VB Turtle Walk?

PLEASE can anyone tell me what day or days the Turtle walk is offered. I understand it's a lottery, but I can't find out the days.

This turtle walk is different from the adopt a turtle thing offered at VB where you go to the beach looking for nesting turtles and get to name one?

This is on Monday nights see a presentation then go out to the beach....has anyone ever done this? My son is soooo excited!

Have done the presentation a few times.We never went down on the Beach however. Won the lottery twice. They do a similar presentation while other Rangers go out in search of nesting sites. If one is spotted they radio back. Last time the Ranger said it was the first time in almost 2seasons that one did not nest in the vicinity that evening :(

One night last June, we did come across a nesting turtle right next to the steps while the campfire was going on. Ran up and got a CM to call one of the Rangers.It is a wonderful event but once people knew what was going on, Kids were trying to run up to her and grab her making noise etc and the parents were just letting them:mad:Until the Ranger got upset. They have presentations to educate people on the odds these Turtles face and how sensitive they are to outside intervention. It is well worth attending. The Ranger let a small girl name her.She named her Elizabeth. Have a wonderful time!!!:)
