We used to love San Angel and after having terrible service in '04 we vowed never to go back, the food was mediocre at best on that trip also. I do love the atmosphere and after seeing the new menu was thinking we may return.....probably not, TOO many other awesome places to go to!
Looking forward to Yak & Yeti, we were supposed to try it last trip but were so stuffed from breakfast at BOMA we couldn't think about eating lunch.

YAK and YETI. Well we really loved it. The food was good and a real surprise. We came up to the front desk and told the young man that we had no ressies. He said "How about a seat at the bar where you can order" Are you kidding me! "Say no more":rotfl: ;) Great chairs and the bartenders were so much fun and sweet. The other adults sitting at the bar with us were not stuffy and we ALL talked about the food and drinks. So much fun!!! It was a really cool Disney experience. And having 2 beers apiece helped I'm sure.
I had the steak and shrimp and it was very good and of course cooked very rare just like I ordered.:) The shrimp tempura was nicely turned out. Dipping sauce was good . As were the veggies and rice. No way could I finish this feast after eating the Dim Sum (very good). The portions were HUGE!!!
DH had the ribs and he states that for rib lovers they were just delicious and fork tender. He enjoyed the Dim Sum basket and was shocked that the portions were so huge. DH couldn't finish either.
On this trip we were total winos. But when we saw the beer choices, well game over, gotta try them. They were very good.:rotfl:

Yes! His name is Buddy(4 yrs. old) and we adopted him from English Bulldog rescue back in May. We just love him to pieces.  Had no idea that bullies were so loving and sweet. We call him our little love sponge as he is a small bullie boy only weighing 40 lbs. He had never seen a horse before, so when he came to live with us, it was hilarious to see him and the horses just standing there staring at each other. Buddy is a real tuffy to wards the 1000 lb. horses. I think they just roll there eyes.

California Grill It was very good. But what happened to the dress code? DH and I really dressed up for this one. Suit and tie for DH and lovely dress for me. We were way over dressed!
And that is sad.:sad2:
The cheeses board was most delicious and a good choice. But I must say I liked the selections at Flying Fish better with the wine flight. I thought the Sashimi/Sushi was good but Ive had better. DH really enjoyed his flatbread, filet and his favorite the Ravioli. The desserts were great when we ate them later on a late night. We both really liked the wine as it was perfect with our choices. I did find it strange that there was no recommendations given for correct wine. At this level of service there should be a sommelier to make suggestions when asked what would go well with the courses.:confused3
The view was outstanding of course and we were not rushed. Carol was an excellent CM and served everything well. She had just finished nursing school so we had a nice chat about NICU. The atmosphere was really like a large bistro. Very loud even late on a Wednesday. We brought left overs back to our room.
Total cost: $239.63 Tip: $60.00
Would we go here again? We both wish we had gone back to V&As but we are glad we tried CG. :)

GARDEN VIEW LOUNGE TEA What can I say? Magical, romantic, lovely, emotional? Yes to all. How fabulous.:cloud9: :cloud9:  :santa:
We each had the Grand Tea. With champagne of course.:)
We both love scones and these did not disappoint.
DH had the trifle for dessert and I had the pastry choice. HHMMMMM pastry.
DH had the Garden View blend tea. I had the Nobo Whole fruit tea. Yum!
Tea sandwiches were yummy. It was very grand and most filling.
I actually cried as the last thing I did with my mother before she died was to have an afternoon tea with her like this. Mother would have loved it.:)

I am really enjoying your reviews and pictures.
Can you clarify one thing for me (well actually it will probably end up being two things).
The cost for Boma - was it $50.89 plus a $20 tip or $70.89 plus a $20 tip?
If it was the first one - can I ask - what did the server do for a 39% tip? You didn't mention anything outstanding in your review so I'm just wondering (not judging - I've sometimes tipped very high for no other reason than the server said something that was amusing, or I was in a really good mood that day).

Hi! :flower3: Your title drew my attention and I'm so glad it did! Great reviews so far!
Add me to the list of people who say you look great and I'd never guess you were over 50! Side story - I was just carded at WDW in Dec (I haven't been carded in YEARS-- and shouldn't be) but anyway the CM refused to believe me but then said "well, I guess it (alcohol) really does keep you young!" Words to live by!!
Well thanks to you I have definitely added Flying Fish to my wish list and am coveting a concierge level stay even more. :thumbsup2
I felt the same way about San Angel. Good thing the margaritas came first. ;)
Looking forward to more. popcorn::

IL MULINO Wow!!! Very, very good. Our server was really very fabulous and I don't remember her name, nuts. The service and ambiance was first rate. We felt so relaxed and unhurried. Where we sat was nice and comfortable with good views. Both of us had wanted to really try this restaurant and we are so glad we did. Very romantic and quiet.
The veal was cooked perfectly as was the gnocchi. Wine so good!:) :thumbsup2 Loved the appetizer.
Bread and bread sticks were delicious.
We had no room for dessert at all. But the lemoncellos hit the spot.
Portions were huge and we felt bad leaving this but we were flying out in the morning.:sad1:
All said and done Il Mulino was a great experience that we liked better then California Grill.
Cost: $221.47 Tip: $60.00

I'm enjoying your reviews but I wanted to ask, too, about your tipping. Dh and I tend to be big tippers and it can be embarrassing when you go into your "regular" restaurant and the staff fights over who gets to wait on you that day! But you seem to be even bigger tippers than us.
