomorrow I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year!!!

Thursday morning (ugh, it sucks all over again to think of how close were getting to the end of our trip) we were scheduled to have breakfast at Chef Mickey’s at 7:30 but we called the night before to cancel. We just aren’t bug breakfast eaters and we wanted to sleep in. That day it was raining and rather cool. We took out our ponchos and headed for the Magic Kingdom. We kept thinking we should have put on more clothing. We were cold and our feet were getting wet. There weren’t many people out because the weather but we decided we would eat lunch at the Liberty Tree Tavern then head back to our room for a while. I think we took a nap, but don’t remember. After a while we headed to the AKL for dinner at Jiko.

Let me get even a little more sidetracked here. I’m so happy of this picture that Larry took that I just had to share it here for you all to see.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_2623.jpg

Isn’t that awesome? He is such a great photographer. As you have already seen, he took most of our pictures. He loves to do it and he does such a great job that he is now our “professional photographer”.

Like I said, it was rainy and cool out so this turned out being the perfect lunch location for us this day. I ordered the Tavern Fried Cheese, New England Pot Roast & the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake. Larry ordered the Crab Cake, William Penn Pasta & Three-Chocolate Brownie.

Sorry that we didn’t take any pictures here. We were just too cold to think of anything besides heat and warm food.

The fried cheese was very good. I like the fact that they offer you two kinds of cheeses instead of just mozzarella. The cheddar cheese curds were very yummy! I could eat a lot more of those. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this yet but I am a very picky eater and I’m a foodie so there are some dishes I just won’t order out. Generally I will not order a pot roast out because sometimes they are just blah and sit heavily on my stomach and have a nasty after taste. But since it was so cold and I saw some others plates of this dish I just had to try it. The plates they were bringing others looked and smelled SO good. I was all set to get the Pilgrim’s Feast. Boy am I glad I got the pot roast. It was perfectly cooked and the gravy was seasoned perfectly. The meat was very tender, you didn’t need a knife to cut it. This was the perfect dish for a cold rainy day. Now I don’t know that I would order this on a hot summer day though even though it was so good. The dessert was good too but I was too full to eat it all.

Larry enjoyed the crab cake but said mine are better. I buy them at Lowe’s Foods pre-made from their meat counter and throw them in the oven for 10 minutes. How can it be anything I do? He is so silly. Night before last I got him some crab cakes when we went grocery shopping and he heated them this time. He said they weren’t as good as when I heat them. See how crazy he is? He did NOT like the succotash because it was cold. He was expecting the succotash to be warm. We had a discussion about how neither of us had ever had succotash before and about the different variations we have seen. In my family it always included tomatoes and okra. I always tried to avoid it because I don’t like okra.

Anyway, he liked the crab cake and ate it all. He said the pasta was awesome. He said he definitely wants to go back to get the pasta again.

We had to ask for bread to be brought out to us. I don’t know if this is the normal here or not. We were starving since we skipped breakfast and didn’t sleep in too late.

Jiko ended up being a few pages long in Word so I'm breaking it up over a few posts.

After looking at the pictures I realized that after our nap we headed to the Studios to see the Lights before heading to Jiko. If I had a memory I would be dangerous!

We got to the AKL early enough to look around and enjoy the Christmas decorations and the atmosphere. When Larry walked through the door it was all Oooh’s and Ahhh’s coming from him. He just loved their lobby. Maybe we’ll have to stay here next time. After he took pictures and roamed around a bit he found me sitting by the fireplace/pit. We saw a photographer by the Christmas tree and decided we would get our picture made here but would do it after dinner – mistake. When we came back upstairs after dinner the photographer was gone.

We checked in at Jiko and were seated within 2 or 3 minutes. If you have never been here you need to at least stop by to see the wine rack inside of Jiko. It is such a pretty display.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3369.jpg

Our server was Ron who was originally from Pakistan. If he wasn’t the best server of the trip he was right up there. He had a great personality and his timing was perfect. He took care of every need we had but didn’t make us feel smothered. When he brought out the warm hand towels I just wanted to curl up with one. The Rose Water on them smelled so good and the warmth felt so good and I wasn’t even cold at this point. My husband still hasn’t completely gotten the concept of a warm hand town before dinner. But he did a little better with it here compared to dinner at Ohana.

Larry ordered the Ostrich Appetizer, Kenyan Coffee BBQ-Braised Beef Short Ribs and the Tanzanian Chocolate Cheesecake. I ordered the Samosas, Filet and cheese plate.

Have you ever been here? They have such cool “birds” hanging around the room. I just had to stare at them.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3356.jpg

Look at how cool they are!

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3358.jpg

I just need to say that I’m hungry right now and nothing here at home looks near as good as anything I’m seeing in my pictures. **sigh**

Ron saw the camera on the table and told us to hang on that he would be right back. He took the things he was carrying to the back and came back to take our picture together. I thought that was very nice of him. I wish we had thought to do that at other restaurants.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3359.jpg

Can you tell we weren’t exactly ready at the second he snapped the picture? Oh well.

We even took pictures of the place setting because we thought it was cool. The forks were a little heavier than most of the other Disney restaurants but really were a good weight. We have heavier forks at home and just love them because they don’t bend or get messed up!

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3360.jpg

Here is the Ostrich Filet.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3361.jpg

After reading the description on the menu I don’t think Larry could tell it had cherries in it because he never said a word about them. He says it was a little tough and chewy because it wasn’t cut against the grain. He said it had a good flavor. The sauce worked very well with it and really added to the flavor.

Over the years I’ve read about Samosas but never had the opportunity to try them until this night.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3362.jpg
Eeyore is eyeing my food. Look! His mouth is open and right at my plate. :scared1: I'm going to have to have a talk with him! :rotfl:

These were so wonderful. The corn was very sweet and crisp. The dipping sauce was a great compliment. YUM!

This is so wrong that I’m looking at all these pictures while hungry because now I can even start to smell the food again. EEK!

Larry went out on a limb and ordered the Short Ribs because he does not like coffee at all but had read good reviews of them here on the boards and wanted to give it a shot.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3363.jpg

He says they were wonderful and only had a very slight hint of coffee. He says “really, really, really good. Very tender, juicy, melt in your mouth.” So I think he would highly recommend them to anyone.

I do not like wine and can’t have it either because of my allergies so I asked for the red wine reduction that comes with the filet and mac & cheese to be kept on the side. This fact made it difficult to get a good picture of the dish.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3364.jpg

The mac & cheese is rather washed out, sorry about that. I know I wasn’t brave and didn’t go with and exciting different dish. But after reading so many reviews about this dish and seeing Samantha Brown talk about it being her favorite dish there I just had to try it. Well, it was okay. It wasn’t anything great or outstanding. It was good though, don’t get me wrong. It just wasn’t anything to make a special trip back for. Next time we eat there I’ll be more adventuresome and try something else. I guess the red wine reduction makes a huge difference. I did try a small bit of it but I just didn’t like the sauce at all.

After dinner Ron brought us a complimentary Pistachio Crème Brulee. We dug right in and forgot to take a picture. OMG!!! This thing was AWESOME! It IS worth a trip back to Jiko for. This was the dessert I had planned on ordering because I love Crème Brulee but I was concerned as to how the chocolate layer on the bottom would blend with the rest of the dessert. It was perfect. It wasn’t a heavy dessert either. YUM! I want one right now!!!

Larry decided to go ahead and eat another dessert and I decided to get the cheese plate to take back to the room for later in the evening. I didn’t have any room and I knew I couldn’t get the Crème Brulee to go.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3366.jpg

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon/100_3367.jpg

The separate items in this dish are absolutely best when eaten together. They were both good, although the ice cream was a bit too strong alone for me. It is amazing how the chefs can come up with such great parings that really compliment one another so well. At first Larry took a bite of the cheesecake and wasn’t overly impressed. But when he tried it with the ice cream he thought it was wonderful. Another discussion we had a few times on our Honeymoon is how well Disney brings ingredients together and compliment each component when the components are just okay on their own but together they are WOW.

One thing I forgot earlier is that shortly after we were seated the staff brought us a congratulations card. That was so sweet!

Having a WDW vacation to plan alleviates post-trip depression. In spite of all the problems of travel (I have muscular dystrophy, so we haul powerchair, ventilator and my nurse), DH has promised a Nov.-Dec. trip, and agreed on the Grand Floridian. I think it was the food that sold him!

I didn't know about the magnet pins, I like the sound of them. We've got t-shirts and bridal ears so it is going to be a blast!

Mom and Dad are paying for our accommodation which is a huge wedding present so the least we could do was take them somewhere really nice for dinner. We loved the theming at AK and Boma was brilliant, so we thought Jiko was a good choice.

The other one was Victoria and Alberts but I'm not sure that it is really 'us'. There are a lot of things on the menu that we wouldn't eat too.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!

