Pin Crazed Kids

We went to WDW for the 1st time this past summer. Our first day there, first ride of the day was Haunted Mansion. We get off and a cm gives our 2 kids the YOAMD lanyards. They really didn't explain the pin collecting. So we kinda left underwhelmed by the gifts. Then the kids are in line for another ride and some other kids start freaking over the lanyards. "where'd you get them" and such. The kids then explained the collecting and created monsters. We had to stop for a minute at every cm wearing a vest looking for pins. Gift shops after rides---pins. One of the things the kids look forward to about the return trip is new pins.

ahahaha that's how they get us too - with the YOAMD lanyards. We've probably spent enough on pins since to fund an entire trip - egads!

We first heard about them last year and once the kids found out about the trading they were hooked especially the oldest.

He did make a couple good trades for some but pasted up ones that were really rare that only CM have and you can't get them any other way.

He said there's no point in trading just to have a rare if you don't actually like the pin.

We spent over $500 on pins last year. My husband said he's not doing that again but I just smile and say "sure we aren't"....LOL:dance3:
