thanks. the guy is still missing. i'm wondering if they're going to find his body somewhere soon. i know that sounds morbid but i can see him taking his own life after all that.
I agree. Have been thinking this is what has happened. I just wonder how long it will take to find him.

Those are BEAUTIFUL!!!! Mine decided not to bloom or grow this year :guilty:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/spring/DSC00981.jpg
This is about as funny as Matt out back going after the bee's with a tennis racket. Unfortunately I haven't been able to spend as much time outside (especially on my deck) b/c of those crazy buzzing and stinging creatures. Between the bees and the 2-3 different types of wasps we have they can chase me back in the house pretty quickly :mad: And I've been keeping my eye out for the hornet(s) we saw last year :scared1:
That video of Jake is HILARIOUS!!! I had Matt watching it...we were both :rotfl:
I would have thrown a party if it would have been Adam leaving tonight- he is too full of himself and such a drama king... not for me!
Meeeeee tooooooo!!!
I think that's is a great explanation - Drama King....he does have a good voice, not my style but just don't really like him for some reason :confused3

Great update! Even thought it's not Disney. I love these kinds of updates. :goodvibes So far this has been a hot Spring! I swapped out the baby DS's closet today. Put away all the Winter/Fall stuff and pulled out the short sleeves and shorts. I think we're done with Winter. How's your fur baby doing? All better now?

Hey Dawn, Happy Spring! Love the pics and video you posted as always. Luke is a riot (my favorite is the robot video - too cute!) . So glad Sherman is feeling better. You guys must hide a ton of eggs for that hunt, Luke's basket was full! T ball is halarious at that age, you captured it well : ) Your garden looks beautiful, love the tink bird bath, I want a Mickey gnome, have you seen the pics of them?
Well, have a good day!

Don't you love watching little boys playing baseball - they pick flowers, play with the dirt, have a seat on the base while they wait. I love it. Both of my boys decided against baseball, which for DS10 is a good thing because he's in a cast now, broke his ankle on a trampoline. Luke is so cute. Love your azaela bush, so pretty. Mine died a couple of years ago :sad1:

I miss Easter egg hunts outside, Luke did very well collecting the eggs!
The first year I was in Auburn, I was so excitted to have an outdoor egg hunt for Aaron.
The problem was I didn't think about the chocolate. It all melted....:eek:
What a mess, I learned after that to put only candies. :laughing:
The city would put on a huge hunt for the kids and it was so much fun.
Seeing as we usually have snow here, the hunts are now indoors...;)
Luke is good at baseball, in no time he will be the star! :thumbsup2
He is just too funny, it must be so comical to watch him.
Beautiful yard, Your azalea bush is so full and pretty.
The Tink bird bath is adorable.
Did Ray succeed in getting rid of the wasps?
I think your pup is thinking "our hero".... :rotfl:

Aww, such cute photos!! I love the baseball photos and videos - hilarious!! And such pretty spring photos too! It seems like only a couple of weeks ago, you had all that snow!! :confused3
Your lady statue in your butterfly garden (:scared1:) reminds me of the statue from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil! Do you know it?! The original statue is in Savannah. Hmmm, you love Savannah, right!? Maybe you bought it from there!! :idea:
Our weather is certainly not getting any warmer... it's the opposite, in fact!! (Funny that!) It's starting getting reeeeally cold. We had our first proper frost this morning!! Brrrr! Which is weird, because literally 2 weeks ago, I was wearing skirts and flip-flops! Where did the summer go!?
Thanks for all your fun photos!! :yay:

Winter will probably always be my favorite time of year, but I agree that as I've gotten older, I definitely enjoy Spring more and more. But I have to enjoy other people's gardens and flowers b/c I do not have even the slightest hint of a green thumb! I guess I just need to hire a gardener or something if I ever want anything beautiful in my yard!
Loved all the pics! Luke is just too stinkin' precious! And, yeah, I am pretty much completely envious of Anna's body! I think I'm going to print out a pic of her, tape it to my treadmill and fridge and use it as my motivation!:lmao:

What a wonderful spring update! We had an azelea that color at our old house...it was huge. One year a hunnysuckle vine over took it and killed half of it. We also had a huge blue snow ball bush.
I love the pics from the Easter Egg hunt...those kids really got the loot, didn't they?

Oh my goodness Luke's t-ball team is sooooo adorable!! I like the one picture of the little girl with her hat on top of all her braids with the beads on them. Luke's such a ham too, doing the robot :laughing:
Everything in your yard is so beautiful! I wish it would just get nice and STAY nice here. It was like 80s Sun, Mon and Tues and then yesterday and today back into the high 50s...what is going on here?! :confused3 Great pictures though, made me feel happy inside :goodvibes

Hilarious videos of Luke playing ball! I especially loved the one with the little girl picking up the dust at first while Luke sat on the bag. I would have been cracking up right along with you.
Pretty flowers. I stuck some fake ones in our two flower pots on the front porch the other day. Three bucks apiece, and they'll live forever, or until the wind blows them away. :rotfl:
I do not have a green thumb. I do have a black thumb, as in being a plant mortuary, so silk it is. ;)

Hey Dawn!!!!!!!!
Just dropping in! I am caught up with your updates after being gone for a few days!!:goodvibes
So glad Brett got to see Margot!!
hey! hope you guys had a blast at the beach.
Haha, this update was so cute!
Luke is adorable playing ball! Whoa, Coach Anna could kick my butt with those arms!
Haha, "eli's thinking, "what in the world is my crazy father doing now????" The perfect caption for that picture Dawn!
thanks! yeah, anna is a personal trainer and group fitness trainer at the gym she works at so it's her job to look like that! :laughing:
You can tell you are farther south than us... your yard, trees, flowers are just weeks ahead of ours. Luke's game looks like so much fun, we have our first softball game this weekend.
As for AI---- I am so sad too. I loved Matt... what an awesome story! I would have thrown a party if it would have been Adam leaving tonight- he is too full of himself and such a drama king... not for me!
it's so pretty here - i wish spring would last longer! i just don't like adam's voice (he reminds me of axel rose from guns n roses) and he's just too dramatic. now i'm cheering for danny and chris!
I agree. Have been thinking this is what has happened. I just wonder how long it will take to find him.
Those are BEAUTIFUL!!!! Mine decided not to bloom or grow this year :guilty:

they mentioned on the news tonight that him being dead was a possibility but "no indications of that". i can't imagine that they haven't found him yet if he's still running.
we sometimes don't have luck with our azaleas but we have like 5 that bloomed really pretty this year. so funny about matt with the tennis racket! :rotfl:
Great update! Even thought it's not Disney. I love these kinds of updates. :goodvibes So far this has been a hot Spring! I swapped out the baby DS's closet today. yeah, i'm glad we're done with winter! i hate being cold. i could never survive up north. he's a lot better - no fully recovered but MUCH better!
Thanks for the links! We are definitley going to eat there. It looks so good!

thanks! i'd love to see your azaleas. sorry i'm so behind on your PTR - i will catch up eventually! he thought he got the wasp but we saw either the same one or another one a few minutes later. i got spray yesterday so now i'm super wasp killer out there with that spray can!
Hey Dawn, Happy Spring! Love the pics and video you posted as always. Luke is a riot (my favorite is the robot video - too cute!) . So glad Sherman is feeling better. you too! yeah, the whole neighborhood brought eggs to hunt. i haven't seen the mickey gnomes pics but that sounds super cute - now i have to go find one!

one of the requirements for donating eggs was no chocolate! i can see why you guys have easter egg hunts inside - hiding eggs in snow is no fun! :laughing: he did hit the wasp but i don't think he killed it because we saw one a few minutes later. i bought some wasp killer yesterday though and i've been zapping them left and right ever since.

Thanks for all your fun photos!! :yay:
thanks! that is a miniature copy of the "bird girl" statue in savannah, the one you're talking about from, "midnight in the garden of good and evil." i saw it somewhere and HAD to have it. i love all the statues they have there in the parks and everything.
my cousin lives in brazil and it's getting cold there, too. it's so odd to me that you guys have warm weather during christmas but you probably think it's odd that we're having 100-degree weather in july!
Glad to see Sherman up and about.
I love that pic of both of them, Eli is protecting his stick !
thanks! eli is such a goofball.
Winter will probably always be my favorite time of year, but I agree that as I've gotten older, I definitely enjoy Spring more and more. i'm lucky because ray has a green thumb. mine is sort of brown! :laughing: about anna's body, i know, i know. being so close to her, i've come to realize that not everybody can have that body. even if i were to work out as much as anna does (she's a personal trainer and group fitness manager) and eat the way she does i still wouldn't look like her. anna is a natural athelete and has always been tall and thin, even before she worked out the way she does now. when she was pregnant with luke, you couldn't even tell she was pregnant if you were looking at her from the back. it was sickening. and i've also come to realize with being her friend how AWFUL a lot of women are. you should see the looks she gets. it's really sad. that jealousy just comes pouring out of some women when they see her and it turns into ugliness and it makes me so mad because they don't know what a sweet, funny, great person she is. anyway, i wanted to share this. she recently had some promotional pictures taken for the gym and i thought this one turned out so good.

probably a little bit of both. :rotfl:

that was actually jake, the little boy who batted after luke. he was so funny that i had to video him! and yes, that little girl was funny, too. i love how they're like, "hmmmm.....whatever. baseball, playing in the dirt, laying in the grass.....whatever."
i hear ya on the fake flowers......sounds like a plan to me! ray has the green thumb, not me. mine's sort of a brown shade.

before i start my update i wanted to share some pictures with you. we had company this weekend. our friend johnny, who was actually our roommate before we got married for about 2 years and now lives in tallahassee, came up with his wife, lani (her name is leilani but she goes by lani), to go to a friend's wedding on saturday. they got here friday night and left this afternoon. it was great to see them! they brought their two dogs, atlas and lokie.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/DSC00986.jpg
we had a blast with the dogs! you should've seen eli when they first got here - you could tell he was amazed with their size, especially atlas, the rottweiler. he's HUGE! eli's little face was so funny!
this is lokie. he's a pit bull/chesapeake bay retriever mix and he's a real sweetie. he's a daddy's boy and LOVES to play fetch with the tennis ball.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/DSC00993.jpg
and this is atlas, the rottweiler. he is SO clumsy and just hilarious. i really bonded with him - he loves girls and he was just all about me this weekend! he's playing with one of eli's eeyore dolls here.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/DSC01007.jpg
he thinks he's a lap dog when really he's one of the biggest rottweilers i've ever seen. here he's laying on my lap. at one point he just sat down on me and i couldn't breathe!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/DSC01003.jpg
and the FUNNIEST thing about atlas is that he LOVES to watch TV! when he walks into a room and sees a TV, he runs straight to it, even if it's not on. he just stands there and waits to see what's going to happen. it's so cute! here he is watching the kentucky derby yesterday.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/th_MOV00989.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/?action=view¤t=MOV00989.flv)
so funny! anyway, it was a great time and we enjoyed seeing johnny and his "family" this weekend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
back to the TR!
when we last caught up we had just finished chowing down on some casey dogs - well, everyone but me who just ate a couple of fries and drank some milk to try to settle my icky stomach. after our afternoon snack we went back to tomorrowland to use our buzz lightyear fastpasses. when we got there ray only had 4 fastpasses in his pocket - he must have dropped the 5th one! i told him i'd stay outside but he insisted that i ride. so me, anna, chris and luke headed into buzz. the fastpass line was even backed up!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/01-17.jpg
so luke and chris decided to entertain themselves by doing some really silly dancing! :rotfl:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/02-16.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/03-17.jpg
finally it was time to get on the ride! anna and i got in a car together and then chris and luke were behind us.
honestly though i think it's because she was watching luke more than she was shooting!
here are some SERIOUS shooters!!!!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/09-17.jpg
you can't even see luke's head! :rotfl:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/10-17.jpg
luke is actually happy to be captured by zurg!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/11-17.jpg
after that we decided to go hop on the train in toontown. luke had been wanting to ride the train and we thought we'd take it over to frontierland and check out the wait for BTMRR. i wasn't interested in splash because it was so cool outside and i don't think anyone else was, either! at this point i was starting to feel VERY icky! the milk at casey's didn't do much for my queasy stomach. i wasn't sure if i'd really ride BTMRR or not but if not i could sit with luke while everyone else did.
we saw a couple of interesting things while waiting to board the train. first was this lady. she was SNOOZING!!!!! after we initially started laughing at her, i started getting worried because this lady was really out! even the train whistle didn't wake her up. we started watching her closely to see if she was breathing and eventually she did move.
then we saw this chick. interesting choice of clothes to wear to disney world.
we made it to frontierland and i had to make a pitstop at the bathroom to deal with my stomach issues. being sick at magic kingdom is no fun! :sad2:
we eventually made it over to BTMRR and i don't remember what the wait was but i know it was over an hour. :eek: no, thanks!
so then we decided to check out the HM wait again. i think it was at 30 minutes at that point so we hopped in line. while we were standing in line anna realized she didn't have her little photopass card that was on the bungie cord. they looked everywhere but couldn't find it. i told her not to panic, that we'd check to see if they could find the pictures and put them on her other card.
i also started to feel REALLY bad at this point. my stomach just wouldn't settle and when i'd change the direction i was looking quickly i'd get dizzy. i rarely get like that and so it kinda freaked me out a little bit, but i didn't say anything to anyone, just told ray that i was feeling very funny. i think maybe riding space mountain when my stomach wasn't feeling too good wasn't a good idea!
while we were waiting luke kept asking what this was and we told him it was a silly halloween ride. he didn't seem too worried.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/22-15.jpg
after a good little wait we finally made it in. luke was very timid during the stretching room, just sort of holding anna's neck really tightly. but he was okay.
here they are in their doom buggy. you can see luke is just checking everything out!
Great promo pic, I think she should feel so proud of herself. ;)
The video of Atlas was funny! They were both beautiful dogs.
I had a rottweiller too, he was a fantastic dog and also a big baby. I miss him, his name was Zeus. ;)
Too bad you still felt aweful that night. Kinda scary to feel so dizzy. You were a real trooper. :hug:
Gotta love the need to be a trooper at Disney...especially at MK! I did too one day when we were there in June, and it ended up backfiring when we went for our anniversary dinner at CRT. Lucky for us, we got a little pixie dust that evening. I hope it didn't get much worse for you!
Your big dog visitors look like lots of fun! So cuddly! Hee! It shows me how much I don't know about dogs, because I'd be so scared that your dogs and their dogs would fight! :scared1:
I'm missing Disney World a bit at the moment (I think it's because I know my sister will be there soon!) and your photos of the train and Haunted Mansion make me want to go back there even more! So much fun!
Sorry to hear about your icky tummy - it sounds almost exactly the same as the problems I had while there in January. I haven't written this part of my update yet, but at Epcot one afternoon I felt really dizzy too, and had to sit down straight away. Awful, isn't it?! :confused3
Anyway, thanks for another fun update!
I am glad that your brother got to hold his little girl even if it was for a short time. I hope before long that he gets to see her a lot. It is good to her that your dog is getting better, I know you are relieved.
about anna's body, i know, i know. being so close to her, i've come to realize that not everybody can have that body. even if i were to work out as much as anna does (she's a personal trainer and group fitness manager) and eat the way she does i still wouldn't look like her. anna is a natural athelete and has always been tall and thin, even before she worked out the way she does now. when she was pregnant with luke, you couldn't even tell she was pregnant if you were looking at her from the back. it was sickening. and i've also come to realize with being her friend how AWFUL a lot of women are. you should see the looks she gets. it's really sad. that jealousy just comes pouring out of some women when they see her and it turns into ugliness and it makes me so mad because they don't know what a sweet, funny, great person she is. anyway, i wanted to share this. she recently had some promotional pictures taken for the gym and i thought this one turned out so good.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/3106_1157355812331_1180825954_46098.jpg
Oh, I can only imagine the way jealous women react to her! I agree, though, I don't have her body "type"...so, even if I were to work out HARD, I'd never have that body either! Ask her what kind of exercises someone with a small waist but a lot of junk in the trunk should do!:lmao:
As for you TR...I was :rotfl: thinking of that woman sleeping on the bench! Y'all should've poked her! ha! Sorry to hear you weren't feeling so great, though...yuck! no fun!
I love the picture of Anna...but I am amazed at her abs!!! Wowwwwzieeeee!
Now I'm envious of her muscles but wouldn't ever be mean to someone like that!!! I mean really have you ever noticed the really mean comments come from the ones who probably wouldn't ever dream of putting in the effort to get a body like that. Like you mentioned she works out and has a special diet....I for one would like her abs but I LOVE the bakery way too much so I'll hang onto my *ahem* roundness and just exercise to try and be healthy!
I also have to comment that you are doing a great job not showing how icky you were feeling in any of the pictures! I hate that feeling of okay here it comes....I'm getting sick but it's not a full blown sickness yet. Ugh!!! At that point I'm usually like come on....either get fully sick or go away!!!!!
nope, they didn't fight. i've only seen dogs fight like that once and it was at night while we were camping. i think just being out in the woods with the fire and in the dark brought out the animal in them! but it was before we got sherman or eli so neither of them were involved.
Oh, I can only imagine the way jealous women react to her! I agree, though, I don't have her body "type"...so, even if I were to work out HARD, I'd never have that body either! Ask her what kind of exercises someone with a small waist but a lot of junk in the trunk should do!:lmao:
As for you TR...I was :rotfl: thinking of that woman sleeping on the bench! Y'all should've poked her! ha! Sorry to hear you weren't feeling so great, though...yuck! no fun!
i have the same type of body you do! i have a big back side and a small waist and i carry my weight in my butt and my thighs. i played soccer and did gymnastics as a kid and when you stop doing those things and get old all that muscle turns to not-muscle!!!! anyway, anna helps me a lot. i do lots of cardio (which i hate) to counter-act the bulk that tends to collect around my butt/thighs and i also do a good bit of weights when i do any leg and/or butt exercises to make it not-so-jiggly! :laughing:
i bet luke would've poked that lady if we'd let him. :rotfl:
I love the picture of Anna...but I am amazed at her abs!!! Wowwwwzieeeee!
exactly! anna eats really clean and is way more disciplined than most of us but she's by no means a diet nazi. i've seen her CHOW DOWN on hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream and sweets lots of times. she just does it sparingly! i'm fairly "round" myself so i hear ya!
anna and chris has to drop off luke's stroller so ray and i went on ahead of them. i didn't want to be rushed to see the decorations at GF and then have to RUN to our ADR. i took this as we neared the CR on the monorail. i was trying to get the CR christmas tree in the picture!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/04-18.jpg
my very sad attempt of a picture of the tree at the CR. this was taken from the monorail so it didn't turn out that good!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/05-18.jpg
finally we made it to the GF. i love this hotel - so pretty! although i've never really wanted to stay there. it's too fancy for me! :laughing:
the first thing we saw when we came in on the second floor was the GINORMOUS christmas tree. it was soooooooooo pretty!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/06-18.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/07-18.jpg
of course the second thing we noticed when we got inside was the smell of gingerbread - it filled the air! and here's why........
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/08-18.jpg
this was the main reason i wanted to come here. i had heard about the gingerbread house and i had to see it with my own eyes. it smelled SO GOOD in there!!!!! even with my upset tummy i was almost drooling.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/10-18.jpg
the ingredients.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/11-18.jpg
i love all the little details!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/12-18.jpg
there's a little stand on the back of the house where you can buy cookies and different gingerbread treats!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/13-18.jpg
i asked a nice lady standing nearby to take a picture.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/14-18.jpg
right about the time we were leaving, anna, chris and luke got there. it was about 6:00 at this point so i told them to take their time and check out the gingerbread house and me and ray were gonna catch a boat to the poly. i knew this would be quicker because getting on the monorail would take us ALL THE WAY BACK AROUND to MK, CR and then the poly. a boat ride would take us directly to the poly (the poly and GF share a boat and the route goes from MK to GF to the poly and back to MK).
i snapped this while we were waiting on the boat....one of our favorite restaurants, narcoosee's!
we didn't have to wait long before a boat showed up and we had it all to ourselves! it was nice. a little chilly, but nice.
apparently as anna and company were leaving, she wanted to get some pictures of luke and chris in front of one of the christmas trees. this is what she got......
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/17-17.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/18-18.jpg
so finally she gave up and chris pretended luke was standing there smiling like they wanted him to! :rotfl2:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/19-18.jpg
she took this on the way to the boat dock at one of the store windows. i love the mickey head christmas ornaments on the trees!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/20-17.jpg
more pics she took while they were waiting on the boat. great minds think alike! :upsidedow
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/22-16.jpg
we checked in at kona cafe and told we'd be "buzzed" as soon as our table was ready. so i walked around a little and found some locally-made gingerbread "houses".
this is the christmas tree near the door leading out to the monorail....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/26-15.jpg
right after i took the above picture a man walked by and said, "oh, too bad you didn't get me in that picture!" so i took a picture of him, too. :laughing:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/27-12.jpg
these were on the sushi/coffee bar area.....
i thought this bartender holding the jack was cute!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/29-12.jpg
anna and company showed up soon after and we all stood near the kona entrance against the railing. as we were standing there, i looked over to my right and saw a man standing there and suddenly my brain clicked.....:idea: HEY, I KNOW HIM!!!! THAT'S SCOTT FROM THE DISBOARDS!!!!!!!! :yay:
as soon as he saw me he knew me, too. it was so awesome meeting him unplanned like that! he and biff had just arrived that day. we talked about our trips, how i wasn't feeling well, how we'd FROZEN the day before at DHS, the monsoon we had at epcot the day before and about what MVMCPs we were going to. then we took a picture. it was so funny - i never heard the new york come out in his accent until biff couldn't figure out the camera and then i heard it! :rotfl2:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/30-11.jpg
it was soooo nice to meet you guys, scott!!!! i'm glad we ran into you. :grouphug:
we were called to our table so i told scott goodbye and we sat down. he ended up coming by our table later when they left (apparently they eat faster than us!) and he says he ran over a wheelchair after he said bye again but i didn't see him do it so he must have hid it well! :laughing: :cool2:
i was gonna go through kona dinner but i think i'll stop here because it's getting late.
next up......pineapple envy (sorry for the teaser last time!) and a change of plans!!!!
The Grand Floridian and the Polynesian are so beautiful with all of their Christmas decorations. The gingerbread houses are great -- I can almost smell them (gingerbread is my favorite Christmas scent)! :laughing:
Too cool that you were able to meet Scott and Biff!
I like to visit the Grand Floridian, because it is beautiful, especially at Christmas, but I don't care anything about staying there. It's a little above my classiness, which is not much. :) We have a goal to stay at all the resorts for at least one night, though, so I suspect there will be a time when I will have to act very sophisticated for one night so that they'll let me stay there!
Your pictures at Poly make me easily transport myself to be walking through there. I can hear the sounds of the people and the water...I think that is such a pretty lobby. I definitely am going to stay there someday, and hopefully for more than one night. We'll be back there for another visit at the end of this year. I wish I could capture the feel as well as the sights in pictures. Maybe I will video instead, because there's just something about that place that I really like.
That's crazy that you ran into Scott accidentally. The Dis gods were smiling upon you! :laughing:
Okay you're going to laugh at me..but I think that all the resorts on the monorail have their own smell. The GF's smell is my favorite though. And I just love when you walk into the lobby from the monorail and you can hear the band playing. :cloud9: When we took my grandparents there, we had to stay a little while because they loved sitting in the lobby to listen to them. :laughing: We come all the way to WDW and they love the band in a resort! Go figure.
Seeing all these Christmas pictures in May is making me want it to be Christmas time again! The gingerbread house in the GF is soooo cool, I hope its up by the time we go this November. We visited the GF and while its beautiful in there, I agree with you and don't really have any urge to stay there because its too fancy for me! The Poly on the other hand, my favorite resort and I will save and save until I can afford to stay there! :laughing:
I LOVE the GF!!! It's where I want to stay, someday. That's great that you took some random guys picture! I love people like that! :rotfl: I had someone ask me at work today, how to get upstairs. After I told them the real answer, I then told them that a beam of light would come down from the ceiling and Scotty would be waiting for them on the second floor. It's just such a nice change from a lot of crabby people you come in contact with at Disney. Let's have fun people! (Like that crabby old lady in the wheelchair beeping her way through the mob of people on mainstreet)
How exciting that you got to meet Scott! My luck, I would be down there and then not be observant enough to recognize a DISer.
Hi! Just jumping into your TR a little late! :goodvibes We always have to do the loop on the monorail and visit all of those hotels. The GF is usually where we just sit in the lobby and soak it all in. I love when the band is playing on the second floor and the music is drifting down... It's so great. That Tiki bar is AWESOME!!!!!
I really don't think you told me you met Scott!!!!! You keep good secrets.....HOW COOL!!! :upsidedow
