OK, So the dust hasn't settled on this year's festivities yet.

But based on the amount of fun we had this year, I'm already planning on attending again in 2009. The "land" portion of Mousefest starts on 12/10/09. Val & I will be there - who else?

With the new baby coming, we have our next trip planned in the fall of....I can't even say it....2010. I may have to talk DH into it though. I was bummed to have missed the great party this year, and now it looks like the podcast cruise is a bust (for good reason, though!) I have a year to talk him into it....

I would love to go to Mousefest every year, but I don't think it is going to happen at this point. I was so fried after this trip. I just can't commando anymore. At least not at my present weight. And I have to adjust my mind set. I need to be alright with just doing the Mousefest stuff and not having it be a "Disney Trip." You know what I mean? I have to get this mind set for the cruise trip. And the budget is also a major factor. Maybe if I stay ... :scared1: ... at a value. Or even more astounding, off-site. I have never stayed off-site. The cruise trip will actually be my first non Disney hotel stay. Or maybe if we could get a good price at the Swan/Dolphin. HHHMMMM. Do we know anyone with a good relationship with these hotels? ;)

At this point, I think my next trip after the cruise is a solo 10 or 11 day trip in April 2010. I want nice weather, and I want to be able to swim. I'm thinking a split stay at the Beach Club and Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I really think the best area to stay for Mousefest is an Epcot area hotel. So easy to get to 2 sets of meets.

Only time will tell.

Hi Kim!

That is what I did this trip. I did not look at it as a trip to WDW...I focused on MF meets, etc. I only hit two parks...MGM and Epcot. It was still exhausting, but it wasn't nearly as exhausting as rushing around from park to park and hitting everything along the way!

I stayed at the Dolphin and it was Fab! In fact, we're staying at the Dolphin pre-cruise as well. We got in on the special rate that they were offering for pre and/or post cruise stays for the podcast cruise...

I'm not allowed to start planning for MF 2009 just yet...must get through the podcast cruise first! :thumbsup2

I have been thinking (yes, I know, dangerous for any of us ;) ) I won 3 days 2 nights at the Swan Dolphin a while back and I was going to use that for a couple of night for the podcast cruise. BUUUTTTT, since we are getting such a good discount, I think I am going to just pay for the hotel for the podcast cruise and save the nights I won for Mousefest. That's half my stay. I already have park tickets on a left over non expiring park hopper. I am going to email Corey, just to make sure this isn't a problem.

Sorry to hear of that. We actually did something similar for the last one. We went in October for our regular Food & Wine visit and hadn't planned on going in December. But when we heard about the PodCast meet, it was just the excuse that we needed to go again. It didn't matter that we new we were going to be back again in January (but not for the marathon), we just had to go.

Of course, owning DVC and having AP's makes adding a trip almost "free".

Wow, I am so bummed. My sole reason for booking a trip during December was to attend Mousefest. Now that there is no Mousefest, there is really no reason to go during this time. But, as Mindy stated above, the best part was hanging out with all of my new Dis friends. If some of you great folks are still planning on going to WDW during the former Mousefest dates, then I will hold onto my DVC ressies until I know for certain. This truely is very disappointing.

I think we can plan our own "stuff". We are already planning a mini DISfest pre and post cruse. And if truth be told, I mostly went to the MF events where I knew there would be other DISers anyways. And after the cruise we will all be BFFs and be wanting to see each other by December, right? :cool1: :rotfl2: :grouphug:

We have DVC ressies also. We're going to hang on to them until we hear plans, if any, from the Podcast crew. popcorn::

Mousefest was great, but the best part of it were the DISers I met and the DIS Unplugged TSM meet anyway, as well as the Tree Lighting Ceremony, and obviously, the DATW...so let's not write it off just yet, okay?

My thoughts exactly.

I am still going December 10-14.

I think I killed MouseFest.

I am disappointed like everyone else, I'm sure. I am up in the air right now. If I don't go in December, I will be able to get a new TV this year and have more money for my trip in April and maybe save a couple of vacation days to use for April as well.. I will have to discuss this with my usual December traveling companion and see what she wants to do. I KNOW I will be at Mousefest 2010.

We are going to try and make some sort of DIS meet up this year. So hopefully something will be going on.

I have to echo Mindy's thoughts too...

I didn't really attend many actual MF events when I went last year either. We snuck in on a few...I think the Muppets meet and a Star Tours meet...and of course MMM, but the best part of the whole trip was meeting the podcast crew and hanging out with my DIS friends.

I'll be hanging tight waiting to hear if the crew will have anything planned for that time frame before I decide! And while I can't commit to it just yet, I would do everything in my power to be there if the crew decides to do some fun stuff during that time frame! :thumbsup2

MINI-meet????? I highly doubt it'll be a MINI-meet, if the DIS is in any way involved....:cool1:

Mindy, I'm trying to gently sneak up on the powers that be here on the DIS. I don't want them to think they have to try to top last year (which would be extremely hard to do) and panic just yet.

Lets wait until they get past the Cruise before we put the pressure on! :surfweb:

Yeah, that would work for me. I'm sticking with the original planned dates for now, but I'm flexible.

Well, not as flexible as when I was young but that's a whole different story. :3dglasses

I was really hoping to go this year too! I am planning on the marathon in 2010 and probably the Race for the Taste or the ToT 13k if they have either of them again this year, so I guess I'll probably just do those instead.

I really want to be there with all of you.

We all have Dinner at Chef Mickey's for one of our meets. Can you imagine what the characters and the staff would do? I could be so much fiun!!!! Twirling napkins and all! :lmao:
