Sonya PM'd me this morning, she just found out that her Dad may have had a stroke. She may have to go to Dallas to be with her family. She could use your prayers and well wishes at this time. Thanks!

:grouphug: Our prayers are with you--it's never an easy time. I've been there so I know.
Sonya, you, your Dad, and all the family are in our prayers. Something like that is never easy todeal with, especially if they don't live close. Keep us posted. And Christa, thank you for posting this.

Sonya , we send all of our best to your father.
We are so sorry to hear what happened.
Thanks for all of the positive thoughts and prayers! My dad is doing "ok". It appears that he has had another TIA....or at least they think this wasn't a "major stroke". He has paralysis on his left side from a major stroke a few years ago and has never really recovered from that. Unfortunately his health has continually declined and we've been through this drill several times. Luckily I have 4 siblings that live close to him in the Dallas area. The plan for now is to stay home for Christmas and then make the trip after that.
Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers...it means a lot to me!

I talked to Sonya on Christmas and they were heading out the next day to Dallas. She said there was no change in her dad's condition. I haven't heard from her since, so I hope and pray that all is as well as possible! I'll post if I hear anything else.
Thanks for thinking of us! Unfortunately my dad's situation is a bad one that just keeps repeating itself (he's been pretty sick for several years now). He has these TIA's or mild strokes that set him back (he had a major stroke a few years back). He gets weak and cant transfer himself from bed to wheelchair etc. Then the doc's subscribe these drugs that I sometimes think cause more harm than the $%&! strokes. Without going into too much detail, they really alter his personality and thinking. It's just a tough situation to see a loved one go through. And of course I feel helpless and guilty for being so far away.
I sincerely appreciate everyone's prayers and concern! I'm back home now and enjoying all of these hugs and smiles from my girls!

the drugs he is on can make a big difference. you may want to get a listing and take it to your pharmacy and get their opinion to make sure he isn't on ones that counter act one another. When I got my Mom home from a stay with my sister she came home with a shoebox FULL of meds...I took them all to my pharmacy and discovered there were many that didn't need to be taken at all and some not together with others...also the elderly suffer from chronic dehydration...since their mobility is limited they tend to drink less so they don't have to run to the bathroom so frequently...this results in chronic urinary tract infections, causes increased confusion, lethargy, and a whole lot of other problems!!!
Sonya my prayers are added to the others as well! I see first hand how hard it is! I know your pain during this sad time! Be strong and keep the faith! <>< Janet
