Ok, our trip is booked and we have received confirmation.
On the confirmation we received it says:

02/09/2009 HOTEL
CORONADO SPRINGS-STANDARD VIEW
SPECIAL REQUEST: OTHER

What does "OTHER" mean. We didn't make any special requests, but when the CM asked if we were celebrating anything special I jokingly said, "No, but you can throw on there that it's our anniversary or something."

Do you think he took me seriously?
He was a pretty nice guy and seemed very eager to help.

It may mean nothing or maybe he did put that in there. When I think special requests though I think like room requests or that you need a crib or something.

I don't know what the "other" stands for, but I noticed it on ours as well. I think the anniversary would have been listed separately if they had put that on there.

I just booked our trip and the CM asked if we were celebrating anything and I mentioned that we were leaving the day after my husband's graduation. On our confirmation it says:
Special Request: Other
Please Note: Husband College Graduation

I wasn't expecting her to put that on our info, but I'm sure it will be nice for him if the CM congratulates him when we check in.

Hmmm....I'm not sure what that might mean. As the PP stated though, if it was a celebration, it would come up as a "note" not a "special request." At least, I think it would.

Hopefully it means something secret and super special that you will find out about when you get there. lol

That's what I'm hoping too. Maybe an upgrade or even a prime room location.
My guess is that if it is anything at all it might be something simple like champagne or flowers in the room when we arrive.

Might mean that there's a list of certain "special occasions" that they have and the one you mentioned wasn't there so they just put "other" to acknowledge the event but it's not one they give a discount for??? :confused3

I think those also help Disney keeping track of why people are visiting.