We are going to TRY to go back at the end of January next year!!!

That is unless the crowds decide to all attend then too.

I'm SO excited!!! We are going to try to do all we have to and this. YAY!!!

I am so glad for you! Another trip! That is what keeps me going when life gets me down - planning for the next trip to WDW! Check out the budget board for tips on how to make that next trip a reality. Great tips over there!

BTW, looking forward to the rest of your reviews!

EXCELLENT!
Oh-- my nurse ordered EXACTLY the same meal your DH did, and he thought it was heavenly.
I'm loving your reviews.

It sure does! When I told my sister this evening that we were trying to plan a trip then she said that is when they want to take my nephews (currently ages 6 & 4) back. OOOHHH!!! I can finally go on a trip with the boys!!! That is so thrilling. I've wanted to see it through their eyes. I couldn't stand the fact that I didn't get to go with them the first time they went.

I hope you have an awesome trip! What dates are you looking at? The second week of December is PACKED. Well it was last year. I couldn't believe how crowded it was.

Love your Reviews...I'm so excited about our honeymoon trip...I wish it would get here already!:rolleyes1

It will be here before you know it. Just make sure to take time to enjoy every single second of it. Take time to just sit together and take it all in.

Sounds like you are going to have such a wonderful time! We wanted to eat at V&A so bad but it isn't really 'us' either. We tried to get the Chef's Table but it was booked up. They do have a lot to see!

Thank you. The shirts were from the Disney Store over a year ago. They had them on sale for about $2 each. I really wish I had bought more. They are so comfortable and soft.

Thank you!!!

I'm going to try to get up more reviews tomorrow or at least this weekend. This week just hasn't been very productive for me at home. We are doing year-end stuff at work and I've been trying to get a ton done. I've been super tired this week and I've had to rest a bit more than usual. I've got Fibro like some of my other DISer friends and this weather here is really bad for me right now. The weather is also making my arthritis act up. At least I know it will get better when it warms up. Enough of that babble.

We only have 5 more reviews to do:
Teppan Edo
Garden Grill
Brown Derby
Narcoossee's
Yak & Yeti again

We are finally making it to Friday. That sucks because that means we go home all over again in only two days. *sigh* By now I think you have caught on that we aren’t big breakfast people so we didn’t have breakfast again this morning. We slept in a little and took off for Epcot to have lunch at Teppan Edo. YUM!!! This is another of my WDW must do restaurants. I don’t know what it is about their rice but to me it is some of the best in the world.

Our reservation was for noon so we slowly strolled through World Showcase on our way for lunch. Larry got some really cool pics of some of the buildings on the way to Japan. Apparently they don’t start serving lunch until noon so they were just getting started when we got there.

Here is the other dining room.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3493-1.jpg

And here a are a few others of the waiting area.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3495.jpg

This young man was apparently there on a field trip like other kids we had seen that day. His parents should be proud of him. He was looking for some take out food and was so polite to this lady. His manners were incredible! Not something you see very often in kids anymore. She didn’t really understand what he was looking for so we told him about the CS just outside. Why can’t more kids be as kind as he was?

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3496.jpg

Such a relaxing atmosphere.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3499-1.jpg

Notice the napkins? I’d love to sit in here for a while just to watch them.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3501.jpg

The staff came out to welcome everyone to Teppan Edo. I missed it because it was time to empty the bladder yet again. If you ever need to know where a restroom is on WDW property I’m the person to ask. I’ve got the smallest bladder in the world. I’ve always thought that the Epcot restrooms should be a bit more technically advanced. Don’t you?

This restaurant has some very cool bathrooms! If you don’t eat here you should at least stop by to check out the restrooms.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3505-1.jpg

I can’t imagine their cleaning regimen to keep these so shiny and clean.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3506.jpg

Larry ordered the Shrimp Cocktail and I got the Tempura App. We also ordered the Sake Sampler. Have I already mentioned we aren’t big drinkers? We don’t usually drink but thought we would try a few things on our Honeymoon. Somehow we didn’t take a picture of the Sake Sampler. One was good and easy to drink but to me the others were too harsh. I think the only drink either of us really enjoyed and could drink over and over would be the Peach Tea Slushie in China. OMG! I could drink those things every single day. YUM. Have I already told you about it? I’ve got a picture of me sucking one down if you want to see it.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3509-1.jpg

Larry got my shrimp since I forgot to ask them to sub something. The Tempura was okay but nothing special.

