That reminds me of what our trees used to look like when we were little, only we had a big silver aluminum tree that was a hand-me-down from my grandfather.

When I first met John, he had a futon and the cushion had the exact same upholstery as your sofa.

I tell ya, the plan today is to clean up this giant mess. All of my gifts fit into one shopping bag and Chris' gifts do too. The rest is the kids. Between 3 sets of grandparents and an aunt and uncle, I am overwhelmed. We decided last night to put a lot of it away for later, the rest will go in the play room.

The sad part is I couldn't even get everything in the picture.

Emma had a baking Christmas. An easy bake oven, a cup cake maker, a Hannah Montana apron and hat, a My First Cook book by Paula Deen.

Did anyone notice our tree in that mess? It's a Donald Duck tree (he's my favorite).

Good luck cleaning. I always loved trying to open stuff to put it away. sometimes opening it takes longer than putting it away; especially those kids toys with wires holding them in the container. Some of them require a Masters degree to open them up.

The tree looks awesome! Donald Rocks!!!

My goodness.....how many kids do you have???? LOL
The person who suggested putting some of the gifts away for "later" is on the right track....with that many toys to choose from kids get overwhelmed and often end up losing pieces or breaking things the first day...(I learned that the hard way)

We have 3 kids, 5y/o girl, 3y/o boy, and an infant. The funny part is the infant only got a 3 or 4 things (we didn't even buy for him).

We are going through the play room and giving a lot of the older toys to Goodwill and making room for the new things.

Well we did it. We got everything put away before yesterday's party. We had Evan baptized yesterday and the family over for food afterwards.

Now I am taking all the holiday decorations down. I am Christmas'd out.

Our living room looked like that when my brother and I were younger, but now we're into electronics, gift cards, and money, so now there is room to walk, and A LOT less to clean up. :)

Well folks, it's done. Everything has been put away. The tree, the decorations, the outdoor lights, everything. And I don't feel bad one bit.

Way to go Jen! :cheer2: Could I talk you into a trip to Indy around the beginning of January? We need all the help we can get with decorations. You know, since you are already done.

Wow Jen, that's a lot!! i think i have decided, for every new toy that comes in, an old one goes out to the garage sale or pass me down pile. at least that will minimize the toy chest. we get a lot of hand me down toys from my sister- between those and new toys from grandma, it is just too much for one kid. He can't even play with it all.

I wish I could take my tree down but the kids want it up until at least New Years :lmao:

I wish you could have seen the box Chris took to Goodwill today. It was larger than a dishwasher box, filled to the rim with toys. Never played with or barely at all. Stuffed toys from theme parks, McDonalds toys, etc. I made sure all the pieces were there and placed them in bags so they would stay together in it's travels. So much stuff.

Normally our tree is up through New Years too. This year I guess I had Chris here and ready to do it, so we just plowed through it.

Our tree goes up just after my birthday, so the 17th or 18th of December, and gets taken down on January 6th, at the end of the 12 days of Christmas.

You did well to clean it all up though! Can you do my room next?:rotfl:

I don't know how many kids you have but I only have one :scared1: Now we get to get more for her birthday in 2 weeks. Will it ever end!!!

We have 3 kids, but only 2 really got presents. We have an infant and he got diapers and some clothes.

My family isn't that big. I have one older brother and he is married with 2 older kids. We put a limit on what we buy but it's still insane.
