Merry Christmas everyone. Quite a few of us have lost loved ones this year. Many of us have had family illnesses we have had to deal with and are still dealing with. My prayer is that God will comfort us all and help us to handle all that we are faced with.

May you have a joyous Christmas and a Happy New Year. Here's hoping 2009 is better for us all!

Happy holidays and may the new year bring us all peace.

I am now baking the Christmas Stollen. If anybody is in the area, stop by for some tomorrow. Come early, it will go fast.

Merry Christmas to all my fellow Dis'ers. Please keep my family in your prayers, as the doctor has told my sister today that she is confident that she will be at work tomorrow delivering my niece or nephew on Christmas day. He/she will be a month early, so we are on pins and needles.

(I keep telling her that the baby can be a wonderful tax deduction, but all I get is "Shut up, Jen") I was just trying to help...::rolleyes1

Here is to 2009 being a much better year, it just has to be!

Oh Jim, I wish I could. I actually looked at them in the store yesterday. My mom always made stollen for Christmas when we were young. I miss it. Enjoy!

Good luck to your sister, Jen. That's great! We've had a baby around for a few days and he's been a big reason why Christmas was so much fun this year!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

And Dan, this might be the first time I've ever rooted for the Dolphins! :lmao:

Merry Christmas to all my camping buddies. Please remember our troops who are defending our freedom today away from their loved ones around the world. Also please say a small prayer for my son Kevin. He leaves in a few hours returning to Iraq from 2 weeks R&R. We were blessed to have him home today and pray for his safe return soon.

Please tell your son that we are very, very grateful for his service to our country. May God bless him and all the troops on His son's precious birthday.

What is stollen?

A Bavarian nut stollen - much like Jim.

A German bread made at Christmas time with candied fruit and nuts (but I leave out the nuts) and frosted. In my family, it is part of the traditional Christmas morning breakfast.