For the entrée I ordered the steak and Larry ordered the chicken & shrimp combo. The chef we had was very fun. He wanted me to come pose with him for some pics. The way I had my hair pulled back kept his hat from fitting on my head very well but it was FUN!

They were short one piece of chicken, which happened to be Larry’s. The chef was great about it and had them bring another piece out as soon as he caught on to it but Larry’s chicken was a little late to the game.

My steak had a great flavor, as did Larry’s chicken. He said the shrimp was good too. Of course the rice was YUMMY! As you can see they now offer 3 sauces instead of just one. One is a mustard base, one is like shrimp or white sauce you get at home and I think the other was a ginger soy sauce. I only ate the shrimp sauce as I don’t like the others. Maybe I got the combo with chicken too. I believe I did.

For dessert I thought about ordering nothing because I do not like the taste of ginger. YUCK! I take ginger pills daily for my stomach and for inflammation and can’t stand the taste of it. My sister suggested crystallized ginger – nope, just as nasty. Anyway, I didn’t want just ice cream or the fruit tart, actually I don’t remember the fruit tart being an option. I thought I would be brave and try the Green Tea Pudding. The times I’ve tried green tea I just didn’t like it. It seems to have a bitter taste to me.

This is what it looks like. Didn’t look very appetizing to me but I was brave and took a taste. Have I mentioned that I have texture issues?

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3520.jpg

Can you believe it was good? I really enjoyed the taste and the texture wasn’t so bad. I would definitely recommend this and I would order it again. It was very light and tasty. I was extremely impressed.

Larry ordered the ginger cake and it came out with two umbrellas on top for our Honeymoon. Aww. Yep, we saved the umbrellas and bought them home with us. At first Larry didn’t realize they would close.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3521.jpg

This was a pretty dessert and did only have a hint of ginger but it wasn’t something I would order. I have to say the chocolate really did help take the bite of the ginger out. Larry thought it was great.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3522.jpg

As you can see the person beside of Larry also ordered the ginger cake. Actually I think everyone at our table who got dessert got that.

So this isn’t food but it was something you put food on in the Japanese stores. Isn’t this beautiful. I’m still kicking myself for not buying it.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3565.jpg

Ever want to think about the candies you saw after you got home? Larry took some pictures so we could. I just wish we had done this in every country.

Doesn’t Japan have one of the largest food sections in their shops? I don’t seem to recall any others being this large except for all the chocolate in Germany. Maybe I’m remembering wrong though. One of these years I would love to buy one of everything in the food section from each country.

Larry decided to get this Strawberry bar. It actually had a very good taste. When we bought this we also decided to get a glass of Plum wine. She asked if we wanted to eat the plum but we declined not knowing if we would like it at all.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3578.jpg

The wine had a very sweet taste and wasn’t bad at all. It didn’t burn my mouth like grape wines do.

He is my husband at the start of his belly-dancing career.

Nope, it has nothing to do with food but I couldn’t help but share it. Hehe When I suggested that he try it on I didn’t think he would do it. He’s so cute!

They also sold Rose Water here that I wanted to buy but was afraid it wouldn’t make it home unharmed. They also had Tagines that I wanted. I think it would be fun to cook with one.

Here are some pictures from Italy.

The Garden Grill is one of, if not my favorite, WDW restaurant. I LOVE the food here. I know it gets a bad rap from some people but I LOVE it.

The salad was very fresh and served cold, just like I like it.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3975.jpg

Yes, my salad is in the bowl you see in the background. My husband decides not to dirty up the bowl and just eat from the serving bowl. Oh my.

The yummy plate of goodness! No, the beef didn’t have the yellow spots on it. I guess the light was reflecting oddly on it.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3976.jpg

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3977.jpg

I’m not really a fan of the beef and I don’t eat catfish but the turkey is awesome. I’ve also had their roasted pork in the past and it was great too. The veggies have just enough crispiness left that make them wonderful. I did let Larry have a little of the stuffing. I don’t know why I love it so much but I do. The mashed potatoes were very good too. The bread is GOOD too. YUM! Okay, I’m ready to go back.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3983.jpg

We did get a few character pictures but thought I’d only post one here for you to see.

Just so you know that after you have meals at your two favorite restaurants you get a little silly. Add to that the fact that you go home the day after tomorrow you get even more silly and just want to be committed to WDW as your own personal psych ward.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_3999.jpg

See? This was as we were getting ready to go on Spaceship Earth. We had passed by it every other time because the wait was 30 minutes or more. Now you know the parks are crowded when Spaceship Earth has a wait! Have you been on it since it changed? I love how they take your picture now! It was very cool. We laughed so hard at our pictures.

