Hey, Hi, Hello, and How are ya?
Welcome to my 2nd attempt at making a TR half as good as the ones I read religiously (you know who you are). I live, think, and breathe WDW and anything Disney. As you can see from my name, picture, and sig- I love Tink! I love her so much I even put myself through getting a tattoo. I'll share that picture in a moment...
So, some of you may be wondering why I chose this title. Well, let's just say it was a must needed trip and I'm SO glad I was able to go with my family! We have been going to WDW every year since I was 3. And on the last day of my first trip there, my mom said that she had never seen a little girl cry as hard as I did when I found out we were leaving. I wanted to stay there forever! And to this day, I still cry on the last day (okay maybe not as hard as I did when I was 3). I'm a senior in college and took part in an internship over the summer at our local Lutheran Social Services. And do you know what the first thing I thought of was when I got the job?! "Oh no! I'm not going to get to go to WDW!" I cried. Yeah, I'm a big ol' sap.
We were also dealing with the loss of my aunt who left behind a 10 year-old and a now 2 year-old with my uncle. We've been helping him night and day. The 10 year-old my aunt had before she met my uncle, and the 2 year-old is my uncle's. He's the light of our lives and he's the only thing that's helped me keep going through this. So, I explained to my boss what the situation was and told her I really needed to get away from life at home and get myself together. She was completely understanding! I hurried and called my DDad and told him that I get to go! He got on the phone and added me to all their ADR's and to the room reservations! I do get to go! I do get to go!
Sadly, the only one that didn't get to go with us this trip was my Db/f. He got the gift of a lifetime with his uncles, grandpa, and dad to go to Chicagoland Speedway and ride the Richard Petty Driving Experience. His whole family is HUGE NASCAR fans! But, the day he went there was also the day we left for WDW! Bummer! But, he's been with us the past 3 years and I got to introduce him to my favorite place as he had never been before then!
Let's begin the introductions...

I've only been to Old Key West to visit. It is a beautiful place, and it would be awesome to stay there!
I am so glad you got to go on this trip. I know it was much needed. They all are! We have to get away from the stresses of everyday work and school and bills and chores and just life in general sometimes. What better place to do that than a place with rides, shows, music, food, and magic?!?!?
All that and plenty of SHOPPING!!! ;)
It's heaven on earth, I tell ya!
Brooklynn cried her way out of Magic Kingdom on our Thanksgiving trip.
Poor thing- Jill was pushing her in the stroller telling her it was time for us to leave, and she was saying, "My Magic Kingdom! My not go home. My go Magic Kingdom!" It was the most woeful little voice.
Jill turned to me and said, "She's pretty much saying what we're all feeling."
And she was right!

Hey here I am, I made it! :goodvibes
I'm so glad you're writing a TR and so excited to read it! You and your sister are both so pretty and I'm assuming thats your DBF in the pics and you guys are really cute together! I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your aunt :sad2: That's really a sad story but your uncle is so lucky to have family like you to help him through it with the kids, even when you guys are grieving yourselves.
Those pics from when you were little were soooo cute. How did your DBF like the Richard Petty Driving Experience? My BF loves cars and I wanted to do it for him in Orlando but its just so expensive.
Can't wait to read more! :thumbsup2

Hey girl! I should warn you..I don't remember exactly what we did each day because I didn't remember to bring a notebook to keep a daily journal so this TR will be more of a picture one...Hope that's okay :flower3:. Yep, that's my DBF..we've been together 6 years! Just moved into an apartment together this summer in the town that we go to college up in Wisconsin.
I'll share some pics of the 2 year-old with you if you want...Let me know and I'll PM you them!
I'm glad you liked my lil' kid pics! Those were the two that I could find that were on the computer at the time that I made the update.
DBF LOVED the Richard Petty Driving Experience. He's all about NASCAR and his own car...Yeah it is expensive, but it was so worth it. It will be something he'll remember forever. Maybe wait to surprise your DBF with for your honeymoon or birthday...
Glad to have met you! :cutie:

It's perfectly fine that you don't remember what you did each day, I'm not picky! lol I can't believe you and your BF have been together for 6 yrs! My BF and I have been together for a yr and 8 months and I think thats a long time  Thats really great for you guys though! So exciting that you guys moved in together too, I'm jealoussss! It's probably so much fun playing house ;)
Definitely PM me those pics, I would love to see them. Ever since my BF's sister had a baby back in April I have a new appreciation for the cuteness of babie.:cutie: The RPDE is probably so much fun, I'm happy to hear your DBF liked it. I would love to do it for my BF on our trip but it's definitely going to have to wait...probably more like our honeymoon than his bday because I doubt I'll have the money for it by his bday and our honeymoon's not gonna be for a least 3 or 4 more years :rotfl: Plus, I'm not sure where the closest one to us here in NY is. Its definitely great to have met you and cant wait to read more!

This will be the first deluxe we stay in someday! I have a mini-version of this totem pole, and it gives me happiness (and hope that we can stay there eventually) every time I see it.
Here's my little touch of Wilderness Lodge down in my den.

You were talking about not keeping a journal. I always have good intentions to take decent notes, but that fizzles out fast. I just let my pictures be my guide, but then I know there are things I forget because I didn't write them down. I think I just need to start having a tiny video camera attached to my sunglasses and have it on the whole trip!

Hey everyone! Thought I'd try and get some of Day 1 in before Christmas!
As some of you may remember from my last TR, we always drive to WDW and stop in Nashville, TN and Gainesville, FL before getting to WDW. So rewind back to June 14, 2008. It's 5 a.m. and my alarm goes off. It's the only time I'm happy to get up that early. I get out of bed...and start dancing :dance3:. Everyone is in the car and we're backing out of the driveway around 6 a.m. We stop about an hour and half into the trip and eat breakfast at Bob Evans. After breakfast, we're ready for the long trip to Nashville for the night! It was pretty uneventful with the occasional stops for gas, bathroom breaks, and just to stretch our legs.
We got into Nashville around 5 p.m. or so. We got checked into our usual hotel and headed back out to the car. As some of you may remember from my last TR, when in Nashville, we always go to Opryland Mall and walk around and eat at Rainforest Cafe. Here's a pic of us in the parking lot last year:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/WaltDisneyWorld07211.jpg
After we ate, we headed back to the hotel to get a good night's sleep before another long day in the car! Again, we woke up around 5 a.m. and left the parkinglot a little after 6 a.m. We drove about 2 hours and stopped at a Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Then, we began our long journey through the mountains and then our long journey through the long state of Georgia (geeze Dawn). We finally got into FL and into Gainesville around 5 or 6 p.m. We checked into our usual hotel and as some of you may remember from my last TR, we then head to Red Lobster :dance3:. We had the nicest waitress and told her we were heading to WDW and she asked if we had ever been there before. I laughed and said "This will be trip #19 for me!" After we ate, we headed to Walgreens to pick up some necessities that we had forgotten at home. Then, we headed back to the room to get ready for bed...And I started looking at some of my WDW books that I had gotten before we left. I already know pretty much everything they tell you in there (from the DIS), but I still like to read them.
I could not get to sleep. I never can the night before. Morning couldn't come fast enough. I kept waking up and checking the clock. Finally it was morning and time to get to WDW! We left our hotel and drove to Ocala to eat at our usual Bob Evans. Then, we were on the home stretch! Pretty soon we started seeing WDW billboards and I started my dancing and screaming. :woohoo: My DSis thinks I'm a freak because I do this every year:rolleyes:. Here's what we started seeing. Sorry some of them are blurry:

Driving under that sign is a wonderful feeling, but when you spot that first Disney bus, you know for sure you have arrived!!! You know you'll be riding on one of them yourself just as soon as you can get checked in!
That's great that your bus stop was right there. Old Key West is so pretty! Definitely it feels like a vacation spot! Just seeing those pictures makes me long for warm days. It is cold here!
Next time you come through Nashville, let us know. Anyone in the area (there are several of us - Erica, Sarilas, and I know there are more) could come down and meet you at the hippo! You know exactly where that is, right?

That's great that your bus stop was right there. Old Key West is so pretty! Definitely it feels like a vacation spot! Just seeing those pictures makes me long for warm days. It is cold here!
Next time you come through Nashville, let us know. Anyone in the area (there are several of us - Erica, Sarilas, and I know there are more) could come down and meet you at the hippo! You know exactly where that is, right?
I love spotting the 1st Disney bus! It's so exciting. OKW is gorgeous! No...I'm sorry I don't know where the hippo is. Forgive me? :flower3:
And to everyone:
Merry Christmas!!

The hippo is in the water right to the right of the entrance to RainForest Cafe. He grunts and raises his head. Brooklynn is just now realizing he's not real. She used to keep her distance, but she's getting a little braver.

But after staying at OKW, we wish we would've stayed there sooner! We can still go visit WL, which you'll see that we did later in my TR!

Day 1 Continued
We left off waiting at our bus stop for the MK bus! I was so antsy I couldn't sit still! Being that it was our first time to OKW, we didn't realize that there were so many other bus stops along the way! Luckily, we were one of the first stops before heading to the other ones so we were always guaranteed a seat! (Unless we gave them up for someone who needed it!) While waiting, it seemed like a bus for every other park came and went...and what was really fifteen minutes or so seemed like HOURS to me! I just wanted to get there already!
Finally a MK bus came! And we were on our way. I love getting on our first WDW bus! I love the purple seats, I love the little ads along the top, I love the new voice that talks about where we're going, I love the music that plays along with each park, and I love the anticipation of getting to the parks!
And finally, we went under the MK gates and headed under the water bridge and by the Contemporary. I could see WL through the trees and had to say hello to our old home and that we would be over to visit! Yes, I'm a big ol' sap. As we stepped off the bus and onto the pavement, I took a deep breath in. I was finally back to my happy place. My favorite place on Earth. And no matter how many times I've been there, I always get goosebumps.
We first went to find our stone with our names on it in front of the MK. Ours is towards the bus stops so we didn't have to walk far. Every year we always take a picture of one of each of our feet by our names. It's a tradition for us! I won't post that picture on here for personal purposes.
Walking under the Train Station!

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08015.jpg
After taking in all the sights of Main Street for the first time, we headed to our traditional first ride: The People Mover (Yes, we still call it that!) We love this ride so much that I can't keep track of how many times we ride it each trip! Here's some pics from our first ride around:

As I stated before, I didn't keep track of everything we did so here's some more pictures from the day! Sorry! :flower3:
After Mickey's PhillharMagic:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued017-1.jpg
After riding It's a Small World, we were stopped by a CM with a touch screen clipboard and were asked to answer a few questions about our experience on the ride. After she was done, we were given stickers and sent on our way. Darn it! I was hoping for some free fast passes or something!
While heading past the Haunted Mansion, a ton of people started running past us and we saw a huge flock of people holding their cameras up in the air to take a picture of someone! We wondered who it was, so we started speed walking (haha) around the crowd and into Frontierland to catch a glimpse of who all the fuss was about and got this picture:
It's Shaq! He was with his family (walking in front of him) and several CM's
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued018.jpg
Okay, I guess we didn't take very many pictures! So...let's fast forward to dinnertime! As some of you may remember from my last TR, we always eat at Chef Mickey's our first night there! We were excited to head over to the Contemporary and check out the new changes that had taken place since last time we were there. Here we are taking our time looking around before our reservations:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued019.jpg

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued022.jpg
Then, we headed downstairs to go outside and take our traditional picture in our Mickey ears.
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued027.jpg
As some of you may remember from my last TR, DSis and I always sit on the same side and try and do a different pose each year. Here's last year's pose with DB/F in there as well:

And here's this year's:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued028.jpg
But, before we got the good one, DDad was making faces and dancing funny behind DMom while she took our picture and we couldn't stop laughing:

And then we realized we could start heading up to the Concourse level! We checked our name in at Chef Mickey's and headed over to the Outer Rim lounge to get a drink while we waited for our buzzer to go off, which we always do when eating at CM. We weren't there 10 minutes and it went off! As some of you may remember from my last TR, I LOVE dancing, singing to the song, and twirling my napkin with everybody. Last year my DSis thought I was so entertaining she videotaped me! But sorry, I'm NOT sharing that with you. :cutie:

Hey! I'm glad you're here now! :woohoo: We had just a 1 bedroom, which is what we always get. Usually, it's DDad and DMom in the bedroom, me and DBF on the pull out couch and DSis on the air mattress. This year it was just me on the pull out :guilty:. Next year, we are going to try and get a 2 bedroom! DDad and DMom think it's time that me and DBF got our own room instead of having to sleep in the living room!

i have a confession to make....we didn't do a lot of shopping this trip. :guilty: i did take a picture of a couple of things for you but we were too busy looking at christmas decorations and FIGHTING CROWDS :headache: to do a whole lot of shopping. the only shops we went into were mouse gears, where i stayed all of 30 seconds once i got in there and saw the crowds, villians in vogue (which of course didn't have any tink stuff) and another little store across the way (which i will have a picture from), the christmas store at MK, the art of disney store (which i will have a picture from) at MK and that's about it! pathetic, i know. :sad2: the crowds were just too heavy this time for us to feel like we had time to shop, ya know? we were too busy running everywhere to get everything in! i was exhausted.
I really like your Jim Shore pieces. I bought a Mickey Santa in Nov 07'. I didn't pick one out when I was there in Oct 08', but I got a really cute Mickey with Santa from my DSIL this weekend. She didn't even know that I started to collect them. I was very happy when I opened that Christmas present.
I really like OKW, the rooms are Huge! I also like the theme and colors of the resort. Fun pictures from the CR too.

I love all your new treasures! I thought of Dawn as soon as I saw the Peter Pan ones, because I knew she had gotten some of those this year. I thought I would come home from our November trip with the Jim Shore Christmas Eeyore, but I had to be very tight with the money this time, so I'll save it for a future trip when there's more room in my souvenir budget.
Looks like a fun night at Chef Mickey's!
The feeling when you arrive at Magic Kingdom is easy to relate to if you 'get it' like we do. People who don't really understand the magic have fun, usually, and enjoy being there, but some of us just get that special feeling being there!

It was so cool we saw Shaq! I called DBF right after I took the picture and said "Guess who I'm looking at?!" and He goes "Um....Mickey?" and I said "No! Shaq!" He's like "Oh...cool." I used to love that Aaron Carter song too! I saw Aaron in person once..in front of Rock 'n Rollercoaster! He was with a group of people that looked like his dancers and then a body guard. We were in the fast pass line and then they let Aaron and his group walk on and we had to wait to go on because they let him ride as many times as he wanted!
You know we love Chef Mickey's. The table right next to me that you can see in my pic of me swinging my napkin, they were getting mad at me for singing and dancing and kept giving me dirty looks. If they don't want to have fun, then why come to WDW?!

Hey Soleil! I'm so glad you're here! You are so nice! I know it might be weird being 21 and still going to WDW with your family, but I love every minute of it! This year was especially hard because I was missing my little guy at home (the 2 year old). We are thinking of possibly taking him next year for his first time! Day 2: June 17th, 2008
After getting much needed sleep after finishing our traveling, we woke up and were ready to really be at WDW! It's so exciting waking up knowing that there's fun waiting ahead of you at whatever park you're going to that day. Even though I'm 21, I love that WDW can make you feel like a kid again.
Today, we decided that this would be our DTD day. I don't remember why we made this decision for this particular day, but go with me on it . After getting ready, we headed to our bus stop just around the corner. OKW bus stops have the nicest little areas for the bus stops. There's several benches under an awning, a pop machine, and ceiling fans (attempting) to keep you cool while you wait. Here we are on our bench that we usually sat at every morning:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08017.jpg
I'm sure some of you have seen the poster that's behind me, even though you can't really tell what it is. It has a beautiful picture of Cinderella Castle and there's Tinkerbell and pixie dust swirling all around and says something about "Where the Magic Lives".
Finally, our bus came. We never really had a long wait for busses the whole trip which was nice! Here we are on the way:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08019.jpg
Since OKW is in the DTD area, it wasn't a long bus ride at all! First stop after arriving at the Marketplace, the Christmas shop! We always go here first every trip. My DSis, DBF, and I always get to pick out one ornament to put on the tree. My DMom writes our name and the year under our ornament. This year I picked out Tinkerbell in her Christmas outfit sitting on a snowflake. DSis picked out a ballerina Minnie Mouse. I had to pick out DBF's this year and found a Lightening McQueen one because he loves cars and the movie "Cars".
After the Christmas shop, we always go out and pose by the Christmas statues they have nearby. This year, I got an idea "Hey! Why don't we take a good picture and use it in our Christmas cards this year!" And then I said, "Why the heck haven't I thought of that before?! We take one year every year!" Here's the two that turned out the best:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued037.jpg
We ended up going with this one:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued041.jpg
Of course, after the Christmas shop, we headed to our next favorite store: The World of Disney! This store is freaking enormous so we made sure all of us had our cell phones out and on in case we lost each other! I know I bought some stuff here, but I can't remember what I got for the life of me! As some of you can guess, it was Tinkerbell stuff though! :cutie:
Then, we headed over to the Disney ESPN store and that store that's connected to it that has Roxy and Billabong stuff. I found a really cute Billabong tote bag and bought that. I also saw a really cute dress that I thought would be perfect for my birthday which was in July. I turned 21 and we had a "luau" on our deck so everyone dressed in Hawaiian stuff! I remembered that there is also a store like this in Adventureland over by the Magic Carpets, so I decided to wait and look there before buying a dress.
I can't remember what else we did there, but before long we realized that we needed to head back to OKW because we were planning on having lunch there before heading to the MK. (Yes, we go to the MK a lot) We rode the bus there, so we decided to ride the boat back and see what that was like. It was so much fun! There was so much beautiful scenery! Here we are waiting on the boat for it to take off:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08020.jpg
And here we are approaching the edge of OKW:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued042.jpg
After getting off the boat dock, I saw a pretty opportunity for a picture and made DMom take it  :
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued044.jpg
We decided to grab a quick lunch at the CS by the pool area. While DDad and DMom were ordering, we found a quiet little area of two tables right outside Olivia's Cafe. It was nice because we were off on our own and in the air conditioning! Here we are eating our dessert. As you can tell, my DSis loves chocolate  :

DDad trying not to laugh at DSis's pose in the first pic:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued046.jpg
We then decided to walk around the pool area because we haven't stayed here before. Here we are sitting at a table right before DSis wanted to take a picture of the flower right by here. She's so random sometimes. :

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08024.jpg
After walking around, we decided to head to the bus stop by the lobby and head to the MK because we were having dinner at Tony's that night. Another one of our favorites! I know there's been mixed reviews on here about it, but we've never had a problem.
After getting to the MK, can you guess what our first ride was? If you guessed the People Mover, you are correct!
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08025.jpg
Then, I think we headed over to Adventureland so I could look at the dresses there and I ended up buying one! After that, we decided to take a ride on the Magic Carpets because there was barely a line!
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued049.jpg
I don't remember what we did after that, but eventually it was time for our ADR at Tony's so we headed toward the front. The waiting area at Tony's is always packed but we were lucky and got a bench seat. This was probably the longest we had to wait for a table the whole trip. After eating, I don't remember exactly what we did. I know we rode Winnie the Pooh one time because I was wearing my Pooh shirt! Here's some pics we took on the People Mover (yes we rode it again!):

I remember that we sometime rode the Pirates because right afterwards, we could hear Spectro so we hurried to Frontierland and got a spot. I'm so sorry that some of these pictures are blurry. Our camera was acting up a lot this trip!

Yeah, we'll always call it "the people mover". And we'll always call DHS "MGM". Well I'm glad you liked our Christmas pics! We always get told we are so photogenic! I'm glad you like my shirt for today! I love showing you them since I can't hang out with you. Yeah me and my sis have always been close. I was 4 when she was born and she's been "my baby" ever since. I gave her her first bath...used to feed her in her high chair all the time. They have pictures of me sitting on the kitchen table with my feet on her feet thing of her high chair. And still now today, I feel like she's my baby. Especially when she's doing something like cheering. Okay, I'll post pictures of my party on our deck when I get a chance so you can see my dress AND see my little guy.:)

2008 was by far the fastest year everrrr! You and your DSis are definitely photogenic. Thats too funny about the senior pictures. It certainly wasn't the case for me. I had to have re-takes because the first ones came out TERRIBLE. In my defense, it was raining the first time I took them and made my hair fro out really badly. The second time I took them it was a beautiful day out so I was in luck

My 2008 Review
2008 was a whirlwind of a year for me...Wow where to begin to explain..I'll try my best...
January
Throughout the beginning of January, I was packing and getting ready to transfer to a new college that my B/F goes to. I was nervous, scared, and excited at the same time. In my application letter, I requested the new dorm building that my B/F was in because the rooms there were suites! There was a living room, a kitchen, two bathrooms, and each of us (4 to a suite) had our own room! When I got my letter in the mail telling me what dorm I was in and who my roommates were, I was so excited to find out I was in the dorm I requested! And to make things better, I realized I was in the room right next to my B/F! He practically just lived in my room with me and only went to his room to get ready in the morning. I started e-mailing my other roommates and got to know them. I am now really close with one of them.
Now, another important thing happened in January. We have this family that my family is really good friends with. In September of 2007, the dad had a heart attack and passed away. At the time of his death, their two sons were 4 and 3. The 4 year old was talking to the dad when he had the heart attack. The boys were pretty shook up. And to make matters worse, they had just found out the day before he died that they were pregnant again. He said it was going to be a girl, so that's what we were hoping for. We're so close with them, that the mom invited my mom, sis, and me to go with her and the boys to the sonogram in January to find out the sex of the baby. We had to keep it a secret from everyone else until the baby was born though! And guess what it was?! A GIRL! When the nurse told us, we all started crying. It was a surreal moment to not have the dad there with us. The dad's name was Brian so the mom decided to name the baby Brianna after him. She was born in May and looks exactly like him. The other day she was in her high chair, and Steph (the mom) was in the laundry room and heard Brianna laughing hysterically. Steph peeked around the corner and saw Brianna just looking up laughing like someone was standing next to her and playing with her. We think it was Brian. :)
Here we are just pulling up to my dorm building to check-in:

Here's my sis and I while unloading the car:

February
B/F and I come home every weekend because we are big family people. We love being at home and miss them during the week. My sis is a cheerleader at her high school so we'd usually go watch her cheer on Friday nights at the home basketball games. My little cousin would usually come with us and he loves to cheer with us. Here's some pics we took at a game:
He loves to be with Papa. He calls him "Pa" but it sounds like "Paw" :

He'd clap when we made a basket:

At halftime, he always has to run down and see my sis. She loves showing him off to her friends:

March
Finally, March had come and Spring Break was here! My roommate that I had become good friends with and her boyfriend came down to visit us for a few days. We showed them around and had a party of one of my B/F's friend's house who also goes to college with us so he knows them too. My roommate had already met my parents, so I wanted her to meet my uncle, my aunt, and my step-cousin, and my little cousin. I'm so glad she did because who know the next week would change my life forever...
Sunday was Easter, so we went to Granny's and celebrated Papa's birthday which was Wednesday as well. It was so weird, because when I went to leave, I had this feeling that I was going to miss my aunt more than usual so I gave her a HUGE hug and picked her up! Who knew that would be my last time seeing her...We got along with her so well..She was 28 and my uncle was 39 so there was a bit of an age difference but you could never tell.
I went back to school Monday and on Wednesday, my mom calls me to tell me that she and my sis had to take my aunt to the hospital because her migrain medicine wasn't working and she wanted to get her medicine changed. My mom and sis sat with her in the waiting room for 3 hours and she seemed fine...I don't want to get into detail about everything but..on Thursday my sister calls and says "I need you to sit down." I had just gotten back to my dorm from having dinner with my B/F, our two friends, and my roommate so they were all in the living room with me. I said "Okay...." And she goes "Aunt Leslie died". And I screamed, "What?!" and started bawling and screaming so loud. I had to give the phone to my B/F so he could get more information because I couldn't breathe, speak, or think. I just sat down and was shaking and crying. To make a long story short...she um...chose to...I don't want to say anything else about it..but I miss her so much. My grandma has basically been living at my uncle's because this was my uncle's first baby (He just turned 2) and he was still learning because he was always away at work while my aunt stayed home. So, I began coming home every weekend to take care of the baby so grandma could go home and get some rest. He has become like my own child and I care for him more than anything in the world. He is the light of my life and what has kept me going through all of this. I began going to therapy in the summer and now am on anti-depressants and doing better each day..it's been a long road, but I'll get there...

I'm sorry to hear of the sadness that came to your family this past year, but through it all, you have also seen strength, support, joy, and an abundance of love, and I'm sure you have all drawn closer and more appreciative of one another as you have coped with it all.
I got a kick out of the cheerleaders going ga-ga over the little guy. I've watched that happen many times as my kids were growing up. Classmate would bring in little friends, cousins, or whoever, and all the girls would ooh and aah over them. So sweet. The boys usually just kept playing basketball or soccer or whatever they were doing and didn't pay much attention to the little one. They focused on the practice or the game and saved their oohing and aahing for the big girls later on! ;)
The John Deere cake was cute. John is a big John Deere man and has great memories of spending time with his grandfather doing things with, on, and around tractors. If they ever have a boy, a little John Deer outfit will be in his wardrobe, I'm sure.
Thanks for sharing your family with us. We'll look forward to seeing more pictures of that happy Disney trip you were able to take. Seems like it was a very needed and well-deserved getaway for you all.

your nephew is so cute!!!! i'm so glad he has someone like you in his life. he's a very lucky boy. and i'm so sorry to hear about your aunt and your family friend that had the heart attack. you're such a good person for stepping up like you did to help care for your nephew.
Yeah, I'm sorry I took your idea of the review :flower3:. I blame Mel. She talked me into it.
Just to tell you that the little guy is my cousin, not nephew. It's okay, I might've worded it weird. I'm glad you think he's cute. I love sharing pictures with you.

Thanks so much for joining in!
So sorry to hear about your Aunt and family friend. It is always hard to lose someone you care about. You have many positive things in your life, and seem to find the goodness in those around you. Thank you for sharing your past year. Time heals.
Thanks. So glad you're here! I'll be adding the next few months soon and adding more of WDW trip!

April
We entered April with heavy hearts. It hurt me to think that my little guy is never going to know his mommy. So, I have taken it upon myself to finish his baby book and make photo albums for him. We also have a measuring chart up on the wall to measure him each month to watch him grow. We have also taken him to get his 18 months and 2 year pictures so far. Me, him, and Papa are the only ones in our family with blonde hair so whenever I have him somewhere they always think he's mine. And I'm bad....I go along with it. :flower3: :cutie:
Also, I forgot to mention, during these months B/F and I were looking for apartments in our college town and found a great one! We signed the lease and could move in at the beginning of June! I was so excited! See...I have a little OCD and anxiety, so that was the only hard part of living with other people that I have never met before. Not very many people know that outside my family, so you should all feel special that I'm sharing these things with you! And let me tell you, the apartment has helped ease my nerves so much!
Early April, we celebrated my B/F's 20th birthday:

He likes riding this backwards:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/momscameraprom006.jpg
He loves us to read to him:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/momscameraprom013.jpg
We always have to put this tent up in the living room for him when he comes over my house:

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/momscameraprom007.jpg
And the week after, sis's cheerleading squad performed a dance at the halftime of our local arena football game. It's also the place that has concerts and many of the Disney on Ice shows so it was a big deal for her! Here she is with our step-cousin after she performed:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/momscameraprom005.jpg
Late April, sis was dating a guy from another school and got invited to his Prom! Every dance, our family friend (the wife of the guy who had the heart attack) always does our make-up because she's a Mary-Kay lady. Here sis is with the boys and the mom (who was ready to pop in May!):

We had to go over and show Granny, Papa, Uncle, and the little man how good she looked:

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/momscameraprom044.jpg
He loves carrying my purse around and putting on my shoes. Every time I'm there. He thinks he's hot stuff in my shoes:

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/momscameraprom047.jpg
Here we are at her b/f's house (they have broke-up since then):

May
May had finally come and B/F and I were done for the semester! I had survived my first semester away from home! :woohoo: During May, I also had my job interview for my internship at Lutheran Social Services (which you already know I got!) I then found out I was able to go to WDW and began getting stuff together for that as well. Sorry I don't have any pictures from this month.
June
June 2nd was my first day on the job. My hours were 8-5 every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with an hour break for lunch. It was long long long hours when you're the new one and can't really do everything that the experienced social workers were. I just tagged along to every outing they had to meet with clients, supervise home visits, or even to court hearings.
June 14th we left for WDW! And you are finding out how that went.
Up next: July, August, and September

I had no idea you were dealing with so much, I hope you're doing OK  On a brighter note, your little cousin is the absolute cutest thing! Those chubby cheeks and big, blue eyes are adorable :goodvibes It's an amazing thing what you're doing, stepping in to almost play "mom," and making sure he has everything he needs. You'll both be so close and I know he'll appreciate it in the future :cutie:

July
Finally it was July! The month of my birthday! We had a luau out on our deck and made margaritas! I can't show all the pictures because some of them contain alcoholic beverages, but I'll show you some of them! I'm also wearing the dress that I mentioned buying in Adventureland at the MK:

He had a ball playing with this fountain. He eventually put his Sunny D in it  :

A week after my birthday, I was allowed to get my other birthday present: my 2nd tattoo! The bird is for my grandparents because they love to bird watch, the flower is for my Aunt who passed away, and the "Live, Laugh, Love" is for my friend who passed away in a car accident when we were Seniors. The quote was on her program for her visitation/funeral.

August
Sis's birthday month!
The little guy loves sitting on my B/F's lap and help him with whatever he's doing:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/akbday001.jpg
We got him a ball pit to play in at our house. We also set up a little tv so he can watch his movies and we can still watch our shows on the big tv  :
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/akbday010.jpg
Here's the shirt we got the little guy at WDW. He's poking his eye because he's telling me he wants to hold the camera  :
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/akbday013.jpg
We decided to draw on the sidewalk with chalk:

September
School started back up :guilty:. But, it was exciting being our first semester in our apartment! We still come home every weekend. And went to all the home football games to watch my sis cheer.
He fell asleep like this while over at our house one day:

The little guy made me take him down to sis. He picked up her poms and was yelling  :

Finally, the end of the semester and Christmas! I got 2 A's and 3 B's! Yay! :woohoo: And then it was Christmas, which you'll eventually see what I got!
Well, I hope you enjoyed my year in review...and now back to the trip! As planned: Up next: Epcot...It officially hates us!

