Can you switch resorts after the booking window has closed? We really want to be at Beach Club but with the economic downturn I can't help thinking this isn't the year to splurge. If I could hold two reservations I would just book 4/3 at Moderate as a safety net. I won't know how much we should spend until late Feb. Has anyone been able to switch before 45 days out but past booking window?
TIA

If you look at Disney website they've extended the booking to 1/24/09.

If you are worried about $$ why not get rid of the club level portion of your reservation. You can save quite a bit just staying in a standard view room vs concierge. No need to knock it all the way down to a moderate if you don't have to. Of course there is nothing wrong with moderates but going from BC CL to a moderate is a big change
As far as changing dates after the booking window closes it can sometimes be done but you have to remember that it will be based on availability still. If the resort you are interested in is closed to any bookings with discounts you won't be able to switch. Disney allows a certain % of rooms to be booked at a discount and once they reach that the rest are sold at full price only. You could also run into the problem of the resort you prefer being totally sold out
