Warning. This is a whining \ vent post.

I was one of the early customers of XM then later switched to Sirius but tonight I had enough.

I have been teetering with canceling as I have been Ipod crazy for the last 6 months or so and they have kept giving me a free month or radio or whatver so I kept them.

Tonight I find a mysterious $70 charge from Siruis, call them, and they tell me it was from a "free" radio that they had sent me a while back. After agruing with them, asking for a manager (only to be told that there was not one in) I told them to cancel all three of my accounts.

I get the yada yada good customer story etc, but enough is done.

At one time, I could not say enough good about Sat radio but since the merger they have really gone to heck in a handbasket. Stern pretty much says he is out of there when his contract is over, not as much commerical free music channels anymore, plus 13 bucks a month (I was paying about 27 for all three subs) just didnt seem worth it anymore. Maybe I will regret it and sign back up in a few months. Got some extra itunes money now :)

Ok. Wahhhhhhhh. I will quit whining now.

I don't know. I recently went on a trip and listened to Sirius the whole way up. I didn't notice anything different. The worst problem I had was when they took away the Christian Rock station a few years ago, but otherwise it was fine.

That being said, I'm not surprised about this since they now have a monopoly on sattelite radio. I'm hoping for a new company to come up so there is some competition. That keeps these guys on their toes.

I think I'll be canceling ours as soon as the free trial is over. I've had it for several years now, but when we got the new car the kids always want to watch a movie, so I never listen to it.

We got a new car in May, which included 3 months of free XM. We liked it so much that we signed on for another year. With the merger of Sirius and XM, I don't like it as much. The new stations are bizarre, and there are too many advertisements.

We canceled ours back in July. Too many commercials for me to be paying for it.

I listen to sirius online at work for Stern and Sirius Gold. Now that it changed to 50s on 5, they have a DJ! and it stinks!! And I'm not going to pay 12 dollars a month for Stern to go on 2 week vacations and play repeats. So now I just have the Howard TV and listen to other free streaming radios online.

I could never give up my Sirius radio. I have an hour commute to work so I listen to Stern and it makes the trip go by quickly. I have the Stiletto 2 so I can listen to it all day at work and when I take walks at lunchtime. And it's a savior when we make our annual Thanksgiving trip from NY to VA.