I love your dress! It's so pretty! And I really love your hair like that, I'm thinking of cutting mine kind of the same for the summer. Your area looks so pretty! Your backyard reminds me of my fam's summer house on LI, it looks just like that. I love all the greenery, coming from a place where a tree is as woodsy as we get!
Your cousins ADORABLE! I know I said it before but seriously, he's too cute! I love that picture of his sleeping  Aw!!! I love your tattoo, too. I'm glad you like my dress! It was so comfy. I'm going to wear it if we get ADR for the luau this year! My haircut was great for summer! You'd look cute with it. All I had to do in the morning after my shower was: I'd bobby-pin it in that half-up thing...and then blow-dry the rest which took seriously no time at all, then use this gel stuff to smooth it out so it wasn't all static-y. It stayed that way all day! I'm glad you like my house/area! It's so pretty during the summer. The little guy is probably the best thing that's ever happened! He's now talking up a storm. When you tell him no to something he says "Yeah I do" really fast. It's so funny. And now he says "Yes sir" which we have no clue where he got from. My first tattoo is Tinkerbell on my hip by my belly button. The little guy thinks he has one on his belly too. He calls her "Belle" and always has to touch her.

Day 3: June 18, 2008
Epcot Day...And after that day, we decided it officially hates us.
When we got up, we got ready and headed to our bus stop. It was looking pretty dark/cloudy out so we were hoping the rain would go around us or hold out until we were sleeping later that night!
Here we are on the bus:

I love taking pictures of the banners:

Here's are traditional Epcot picture:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued076.jpg
I can't remember when we did everything, but I can tell you what we mainly did. We did go on Spaceship Earth because it was last year it was closed and we wanted to see the new additions! The video at the end of our "future" was hilarious. Sis and I rode together and we were laughing during the whole video.
We also did Nemo because we love that ride! The only thing I don't like is the line: you think you're getting close to the front and then you enter another room! :headache: Sometime in there, we went to TT and got fast passes. After getting fast passes, we went to the Electric Umbrella and ate lunch because we had never eaten there before. We usually eat at the Sunshine Seasons, but I wanted to be a rebel and try something new. And just a tip: when you eat there, be sure to go upstairs! While it was packed downstairs, we found so many empty tables upstairs! We got one right next to the big glass wall so we could people watch as we ate. While we were eating, these guys had come out down below on the other side of the glass wall. They were playing the drums and singing on these garbage cans. Does anyone know who they are?
As we were done eating.....that's when it hit....the RAIN! :scared: It never fails, every time we are at Epcot, it rains the whole day! So we decided that we weren't going to let a little rain ruin our day. We started walking past TT and it started raining HARDER. So we went over by the TT gift shop and sat under the enterance roof. And sat.....And sat....And sat. Here we are sitting:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08038.jpg
And here's some crazy people running around. I was afraid one of them was going to fall and break something!
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08045-1.jpg
We decided to head into the gift shop when it looked like it wasn't going to be a typical Florida short-n-sweet shower. Of course, sis made me get in the cars with her:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued077.jpg
While here, I bought a new hat for B/F because he always gets one here every year. Now, I don't know if this is true but I'm just saying what the CM there told us: He said that lightening had struck somewhere and shut down all the rides at all 4 parks! We asked if we can still use our fast passes even way after our return time if TT doesn't start back up. And he said we could, but it might be awhile before they get things running again.
Finally, the rain had cleared! We walked out of the gift shop and could hear the TT cars going by overhead. They had started?! We saw people getting in the fast pass return line and decided to get in it because our time had passed. It was a pretty long line, but we didn't care. Soon, we noticed we weren't moving anywhere and looked up front and the doors to TT were closed! People started going up to the CM's and asking what the deal was. We heard someone say that the CM's said that TT is still closed and the reason cars are going by is because they have to get all of the cars back in sync with each other before they can begin loading again. Soon the stand-by line was going WAY past us and soon we couldn't even see the end! By this time, everyone decided to start sitting down. And this is when we came to the conclusion: Epcot officially hates us.
We sat there for who knows how long. Soon, people in front of us started leaving. We were working our way up to the front and sis and I told mom that we weren't leaving this line unless the CM's tell us that TT won't be open for the rest of the day. People kept leaving....and finally when they opened the ride, we were second family in line! :woohoo:
After we got off, we decided to walk around the world before ending up in Canada, which is where we were eating dinner.
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08047.jpg
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08048.jpg
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08052.jpg
Well...we made it to about France and it started POURING again. We sat under a table with an umbrella and hoped it would be gone soon.
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08056.jpg
We started shivering...and our ADR was fastly approaching so we decided to make a run for it all the way to Canada. Okay we weren't really running, more like speed walking. We were SOAKED by the time we made to it Le Cellier. This was our first time ever eating there. And of course, the place was air conditioned so I was freezing the whole time. But, we had a great waiter and the food was wonderful! So, we decided that this was going to be a ADR for us next year. When we emerged, nighttime had arrived:

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08060.jpg
We were going to catch a boat and head over to DHS (MGM for us) for evening EMH's. After getting off the boat at MGM, we decided we were all so tired that we wanted to call it a night since we were going to MGM again tomorrow.
Up next: DHS and dinner at the Poly

Just been lounging and stuff...trying not to think about getting ready to go back to school! :scared: But..the week hasn't been good for my sis. A guy in her grade killed himself Sunday night. Tomorrow is the funeral and her whole grade is going on two busses. She wasn't going to go at first because we aren't at the best state for funerals but when she found out her whole grade was going, her friends promised to take good care of her.

Haha, well part of the reason was because it was POURING and the other part was because that was the 50th picture that sis took of us sitting there and I was getting annoyed.
Yeah, I thought of our day when I read your part of walking through Epcot in the downpour! If I can remember, that was our only really bad day of the trip.

She wasn't really close with him, but they did bond together when they did 8th grade confirmation together.
I'm glad you like my tattoos! You have 5?! You must PM me then! They are so addicting aren't they? I'm thinking of ideas for another one...I want to get one on the back of my neck kinda lower towards my back. I need help though...I gotta ask my parents if they're okay with it. They were obviously okay with the first two. But it took awhile for them to say yes. What should I say to them?! Haha, I feel like a little kid. HI!!!
I love your OKW pics...I"m not sure what area yall were in, we rode the bus around the whole resort a few times, since we were the last stop, but I didn't really get the whole layout. I love it, I'm glad you guys loved it so much too! Cool that we both discovered it this year!
That sucks about all the rain at Epcot that day. But at least you were still able to have some fun. I love your Ariel tshirt too!

Day 4: June 19, 2008
Today we headed over to MGM....and yes we'll always call it MGM.
When we first got there, we headed back to get fast passes for Toy Story Mania since it had just opened and we knew the line would be LONG. And boy were we right! Luckily, they still had fast passes and the return time was for later in the afternoon. So we decided to make that one of our last stops before heading to the Poly for our dinner ADR.
I guess we headed to the Backlot Tour next.
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued080.jpg
We're bad...:flower3: We've seen the water/boat scene so many times that we just keep walking past that and through to the loading area. There was still a line to get on the trams so we took some pics while we waited. But, we were still able to get on that tram instead of waiting for the next one. :

After getting off the Backlot Tour, we headed over to Walt's One Man's Dream. It's so sad that so many people skip this attraction. It's a must for us every trip. I'm always so fascinated with how WDW and Disneyland got started. And in a way, I feel like we are paying respect to Walt by going to this attraction. We took more pics, but this is the only one that didn't turn out blurry:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08085.jpg
I don't remember what we did next, but our next pics are from my favorite:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08087.jpg
So we headed over there. Mom always has to take a pic of this:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued079.jpg
They were already letting people in when we got there, but we still managed to get a seat at least 10 rows from the stage! It was the closest we've ever been!

After the show, we stopped and looked at some of the shops along that area. We went in the home store and found some new kitchen stuff we wanted and had that sent back to the room! I love being able to do that instead of having to carry everything with us the rest of the day!
Eventually, we headed back to TSM to use our fast passes!
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued078.jpg
I was so excited to finally ride this! Even fast passes had a little bit of a wait, so we took pictures while in line:

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08118.jpg
The ride was awesome!!!! We couldn't wait to do it again when we came back for EMH! We still had some time before we needed to head to the Poly, so we rode the Great Movie Ride. By the time we got off, it was time to start heading to the Poly bus stop.

We always get there a bit early so we can look around and explore the place. Even though we've been there so many times we know our way around with our eyes closed. I had heard that they opened a new sushi bar over by Kona Cafe, so I had to get some while we waited for our buzzer to go off at Ohana. Sis doesn't like it so much  :
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued081.jpg
I went to the bathroom in the ones by Ohana and couldn't help but remember reading a post of someone washing their hands in the sink next to Kelly Ripa. After we ate all that yummy food, can you guess where we went? Yep, the MK again. Can you tell it's our favorite?!
You can kinda tell, but this is the Contemporary from the monorail on our way to the MK:

Hey, just joining your report, can't believe I am so late :sad2:
I haven't caught up yet but wanted to comment whilst I still remembered so you may get a few consecutive posts by me commenting. First off I am so glad you managed to go on this trip, I know how good Disney can be for forgetting about everyday life and just having a blast, I hope it helped you.
First off how long is the drive for you, it seems to be forever. You must have the patience of a saint, I get bored in the car after a couple of hours. Can I ask what hotel you stay in in Nashville, we are looking to go there this year along with Pigeon Forge and Atlanta and are looking into hotels to stay in. From Nashville to Georgia, where exactly do you drive through, you mentioned mountains? And how long is the drive? Sorry for all the questions I am just really interested in this area, especially as we plan to visit soon. Anyway it sounds like your road trip to Disney is a lot of fun, I wish I could just drive there.
OKW looks really nice. We have driven up the river to there on a boat a couple of times and it looks really tropical and laid back, just like the real thing. I must add it to my list to stay one day, hopefully when I can convince DBF to buy into DVC ;). Day one looks great, looking forward to reading the rest :thumbsup2

I love your Disney Traditions, they are so cute. I have never seen those over here before, I will have to keep an eye out for them when I am there. I am not suppose to be collecting them as I collect WDCC which costs far to much as it is, but my Grandad buys them for me, and they are just too cute.
I love your Disney outfits, they are so cute. And your old pictures are so nice to look at, I bet they bring back some lovely memories. It looks like you had a great first day, I love Chef Mickeys its so fun. And your pictures in the ears are great, you guys have some lovely traditions. I really like the people mover too but unfortunately its closed when we go along with Space Mountain, one of my favorites.
Day 2 sounds great. For the past 2 trips we have spent our first whole day at DTD, we find it a great way to start the holiday, shopping and relaxing. And I am glad to hear good reviews about Tony's, we really want to try it. Although we haven't scheduled it in on our itinerary yet I hope we may make a sneaky visit.
Ok, off to read some more.

Geeze...1992? That's a long time ago!
The sushi bar was great! They had little tables around the area if you wanted to dine there, but we wanted to move closer to Ohana and sit in the big comfy chairs/couches.

Well...I just mapquested to see the exact distance from my house to Old Key West..and it's: 19 hours and 17 minutes and 1225 miles! The car ride isn't too bad. We have a built-in dvd player so we watch a ton of Disney movies!
We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Nashville. It's not too far from Opryland Mall. I went to Pigeon Forge in 2005 with my B/F and his family! You will love it there! It's gorgeous and so laid back. From Nashville to Georgia, we drove through the end of the Appalachian Mountains. I just also mapquested to see the distance from Nashville to Atlanta: 4 hours and 2 minutes and 249.27 miles!

Wow thats a long drive. Its strange to think even though you live so much closer it actually takes me less time to get there, and I have to travel over the Atlantic too. And in-car DVD's are life savers aren't they, we got some for our trip last year and watched loads of cheesy movies like Bring it On, Honey and Step Up, DBF was not too impressed
Oh we do love it in PF. We went for my Mum's 50th last August and stayed in a cabin in the mountains. We loved it so much we just have to go back again this August. In fact DBF and I would love to move there. So far I would love to stay in the Galord Opryland but we will have to see once we have priced up flights and the cabin and car etc. Driving through the Appalachian mountains sounds great, was it really nice scenery. We plan to go from PF to Nashville and back to Georgia but will probably go via Lynchburg and maybe Huntsville so don't know if we will go through the mountains. I guess I need to do some more research :confused3

So my school schedule is Mondays 8:30-1, Tuesdays 5:30pm-8 and Wednesdays 8:30-1 and 5:30-8...the Tuesday night class is literally 5 mins from my house though because the college I'm going to has a campus there but it's the smaller campus. So, all my classes except that one are farther away. I'll work Tues, Thurs, Fri and Sat all day. Here's the short version of what I'm doing this semester...because I was a poli sci and psych major as an undergrad and then decided after I graduated I wanted to do social studies ed, I am deficient in history classes because I never had to take them in my undergrad studies. Any history type classes I needed were satisfied by my poli sci classes but that doesn't work for social studies ed so now this semester I'm taking 4 undergrad history classes and 1 economics class to get me caught up. I'm taking undergrad credits, even though I have my degree. Annoying. I always have to be indecisive  I start on the 26th. What classes are you taking and what's your sched like?
Great pics from DHS. I can't wait to ride TSMM! Just the queue area gets me excited. And I can't wait to see B&tB, idk if I've ever seen it before!

Since he and Kristi broke up, he is starting over. He'll find a new job and a new girl, and hopefully it'll be the start of great things for his future. He is such a personable guy and takes any job he does seriously, so whatever he ends up doing, he'll do it well. And, even though I'm his mom, I'll have to say I think he's pretty handsome, too, so he'll be a good 'catch' for a sweet girl, and I'm sure he'll feel that she's a good catch for him, too. So, if you know any interested parties, tell them to look him up. MeMom, the matchmaker, will be trying to hook him up so I can have the pleasure of more grandchildren.
He'd kill me dead two or three times over if he knew I was writing this! :scared1:
He's enjoyed his time off for the holidays, and is so glad he doesn't have to fight the traffic at school any more. He's much more relaxed than he was last semester, which is nice for everyone.
Good luck with all of your teaching stuff. There is so much testing now and so much pressure. Unfortunately, it won't take long for this profession to beat you down. We had another meeting today where we were presented a notebook full of new data on a program we were told we wouldn't be responsible for, but now we're told we are. It's alway something. I try not to get aggravated by it, because I'm glad I have a job, but even two of the new teachers were saying how ridiculous it was and how contradictory they so often are and how burdened they feel.

I like sweet guy-gets-the-girl movies, and they like anything with shooting and suspense.
Good luck to all of you girls and guys in school. Trent just got his diploma last week, so it's off to the real world now for him!
GUESS WHAT?! HE SAID WE COULD GO TO BRIDE WARS! It was so good. There were other guys there with their g/f's so I told him "See, you're not the only guy here!" Thanks so much for the good luck...I'll have my Bachelor's Degree in December! :woohoo:
I'm waiting for BF to get off of work too...someone has to bring home the bacon  That sounds like a nice night, Yes Man looks funny. I'm DYING to see Bride Wars. We can go together lol BF and I got into a fight yesterday and my friend that I work with said I should wait until today and make him go see it with me to make it up to me that he was mean...didn't work out so well :confused3 :rotfl2:
You HAVE to go see Bride Wars! B/F said we could go once we got down there! :woohoo: I wish we could've gone together. I have a feeling we'd be doing ALOT together since we get along so well. And by the way....my B/F brings the bacon home too  My job? Watching the little guy :)
So, if you know any interested parties, tell them to look him up. MeMom, the matchmaker, will be trying to hook him up so I can have the pleasure of more grandchildren.
He'd kill me dead two or three times over if he knew I was writing this! :scared1:
Your secret is safe with us! :cutie:
Oh I want to see both of those movies, and hopefully can convince Nick to see both with me. I will just not tell him what its about, or use the "I watched James Bond for you" story
As you might've read above..he said we could go to Bride Wars! It was so good! And OMG, I gave him that line today too! I said, "I went to Indiana Jones with you so you can do this with me!"

Okay. I saw just noticed the link in your posts so I had to come over and check out your thread. I went through all 10 pages. Wow girl...you have had some year. Good and bad. Sorry about the bad stuff.
You and your sister look so different! You're both knock outs though! :thumbsup2 I love the Tink tat and your newer one is really cool too. It has a lot of meaning in it and I like that. I think it's neat how you guys take pics at the Contemporary every year. Can I steal that idea? We've never even taken a picture there!
Your little cousin is adorable. He is lucky to have you in his life. Your family wouldn't happen to be John Deere fans would ya? ;) My father in law in a big fan too.

Sorry for joining the TR so late but I've been away for a while and just coming back. Thank you so very much for sharing this TR. It looks like you had a wonderful time. I'm excited about going in June.
And like you I always get upset on the last day, knowing we have to leave..I know I'll get like that this time as well. But it was fun reading your TR!! :)

I didn't know he and Kristi broke up...thats a bummer because break-ups are just so hard to do. And he is definitely handsome (not trying to hit on your son or anything haha) so I'm sure he'll have no problem finding a new girl. Much luck to him in finding a job and for his future. I'm sure you'll get more of those adorable grandbabies and don't worry I won't even tell him you said anything ;)
Thank you! Speaking of testing I just picked up the review book for the LAST because I'm taking that in Feb. Then theres 2 more tests along with 2 workshops, fingerprinting on top of classes. Ugh! I'm looking forward to teaching but I know there will be some downs to go with the ups. Thanks for the info MeMom :)
And thank you Tink for letting me hi-jack you thread there! :goodvibes

Now I'm really dyinggg to see it! He mentioned going to the movies tomorrow night so I'll have to do my best to get him to agree to it lol I wish we could go together, that would be so cool. I definitely think we'd be such good friends if we didn't live a million miles apart :sad2: Your job is definitely better than mine OR my BF's...mine=stupid bank teller, BF's=cable technician. I think you win by a landslide! :goodvibes

Welcome! I'm glad you joined! I'm uploading pics for a new update as I type this! Yeah, it was a crazy year. I know me and sis don't look alike. I'm my dad and she's my mom. Can you tell she got the Native American side? Which means a permanent tan all year around for her! Glad you like my tattoos! :) And yes you can steal that idea...but if you mention them in a TR, you MUST mention me. haha just kidding. Yeah the little guy is a cutie. Are we John Deere fans? I don't know how you got that idea;) Yes we are! We are from where John Deere originated!

Day 5: June 20, 2008
AK day! We got up, got ready, and caught a bus to AK. Sorry so short but I didn't keep track of every detail. Here we are on the bus:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08131.jpg
Once we got to AK, we headed straight for EE to get fast passes! Can you spot sis and Dad?:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/07-09-08continued082-1.jpg
I don't remember exactly what we did that day and in what order. I remember we rode Dinosaur because that's one my favorites there and we did Nemo the Musical.
Here's our redneck photo of EE. We always ask for the back-best seat on the ride and the closest to the Yeti!:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08135.jpg
After EE, we headed to eat at Pizzafari, our favorite lunch spot at AK. After we ate, we headed to Africa and got on the Safari.:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/7-09-08001.jpg
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/7-09-08002.jpg
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/7-09-08003.jpg

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/7-09-08005.jpg
I can't remember what else we did, but eventually we wanted to head to WL and say hello to our old "home" because believe it or not, we were missing it. Good-bye AK!:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08136.jpg
Sitting at the bus stop for WL:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08137.jpg
We always take a picture on this bridge, but sis wanted to take it up a notch:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08141.jpg
Then, we went to Roaring Forks and got some drinks and sat in the big comfy chairs in the lobby. Here we are just sitting down:

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08143.jpg
And sis kept taking picture after picture after picture. By this one, I was ready to slap her. :cutie: :
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08145.jpg
When we were done, it was time to head to the GF for our dinner ADR at one of our favorites: 1900 Park Fare. We decided to catch a boat to the Contemporary and ride the monorail over. Here we are at the boat dock. Good-bye WL, we will never forget the fun we had there!:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/7-09-08006.jpg
Okay, 1900 Park Fare was our favorite meal ever! They just added the Step-mother and the ugly Step-sisters so we were excited to meet them. First we had to meet Prince Charming and Miss Cinderella:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/7-09-08007.jpg
Haha, he was turned to the table next to us:

Continued...
Then, we heard screaming and loud singing. We looked around the corner, and it was the Step-sisters! They were dancing and prancing around different tables. Eventually they made their way towards our section:

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08147-1.jpg
After we ate, we headed up to the monorail and went to............yep the MK. It was EMH night! I don't remember everything we did. But here's some pics from the people mover:

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08151.jpg
Then I wanted to walk through the castle and look around Tink's shop.
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08148.jpg
Outside Tink's shop:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08149-1.jpg
Eventually, we went to our usual spot in Tomorrowland to watch Tink fly during Wishes:

That's right..you haven't been to WDW in awhile...well I can help you with ANYTHING...just ask away! You know how to PM me. AK is beautiful. But, it can get pretty hot there so make sure to have plenty of water handy. Plus, it is pretty spread out so have a game plan before you go so it's not like you're running back and forth all over the park. EE is so much fun! When you ride that, ask for the very back. And as you go up the big steep hill-look to your right, you can see all of AK. And then hurry and look way behind you, you can see all the way to the Contemporary and some of the MK!

Heya, I have been away for a few days as I took DBF away for his birthday but am just catching up now. I love your pictures, they are always so fun. The one of you and your sister on the bridge is so funny, did anyone see you when you were posing? And the one of Prince Charming, or his behind infact, how cheeky . I did notice your sister always looks really tanned, it so strange to see 2 sisters that looks so different. Everyone says me and my older sister look so alike, someone has asked if were twins. But then we looked so different when we were younger, complete opposites, its strange.

