Well we just returned from an absolutely wonderful trip to the World. We were on the DDP for the first time. I thought it wouldn't be enough food, boy was I wrong!! So for 6 days I swore off counting Weight Watchers Points and indulged at all the restaurants I had been painstakingly researching and pouring over for months on end!

Here are the TS and CS restaurants that I will be reviewing...and yes, I have plenty of pictures to go along with the reviews!!

Cantina de San Angel Post #6
Pecos Bills Post #7
Kona Cafe (breakfast)
Crystal Palace
Casey's
Flame Tree BBQ
Le Cellier
Sci Fi Dine In
Tutto Italia
1900 Park Fare (breakfast)
Chefs de France
Wolfgang Puck Express

Plus various snacks and adult beverages throughout!!

Here is the cast of characters:
Me (Wendy): 22 yo female. Just graduated from college in May and this is my first trip to Disney since turning 21. I've been to Disney over 10 times since I was 11 months old. My parents raised me to be a Disney freak. They even had a Disneymoon back in the day. I spend most of my time working at a small advertising agency, hanging out with Dbf, and wishing I was at Disney.

Favorite Disney Character: Alice. Close 2nd is Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) and 3rd is Tink.

Favorite Ride at Disney: Splash Mountain

Dbf (Greg): 25 year old male, works in IT for the county. Has been to Disney about 3 times, twice on school trips and once with his family. Loves everything Zelda and Star Wars

Favorite Disney character is Donald

Favorite Ride: Space Mountain

We arrived in Disney on 12/15 and checked into our resort around 11. The room wasn't ready and we were both starving so we decided to grab some grub. Nothing in the POP food court looked too appealing, and I didn't really want to waste a CS credit when I knew that there was all this delicious food waiting for me in Epcot!!

After riding Mission Space, we headed over to Mexico. I'm really glad we didn't eat before Mission Space....I don't usually get motion sickness but I definitely felt queasy after that ride!

I decided to get the Cantina Nachos (tortilla chips, beef, cheese, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, sour cream, black refried beans $7.95) with a Diet Coke and a churro.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney005.jpg

Nachos are one of my favorite things when I'm not dieting, so this was way off the scale in terms of weight watchers points I'm sure! But it was sooo good! I normally don't like nacho cheese, but everything was great. I had a few bites of my churro (not eating the whole thing is better, right? lol) which was also great. There's just something about churros from Disney..yum!

Greg got the Plato Combinacion: chicken taco, beef burrito and a quesadilla served with black refried beans and Mexican salsa $8.75 with a diet coke and churro. He later added a XX.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney004.jpg

I give this meal :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: out of 5! One of the best CS meals all week!

Coming up next...Main Street Bakery and Pecos Bills!

After spending some time in Epcot and picking 2 pearls in Japan (one was 7 mm and one was 8 mm!), we decided to go over to the Magic Kingdom. It's my favorite park and I just couldn't wait until the next day!

After taking some photopass pictures, we stopped in the Main Street bakery for a snack.

I had been dreaming about the Cinnamon Rolls for months so I got one of those, while Greg got a piece of chocolate cake.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney021.jpg

My cinnamon roll did not disappoint! It was HUGE and warm and gooey and wonderful! Dbf's cake was very rich and good.

After going on some rides and watching the fireworks, it was already EMH and we decided time to use another CS credit!

We were in Adventureland, so we headed over to Pecos Bills. I had done my research prior to leaving for Disney, so I was excited to get a burger and take a trip to the fixins bar.

I got the 1/4 lb cheeseburger with fries and a diet coke. The fixins bar was awfully crowded! After waiting in line I went to the nacho cheese only to have it spray on my hand...it was very very hot! The CM who was standing there just yelped "Don't use that one!" and took it away to refill it. I put mushrooms, ketchup, mustard, and lots of pickles on my burger and some nacho cheese on my frieds.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney032.jpg

And for dessert I chose the carrot cake.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney033.jpg

I wish I could review the carrot cake for you, but the truth is I never got around to eating it! We had a fridge in our room at Pop (which we did not ask or pay for...I'm calling it pixie dust) so Dbf and I kept our cakes in there. I figured we'd eat it later in the week for breakfast, but mid-way through the trip I started feeling very guilty about my poor food choices and I never ate it.

The burger was great, but very greasy.

Dbf got the double bacon cheeseburger with fries, a diet coke, and carrot cake. I'm sorry I didn't take pictures of his, but it looked like a bigger version of my burger.

I give this meal :santa: :santa: :santa: out of 5! Good, but Mexico was better.

Great review so far. I am going to be in WDW in May and I am also on weight watchers. I just reached lifetime member and I have lost a total of 70 pounds. We are also going to be on the DDP and I am a little nervous about gaining so much weight back. If you don't mind me asking...did you have a big gain when you came back?

great reviews, can't wait for more. Can't say I like the look of what you call 'nacho cheese' is it like a cheese sauce? We have cheddar or similar on our nachos here and I love it and I do love mexican food.

Wow great for you!! I just started at the beginning of November and have lost 10 lbs. When I got back I jumped on the scale and it said that I had gained a few pounds, but now, 3 days after getting back, I am already back to my pre-Disney weight. I think it was a lot of water weight that I was seeing at first. My best advice is don't eat all of the desserts! You get soo many and I'd just pick a couple throughout the week to actually have. Some places will have fruit as a dessert option (but not many). I also started foregoing fries and getting the healthier side options like apple slices later in the trip because my guilt caught up with me! I was doing so much walking that I think I earned enough activity points to balance things out, but I found it too hard to count points there since I didn't know ingredients of most things. Good luck!

Thanks! Yes, it's a cheese sauce. I usually like to have nachos with real melted cheese, but this was good. Although I hadn't eaten since 6 am when I had them so it may have been the hunger talkin!

Awesome reviews and pics! I can sympathize about that hot cheese sauce...I put some in little cups and when I went to pick them up man were they HOT!

Thank you! And they really should monitor that sauce better, it can really burn someone! lol

I had similar concerns on our last trip. Did a lot of eating and drinking for one week and didn't gain a pound. All the walking must have balanced it out!:thumbsup2

Work is slow today so I will do another post because I need to reminisce about the trip!

Now I had 4 sit-down breakfasts scheduled for our 6 day trip. I quickly learned that Dbf is not a morning or a breakfast person so we compromised and cancelled 2. This was one that I was really looking forward to...Kona Cafe! I didn't realize how difficult it would be to travel from Pop to the Poly, we got on a bus to the MK, jumped on the monorail and had to ride it almost in a complete circle until we reached the Poly. We were a little late, but Kona is so easy to find from the monorail exit. You walk into the hotel and it's right on your left.

Our reservation was for 8 am but we didn't get there until aroud 8:10. We were seated within 5 minutes of checking in. I was surprised that so many people were waiting for tables when there were several empty ones in the dining area. Atmosphere at this restaurant isn't great, like a typical hotel restaurant, but that's not why I wanted to go there.

First we ordered some drinks. I decided it was vacation and it's ok to drink at breakfast on vacation so I ordered a mimosa.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney048.jpg

Greg tried to sneak into the picture as I was taking it. This was delicious. I love champagne and orange juice, they are even better together.

We also ordered a pressed pot of Kona coffee.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney049.jpg

This was big enough for the 2 of us to share. I got 2 full cups out of it and Dbf got 1 1/2...oops. They also gave us a little pitcher of cream and a bowl of sugar, splenda (my sweetener of choice), and I think equal.

Now on to the delicious food! I ordered the Tonga Toast with bacon (of course!) after reading about it so much on these boards and Dbf ordered the ham and cheese omelet.

They brought out a little dish of butter, maple syrup, strawberry sauce, and ketchup for the 2 of us.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney050.jpg

Tonga Toast - banana stuffed sourdough bread, rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with Strawberry Compote and your choice of ham, bacon, or sausage $10.99

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney051.jpg

It was everything I dreamed it would be! Soft and warm on the inside and a little crunchy and sweet on the outside. I tried it with the strawberry sauce, but preferred it without it. I didn't think it was overly sweet. The bacon was ok, it was kind of greasy. I prefer my bacon to be crispy.

Ham and Cheese Omelet with home-fried potatoes and a biscuit $10.49

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney052.jpg

Greg said this was "better than it looked." The omelet was very cheesey and had a lot of ham. We both agreed that the potatoes were excellent! They were seasoned very well. He would have ate them all but it felt a little too much like eating french fries for breakfast. He didn't care for the biscuit. He said it was dry and when I mentioned that there were pancakes that came with macadamia nut butter he was grossed out by the butter we had. I tasted it and said that it was just regular butter but I think he had macadamia nuts on the brain (he hates them).

I give this breakfast :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: out of 5! I think we'd go here again if we stayed in a hotel that was closer or I'd like to try dinner on a night that we're in the MK. It takes a little too long to travel to in the morning from Pop. We're late risers.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! We got to leave work early, so I'll do another update.

We spent the day in the Magic Kingdom with MVMCP that night. I had originally wanted to have dinner at the Crystal Palace, but it was booked solid. I got a late lunch instead at 2:40 pm.

We got to the check in desk around 2:20 and were seated around 2:50. I don't remember our waitress's name, but we each ordered a diet coke from her and she explained how the characters would come around.

We were seated to the far left of the restaurant, which meant there was a pretty far walk to the buffet and considerable obstacles from time to time.

Here is my first plate:
http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney065.jpg
From the top center going clockwise:
Medditeranean Pasta salad - this was ok
Couscous tofu salad - this had a really weird texture, I was not impressed
Some sort of southwest chicken and corn salad: I really liked this...I got seconds
Tropical Slaw: I liked this too
Greens: Just your typical salad

And my second plate:
http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney070.jpg
Again, clockwise from top...
Pizza: This wasn't bad per se. I just come from NJ where we have really good pizza. So I only had one or two bites.
Pasta with cream sauce: I LOVED this. I got seconds. It was delicious.
Mashed Potatoes: These were ok.
Broccoli with puri puri and key lime ponzu: I liked these alot. Broccoli is my favorite vegetable and they were seasoned well and cooked very well. Not too mushy, but not too raw either.
Fire Roasted Corn spoon bread: I really wanted to like this. I love corn break so I figured it would be similar. But I just couldn't get myself to like it. It tasted like there was something missing and it had a weird texture.
And finally some sort of balsamic pasta: This was ok. I liked the pasta with cream sauce better.

My 3rd plate (lol! I sample a lot I swear...I never finish my plates):
http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney071.jpg
Flank Steak with a sauce (I don't remember what): This was good. Cooked well...not too overdone
More pasta in cream sauce: yum!
Ancho Chile Rubbed Atlantic Salmon: This was spiced well, but it was a little too over cooked for me.
Rotisserie Chicken: I was starting to get full so I didn't get around to trying this.
Pulled pork: this was very good too!
I'm not sure what this was...I think pork tenderloin: I didn't try this. But I could tell without even eating it that it was very very dry!

And the dessert plate!
http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney074.jpg
Chocolate peanut butter cake: This was the best one of them all! I love the combination of chocolate and peanut butter!
I don't remember what that glob is..I know I was scraping the bottom of a bowl for it though!
Apple cobbler: This was pretty good.
Banana bread pudding with Baily's Irish Cream sauce: Yum! This was like a warm, gooier, softer version of banana bread!
Carrot cake in the middle: This came in close 2nd behind the chocolate peanut butter cake. Very very good!

I didn't take any pictures of Dbf's plates because we were on opposite eating schedules. He'd be at the buffet while I was eating and vice versa.

I give this meal :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: out of 5! We met all of the characters and took pictures. I'll put them in another post though.

It's been a few days since I posted a review...I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday! I'm going through post-Christmas depression. I love December and the spirit of the season and it always makes me sad to have to wait another year for it to come around again.

I completely skipped over this in my last review, but on our first full day in MK Greg and I were in Adventureland when I started to feel a little sick. It was warm and we had been walking alot. I sent him to get me a cold water (I had a water bottle but it was warm) and sat down on a bench to relax. When he came back with me water, he also had this with him:

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney055.jpg

A Dole Whip float! I told him how famous these were on the DIS. I kept stealing some bites and it was yummy. Very sweet, but it was nice to have something cold on such a warm day. The sugar gave me a little pick me up as well.

After we ate at CP, we did the rides for a few more hours. Then it was time for MVMCP! I knew we were in trouble when they announced that it was sold out for the night. We saw the castle lighting and ran over to Tomorrowland for Mickey's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. It was standing room only, but we had a good view.

I was hungry and wanted to grab something to eat after the show. I thought I had read on here that other places than those listed on the map would be open for food, however this was not true. All of the CS locations other than the ones on the map were locations for cookies and hot chocolate. We got ours at Columbia Harbor House (I'm sad I didn't get to have a regular meal here...I was craving something lighter than a burger or fried chicken) but the cookies held me over. They were pretty dry to be quite honest. Compared to the cookies at Crystal Palace, which Dbf ate and claimed were "the best cookies in the world," these were not so good. THe hot cocoa wasn't bad.

After the cookies, we went over to Frontierland and rode BTMRR then went over to Adventureland. Pirates was closed due to technical difficulties, so we went over towards the hub. I decided to try out Casey's for some food.

We both got the hot dog meal. Dbf got fries with his and I got apples (can you tell I was feeling guilty for all the bad food?) and we each got cracker jacks. For drinks I got a water and Greg got a diet coke.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney090.jpg
Yes, there is a hot dog somewhere under there. I got relish, ketchup, and mustard on my hot dog.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney091.jpg

I really like the hot dog! It was filling without making me feel too stuffed. The apples were crisp and juicy. I saved my cracker jacks but never ate them. I suspect they taste like regular cracker jacks.

Now, Dbf got sick in the middle of the night that night. He claimed it was the hot dog, but I told him I ate it too (and everything else he ate that day). From being on these boards I've learned that there has been a stomach bug going around Disney all month. I was spared, and Dbf was feeling better and eating again by the next morning.

Overall, I give this meal :santa: :santa: :santa: out of 5!

I can tell it's going to be slow at work (really, we should just be one of those companies that closes between Christmas and New Years) and I'm missing Disney a whole lot today so I will post more!

Our third day in the World was spent at Animal Kingdom. I had never been on Expedition Everest so Dbf and I ran over there, grabbed FPs for later and rode once. After we got off, we decided it was time for some coffee and a small breakfast.

Originally, I had a breakfast at Boma scheduled for today, but since we had stayed at MVMCP until nearly midnight the night before (...that means we spent 15 hours in the MK!!) we were too exhausted and decided to cancel it.

Dbf isn't really a breakfast person anyway, and since he was up half the night hugging a toilet, a buffet would have been a waste of money on him.

We stopped at the Andapur (sp?) Tea Company cart over in Asia for some iced coffees and we split a blueberry muffin. This cart is not on the dining plan (I found that weird) so we paid OOP.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney166.jpg

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney167.jpg

Both were very good and I definitely needed the caffeine after the late night!

We walked the park and went on Dinosaur, EE again, and used our FP for the Safari when I decided it was time for a snack. There was a snack stand right outside of the Safari and I saw that they had spicy cheese stuffe pretzels!! I was so excited that I used a snack credit to get one.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney187.jpg

The cheese was different color than I expected. Overall, this pretzel could've been spicier and it would have been better with salt on the outside, but I love salty and spicy food so some people might enjoy this more. I still thought it was tasty, I just might get a regular stuffed pretzel with nacho cheese on the side the next time I'm craving a pretzel in WDW.

After walking around some more and taking in A Bug's Life, Greg and I decided to get a CS lunch. From doing my research on here, I knew I wanted to try Flame Tree BBQ. The lines were pretty long, but I manged to hop in one that moved faster (of course it was the furthest away...people are so lazy I tell you!). Greg and I both got the 1/2 Slab of St. Louis Ribs served with baked beans and corn muffin - $10.49 We both got waters and I got key lime pie while Dbf got the chocolate cake. It had little Christmas sprinkles on it which was cute.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney188.jpg

Yummy!! The baked beans were great, the corn muffin was excellent (I LOVE corn muffins...I wonder where the best ones on property are?), and the ribs were a huge portion!! I suggest getting the BBQ sauce on the side too, they'd be a little dry (not the meat just the flavoring) without it. I don't even think I finished half of my ribs. The pie was refreshing and sweet and tart.

Now my one complaint, the birds were out of control here!!The ducks kept walking up to me and quacking for food. I thought they were going to bite my little toes off! Then all of a sudden, this HUGE white bird (I think it was 2 feet tall) swooped down and landed next to me with it's wings fully extended (it had a wingspan of about 3 feet) and squaked (sp?) right at me. I screamed. It was terrifying...this bird looked like it belonged on the Safari! One of the CMs chased it away.

All that aside, I give this meal :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: out of 5! A great value for a CS on the DDP!

We had dinner at Epcot 3 nights of our trip. I like to call them the "Big 3" of the World Showcase: Le Cellier, Tutto Italia, and Chefs de France. When I was planning they seemed to be the 3 that got the most favorable reviews on the DIS.

So we left AK around 1:30 (I don't think this is a full day park) and took a nap at the resort for a couple of hours. We were still so exhausted from the day before! Then we went over to DTD for some shopping, dropped our purchases off at POP, and hopped on a bus to Epcot.

While at DTD, I stopped in Goofy's Candy Shop and had these made:
http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney190.jpg
Pretzels dipped in milk chocolate and covered in 1. Reese's 2. Butterfinger and 3. Crushed Oreos and drizzled with caramel. I had the one with Reese's and it was delicious! I'm sorry to say I never tried the other two lol, they sat in our room for the rest of the week and I was just never hungry enough for them (Or it was that WW guilt). I should have brought them home but I chucked em when we checked out. Oh well!