Those pics don't do it justice though. I didn't even know Larry took pics of the bathroom until we got home. I was telling him how cool it was and that he should go check it out. Too bad he didn't be pictures of the fixtures, they were real cool.

Yeah, we found that out a little too late. But people said to not worry because they wouldn't bother us too much. I think the secret is out about it being a "slow" time. I really wish we had gone the next week because the crowds and weather were better. But there is nothing we can do about it now.

Saturday rolls around and we decided to go back to the Studios and have lunch at the Brown Derby since we had some extra credits to burn with all those skipped breakfasts.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_4106.jpg

For our appetizers Larry ordered the Coconut Fried Shrimp and I ordered the Market Greens Salad. I really would have liked to see more options on their appetizer list for non-seafood eaters.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_4110.jpg

This was good but not outstanding.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_4111.jpg

The salad was good and everything worked very well together.

For our entrees we both ordered the Grilled Rib Eye Steak. Larry wasn’t happy with the presentation of the steak. He didn’t like everything piled on top of it. Sorry that we did not get any pictures of either steak. We spent too much time talking about his steak. He finally got the greens and potatoes off of the steak and got into his steak, which wasn’t appealing at all. It took a while to get the attention of our server who wasn’t very attentive in the first place. Larry tried a bite of my steak while waiting for the server to notice him. He loved mine. His was just a bad piece of steak. He told the server when he finally came that it had a bad flavor and texture. The server asked if he wanted the same thing or something else because he wouldn’t like the same thing since it is marinated. By then I was getting antsy and fussy. He was basically arguing with Larry saying he just didn’t like the taste of the marinade, not that it was just a bad steak. Hey it does happen. We weren’t upset over that fact, but we did get upset over the fact that the server wasn’t polite and wasn’t listening. Finally I stepped in and told him it was a bad steak, a bad cut of meat that it does happen. So he finally agrees to order Larry a new steak. Who knew it would be so dang difficult?!!? The second steak was perfect.

Finally we get to desserts. I ordered the Pumpkin Cheesecake and Larry ordered the Banana White Chocolate Toffee Tower.

Have I already said how much I love pumpkin? YUM! We just don’t eat enough pumpkin flavored things in our culture. When they had the Pumpkin Coffee Creamers out last year I bought up 4 to have for a long time for my oatmeal at work. Now I have to keep the one in the work fridge hidden so others don’t use it all up.

Here are the pictures of our desserts, starting with Larry’s.

He thought it had a great taste and wasn’t too strong or heavy.

After desserts our now attentive server comes up to us with the bill and points out the gratuity and asks us to let him know which one we will be paying and how we will be paying it. I’ve never been asked that! He wasn’t asking us to simply indicate it on the receipt but he wanted us to tell him right then. So that made his bad service even worse.

After dropping in the Tower of Terror and some shopping we headed for the Grand Floridian for dinner at Narcoossee’s. Am I the only one who has trouble remembering how to pronounce that name?

***IMPORTANT ADDITION*** Do NOT ride the Tower of Terror the day before you go home if you are already afraid of flying. I swear the whole way home I kept waiting for us to start dropping like on the Tower. SCARY!!!

Sorry but we didn’t take any pictures of our dinner here. I don’t know why we didn’t.

For our appetizers Larry ordered the Crab Cakes and I ordered the Crispy Duck Roll. Both of these were nice starters. Larry says the crab cake wasn’t as good as it should have been and the breading wasn’t very good. The dipping sauce with mine was great.

Four our entrees Larry ordered the Steamed Whole Maine Lobster and I ordered the Grilled Filet. Larry isn’t really a fan of lobster but thought he would give it a try. He said it was the best lobster he had ever had. It was very, very rich. My filet was good, nothing outstanding.

Just before desserts the lights dimmed for Wishes. It was amazing to see Wishes again while dining. We snuggled and enjoyed it.

For dessert we were torn. I wanted to try the Almond-crusted Cheesecake that I had read so much about here on the boards but at the same time I really wanted to try the Key Lime Crème Brulee. I wasn’t telling Larry the ones I was torn between because I knew he would order one just so I could try both. So I finally convinced him to tell me which two he was torn between. Luckily we were both torn between the same ones! So we ordered one of each. OMG! They were so good. I honestly don’t know which I liked better. The tang of the Key Lime Crème Brulee was perfect as was the creaminess and the slight crunch to the cheesecake. Both of those desserts were worth making the trip there for the meal.