Day 6: June 21, 2008
Okay folks, this is going the be the lamest post you have ever read in a TR. "Why?", you might ask. Well..apparently we didn't take very many pictures that day. And you already know from before that I didn't keep a daily journal like I usually do. Please forgive me for this shortest of short updates. :flower3:
On the bus...Yes I know I already wore this shirt once this trip, but it's one of my favorites! And don't worry, it was washed! :
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08156.jpg
Apparently, we went to the MK because this is on the people mover and apparently we got SOAKED:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08158.jpg
I remember getting off the people mover and we were sitting on a bench in Tomorrowland trying to figure out what we wanted to do next because it was still raining...and we looked down and saw these guys:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08159.jpg
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u278/dislover/ak07-09-08160.jpg
Well...the next thing I can remember is going to Coronado Springs to eat dinner at the Maya Grill. We went over there early of course to explore the resort as we have never even been over there to look around. It's a beautiful place, but we saw a lot of convention people. We were still early for our ADR so we went out to the tables by the bar and got some drinks. It's fun just to sit back and relax once in awhile at WDW.
After we ate, we headed over to MGM for evening EMH's. We of course had to do ToT because it's even scarier at night! But, the view is gorgeous when the doors open! I'm always afraid that the ride is going to stop though and we'll get stuck (I'm claustrophobic). It was weird riding ToT this trip without having my B/F's hand to hold.
We decided to skip Fantasmic this year......yes, shocking, I know. It just was a really weird trip for us this year with everything that was going on at home and it was weird not having B/F with us since he's been quite a few times with us now. The second Fantasmic was going on and EMH's were starting so I got the idea that we should head back to Toy Story Mania and see how bad the line is because we loved this ride. The wait time said 40 minutes and we said "heck yeah we doing it!" The CM standing by the enterance kept yelling at people "The wait time is wrong! It's longer than 40 minutes! I wouldn't try it if I were you!" And we just looked at each other....:confused3 We walked in the building and around the corner to start the queue line and........seriously.......no one.....in.....line..we looked at each other as we were weaving around and walking straight through the first room and we all had the ":confused3" confused look. We walked all the way up to a little line right before we boarded the ride. We were on the ride in less than 15 minutes! Let's just keep this a secret betwen us on here so no one else gets the idea!

That is so weird that the CM told you not to ride and there was no wait! Awesome for you though!
I have to hold DF's hand on ToT too, this time I tried to be brave and put my hands in the air like the rest of my family but I couldn't do it :rotfl:

Ah it wasn't the lamest post ever, you still had some really nice pictures in there. And its so weird you say lame, I always thought that was a British term . We stayed at CSR last year and it was a very beautiful resort, especially looking over the lake in the morning with the sun coming up. But there were lots of convention people all the time and they completely took over the bar area which wasn't good :sad2:

While CSR is beautiful, it just didn't feel as much of a Disney resort as most of the others.
Haha, I didn't know lame was a British term. See, I learn something new every day! :) I'm so glad you didn't think the update was bad. I tried. For some reason we just didn't take that many pictures the last few days. I think we were starting to get sad about our last day.

I love love LOVED 1900 Park Fare for dinner. I have mostly boys and they even liked it and got into it. I think my 13 year old was slightly smitten with Cinderella though. :lmao: The Tremaines were my favorite though. I played back to them, so we got some interesting comments. Lady Tremaine asked if my son was eligible and from across the restaurant, Anastasia starts yelling "Mother! Mother! MOTHER!" until Lady Tremaine looked at her and said "WHAT dear?". Anastasia yells back "Is he eligible??". They went back and forth for awhile, and my son was turning red...it was hilarious. :rotfl2: Then Anastasia and Drizella were yelling back and forth across the restaurant for awhile...and Drizella went to one of the tables across the aisle from us and crawled under the table to get to another little boy who was hiding from them. All we could see of her was her bustle...:rotfl: I'm definitely going back there when we take the kids back. Next month, dh didn't want too many character meals...although we ended up with one or two...lol.;)

Ah I know what its like :sad1:. On the way over on the plane I always take hundreds of pictures and then on the way back I look back and have about 1. I don't even realise until I look back that I haven't taken them, I just get so bummed I forget completely. Its even worse being stuck on a plane for 9 hours, on the way I don't mind, I have Disney to look forward to after all, but on the way back its like torture, I get so fidgety.

Its the pictures, not your laptop hun. On a photobucket account you have so much bandwidth each month, which gets taken up every time you post a photo or someone looks at it, and if it exceeds the photos disappear, normally until the start of the next month. My bandwidth kept exceeding so I had to upgrade to a plus account which gives you much more bandwidth, so far I have had no problems.

You can hang around everyone else's reports AND start on a pre-trip for your next one.
We had to upgrade on the photobucket, but it's only like $3-$4. It's either that or wait your time out, and with all the pictures I take, we'd never get a report finished doing it that way.

Redo of Day 6: June 21, 2008
Okay folks, this is going the be the lamest post you have ever read in a TR. "Why?", you might ask. Well..apparently we didn't take very many pictures that day. And you already know from before that I didn't keep a daily journal like I usually do. Please forgive me for this shortest of short updates.
On the bus...Yes I know I already wore this shirt once this trip, but it's one of my favorites! And don't worry, it was washed! :
http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp334/dislover1/WDW1.jpg
Apparently, we went to the MK because this is on the people mover and apparently we got SOAKED:
http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp334/dislover1/WDW2.jpg
I remember getting off the people mover and we were sitting on a bench in Tomorrowland trying to figure out what we wanted to do next because it was still raining...and we looked down and saw these guys:
http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp334/dislover1/WDW3.jpg
http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp334/dislover1/WDW4.jpg
I wouldn't try it if I were you!" And we just looked at each other.... Yes I agree, you have definitely stayed in some great places. I love the monorail resorts, not only are they lovely resorts but its so great being that close to MK. And its just so easy to get there. You should definitely stay in the contemporary vacation club and AKLV, they both look amazing.

Aw your so nice!! That made my night. Even though I know my way around and everything and I've already been here a year, I still get nervous and I'm nervous as heck right now! :scared:
B/F and I headed up here this morning...left town around 9 and got to our apartment around 11. We unloaded the car, headed to Walmart and ate at subway and got groceries, then we headed to our textbook center on campus and got our books for class (it was packed!), then headed back to the apartment and unpacked EVERYTHING.

It should work out then. Just give me whatever notice you can as to the date, and I'll get Jill and Brooklynn up here. Hopefully, she can arrange to get off early to come. It's not that far - less than two hours. I'd like for you to see Brooklynn in person, since you've seen nine million pictures of her! Plus, the new baby will be here by then!
We'll meet you guys at the RFC, and then we will go do our normal routine - one time around the mall stopping at the Disney Store, going to see the fake shark and the real fish at the Aquarium, stopping in at Old Navy and all the kids' clothing stores, riding the carousel and maybe eating at the food court. That's pretty much we do on every visit there, along with visiting Mr. Hippo and listening to him grunt....and assuring Brooklynn he is not real. :)

You are not alone, I still get so nervous the night before the semester starts too! At least you have BF that must help! How did the first week go? Mine was very busy because I'm back at school teaching now too, so that's why I haven't made it to the boards more this week. But TGIF, and I'm back!

Hey,
I'm here, glad your pics are back up. Now I remember your "face" from last year when you posted in my TR, Great to "meet" you again and put a name with a face. Hope we run into eachother since we'll be there at the same time. Will you be putting an index up on the first page for us latecomers? If not, I'll muddle through, gotta get caught up since we'll be there at the same time.:thumbsup2

You and your sister and your cousin are just adorable! It sounds like you had a wonderful trip. And in your honor, I promise to finally go see One Man's Dream AND the Beauty and the Beast stage show. Two things we've never done but you talked me into them. :rotfl2:

That's sweet of you, but not anything you'd have to do. She has a Tinkerbell room, and she likes Ariel. She likes to read and color. She likes anything and everything. Maybe when we meet up, we could just walk over to the Disney Store together. That's what we did when we met Erica (VandyFan10) over there. It was fun looking around the store with someone else who appreciated Disney like we do.
I'll be happy to see your pictures soon!