The restaurant was very easy to find even though I had never been there before. The iron gates and the walkway to the check in area are beautiful!! I checked in and we were called about 5 minutes later for our 8:25 pm ADR. I felt very lucky to get this reservation as I got it about 6 weeks before we left. (The calling at the 45 day mark really does work).

We were seated right in the center of the room. I thought the interior was very romantic, dark with some "candlelight".

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney205.jpg
To the right of me was the "fireplace." Those 2 tables remained empty for most of our meal which I thought was surprising. A large group came towards the end and took up both tables.

Our waitress greeted us promptly and although I don't remember her name I do remember that she was from Quebec. She thought I was a girl that worked there at first (I guess I look like her) so she was a little flustered at first lol.

She took our drink orders and told us she'd be bringing us over some bread (this made me very excited...I couldn't wait to try pretzel bread!)

Greg got a Sam Adams and I got a Moosehead Pale Ale at the recommendation of our waitress. It was also the cheapest beer on the menu!
(Sorry my pictures are so dark here...I feel rude using flash in a sit down restaurant)
http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney206.jpg

Then she brought out the bread, I thought I took a picture of this but I think we may have been too busy scarfing it down to capture it on film!! The pretzel bread was amazing, I love pretzels and it was even better than a pretzel. Very soft and warm too!

As an extra, I got a cup of th Canadian Cheddar Cheese soup as an appetizer. Made with Moosehead Beer and Smoked Bacon Cup $5.49 Bowl $6.99
http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney207.jpg
Yum! This was really good with the pretzel bread. It reminded me of baked potato soup only without the potatoes and with more cheese. Our waitress brought us out more pretzel bread at this point because we had polished off the first loaf.

For our entrees, Dbf got the coffee rub Kansas City Strip steak:
http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney209.jpg
You can see his beer and some remains of the pretzel bread too. Boy was this HUGE!! If you have a hearty appetite for steak, this would be good for you. I tried a bite, and the steak was cooked perfectly. I wasn't a huge fan of the coffee rub because it gave the outside of the steak a grainy texture, but Dbf loved it! I believe his came with cream cheese mashed potatoes as well.

I got (of course) the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon (cooked medium rare) with wild mushroom risotto, white truffle and herb butter sauce $34.99 :
http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney208.jpg
WOW this was incredible!! It was just so rich and decadent and tender! Like heaven on a plate! I'm not one to buy into all the hype immediately, but everything that people say about this filet is true, it really is that good! The risotto was good too, not too dry or too sticky. Dbf took a bite of mine after raving about his and then said "I should've tried your's last" because he became so jealous!

For dessert Greg got the maple creme brulee:
http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney211.jpg

And I got an apple crumble with maple ice cream:
http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney210.jpg
WHen I was stalking menus for months before the trip I had always intended on getting the chocolate on chocolate whisky cake. I'm a huge chocolate lover in real life! Despite this, I didn't get any chocolate desserts while there :confused3

While I had the better entree of the night Greg had the better dessert. My apple crisp was good, the apples were very very sweet though. I thought his creme brulee would have been very sweet given the comination of maple syrup and sugar, but it was perfect! It was very subtle, definitely not overpowering. It was served at a great temperature too. I think my entree was too rich for me to stomach having a rich dessert, but looking back I wish I had tried the chocolate cake!

I give this meal :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: out of 5! That's right, our first perfect score! Everything about this place was great: the ambiance, the service (our waitress was so sweet and attentive, she joked around with us too!), the food (yummy!), and the value on the DDP. I wouldn't hesitate going here again for a second!

Great reviews!

I just cancelled Tusker House because DH and DS are NOT morning people. DH heard me say breakfast at 8 am and he gave me the stink eye! LOL

I made an ADR for LeCellier since AK is a half day park for us anyway. I can't wait!

Hey there! As much as I love breakfast food I knew I had to make a few compromises. Next time I know not to schedule so many or we'll stay longer so we can do late breakfasts because we won't have to be at the park at rope drop.

Le Cellier is awesome! You're going to love it!

Happy New Years Eve! I just realized that I am half way through my reviews! That makes me so sad and so anxious to book another trip!

On Thursday we woke up and got to Hollywood Studios around rope drop (I saw around because it was increasingly difficult to get Dbf out of bed as the trip went on..).

