We are 1st time cruisers! Any info on cabin 8048 (7 day western cruise, June 8)? How can I treat my friend to a "Spa Treatment" since I cannot purchase a spa gift certificate? (My friend is not in my cabin, but is on the same cruise) Also, my daughter is 8 - any advice for fun on-board activities? Thanks!

Hi, nunna! Welcome to the DIS boards.

8048 is a Category 3 on the port (left) side of the boat. You will have a transparent verandah railing. There will be no connecting door to the adjacent room. There is a queen-sized bed in the bedroom as well as a pull-down berth. The other two berths are in the living room. 8048 is underneath the Goofy pool, but you probably won't have too much problem with noise except on the night of the Tropical Deck Party. You can count on hearing the loud music until pretty late in the night. Most people really enjoy their Category 3 rooms... I'm sure you will as well.

As far as treating your friend... you could purchase On Board Credits through the Magical Treasures catalog. On Board Credits can be purchased in $25 denominations and can be used to settle onboard expenses such as the spa. You can contact Magical Treasures via 800-601-8455.

As far as your DS8, we haven't seen any Navigators from the Western itinerary yet, because the Inaugural Western cruise is currently underway, but you could check out the Oceaneer's Lab navigator for her age group on the Eastern itinerary to get an idea of what might be offered.

You'll be on only the third western cruise! I hope you have fun!
