Crop a dile II big bite punch worth the price?

I asked for a Crop a dile II for Christmas. Now I have been reading that it leaves the eyelets all messed up and doesn't work too well. For anyone who has one, do you like it? Is there a secret for it not to smash the eyelets for leave them sharp?

I hope I didn't make a mistake asking for one.

Ah, yes, sadly, my Cropadile has never met an eyelet he wouldn't eat. Total waste of money.