We ran to TSM, grabbed some fast passes, and rode ToT and RnRC. I decided I was hungry and needed coffee, so we went to Starring Rolls Cafe. I got a coffee and an everything bagel with cream cheese, but I'm sorry to say I could not take any pictures. When I got outside, there weren't any tables. So there I sat, on a ledge (the benches were all taken too!), trying to put cream cheese on my bagel while Dbf stood holding the tray. :sad2: I was a little surprised that even though I saw people finish eating, they just continued to sit there taking up a table. Eventually someone got up, and I could finish my meal without doing a tray balancing act.

As soon as we finished, I got up and gave the table to another poor woman who was about to sit on the very same ledge. If we weren't getting up already I would have offered to share the table. We're only 2 people after all we don't need a whole table!

So after a great morning of riding rides, it was time for our 12:55 ADR at Sci Fi Dine In. I know this place gets mixed reviews, but it's a tradition for me to go here on every Disney trip. I paid for this meal OOP.

We checked in a little early and were seated about 5 minutes later. We were put in the middle row of a car with 2 other couples in the car. For drinks, I ordered Martia's Martian: chocolate and vanilla shakes mixed with Bailey's Irish Cream and Kahlua $9.50. It came with one of those great light up ice cubes! The last time I ate here, I wasn't 21 yet and my mother got one in her "adult beverage." I was so jealous. Back then you had to tap the cube on the table to get it to turn on, now there's a simple little button.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney223.jpg

Greg got a Yuengling but I didn't take a picture. This was so good but way too small! I thought it would be the size of a regular milkshake, and for the price, it should have been. I wanted more!

For our meals, we both got the Smoked Turkey Sandwich - Smoked turkey, crispy bacon, lettuce and tomato with an avocado mayonnaise on multigrain bread. Served with cucumber-melon salad $11.99 I got mine with the salad, Greg got his with fries.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney225.jpg

This was ok. It wasn't bad but it wasn't out of this world either. I wasn't in the mood for a greasy burger, and I think that's what they do best here. I should've just ignored that pesky little voice telling me I was going to regret bad choices later and gone for the burger and fries! I liked the salad that came with it, but I wish it didn't have red onions. Yuck! I hate red onions!

Dbf and I both considered getting dessert to share (they had something chocolate-peanut butter that sounded divine) but knowing that each of us could only stomach one or two bites, we decided against it. We were paying for it this time after all.

This wasn't my best experience here, food wise. Nevertheless, I love love love the atmosphere and the milkshake was great, if not small for the price. It was a :santa: :santa: :santa: out of 5.

Well I've been MIA for a few days...sorry about that!

As an aside, when we got home from our trip Dbf discovered that he had lost his camera. He took many more pictures than I did so this was really devestating. We called Pop, and they did not find it in the room. Out of curiousity, we called Disney Parks Lost and Found hoping he had left it on the bus on our way home from Epcot on our last night. To our surprise, someone had found it (2 days later) in a gutter in the Epcot parking lot! He just got it back and it has a picture of the imfamous Flame Tree bird (or teradactyl as he calls it) so I will be sure to post the monster once he sends me a copy!

Back to the reviews...

When I last left off Dbf and I were at DHS...towards the end of the day we had some adult beverages by the Backlot Express..they have a bar over there! I had a Red Hero: a mix of Myers Dark Rum, Blackberry brandy, banana liqueur and juices $8.00 and Dbf had a beer.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney226.jpg

My drinks was STRONG! Beware...if you can't hold your alcohol this may just knock you off your feet!

Before we left, I grabbed a sangria from the bar.

http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney228.jpg

As we were walking we got some popcorn and a big soft pretzel..but our hans were too full to take a picture.

After seeing the Osborne Lights (amazing!!!!) we took the boat over to Epcot for our 8:30 reservation at Tutto Italia. I'll preface this review by saying sorry if I offend anyone, I know that everyone's experiences are different but this is going to be a negative review (the only one of the trip!)

I was really looking forward to this meal and I had high hopes after reading so many great reviews here on the DIS. We originally had a dinner scheduled at 50s Prime Time Cafe, but I decided to cancel it and make one at Tutto instead. I totally regret it...

We gave them our name and were seated promptly (as an aside does it bother anybody else when the people working there speak in their native language in front of the guests? I saw the maitre d (sp?) and a waitress say something in Italian then start laughing hysterically after a guest had walked away from them...)

We were seated to the right of the restaurant. Someone came over and brought us water and a basket of bread with olive oil.

Problem #1: Where were my veggies and olives?? I had read about this wonderful little bowl of veggies and olives that came with the bread. I LOVE olives so I was planning on asking for extra. I looked to the tables around me and didn't see the bowls anywhere. They were on the menu (I speak French so I can decipher Italian somewhat if it is written).