i love the ski slope, too! that guy was funny. he wanted to be on camera and that's the risk you take posing for a random girl at disney world! :laughing: i thought i texted you that night and told you we met scott but i could very well have started a text and got distracted and never sent it, especially with the way i was feeling. my head was kinda focused on my icky tummy!
Hi! Just jumping into your TR a little late! :goodvibes We always have to do the loop on the monorail and visit all of those hotels. The GF is usually where we just sit in the lobby and soak it all in. I love when the band is playing on the second floor and the music is drifting down... It's so great. I think the Christmas season just makes it that much more special.
welcome!!!! :goodvibes thanks for reading. i love visiting all the resorts, too! and christmas there is just like nothing else.
We havent even gone on our first trip yet and I already told Mike that I want to go at Christmas time. The pictures are beautiful! The GF looks so pretty but I agree with you I think it is too fancy for me to stay at.
Can't wait for the Kona update.
thanks! christmas at disney is just so magical! you guys would love it.
All caught up on your report now too! Sorry you felt so sick that day - that stinks! How cool to meet a Diser and recognize them too!
yeah, it stinks being sick at disney. but you just have to keep on keepin on!
How fun to meet ScottNY! That gingerbread house looks amazing! I love the tree pic - Chris with "pretend Luke" is so funny!:rotfl2: I can tell Chris and Anna are so fun! I can't wait to hear about pineapple envy!:goodvibes
it was so cool to have met him! chris is just silly sometimes! check these out. i took these at a friend's christmas party in 2007. first anna and chris.....
thank you so much!
Happy Mother's Day to you as well!
thanks!
You ladies and your fabulous trip reports inspired me - I started a pre-trip report :) See my siggy.
i'm on my way over!
Happy Mothers day to all. Just seeing the pictures of the GF makes me excited to be leaving for the YC this Sat 5/16. We are staying 1 week, me, DH, 2 boys and 1 girl (12,10,7). Anyway have a great trip to NYC. My DH grew up right outside of there in Northern NJ. If you need any info about the city, send a pm.
wow....this saturday? i'm so super jealous!!! i bet you'll have a blast. i will be doing a NYC TR and i'll post the link here.
I've had a little more luck with kids than plants. Plants know that my house is a mortuary for greenery. I could be imagining, but I really do think I've seen vines clinging to the doorways to keep from coming in here!!! ;)
I hope you guys had a great day down there in Georgia!
you are so silly! :rotfl: ray has the green thumb here. mine is just slightly tinted green. it was beautiful here today!
so after our meeting and visit with scott and biff, we were buzzed and it was time to eat. kona is one of my favorite places to eat at disney and i was so looking forward to this meal. it figures i would be feeling really bad when it was time to eat! :rolleyes:
our destination......
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/01-19.jpg
we were sat next to the railing which is kinda cool because you can enjoy the views in the lobby as well as in the restaurant. first came the bread. oh, how i LOVE kona's bread and macadamia nut butter. that butter is the perfect whipped consistency and it goes SO GOOD with the bread
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/02-18.jpg
we ordered drinks and luke got a pirate's punch because he wanted the lighted tinkerbell that ray and i have.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/03-19.jpg
now everyone (or mostly everyone) knows how i LOVE the lapu lapu drink at the poly. any chance to get one and i'll be there! it's my FAVORITE drink in all of disney world. so this is definitely a highlight of every trip for me. well, i was afraid of getting a lapu lapu that night. my stomach was not getting any better and i knew alcohol wouldn't help anything. so i played it smart and decided against it. soooooooooooo disappointing! :sad1:
and to make matters worse, ray AND chris decided to order one. thus.....my pineapple envy.
the object of my desire....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/04-19.jpg
chris enjoying his heaven in a pineapple. darn him.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/05-19.jpg
on the plus side i'm glad ray did order one. i took a few sips of his. i knew a few sips wouldn't hurt anything. i just didn't want a whole pineapple to myself because that much alcohol wouldn't have been good for my tummy!
for appetizers ray and i got the crab cakes and anna and chris decided on the wings. we all shared with each other. i'm not a big wings girl because chicken on a bone grosses me out. but i pulled some of the meat off just to try them and they were really good! and the crab cakes were SO YUMMY as always.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/06-19.jpg
during dinner you could tell that everyone was just completely drained. we were on our 3rd full disney day of fighting crowds and it was taking its toll. usually i'm good at disney world no matter what. for some reason i can just go and go and go there and not feel anything other than excitement. but because my stomach was feeling crappy i was feeling the effects of vacation overload too. this is anna trying to get luke to calm down. he was tired and grumpy and being a little loud and difficult, so she was telling him to do what she was doing and hoping he would get sleepy and fall asleep in her lap. but of course it was a no-go!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/07-19.jpg
also, as we were sitting there we were talking about how yucky i was feeling and as i was sipping my water i noticed it smelled weird. i made ray smell it and he thought it smelled like sewer! :scared: so i'm wondering if the water at disney world was making me sick? i drink pretty much nothing but water so i had definitely drank a lot of it. i tend to carry a water bottle but i do drink water out of the fountains and i always order water at the restaurants. i had a small water bottle in our bag that i hadn't opened and i decided to drink from that instead of drinking the water the server had brought me!
anna and i ended up ordering the same thing - the tuna oscar. i got this back in april of last year and it was the best meal i've ever had at disney world! so i was really looking forward to it again. but alas, i was worried about my stomach issues so i asked the server to tell the chef to make mine not-so rare. i still wanted it seared and served rare, just not completely pink. i wasn't sure how my stomach would take it.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/08-19.jpg
it was good but definitely not as good and flavorful as it is rare, like it's supposed to be served. anna said hers was yummy, too.
chris and ray also ordered the same thing, the teriyaki strip. they both said it was excellent.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/09-19.jpg
luke got the grilled chicken strips with pasta, green beans and fruit. he said it was good but i don't think he ate much of it. you know how kids can do that sometimes!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/10-19.jpg
ray and chris also ordered another drink with their meals - the year of a million dreams glowtini. i didn't take a drink of this one. i had it last year at sci-fi and i thought it was too sweet.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/11-19.jpg
i thought this picture turned out cool!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/12-19.jpg
luke had fun with the glow cubes.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/13-19.jpg
for dessert ray and i got the banana chocolate creme brulee and anna, chris and luke got the kilauea torte. of course we all shared!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/14-19.jpg
before we destroyed it.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/15-18.jpg
and after......
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/16-19.jpg
they both were really good. i love anything with white chocolate and raspberries so that kilauea torte was awesome.
at some point during dinner monica (monymony) called me. we had planned to meet up at MK to watch wishes together that night. i told her i was feeling really bad and as of right now i was thinking i might skip spectro and wishes. i just didn't feel like doing anything but going to bed! plus ray had drove our car to MK that morning so we could leave and not have to make anna and company leave, too. i knew i had MVMCP tomorrow so i wanted to get some rest that evening. i felt awful but i just couldn't promise her i'd be there. i told her i'd call her if i changed my mind. she was really sweet and understanding and said that her DS was feeling icky too.
while we were settling the check we got all our glow cubes out we had accumulated over the trip and that kept luke entertained!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/20-18.jpg
on the way out anna took some more gingerbread "house" pictures. these are so cute!
i still had to go back to MK because i had to pick up a couple of packages i had sent to the front of the park. so we headed towards the monorail. i asked if we could ride in the front but unfortunately someone was already up there. isn't this pretty? it was taken while we were waiting on the monorail....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/24-17.jpg
i dropped my camera when we got on the monorail and the lense wouldn't open up all the way. i was freaking out!!!! i'm pretty sure anna took this while ray and i were trying to figure it out.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/25-17.jpg
fortunately it started working right again. see?
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/26-16.jpg
i think luke took this one....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/27-13.jpg
enjoying our monorail ride....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/28-14.jpg
can you see the little bruise on luke's right cheek here? it's in the other pictures too but this one really shows it well. he fell getting out of the shower about 2 days before we left for the trip. his little face landed on the bar where the shower door shuts and so the bruise is like a straight line on his face. anna was SO worried that the teachers at his school would think it was a finger mark! poor little dude!!!
at some point anna and chris had decided to call it a night, too. i hated that they would miss spectro because they had never seen it before, but we were all DONE. the lack of sleep, fighting a monsoon and wintry weather and CROWDS was just getting to everyone. so instead of getting off at MK they rode the monorail to the TTC to head home.
ray and i headed for the entrance at MK so i could run in and get my packages. i took this on the way in....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/29-13.jpg
ray stayed outside while i went in. we didn't want to both have to drag out our park tickets. the christmas tree was so pretty at night!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/30-12.jpg
and then i saw it......the first time i saw the castle lights!!!! they were SO PRETTY!!!!!! i knew i'd see it closer the next night but i had to get a couple of pictures from the opposite end of main street. it was just breathtaking!!!!!!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/31-11.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/32-11.jpg
i felt so bad that night because i was supposed to take a picture of the castle with ray's phone and send it to erica. but because ray didn't come in with me, i couldn't! sorry, erica!!!! :guilty:
i got my packages and then i decided to go to the photography center (near tony's) and ask them if anna could somehow locate her pictures. the guy said if we could figure out within the hour what time the last picture was taken that was on that card, that he could probably find the card number for her. :yay: i was so happy to hear that because i knew she would be so disappointed if she lost those tinker bell pictures! he said just to have her come by the camera center the next night and someone would be happy to help her. :thumbsup2
when i got back out to meet up with ray, wishes was just starting. we decided to stand there and watch it from in front of the train station. it's just impossible to walk away from wishes!!!!! i took some pictures which turned out really bad because i didn't have my tripod set up, but oh well!
after wishes we fast-walked to the monorail to try to beat the crowds. to the TTC and then the car for us and then we headed home to the condo. i took a nice, long, hot bath to try to help my stomach feel better and we got to bed early.
up next.......breakfast with some old friends! :donald::mickeyjum:goofy:
Whoa, that food looked yummy!
Honestly, I know what it feels like to be drained after the first few days of the trip. Sometimes it's just nice to head back to the room early and catch up on sleep. But, the castle with those lights looks beautiful! I hope to see it sometime in real life.
It's funny that you said that about the water. I have felt that way many times when going to WDW, but not just at Disney. Sometimes at our hotels (we usually stay off-site) as soon as we would walk in, the rooms would smell bad and the bathrooms would be the worst. We realized that it was the water that smelled bad. I always thought that I was just over-sensitive, but everytime we go there throughout the years, that is one thing that still bothers me. Maybe they put chemicals in the water to purify it?? All I know is that I have a hard time re-filling my water bottles from the fountains because I know I won't like the way that it tastes. I think I'm going to try some Crystal Lite packets this time to see if it helps it taste better.
So sorry you missed your pineapple! I have never tried one before so it is now on my list. The castle shot from the end of Main Street is fabulous!
DH and I ate at Kona's during our trip in Dec. I really liked the food but DH not so much :sad2: he doesn't like a lot of sauces and he likes his meat cooked really well. He did like dessert though.:thumbsup2
Sorry about the tummy bug. I've heard a lot of people complain about the water, guess I'll stick to bottled.
Yay! We love Kona too! Those chicken wings are so good! I really wanted Conan to try the Kilauea Torte (so I could have a try!) but he got the Kona Cone instead! Bummer!
Oooh, and I totally agree about the Kona bread and butter - I could have just eaten that for my meal and I would have been totally happy!! Delicious!
I think we've discussed it before on my trip report, but the water at the WL stank like a sewer too! Ewww! I reckon that's partly what gave me my stomach problems too. Weird!
What pretty photos of MK at night! You all look a bit exhausted on the monorail - it's awful feeling tired at Disney, isn't it!? You try and tell yourself to perk up because it's Disney World, but sometimes there comes a point when you just have to crash! :confused3
Great update Dawn... look forward to hearing more! :yay:
Whenever we finally get to Kona, there is no doubt what I want - that teriyaki steak that always looks so good in everyone's pictures!
I am so sorry that you were feeling bad during the trip. It's just a 'bummer' to be in such a fun place for a short time and have any of the good times dampered by feeling bad. I've been there, and it's just annoying, but sometimes we just get the bad luck to have sick days and Disney days overlap. We can be thankful that those are few, though, and that most of our trip days we are feeling great and can go at full speed.
You came through even when sick, though, with lots of great pictures. Watching Wishes from the front ain't all bad sometimes, and you did get a head start on the traffic. We know what it is like to make the choice to give in and call it a night, especially with kids, even when we might want to keep going. It's usually best for all just to get on back and get the much needed rest. A comfortable bed feels really, really good at the end of a long Disney day!
Kona always looks really good! That cream brulee is enough for me to go there.
You know right before you pointed out Luke's boo boo I noticed something was on his cheek but thought it was the camera angle, poor little guy. My DS7 went to school with a black eye the second day of school because he feel off monkey bars on school property the first day of school. When I picked up the kids from school we stayed to play outside for awhile and he was sweaty and slipped off and landed right on a rock or something. Of course two days later they had new mulch down to cover whatever he hit.
That castle looks awesome in pictures all lit up I could only imagine what it looks like in person - stunning I was guess.
i'm not a big wings girl because chicken on a bone grosses me out. but i pulled some of the meat off just to try them and they were really good! and the crab cakes were SO YUMMY as always.
OMG! The food here looks delicious! I've never eaten there, so it looks like a must for the next trip! And I just have to add that I am the same way with chicken on a bone! It disgusts me! People have always made fun of me for that! But I don't care...I think it's just gross and I refuse to eat it!
i got my packages and then i decided to go to the photography center (near tony's) and ask them if anna could somehow locate her pictures. the guy said if we could figure out within the hour what time the last picture was taken that was on that card, that he could probably find the card number for her. :yay: i was so happy to hear that because i knew she would be so disappointed if she lost those tinker bell pictures! he said just to have her come by the camera center the next night and someone would be happy to help her. :thumbsup2
I'm with you. My FAVORITE meal was Kona. I chose most of the same as you: Lapu Lapu, crab cakes, tuna oscar (OMG!!) and Kilauea torte along with the bread and the best butter in all of WDW. Sorry you didn't get to enjoy as much as you would have liked. Hope a good nights sleep finds you feeling better!
Your Wishes pictures did not even come out bad either! I know its so hard to get good fireworks pictures without a tripod but you did really good! And the castle all lit up like that? WOW. I hope its like that by the time I go in November!! Great update, as usual :thumbsup2
You have to make sure you get a hotdog from gray's papaya-best hotdog in New York as far as I'm concerned. I hope you have a great time, I will actually be in NYC myself starting May 27 with my dh and kiddos. they have never been and are super excited.
When you are downtown, make sure you leave time (and budget money) for shopping at Century 21 www.c21stores.com
I hate drinking tap water here in NY and we have some of the cleanest, best-tasting tap water in the country. The water down in Florida tastes and smells like a mix of fluoride and the sewer and it skeeves me out! My brother's always annoyed too, because whenever he orders soda at a restaurant it's always watered down with tap water and it changes the taste completely :scared: I only drink bottled water when we're down there... I even brush my teeth with it. That's one thing I hate about being down there, I could never get used to the water :laughing:
I loved all the Kona pics! We had lunch there back in 2006 and LOVED it. The crab cakes are sooooo good! I'm glad you had a good dinner, and I hope you started feeling better soon :goodvibes:
in honor of margot turning 1 month old today, i'm posting the video i took the night we met her since i *finally* got around to uploading it!
isn't she a cutie pie???
brett's hearing is in two weeks....we are counting the days! he's gotten to see her 3 times since that night at the hospital, all the visits being about 30 minutes each. at least he's getting to see her but it needs to be longer periods of time and with him on his own with his mom (my stepmom) at her house or something. not overnight yet but several hours at a time would be fine i would think until she's a little bit older. anyway, i had to share these with you guys. she's so precious!
ETA: i wanted to add something so you guys would know why i haven't posted any pictures since the ones i took the day she was born. jordan is not allowing our family to take pictures of her. i won't go into the details here because it's a long story, but basically it boils down to the fact that we have to play by her crazy rules until brett's hearing, where he will get his rights legally as a father. then i'm gonna take AS MANY PICTURES as i want to and put them up here to show my beautiful niece!!!!! i figured you all were probably wondering why i haven't put any more up and that's why. i also want to respect the fact that jordan is her mother and i don't have her permission to put anything up other than these pictures. i could probably get some off jordan's myspace page and put them here but i don't want to sink to that level. i will wait until brett has his rights and he gives me permission as her father to share the pictures the way i feel is appropriate and safe.
also, brett got to see margot today (5/15). he went to her one-month appointment with jordan and he said that they had a good talk, better than they've had in the past visits. he also said that margot checked out great with the doctor and that her little lip was quivering when she was crying while getting her shots and it made him want to yank that needle away from the doctor!!!! haha!
Too bad you weren't feeling well and couldn't get your Lapu Lapu.:sad1:Other than that Kona looks yummy. That is a restaurant that we are for sure going to.
Great castle pics!
thanks for the sympathy! kona is awesome - i highly recommend it!
:woohoo::woohoo:I"m First, I'm First!:woohoo::woohoo: Oh Darn it - where did she come from?:rotfl2:
Okay, since I'm editing:
"after meeting Scott and Biff we were buzzed" - :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Too bad that stomach bug hung on so long:sad2: I'm sorry.
I love your Kona pics! I've heard so much about breakfast there, which we loved - Dinner looks great - that's a "next time" for sure!:thumbsup2 I hope you start feeling better,
almost first!!!! you can still dance - i don't mind.
i totally didn't catch the "buzzing" comment. :rotfl: you should definitely try kona next time....sooooo good!
That terriaki filet looks so good! The castle looks so gorgeous!
it's actually a strip but it's still really tender and good! at least the times that ray's had it it was.
Whoa, that food looked yummy!
Honestly, I know what it feels like to be drained after the first few days of the trip. Sometimes it's just nice to head back to the room early and catch up on sleep. But, the castle with those lights looks beautiful! I hope to see it sometime in real life.
i will have plenty of castle lights coming up at MVMCP the next night!
It's funny that you said that about the water. I have felt that way many times when going to WDW, but not just at Disney. Sometimes at our hotels (we usually stay off-site) as soon as we would walk in, the rooms would smell bad and the bathrooms would be the worst. We realized that it was the water that smelled bad. I always thought that I was just over-sensitive, but everytime we go there throughout the years, that is one thing that still bothers me. Maybe they put chemicals in the water to purify it?? All I know is that I have a hard time re-filling my water bottles from the fountains because I know I won't like the way that it tastes. I think I'm going to try some Crystal Lite packets this time to see if it helps it taste better.
So sorry you missed your pineapple! I have never tried one before so it is now on my list. The castle shot from the end of Main Street is fabulous!
maybe it's just florida water? i don't know but it was gross! i have no idea if that's what made me sick but i have a feeling it did. you MUST try a lapu lapu. it's like $12 but worth every penny! and it's big enough to share - but i guarantee you'll want one of your own after you taste it!
DH and I ate at Kona's during our trip in Dec. I really liked the food but DH not so much :sad2: he doesn't like a lot of sauces and he likes his meat cooked really well. He did like dessert though.:thumbsup2
Sorry about the tummy bug. I've heard a lot of people complain about the water, guess I'll stick to bottled.
ray loves kona and so do i so it works out well! definitely stick to bottled!!!!!
Yay! We love Kona too! Those chicken wings are so good! I really wanted Conan to try the Kilauea Torte (so I could have a try!) but he got the Kona Cone instead! Bummer!
Oooh, and I totally agree about the Kona bread and butter - I could have just eaten that for my meal and I would have been totally happy!! Delicious!
I think we've discussed it before on my trip report, but the water at the WL stank like a sewer too! Ewww! I reckon that's partly what gave me my stomach problems too. Weird!
What pretty photos of MK at night! You all look a bit exhausted on the monorail - it's awful feeling tired at Disney, isn't it!? You try and tell yourself to perk up because it's Disney World, but sometimes there comes a point when you just have to crash! :confused3
Great update Dawn... look forward to hearing more! :yay:
i'm not a huge chocolate lover but anna is so i'm glad she got it so i could try it. i liked the white chocolate and raspberries more than the chocolate part! kona bread and butter = YUMMY! i wonder if they could ship some to me? that's so werid about the water at disney. now i know!!!!! i don't know why it never bothered me before. maybe different times of year? :confused3 we were SO tired at that point! and it carries over into the next day for all the adults but me! :laughing:
Whenever we finally get to Kona, there is no doubt what I want - that teriyaki steak that always looks so good in everyone's pictures!
I am so sorry that you were feeling bad during the trip. It's just a 'bummer' to be in such a fun place for a short time and have any of the good times dampered by feeling bad. I've been there, and it's just annoying, but sometimes we just get the bad luck to have sick days and Disney days overlap. We can be thankful that those are few, though, and that most of our trip days we are feeling great and can go at full speed.
You came through even when sick, though, with lots of great pictures. Watching Wishes from the front ain't all bad sometimes, and you did get a head start on the traffic. We know what it is like to make the choice to give in and call it a night, especially with kids, even when we might want to keep going. It's usually best for all just to get on back and get the much needed rest. A comfortable bed feels really, really good at the end of a long Disney day!
are you guys going to kona next trip? i hope so - it's so good! you will LOVE that bread and butter! this is the first time i've been sick at disney and it wasn't bad enough where i couldn't grin and bear it, so i've been lucky.
I am coveting the teryaki steak and lapu lapu. It's on my must-do list. So sorry your stomach was still upset! :sick:
I think your Wishes pics turned out pretty darn good! And I totally agree - who can walk away from Wishes? :confused3
Good news about Anna's photos - hope they find them!
good choices for kona! ray loves that steak and of course the lapu lapu rocks. thanks about the pictures! i tried.
Kona always looks really good! That cream brulee is enough for me to go there.
You know right before you pointed out Luke's boo boo I noticed something was on his cheek but thought it was the camera angle, poor little guy. My DS7 went to school with a black eye the second day of school because he feel off monkey bars on school property the first day of school. When I picked up the kids from school we stayed to play outside for awhile and he was sweaty and slipped off and landed right on a rock or something. Of course two days later they had new mulch down to cover whatever he hit.
That castle looks awesome in pictures all lit up I could only imagine what it looks like in person - stunning I was guess.
it's always so good! one of my favorites. boys and their boo-boos!!!!! you guys will see that castle all lit up soon enough!
Aw man, I know how bad you wanted a lapu lapu! I am sorry you didn't feel good down there! :hug:
Your wishes pictures still looked good without the tripod!
Kona looks sooooooooooo good! It is on my to-do list! :goodvibes
yeah, you can feel my lapu lapu pain! you will love kona. especially since you can enjoy another one of our favorite drink! i will be super jealous.
i like how fireworks pics come out with out a tri pod, they look cool...high tech cameras make themlook to professional and store bought...ill stick with my mess up ones.
:rotfl:
oh, i can't wait to show you the ones i took at MVMCP. i had a tripod and i used that new setting i discovered at epcot our first night and they are so awesome!
OMG! The food here looks delicious! I've never eaten there, so it looks like a must for the next trip! And I just have to add that I am the same way with chicken on a bone! It disgusts me! People have always made fun of me for that! But I don't care...I think it's just gross and I refuse to eat it!
Awesome!:thumbsup2 The same thing happened to us on our last trip and the photo CM was so helpful! I think I would've cried if I hadn't been able to get our pictures!
you will love kona! it's one of our favorites. i'm glad i'm not the only person that's weird about chicken on a bone. it's just gross! it's so nice that they can usually find the pictures when you misplace the card. it's so scary to think you could lose them all!
I'm with you. My FAVORITE meal was Kona. I chose most of the same as you: Lapu Lapu, crab cakes, tuna oscar (OMG!!) and Kilauea torte along with the bread and the best butter in all of WDW. Sorry you didn't get to enjoy as much as you would have liked. Hope a good nights sleep finds you feeling better!
i wish i could've enjoyed our meal that night more than i did. but oh well - next time! that bread and butter is to die for.
oooh Dawn you just really made me want to try a Kona dinner! The food looks great but just the atmosphere in there is so cool looking too. Its going on my to-do list LOL So sorry that your tummy wasn't feeling well that night and you didn't get to have your beloved lapu lapu! Thats on my to-do list too :laughing:
Your Wishes pictures did not even come out bad either! I know its so hard to get good fireworks pictures without a tripod but you did really good! And the castle all lit up like that? WOW. I hope its like that by the time I go in November!! Great update, as usual :thumbsup2
you guys should def. try kona next time - i bet you'd like it! and getting a lapu lapu is reason enough to do it alone! i'm thinking the castle was lit up in november. i know the osborne lights didn't start until after thanksgiving but i'm pretty sure they started lighting the castle earlier than that.
You have to make sure you get a hotdog from gray's papaya-best hotdog in New York as far as I'm concerned. I hope you have a great time, I will actually be in NYC myself starting May 27 with my dh and kiddos. they have never been and are super excited.
When you are downtown, make sure you leave time (and budget money) for shopping at Century 21 www.c21stores.com
Hope you liked your pendant that I sent you, our room looks amazing thanks to you!
i've made a note! i had heard about gray's papaya before - we are food network addicts! yes, i LOVE the pendant! it's so cute. thanks!
Dawn,
So sad that you still were feeling yucky. Kona was my choice, but no one else wanted to go there, so not this trip- booooo! The castle looks fantastic, can't wait to hear how the next day went, hopefully you were back to normal!
hopefully one day you can make it to kona. it really is a nice little place, either for breakfast or dinner. i haven't tried lunch yet but i hear it's good too.
Great update! Kona is one of my favorites too!
So sorry you were feeling yucky! :hug:
I hope you felt better the next day!
thanks! i love me some kona too!
Another Kona fan here! That is one of our favorite restaurants and even more so now that they have a Sushi bar. :thumbsup2
i've never liked sushi. i'm a texture-based eater and every time i've tried it, it's been mushy. my sister says i just haven't tried the right kind and we're planning on getting some in NYC. we'll see!
I'm sorry you weren't feeling well, especially at your favorite restaurant. I hope the next day was better.
thanks. you will see hopefully in the next several days!
What a great update! I feel so bad for you though...no lapu lapu. :sad1: You poor thing. Sewer water!? Ewwww! :scared: That's all I drink too. Well, we're on the DlxDP so they better bring me some bottled water! Man.
The chocolate dessert at Kona is so good! One of my favorite things at Disney! Kona is delish! I like the glow cube pics! Luke is having so much fun with those!
How many more days 'til we might cross paths here? Wasn't AK your last visit? In my next update your pics will be posted! I think you'll be happy. :goodvibes
thanks! no lapu lapu is definitely a let-down for me. it's something i really look forward to. come to think of it, i REALLY need to try to make one before i start trying to get pregnant!!!! :rotfl: AK was my last day and that was the day you guys were there. it's the next day in my TR. i should have an update done maybe this weekend - we'll see.
How cool you bumped into Scott, great photo too :)
I love Kona too, the food there is always very yummy, so sorry your tummy is still feeling bad :hug:
scott and biff were so nice! i'm glad we saw them. kona rocks!!!
Joining the party here! :cool1:Better late than never, right? Got a lot of catching up to do! But...I have read in other trippies that you have an AWESOME Mexican Lasagne recipe posted somewhere here...Can you pls link me? Thanks...now I am off to more reading!:lmao:
The videos of Margot are so cute. My son (who is 20 months) heard her crying and came running to my computer, where he kept staring at me like "what is wrong w/ her?" He LOVES other little kids.
It made me remember when I was in the hospital w/ him and how special it is for everyone to hold the baby for the first time. Babies are truly little miracles. Don't know too much about the situation w/ your brother, but I am hoping that he will soon get more extended visits w/ her. They change so much in those first few months, and I'm sure he wants as much bonding time with her as possible.
Funny story I had my neice Makayla this weekend and we were looking at our TR from Sept. She said 'WHY :confused3 do you have pictures of food!!' :rotfl: I thought it was so funny, and coming from an 8 year old....well she just thought we were crazy! :rotfl2:
and then i saw it......the first time i saw the castle lights!!!! they were SO PRETTY!!!!!! i knew i'd see it closer the next night but i had to get a couple of pictures from the opposite end of main street. it was just breathtaking!!!!!!
i felt so bad that night because i was supposed to take a picture of the castle with ray's phone and send it to erica. but because ray didn't come in with me, i couldn't! sorry, erica!!!! :guilty:
Oh no worries!! Didn't he forget his phone the next night too :laughing:.
I just found your trip report and have been catching up the past few days. I read it whenever I'm nursing my little one. (She's 3 months.) Our trips overlapped! We arrived in Disney on Sunday and went to MVMCP the same night as you. I'm excited to read that section of your report. I'm loving all of your pictures as we didn't take nearly enough. I was 8 months pregnant and I guess I was preoccupied with where the bathroom was and when our next snack was going to be. :) haha
Those videos of Margot are great! I love the way newborns sound when they cry. I totally understand Brett when he wanted to rip the needle from the doctor. I cried with all of my kids when they were that little. She's absolutely precious and prayers are being said for Brett to have a REAL date with his DD.
two things before i start the update:
1. earlier today i was walking through the living room and i looked down to see this on my couch....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/DSC01030.jpg
:rotfl2:
that would be eli with my mickey throw on top of him.
2. one week from this very minute i will have just taken in some awesome views from top of the rock and will be heading to dinner at blue fin in NYC!!!!!!! :yay: my throat has been sore all day. i REALLY hope i'm not getting sick.
on with the update.......
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
a couple of pictures i forgot to show you from saturday night. the first one is luke holding up a cookie that anna and chris bought him from the gingerbread house at the GF. anna said they picked out a cookie that was like $2 and then he saw this one and liked it better. so they got that one instead and when they got up to the counter to pay for it, it was $10!!!!!!!! :scared1: she said wanted to see if it was 10 dollars worth of yum and she tasted it later and it tasted like crap. it's really supposed to be an ornament so now it's in the basement with all her christmas stuff with a bite taken out of it. :rotfl:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/01-20.jpg
and anna took this one later that night before we all went to bed....so sweet!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/02-19.jpg
so sunday morning came and of course, as always, it was very bittersweet because we had an entire day of disney fun ahead of us and yet it was our last day. :sad1: i woke up feeling a lot better - still kinda blah but much better than the night before.
two sleepy boys! i think luke is eating something that the tinker fairies brought him the night before.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/03-20.jpg
we got up and got ready. the plan today was AK until around 4:00, then go check out the WL christmas decorations and then head to MK for MVMCP. we had a breakfast ADR at tusker house so there was no breakfast to be had that morning at the condo. we got to AK around 9:45 and the first thing we saw was the awesome tree!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/04-20.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/05-20.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/06-20.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/07-20.jpg
i loved the things they had at the bottom of the tree. here's eeyore for erica and memom.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/08-20.jpg
and here's my favorite cricket! i think he looks odd without his hat.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/09-20.jpg
so pretty! i love all the animals in the tree.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/10-20.jpg
we stopped in front of the tree to get some photopass pictures. you can tell how exhausted ray is here. it takes awhile for him to wake up! he was having some bad insomnia this trip and he probably got an average of 2 hours of sleep each night.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/11-20.jpg
now this picture is HILARIOUS!!!!! the photographer told us to put our hands up and say, "WOOOOOOOOOO" and this is what we did. this is one of my favorite pictures of ray - he's so goofy!!!! :rotfl:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/12-20.jpg
next was anna and company's turn.....except that luke wasn't in a picture-posing mood. so they just didn't even try and took one without him. he was too busy checking out all the things under the tree!

here we go! i love the decorations above the sign.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/17-19.jpg
as we were coming into the park we saw flik walking out to do some meet and greets.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/18-20.jpg
at that point we split up. ray and i went to grab fastpasses for EE. we were gonna get anna, luke and chris's tickets to get them some, too, but they wanted to stop to see the characters that were coming out and since we hadn't gone through the turnstyles yet, they needed their tickets to get in. so off ray and i went.
at some point luke got to check out some cool bugs which i'm sure he really loved. he's ALWAYS finding new bugs down at the lake around his house. such a boy!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/19-20.jpg
anna snapped this on the way to africa. i love this view of everest!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/20-19.jpg
our destination!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/21-18.jpg
this area behind the entrance to tusker house is so quiet and pretty!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/22-18.jpg
meanwhile ray and i were heading to asia to get our fastpasses. of course you have to take one of these on the way into the park!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/23-18.jpg
hey, EE....we'll see ya later today!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/24-18.jpg
we headed towards africa to meet up with anna and company at tusker house. on the way i saw a crowd of people gathered and i realized what they were gawking at immediately.........
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/25-18.jpg
IT'S DEVINE!!!!!!!! :yay: i'm SO GLAD i got to see her! this was my 5th trip to AK in two years and this was the first time i'd seen her. she's SO cool and just really graceful and haunting. i loved it! that's one job i think i'd LOVE doing, especially seeing all the reactions she gets.

here's some video ray took of her.

we saw chris while we were watching devine and he was headed towards EE to get them some fastpasses. he said anna was checking in at tusker house so we headed that way. on the way over we saw baloo and king louie. i always see them here but i've never waited to meet them. maybe one day! this one kid turned around and saw big baloo standing there and starting RUNNING away at full speed. his parents were like, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?????" it was really funny!

we found anna and headed back to the area behind tusker house where people wait to be called to their table. i'd never been back here before and it's really nice and peaceful.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/34-10.jpg
this was our view......
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/35-10.jpg
our ADR was at 10:25 and we checked in around 10:15. we didn't take the picture because the background looked dumb to me and i wasn't about to pay the money to buy the picture. so we just sat down and waited. chris got back pretty soon with their fastpasses to EE.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/36-10.jpg
check out anna's expression in this picture....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/37-10.jpg
i don't know what luke was doing but when i showed her that picture she was like, "that's awful!!!!!! i look like i hate my son!" so she made me take another one.........
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/38-10.jpg
:lmao:
then it was time for ray and i to pose. i won't tell you what he did just before this was taken because it's a gross boy thing.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/39-10.jpg
around 10:40 i was starting to get aggitated with waiting. we were all STARVING because we hadn't had breakfast. i went to check on our table and - what do you know - we were called about 3 minutes later!
here's the area where the buffet is. really authentic and pretty. it's like a little market.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/40-8.jpg
our server was excellent here. i think we all got that jungle juice stuff to drink and anna, chris and me had coffee, too. the juice was yummy! wish i had some right now. here's my first plate. clockwise from bottom: cornbread, apple crepe, croissant, breakfast potatoes, some sort of breakfast casserole, tater tots, bacon, grapes and some sort of bread pudding type stuff with vanilla bean sauce. it was all REALLY GOOD!!!!!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/41-7.jpg
soon after we got our first plates goofy showed up. he took a picture with luke....sorta.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/42-7.jpg
then he headed towards us and said hi and as i was getting ready to get up to get a picture with him, he turned around to the other table.....:eek:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/43-7.jpg
in all the character meals i've done this is the first time i've been snubbed by a character and i was really peeved about it. as soon as this happened i looked at anna and said, "i'm gonna say something because i'm not paying $20 a pop for breakfast food - part of that price is for the character interaction." he must have heard me because he came back to us after he was done with the table behind us and we got this picture, which still didn't turn out good. you could tell he was in a hurry and it was just really rushed.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/44-6.jpg
i asked anna if they wanted one and she said yes so he stopped quickly for another picture.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/45-6.jpg
we love goofy but this guy was just not in the mood that day or something. :sad2:
next it was time for a parade and dancing!!!!!! the CMs handed out musical instruments to all the kids and donald started a parade around the restaurant. so cute!

luke ended up with like 5 plates by the time chris and anna had gotten all of his food! :laughing: i think he's making pirate faces here.

next up was daisy.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/63-2.jpg
as she was signing luke's autograph book, someone said something about daisy being donald's girlfriend. luke thought that was so funny and the interaction between he and daisy was SO cute! they were both giggling and just feeding off each other. he really bonded with her!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/64-2.jpg

i'm always taller than daisy! :laughing:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/67-1.jpg
after the characters came by i got one more plate. clockwise from bottom: bacon, an orange-flavored cake, ham with some kind of honey-flavored sauce (SO GOOD), mealie pap (which i was iffy about but it was SO GOOD too!!!!), ham and cheese breakfast casserole.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/68-1.jpg
i got another plate of pastry-like stuff but i forgot to take a picture of it. i know i got some more of that pap stuff. it was SO GOOD!!!! i was really surprised i liked all this stuff so much.
i'm really glad we ended up with an ADR here. i wanted a character meal for luke and this is the one that just ended up working best for our schedule. the food was EXCELLENT and the service was good, aside from the goofy snub, the characters were really good too. ray even made the comment that this was the cheapest of our TS meals and it was the best as far as the food and experience go. :thumbsup2
up next.....my favorite - the gorillas!!!! :lovestruc

I have tears in my eyes after watching those videos, and I don't even know you, let alone your brother! What a tender sweet moment, thank you for sharing it. Good luck to him at the hearing. And don't forget...status quo stands for a lot down the road. Don't let her make a status quo situation that your brother will not be able to get around later!
I love that she stopped crying when your brother held her.

Oooh oooh is this the last day/my first day? So I could possibly spot myself in some of these pictures! Okay I have to start with that pic of Luke and his daddy in his MICKEY PJ's. How cute is that? He's this big buff guy with piercings and Mickey pants. I love it. Luke looks exactly like him. If they have a little girl she'll look just like Anna.
That spider!!! Chimere would freak! I have to get her there at opening next time. LOL
We love Tusker House! The pic of you and Ray with Mickey is so good! You guys must have been one of the last tables. It looks empty. Fooey on Goofy! I always get that treatment from Pooh at Crystal Palace. THREE TIMES! I'm not planning to go back, ever!

I am just now getting caught up. The videos of Margot are so cute! Jordan is so mean not to let anyone take any pictures. And I feel so bad for Brett that he has only seen his baby three times.:sad2: Hopefully it will be a lot more soon. She sounds crazy.
On to the report. Chris and Anna look like such fun parents! They are always taking funny pictures and acting goofy with him. It is so cute and you can tell that they adore him.
Devine looks so awsome. I hope that we get to see her while we are there. But if you have been there five times and only seen her once it doesn't look good.
I think I have the same shirt as you. The pink striped one, is it from old navy?

I hope you feel better before your New York trip.
I just love the AK Christmas tree -- the colors and ornaments are so pretty.
Hurray for Tusker House! We love it there, but I can't believe Goofy snubbed you! How rude! :eek:
Luke always looks like he is thoroughly enjoying himself -- such a cutie!

It's your last day already? :eek: I don't want it to end! Yours is the second great review of TH that I've read this weekend. I may just have to try it -- if only for that juice!
I've never seen Devine - she looks so cool! I would never be able to walk on stilts so gracefully.
Luke & Chris are just adorable. He's a great dad, you can tell. And tell Anna not to worry about that pic - we know she's a great mom too. :)

Hi Dawn,
What a great update. Halarious about the cookie/ornamament, wonder if they were even supposed to be edible : ) Loved the AK decorations, thanks for taking all the great pictures of it! I am so glad you got to see DIVINE, isn't she amazing! Great video of her too! I loved the pictures of Anna and Luke when she said the first pic looked like she hated her kid and then you took another one:rotfl: too funny!:laughing:. Sorry about Goofy at Tusker House, you know, of all the character meals I've always felt the most rushed there, we've always gotten like 2.5 seconds with each character, glad he came back though. Can't wait to read more, great report as always.

Look at the way the haughty zebras and the accusing giraffes are looking at Eeyore, like he's done something wrong! No wonder he's sad - poor guy!
Just walking up to that awesome tree gives me such a great feeling, and that's before I even get into the park and do anything. I really, really, really like Animal Kingdom!
Jill and crew did the Tusker House breakfast in October and liked it. I can't remember if she said characters seemed rushed there or not. I'll have to ask her again what their experience was.
The characters are very cute in their safari clothes. The bulletin board outside my classroom has Winnie, Tigger, and Eeyore in safari clothes (the plush dolls) and animal print letters that says Third Grade is an Adventure!, so I get a momentary Animal Kingdom fix every morning when I walk into my room. I will probably use the same board next year, since it turned out so cute, only it'll say Second Grade, and it'll be further down the hall, since I'm getting to change classes. :)
Thanks for all the great pictures to start off my Monday!

I thought I quoted a picture (oh well) but I had to comment about Chris' Mickey PJ bottoms - love them. I don't think my DH would EVER wear those. Tell Chris he rocks! I hope I get to see DeVine as well. She always looks so beautiful and graceful.
I have to sat I was snubbed my Eeyore. Me and DH were walking in Epcot and we went back to watch the "Beetles" so I was sitting on some steps back there having a ciggy break when all of sudden out comes Eeyore and he walked right by me. I threw my camera to DH and started following him to get into line so I could get my picture with him, well he totally ignored me and kept turning around to see if other kids were there and totally would not look at me, I kept touching him say "hi Eeyore" - nothin'. So I decided I was not going to see characters anymore and that was that. I was hurt, I paid money to get into Disney, why shouldn't I get my picture and autograph with him - because I had no kids, not fair. Then we moved onto France, Belle was out there in the garden area with Beast, DH wouldn't let me stand in line so I took a picture from afar well Belle looked at me and said something like Beast gets mad about something, like I wasn't standing in line so put down the camera - then he started stopping his feet. I was like :confused: Well I would say the next day we saw Chip and Dale in MK in Adventure Land I believe and DH talked me into getting my picture with them and I am glad I did because they stood on either side of me and rubbed my back. Yup I decided I would get my picture with the characters but not Eeyore! So there. I boycotted Eeyore for a long time. I did however go to Crystal Palace in 2004 and he was there and was so nice to me I decided I would :love:Eeyore again. So I totally understand what you're coming from. Sorry that was long.

I think it's great that Chris got up and danced around with Luke, again my DH would have not have done that, he's almost a Disney party pooper. It almost looks like Chris was having more fun than the kids :goodvibes

Tusker house looks like it is a great place for breakfast! I love all the pictures of the Christmas tree at AK. We didn't get to visit AK or DHS on our Thanksgiving trip so it is nice to be able to see the decorations.

Your pictures in front of the AK tree are great. I am glad you enjoyed Tusker House. We had reservations there but ended up not going for some reason. It sounds like the food was really good. How much of that food did Luke end up eating? That was quite a feast he had.
I hope things go well with your brother's hearing. I know you are ready to start spoiling your beautiful niece.

So obviously I thought it was a great update. The pictures of all the interaction at TH came out really good. I loved it there too and we definitely will be back to eat there again. but i just HAD to share these with you guys!!!!!! audrey (my stepmom/brett's mom) called me today and said that jordan randomly e-mailed her some pictures. i will never be able to figure that girl out! :confused3 the point is we got some new pictures of little miss margot!!!!
i'm guessing this one was taken not too long after she was born. she looks very similar to what she looked like at the hospital....

IluvXU and MeMom are correct!! Its breastfed poopy!!! I looked really close and you can see where her little onesie is wet around it. Poor thing!!!!!!!
That would explain why she has the peeved look on her face!!!!!! Not wanting to be ugly, but come on Jordan!!! Change her...then take a picture!

Breakfast looks yummy! Your pictures are great! We are headed there in June. Can't wait!
it was so good! you guys will love it!
I always miss divine!
I would have made a complaint about the Goofy as well! Glad you sort of got the picture.
I think I should grab scott and show up somewhere where you guys are when in NYC- LOL Just jokin!
yeah, goofy was just not good that day. i would love to see you and scott!
I was about to say, I Hope Goofy came back!!!! Ugh!!!! I remember before we had Hollie, Chad and I would go to character breakfast all the time! I love them! I would have been very upset if I was snubbed by one!
I know your excited about your New York trip!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes
that was the first time ever i got snubbed. but of course i had to say something!
You better NOT be getting sick!!!! You need JP+!!!!!! ;)
I can't believe your trip is this close!!
:love: Love him....and I'm not so sure why...I'm not a http://bestsmileys.com/sad/8.gif person
In fact I'm probably more like :tigger:
Ohhh....I would like to meet Flik!!
You could hug tree's :rotfl:
Love the Mickey pic!!!
:thumbsup2 Gotta love that!
i know! i think it's just sinuses. oh, i learned a new trick for itchy sinus ears. take a q-tip and put it in hydrogen peroxide and then clean your ears out with it. you will hear it fizzing in our ear. when it stops take a clean q-tip and clean it again. it helped my ears!
eeyore's just a cutie - you gotta love him! i love that mickey pic, too.
great update!!
cool pictures of Devine--we loved her last August when we saw her, too:goodvibes
thanks! she was awesome.
Thanks for sharing Tusker House. I would love to have fit that in with Daisy. We enjoyed it in the old location! Awesome seeing Devine! I am beyond sad this is your last day..
me too! :laughing: devine was so cool. you guys would love tusker house - add it to your list of "someday" things! my list gets longer all the time!
I love that she stopped crying when your brother held her.
you're so sweet! i love how my dad's talking to her and she's sort of cooing back at him. so cute!
LOVING the pic of Luke and Donald!!! And way to go Chris, he rocked the house with his Donald Dance. LOLOL (and totally something I would do. hey, at disney we are all just big kids!)
chris was awesome dancing with donald! :laughing:

Great Update! I loved the parade! That breakfast looks really good - much better than breakfastsaurus was, and you got such cute pics!
thanks! the breakfast was awesome. i'd definitely do it again.
I'm not planning to go back, ever!
yep, this is it!
they bought those PJ bottoms for chris for the trip. they were cute! our ADR was at 10:35 so i'm sure we were one of the last tables. i didn't want an early ADR though - none of us are early risers!
The pink striped one, is it from old navy?
chris and anna are a blast! devine was so cool. be sure to look for her on the path between africa and asia. that's where we saw her. my guess was it was around 10:20 or so. and yes, that shirt is from old navy. my neighbor has one too! :laughing:
Awesome Animal Kingdom update!!!
I hope you feel better before your New York trip.
I just love the AK Christmas tree -- the colors and ornaments are so pretty.
Hurray for Tusker House! We love it there, but I can't believe Goofy snubbed you! How rude! :eek:
Luke always looks like he is thoroughly enjoying himself -- such a cutie!
thanks! i hope so too. right now i'm so STUFFY!!! tusker house was so much fun other than goofy. he was in a mood that day!
me neither! TH is so much fun. i'd highly recommend it! just FYI - you can get the same juice at boma. if it's not exactly the same it's VERY close. devine is so awesome. so talented!
Hi Dawn,
What a great update.
Lesley
thanks! they probably weren't supposed to be edible but she tried it anyway! :laughing: devine was so cool! the other characters were awesome but goofy must have had a date or something - he wasn't nice and was definitely in a hurry!
Thanks for all the great pictures to start off my Monday!
poor eeyore! those mean giraffes and zebras. :sad2: so cute about the characters outside your room. i wish i could've had you for a teacher in third grade!!! glad i helped start your monday out in a good way.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your TR- I'm loving Luke as well. Love his hair (I know he's had it cut since), and is actually the style my ds is growing his hair into. See how inspirational your TR is. You'll have to mention to Anna that Luke's hair is inspiring to a little boy in Sydney, Australia. :rotfl:
thanks! i will definitely tell anna what you said about luke's hair. i love it - it just suits him! he got it cut but it's still pretty shaggy.

Tusker House looks great. That may have to be on our schedule for places to go. I have never had my picture with Daisy so that will be cool.
chris was proud of those pants! he bought them especially for this trip. glad that you and eeyore have since made amends. you can't stay mad at eeyore! :laughing: chris was definitely having fun! tusker house was definitely fun. i'd recommend it for sure!
Tusker house looks like it is a great place for breakfast! I love all the pictures of the Christmas tree at AK. We didn't get to visit AK or DHS on our Thanksgiving trip so it is nice to be able to see the decorations.
I am so glad that your brother has gotten to see Margot again...I hope that once he goes to court that he will get to spend more time with her.
it was so fun! and AK at christmas is really pretty. thanks for the good thoughts about margot.
I know you are ready to start spoiling your beautiful niece.
thanks! he was hungry - i don't think he ate it all but he did a good job. he LOVES bacon so he ate a ton of that! and you know i'm SO ready to spoil her!
that breakfast does look good, i would like to try chef mickeys for breakfast some time, i lover there dinners so i am sure hte breakfast would be just as good.
i've never done chef mickey's for anything. not that it's bad - i just hear it's overrated. i'm sure i'll make it there someday!
Dawn I just did a Tusker House breakfast update on my TR yesterday too and yours way just way better! I have to make sure to check with you to make sure we're not going to update on the same thing on the same day because yours made mine look bad!! :laughing:
So obviously I thought it was a great update. The pictures of all the interaction at TH came out really good. I loved it there too and we definitely will be back to eat there again. The food was soooo good! I'm going to have to try that mealie pap stuff because I didn't get any this time. Beautiful pictures of the rest of AK too. I really just love this park!!
great minds think alike! :laughing: and you're silly - yours is awesome! i loved the food there. i want to go back for breakfast tomorrow!!!! :laughing:
Okay seriously Dawn, this was the most hilarious update ever!
The boys sleeping on the couch was adorable!
Ray's "Woo!" photo!
Anna's "I hate my son" then "I love you" photo!
Luke's 1,000 plates and pirate face photo!
:rotfl::lmao:
:rotfl: thanks! ray's "woo" photo cracks me up.
Tusker House looks good! I love to think about Disney food. :rotfl:
Glad you were feeling better for your last day!

thanks for the insight on the poop!!!! :rotfl: i called audrey and she said that that made sense because brett had said something to her about jordan telling him that margot had pooped on herself at some point. so i think she was taking the picture as funny proof! :rotfl: jordan's not my favorite person in the world but i don't think she'd torture the baby with leaving her in that diaper.
oh, and thanks for the NYC well wishes. i will be doing a mini TR on the community board when i get back and i'll for sure post the link here.
hopefully i'll have more margot pics for you guys in the near future. ;)

Yep that blowout diapers look like a few that I have changed with Brooklynn and now with Bella. I have to say sometimes I do want to take a picture to show John of just how much poop can come out of his little princesses. Probably not one I would e-mail to everyone but if your family you get the good with the bad and that one looked pretty bad on the blowout diaper scale. Have fun on your trip. i'm home!!!!!! i'm EXHAUSTED. even more so than when i get home from disney world. yesterday around 4:00 or so i hit a wall and my little feet just said....UM.....NO!!!!! so i'm laying in bed and i'm actually gonna go to sleep here very soon. we had a great time with the highlights being wicked, central park, st. paul's chapel, top of the rock and the food.....the lowlights being chinatown, figuring out the subway system and dealing with rude tourists. the locals, from what we could tell, were super friendly. it's just our fellow tourists who i wanted to smack some sense in to.
i will start the TR soon and will provide the link here. just wanted to let you guys know i'm home!

i'm home!!!!!! i'm EXHAUSTED. even more so than when i get home from disney world. yesterday around 4:00 or so i hit a wall and my little feet just said....UM.....NO!!!!! so i'm laying in bed and i'm actually gonna go to sleep here very soon. we had a great time with the highlights being wicked, central park, st. paul's chapel, top of the rock and the food.....the lowlights being chinatown, figuring out the subway system and dealing with rude tourists. the locals, from what we could tell, were super friendly. it's just our fellow tourists who i wanted to smack some sense in to.
i will start the TR soon and will provide the link here. just wanted to let you guys know i'm home!
Awww, yeah!!!! I can't wait to hear all about it!!!!!!! I know your just dying to tell me about Wicked!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

thank you all so much for all your compliments on my niece! i agree - she is adorable....poop and all! :laughing: just so you know, brett's hearing got postponed until next week because the judge was out of town. but jordan has been really good lately about letting him see her. so hopefully everything will work out soon enough!
also, i want to thank all of you for your well wishes for the trip and welcome homes the past couple of days. you guys are the best!!!!
Tusker House looks so yummy...and like so much fun! Well, except for the whole Goofy incident!
it was sooooo good! and lots of fun too.
Okay, I know I'm REALLY late joining this thread .... but better late than never, huh? I just want to ask you where did you find the condo to stay in? You really cannot beat $109/night for that place. Does someone just own the condo or is it part of a resort?
PS - enjoying the trip report! :goodvibes
welcome to my TR!!!! i will PM you the link to the page where i found the condo. the guy owns several and he's VERY nice and his rates are great. i'd highly recommend him! he owns several privately so it's not part of a resort, but does share a pool, playground, etc. with other condos on the property.
I don't know how I missed a new update...and it's so funny! :lmao:
I can see why you are friends with Anna, Chris and Luke. They know how to have a good time. Thier pics are priceless. :thumbsup2
I want a pair of Mickey pjs. So cute.
The AK tree is so cool.
I'm glad Goofy came to his senses and came back for a pic...is that not his job after all...:rotfl:
Wow, Tusker House looks like a fantastic meal, maybe I should fit it into my plans. The food always looks so yummy! :)
Margot is a beautiful little girl! Very sweet pics! :cutie:
:cool2: Have an amazing time in NYC!!! :cool2:
anna and chris are always lots of fun! i agree about that being goofy's job. what gives???? the breakfast food at tusker house was AWESOME! i wish i had some right now.
:rolleyes1I have been lurking on your trip report the whole way through and I just wanted to thank you for a great read....I can't wait for you to finish it. My family and I are going this December and I have gotten many tips from your report.
PS I just started my PTR...not much there...yet keep your eye out! I need to find out how to put a link in my signature!;)
oh, you're welcome! thanks so much for coming out of lurkdom to say hello. glad i could help you plan your trip!
Good morning and goodbye! Have a great time!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
so after our awesome breakfast we decided to check out the wait for the safari as it was very close to the tusker house. luke and chris found some cool posts along the way....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/01-21.jpg
neato trees in africa.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/02-20.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/03-21.jpg
the wait was too long so we got fastpasses and then headed for this.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/04-21.jpg
my favorite trail at AK!
anna and i ended up taking pictures of each other taking a picture when we got up to the first animal area.....we are so silly!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/05-21.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/07-21.jpg
i love their long tails!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/08-21.jpg
ray took some video of them.......
next was the okapis.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/11-21.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/09-21.jpg
luke got to see some okapi and giraffe skulls...
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/10-21.jpg
ray took some video of these, too, of course!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/th_MOV02124.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/?action=view¤t=MOV02124.flv)
you can sort of hear in the video that luke was commenting on how they look like zebras. he's four - he doesn't know that they're related to the giraffe and not the zebra. there was a lady there that was trying to correct him and luke said, "no, they're a zebra." and she started arguing with him. :confused3 there's a difference between teaching your child or maybe your friend's child or your grandchild about how they're related to the giraffe and not the zebra but arguing with a total stranger's child is kinda just odd to me. chris said something like, "maybe they're a mix of zebra and giraffe," just to shut her up. :rotfl:
we split up at some point during this trail but i'm not sure when. so i'm just going to post our pictures together because it makes more sense that way.
ray and i got behind this sweet couple and i said that would be us wheelin around disney world in 50 years!
a pac man frog!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/13-21.jpg
the hippos were being very elusive that day. we didn't see a single one. they were too far away to see underwater too.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/14-21.jpg
fun on the trail!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/15-20.jpg
time for the meerkats! i just love these.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/16-21.jpg
this guy was also nearby....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/17-20.jpg
video of the meerkats! i love this area but it's always so crowded and loud.
chris and luke enjoying the meerkats.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/18-21.jpg
next were my favorite: THE GORILLAS!!!!! i could spend an entire day watching them. one day if i win the lottery i'm going to go to disney world for a month-long trip and do a multiple deluxe resort stay and that way i'll have enough time to dedicate a whole day to watching the gorillas!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/19-21.jpg
he looks like he's pondering something really hard!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/20-20.jpg
then he walked up several feet and sat there in this position for a few minutes.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/21-19.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/22-19.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/23-19.jpg
then he got up and walked back to where he was....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/24-19.jpg
when we looked back at where he was sitting he had left a big pile of gorilla poop! :rotfl: don't worry - i didn't take a picture!
he apparently was hungry again because he immediately started eating.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/25-19.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/26-18.jpg
then he decided to take another nap.....
what a life!!!
here's the video. don't worry - it's poop-free too.
here's part two of our gorilla videos. you can hear me on the phone with anna in one part telling her to look for the gorilla behind the glass because he was really cool and that ray filmed him taking a crap! :lmao:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/th_MOV02128.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/?action=view¤t=MOV02128.flv)
The meercats are so cool. I love how quirky they are.
You have such good pictures of the gorillas! The bowl on the head was classic. I posted this on someone else's report (I can't remember who) but we had a great experience one time w/ them too. It was near the end of the day. The park was closing and we came to the end of the gorilla section and there were probably 5 of the gorillas moving all the way to the side.
There was only a few other people around and a CM came out and told us to stay and watch for a few minutes. They had a routine at the end of the day to round up the gorillas. They had trained them to move towards the backstage exit, and if they did it they got this frozen fruit/ice thing in a cup as a treat. They all sat there and waited for the CM and she threw these cups of frozen fruit to them from the path that we all were standing on. They would catch them or chase them down and then all sat there & ate them for probably 10 minutes. It was the most amazing thing, because it was all very calm & orderly. We took a ton of pictures during the whole thing. Then when they were done they all went into the back stage area. I will never forget it.
I can't believe the lady would have an argument with a 4 year old about what an animal is related to!
Maybe she knows that the Okapi are going to take over the world and she wanted him to be able to tell the difference between Okapis and Zebras?:laughing:
I think I'll ask a CM what time they start gathering them up in the evenings and try to get by and see that this summer. That would be something new for us, and we're always looking for new things to check out.
You got really good pictures, and of course the videos just make us easily picture ourselves standing right in those spots.
We went in June once, too - IKWYM. We kind of run through there because of the heat - totally missed the meerkats, but there are alot of educational things there, miss teacher:goodvibes There is a covered shed with glass front homes of hairless rats, some different skulls on display, and I think different "poos" and tracks, with CMs on hand to teach.
There is a bird net right before the gorillas with a card to identify the different birds. It isn't as hot as being out on the regular street in the sun.
You got really good pictures, and of course the videos just make us easily picture ourselves standing right in those spots.
:thumbsup2 to Chris for his diplomatic way of handling an uncomfortable situation with the lady talking to Luke.
i really want to see that now! i've made a mental note to go to the pangani trail near closing next time.
As always loved this installment Dawn. I loved all of the footage. Since we always go in June and AK is so stinkin' hot we've never done the trail, looks great though. Thanks for all of the pics and video. Looking forward to you conquering the mountain!
Lesley
thanks! maybe you guys can hit the trail early one morning to avoid the heat. i know AK is always so hot - i can't imagine how hot it is in the summer!
Brooklynn loves watching the gorillas and since I love it too we can spend a lot of time in front of that glass. I always feel bad though because there are others who want to see them. I'll just have to go during an off time and watch for a while.
i'm with brooklynn - i could spend all day there!
I love the gorilla with a bowl on his head. They are very funny animals. One of the gorillas at the Memphis Zoo loves to watch TV and his favorite show is Rachael Ray.
that is hilarious!
Great videos! Eek! That frog is gross!
Great update! So fun!
:laughing: i love frogs but that one does look a big gooey!
OMG I love the pics of the gorilla with the bowl on his head. I just showed the kids and they couldn't stop laughing. I love to just stand there and watch them. They're so awesome! I'm heading over to the NYC TR now. I need to get my May TR started...I usually don't move this slow. :goodvibes
i love those pictures, too. we didn't see him - anna and company did. they were behind us and apparently he started doing that after we had walked on ahead.
The gorilla pictures were great! I got some great gorilla pictures when we went to the zoo in April, I'll post them on my report just for you :)
cool....i'll be sure to check them out!
Oh man, the Pangani trail is wayyy cooler than the Marharaja (or however its spelled) trail! Those gorillas are soooo cool. I like the one with the bowl on his head, thats so funny. :rotfl:
BTW, that lottery plan sounds reeeeally good! :thumbsup2
did you guys do the pangani trail? i can't remember! if not....NEXT TIME! ;)
Believe it or not, I've never gone on the trails. Have to change that this time! What's up w/ the lady trying to school Luke? :confused3 People are nuts! Lots of great pictures this update-- as always. I especially love the gorilla with the bowl on his head! And thanks for the poo free update! ;)
oh, you'd love them! you really need to check them out next time. glad to oblige with the poo-free update. :rotfl:
Sometimes people feel the need to argue with kids, I don't know why :confused3 it confuses me too. He's four for pete's sake. The gorilla with the bowl on the head was a hit over here too. My DD3 was sitting on my lap while I'm reading this and she laughed. and asked why he has a bowl Gotta go over to your NYC thread but we're going out tonight (date night with DH and some friends) so I'll have to read it tomorrow.
seriously! glad your kids enjoyed the gorilla! hope you had fun on your date night!
before i start on this update i have to share with you what we did this weekend. saturday was anna's 29th birthday and she worked out a deal with a local kayak-renting company for all of us to go kayaking on the chattahoochee river for really cheap. so saturday morning we all met up for our adventure. here we all are.....left to right: chris, anna, greg, melanie, another greg (anna's BIL), natalie (anna's sister), amanda, rebekah, me and ray.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/DSC02138.jpg
notice the sign behind us says, "the dam store." that's because they're located near buford dam. and boy, do they play on the words! when i asked where the bathroom was the guy said, "up the dam stairs and down the dam hallway." :rotfl:
ray and i decided to get a double kayak and go together. well, it was enjoyable OTHER than the fact that one of the first things that happened was ray ran into a tree and managed to scrape the front of my left leg in the process. but that wasn't the worst part. oh, no.
there aren't that many rapids in this area but there are a few small ones. on one of the biggest ones we went into it forwards, like you're supposed to, but our kayak quickly got turned sideways before we could stop it and the next thing we knew, we were tipping over....INTO 48-DEGREE WATER!!!!! :scared1: at first i was fine. i just found my footing (it was only about 3-4 feet of water) and started to grab the boat to get it turned back over. then the COLD hit me. i'm telling you, i've always been baffled when i hear that someone drowns in 3 feet of water. but now i know. when you're in water that cold you literally CANNOT move. it's like your brain is telling you to do something and your body is going.....UM....NO!!!! on top of the shock of the cold water i was trying to hang on to our huge kayak which was not helping me find my footing. i looked back to see that ray had let go of the kayak and i was the only one holding it....hence the struggle. chris yelled at me to let go of it and he'd go catch it down the river. so i did and it took a few seconds for me to find a place where i could actually climb out of the water without being either sucked away by the current or bust my backside on the slippery rocks. when i got out i was SHAKING, half from shock and half from being freezing cold. i had to stand there for a few minutes to get myself back together again. it was not a good feeling.
to add to it chris got our boat to the side of the river (thank goodness) but in order to get to it i had to trapse in and out of branches and rocks up to my knees in freezing cold water. so by the time i got back to the boat i couldn't feel my feet. even though it was hot on saturday i didn't warm up for about 30 minutes. it was quite an experience!
other than that, i really enjoyed it! it was nice being out on the peaceful river on such a nice day! and i was glad to see that anna had a great birthday.
on to the TR........
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
after the pangani trail i called anna and told her that ray and i were heading for everest and we'd go ahead and ride, to just meet us there and then they could ride while we watched luke. i was itching to conquer that mountain!
some pictures along the way.....

we ran into devine again (funny - 2 times in 1 trip when i hadn't ever seen her in the 4 trips prior!). this time she was making an arch for us to walk through. REALLY cool!

as we walked away from devine i overhead a woman telling her friends to keep an eye out for the "tree lady" because she really wanted to see her. i stopped and told her friend where to find her. my good deed for the day was done!
i took these on the way to EE. i had to post this one because i learned from kristin that the points on the temple mirror the points on everest. :teacher:

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/19-22.jpg
i ALWAYS take this picture. does anyone else pretend like they didn't know the track ends??? :rotfl2:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/20-21.jpg
i ALWAYS take this picture, too. i just like seeing what everyone behind me is doing.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/21-20.jpg
we survived our encounter with the yeti yet again. when we got off and i went to see our picture, i waited and waited. but nothing! we were robbed ONCE AGAIN! so no redneck picture of EE for you guys.
while we were on the ride i felt my phone in my pocket vibrate so i checked it and anna had called us. i called her back and they were on their way over, so it old her we'd meet them near the exit of EE. i took this while we were waiting......so peaceful!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/22-20.jpg
meanwhile, anna, chris and luke were making their way over to EE from the pangani trial. she took these on the way.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/23-20.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/26-19.jpg
remember this kiosk....we will visit it again later!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/24-20.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/27-16.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/25-20.jpg
we met them a few minutes later and as they were getting on the ride luke began to become very upset. he didn't want them to ride. somebody was sleepy! anna really wanted to ride because they had come to AK in 2007 and didn't ride EE because luke was so small and they didn't really ride anything for the adults. anna talked to him for awhile and eventually chris gave me some money to take him to buy some monkey he had seen at a kiosk a few minutes before. so away they went on EE.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/28-17.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/29-16.jpg
finally on EE! she'd been waiting to ride this for almost 2 years.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/30-15.jpg
this was their "scared" faces!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/31-14.jpg
anna took pictures on the ride, too! great minds think alike.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/32-14.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/33-12.jpg
this is so funny - she took a picture of the view of the right side...completely the opposite of me! so we got both sides.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/34-12.jpg
aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/35-12.jpg
here's their redneck picture.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/36-12.jpg
of course they loved it!
while they were riding luke and i headed back to find the kiosk with the monkey. ray stayed with the stroller near EE. the kiosk was easy to spot - it was full of stuffed animals! it was actually the one in the picture above. when we got there he changed his mind though. he no longer wanted the monkey but wanted a leopard instead. that was fine by me! while we were paying for the leopard the sky opened up and it POURED!!!!! we took cover under the little shade of the kiosk - there was just enough room for me, luke and the CM there. so we didn't get too wet. luckily it was a quick shower and was over really quickly.
we met back up with everyone and at that point it was around 1:20. there was a 1:45 showing of finding nemo so we decided to do that.
heading towards nemo with a new friend!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/37-12.jpg
bye everest....see ya in a couple years!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/38-11.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/39-11.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/40-9.jpg
at one point i looked up to see this. ray, anna and chris are all OUT! i guess the air conditioning in there and 3.5 days of going strong at disney world was getting to them all! me and luke were the only ones awake. :lmao:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/41-8.jpg
i'll stop here because i have lots of nemo pics. next up....clownfish, giraffes and a kidnapped baby elephant adventure!