After dinner we went to the boat dock but the boat was full and the captain was a little rude. So we decided we would head back to the main lobby to look around and then take the monorail. We looked around at all the wonderful Christmas decorations in the lobby including the huge Christmas Tree and the Gingerbread House. I hope it is okay to post pictures of the Gingerbread House here since it is technically food, even though now one was eating it.

Now we are on to our last meal before heading back home. Since we loved Yak & Yeti so much we cancelled Le Cellier so that we could dine here again.

This time Larry ordered the Lettuce Cups for his appetizer. When I told his mom this yesterday she was shocked that her son ordered the Lettuce Cups. I ordered the Wonton Soup.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_4403.jpg

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_4404.jpg

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_4405.jpg

Of course we both enjoyed a lettuce cup. When Larry made his first one it fell apart on him so I told him I would make the next. I like taking care of him anyway. The Wonton Soup had a great flavor. You know how some are rather bland and some are over salty? Well this one was just right. I want some now.

Yes, you will be shocked to see that I ordered the ribs for my entrée. Hehe Okay, yeah I had to have them again before heading home. Larry decided to order the Duck with Anandapur Glaze.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_4406.jpg

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_4407.jpg

The ribs were just as awesome as they were earlier in the week. The seasoning was perfect and just enough stickiness on the outside of the meat. Then the meat just slid off the bone.

Larry said the duck was good but it came nowhere close to their Crispy Mahi Mahi or San Angel’s duck.

Once again for dessert Larry ordered the Mango Pie and I ordered the Fried Wontons. YUMMY!!!

Sadly after lunch we had to head back to our resort to catch our ride back to the airport. We rented a town car and apparently the car we rented wasn’t available so they upgraded us to a huge stretch Limo. Larry had to act uppity drinking his coke on the way to the airport.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i183/ChellsPics/Honeymoon%20Dining/100_4419.jpg

It was an amazing trip and we had a ton of wonderful food. We can’t wait to go back and experience more.

We did have the Deluxe Dining Plan and it was a lot of food but it was good and it was worth it for our Honeymoon.

If I can answer any questions for you please let me know.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments and for reading through this with me.

We do have more interior pictures of Yak & Yeti if anyone is interested.

You are welcome! I think the lettuce cups could be a meal because they give you plenty of meat. We never did finish them. Larry said the sauce on the duck was great.

I loved your reviews they were excellent! :thumbsup2 I also have to tell you that a very similar thing happened to us a couple of years ago at BD! I ordered the Grouper & DH did also. Mine was perfect, but when he took a bite of his, he spit it out & said it tasted gross. So I took bite just to be sure & it was absolutely bad. I mean really nasty tasting! So we called the server over & same exact thing! "I'm sorry grouper is not to your liking sir, can I get you something else?" Now mind you, we have family spread out all over Florida & we've been there many times & have had grouper so we KNOW what it should taste like. We kept insisting that it was bad, not that he didn't like grouper. We finally got him to agree to a new piece, but unfortunately that was bad too.

When we called the server over a second time, he seemed to be getting frustrated with US like we didn't know what we were talking about. He asked to get DH something else, but at this point the rest of us were all done eating so DH said, "never mind just get us the check". So now the manager & server come over trying to insist that DH get something to eat on the house, but we just wanted to leave. They also still kept insisting that grouper was just not to my DH's liking. If they just admitted that yes it was bad, because like you said, it does happen & apologized it would've been fine, but their patronizing tone embarrassed my DH in front of my sister & her DH & it has kept him from ever wanting to eat there again. I can see their attitude hasn't a changed a bit, so I don't think we'll be eating there again anytime soon. :sad2:

Sorry didn't mean to hijack! Just had to let you know, you weren't alone in that BD experience!

You are so sweet! Thank you! I hope you love Yak & Yeti as much as we did. How far away is your next trip? I'd love to hear how their lettuce cups compare to the others you have tried. I've never tried them here at home yet but if they are that good I will have to.

Not a hijack at all. I think it is great to share all of our experiences. Wonder if you had the same guy we had. Last time I ate there with my sisters I had plastic in my salad and they were trying to say it was the way the lettuce was cut, it was the Cobb salad, was looking like lettuce. Sorry but I know the difference. I know what she was trying to say it was because I could pull it off a piece of lettuce to show her but the texture was different between that and the plastic. As soon as I bit down I knew it was plastic, not lettuce. Guess we won't be going back there either. Sorry your husband was embarrassed.