Our waitress came over and took our drink orders (she told us no less than 3 times that my glass of wine and Dbf's beer would not be included on the dining plan and we repeatedly had to tell her that we knew that...) and our entree orders at the same time.

Problem #2: The 2 meals I wanted to try most were no longer on the menu.

So I ended up ordering bowtie pasta in a cream sauce with prosciuto. I don't see this on the menu at all ears. Dbf ended up ordering the spaghetti: veal meatballs and pomodoro sauce $24 because "it was the only thing he could pronounce."

Problem #3: She left and, no exaggeration, literally less than one minute later a food runner brought out our food. I was really grossed out. Obviously the food isn't made to order and either it had been sitting out in the kitchen pre-prepared and under a heating lamp or they just keep a pot of cooked pasta and cream sauce sitting out (yuck!) We hadn't even gotten our drinks yet and it wasn't because our waitress was slow, the food just came out shockingly fast. Dbf dug in but I refused to start eating until I at least got my drink!

Our waitress finally came over and said "sorry for taking so long" even though she hadn't, and gave us our drinks. It became apparent at this point that they were trying to heard us out of there as quickly as possible.

Here's the picture of my meal: http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney266.jpg

Problem #4: Now, I've eaten enough pasta in my life to know the difference between hand-made pasta and pasta from a box. This was pasta from a box. The sauce didnt taste home made either.

I didn't take a picture of Dbf's dish, he said the meatballs were dry. I tried a bite of his spaghetti, and it tasted like boxed pasta and canned sauce.

Then we ordered dessert, I got Copetta Sotto Bosco - berries, zabaglione cream gelato and chocolate sauce $14.00 mostly because it was the most expensive thing on the menu and I was so angry at that point that no dessert could cheer me up and Dbf got sorbetti.

My Copetta Sotto Bosco:
http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney267.jpg
The fruit was frozen, not fresh. As in it was literally still hard and cold. And who in their right mind would pay $14 for this??? I think this is a scam to serve the least expensive thing to make at the highest price and hope that everyone on the dining plan gets it so they aren't losing money.

Here is Dbf's:
http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr181/princesswendy720/Disney268.jpg

This meal gets :santa: out of 5. I honestly don't have one good thing to say about this meal. The service was lousy. We were extremely rushed. The food was lousy. The prices (if we weren't on the DDP) would have been outrageous! $30 for boxed pasta??? $14 for a sub-par ice cream sundae?? And no olives!! Maybe it was an off-night, but I won't find out if it's good other nights because we will not be returning. I really feel like I should have complained and gotten my credits back. This was a waste of 2 credits.

Again, I'm sorry if you love it...this was just my experience.

We ate there in June and must have had the same waitress. I don't remember her name, but she made me soooo mad when it came time to pay the bill. She reminded me that the tip wasn't included 2x, and then, instead of leaving the bill for me to sign, etc., she stood over my shoulder and then had the nerve to point out where to write in the tip.

There were 5 of us, for 10 nights, on dxdp & I always tipped around 20% for every place we ate, but she made me so mad, and I thought it was so rude to be treated that way, she got 10% and I felt that was overpaid!

Also, this was one of our least favorite meals, food-wise. DD13 said that her ravioli tasted like Chef-boyarde. DH tasted it and agreed.

I was really looking forward to having an "authentic, yet Disney-like" Italian meal, but we certainly didn't get it there.

Will NOT be going back.

Thanks for the Tutto Italia review. I wanted to try this place but dh commented that he doesn't eat any Italian food not prepared by his mother or me (I guess that's a compliment). Now that I've read your review, I think I better steer clear. You wrote about the dessert not being worth $14.00. One thing I plan to be conscious of is whether anything I order is worth the tip it is going to cost me. So, was your dessert worth $2.10 (assuming a 15% tip)? I've already decided that the mushroom fillet at Le Cellier is definitely worth the tip. Just hope they still have it on the menu in April.

I see what you mean about the pasta.
I saw someone else's report recently and they had the same thing I did. It didn't look like what I got. Makes me wonder if they cut their quality after the popularity took off. It'll be interesting to watch the feedback on this one now...
I ordered my dish because it sounded similar to the dish that used to be on the menu, buccatini gratini (or something along those lines). From pictures I saw of the old dish, it seems like they switched to bowtie pasta because they wouldn't have to hand make it (I know it was a long, thin pasta before) and they got rid of the "gratini" crust on top because they wouldn't have to bake it in the oven before they served it.

