Palos Brunch and Tea attire

Can we wear nice shorts to the brunch and tea or are long pants and dresses required like for the main dinners?

The requested attire is "resort casual". Nice shorts and a golf shirt with docksiders for men is the norm. A great opportunity to wear a sundress for the ladies.

They do request no shorts for brunch and high tea, but you will see folks in nice shorts. I wore a casual skirt and my husband wore khakis and a polo shirt. :)
