Both DH and I are off tomorrow, although he is due to finish at 2am I am sure it will be later! Then I am back at work on Boxing Day, although I did volunteer to work that day.

My bf worked Christmas day, it was triple pay and a total doss (his words!) plus it was only 8-3 so he could still have dinner with us :goodvibes He would have worked boxing day aswell but it was already covered. While we don't have kids I wouldn't think twice about working over Christmas, though my sector doesn't tend to operate on bank holidays.

DW did a night shift on Christmas Day. She started at 8pm and finished 7am Boxing Day. I had to give her a lift into work and pick her up too so only one glass of wine for me Christmas Day :-(

I worked Christmas Day and Boxing Day and will work New Year's Eve. I should have worked New Year's Day as well, but have decided to take a day leave.

2am ?! what do you do?
my dh doesnt work Christmas Day but every day around it he does, he works 7 days a week between Dec10th and Jan 14th - and his days are 7.30am to 8pm - so Christmas Day is his only day off for over a month. Its the busiest time for him so no choice, he's used to it, he always loses weight this time of year!

good on you! I went through the application process for the force, but pulled out when I decided to turn pro at golf instead - slight difference in choice! Since then I've been involved quite alot with the police ..... most often in the form of a yellow speeding ticket:laughing:

I'm one of the lucky ones as the firm I work for closes down for a week over Christmas and New year and i always tag some hols on so I usually end up with almost 3 weeks!
So far my DH has also always had Christmas off too - usually a week - so we're very lucky.:cool1:

I'm back on Wednesday, I would have been back on Boxing day but I have had leave booked. Having said that I wouldn't have been back until the 12th had my new job training had come thorugh, instead it has been pushed back until February.