We ate there in June and must have had the same waitress. I don't remember her name, but she made me soooo mad when it came time to pay the bill. Wow, I think your waitress sounds even worse than ours! I always tip 20%, but this was the only meal all week that I did not give a 20% tip. It was that bad.

Glad to see we are in agreement about never returning.

Definitely not! As a matter of fact, this was my only meal all week that I did not leave a 20% tip for. I don't even think I left 15%. Not only was the food poor, but the service was too.

Yumm...the Le Cellier filet is wonderful! And the service there was great as well!
Great report so far!! The apple crumb and maple ice cream at Le Cellier sounds sooo good!! They didnt have that on the menu when I was there in September.

Wow, this was the first bad review I've read about Tutto Italia. Then to see the feedback as well...interesting (I've never been)! Thank you for being specific about what you do/don't like in your reviews. Very constructive!!! :thumbsup2

I had read so many great reviews about it, I really had high hopes. It's possiblle it was an off night, but if I can help anyone avoid a bad dining experience in a place where there are so many great restaurants, I will. Thanks for reading!

I'm really enjoying your reviews so far and I appreciate your honesty about Tutto Italia. I used to live in Italy and I am a huge snob when it comes to Italian cuisine. Sounds like I'll be skipping Tutto Italia in future WDW visits.

Thanks! I was nervous about posting a negative review, but I knew I had to give people my hones opinion so they can make an informed choice when the time comes to eat in Disney.

I am so so sad that I couldn't get into LeCellier for our upcoming trip, even more so after reading your review. Called at 42 days and every single night of our trip was sold out. I can't justify 2 credits for a lunch we'd all need a nap from lol!

Great reviews and pictures, thanks SO much for sharing! And how wonderful that you got the camera back!

Thanks! How soon is your trip? I know when I got Le Cellier I was calling 3 or 4 times a day. At one time there would be nothing available, then all of a sudden it would be there the next time I called! Good luck and have fun on your trip, I'm jealous!

Great reviews!

Thanks!

It makes me sad to say that we are nearing the end of my dining reviews :sad1: However I do still have a couple of great reviews in store for you!

On Friday I had a breakfast reservation for 1900 Park Fare. I love Alice so this was a must-do for me. I'm just not someone who will wait in line to meet a character in a park. I'll just pay for it and get a meal out of it too!!

For some reason, we could never make it to a breakfast reservation on time. It was a battle to get Greg out of bed lol. Because we were staying at Pop, I thought it would be faster this time around to take the bus to Epcot (instead off the MK) and then take the monorail to TTC then to the Grand Floridian. I think it worked out faster since the bus ride to MK from Pop was longer than the time we had to wait to transfer at TTC.

Wow the Grand Floridian is beautiful at Christmas time!! The staircase in the lobby is really breathtaking. Here are some pictures that I snapped while we were waiting for our table to be ready.

I have to admit I was a little sad when our buzzer went off! I wanted to take more pictures in the lobby.

We were seated right in front of the buffet. Our waitress explained to us how the characters would come out, and then we ordered our drinks (I got coffee and orange juice) and went up to get our food.

My buffet plate:

Clockwise from the top it was:
Lobster eggs benedict: I was surprised at how this was served. There were just a bunch in a big metal box. It was kind of messy.
Bread pudding with vanilla sauce
Bagel with herb cream cheese and lox
Bacon
Seasoned potatoes
and a Mickey waffle

I also got a mushroom and cheese omelet made to order:

It's probably my own fault, but I was rushing to get my food because I saw Pooh coming, follwed by all the other characters. Once I sat down they all started coming and I didn't want to start eating for fear that they would show up at the table and I'd have a mouth full of food or have food stuck in my teeth. I don't know if the food was cold when I got it or it just got cold because I put off eating it, but I'm inclined to say it's the latter. Everything was just ok. I was also getting sick by this point in the trip (I had a horrible sore throat) so my appetite just wasn't what it was in the beginning.

Here are some character pictures:
My whole reason for coming...

She was tiny!!! Now for reference, I'm only 5'3"! She was smaller than some of the kids in there! I had an Alice sweathshirt on and she got a kick out of it. Excuse how awfully tired I look...I'm really not a morning person.

Greg looked much better than I did this morning, he's only now (3 weeks later) starting to get the cold I was coming down with on the trip.

So this meal gets :santa: :santa: :santa: out of 5. I think I would've enjoyed it more if I weren't getting sick (I could barely swallow due to the sore throat) and if I knew how to manage my time at character meals better.
