I was looking at food pics on the catergorized thread and came across one of yours...how was this??? http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/9-6%20Epcot%20WS-2/11.jpg

I will give my answer. I had a bite from that very bowl.
IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!! Definitely order it, it was awesome. I think I ate more of Dawn's meal there than I did my own :rotfl:

Awww, I wish we lived closer and I would so meet you guys one day to skate!!!!!! Especially if they played any 80's music!!!:rotfl2:

Well if I drive down then you can come to the other side of Atlanta to meet us to skate!! Would be lots of FUN! :upsidedow

I just looked at your skating pics and you guys have me cracking up! :rotfl: Especially the one when are taking a brake the other girl looks so beat! I'm glad you had a good time! Two falls isn't to shabby either.:thumbsup2

Your skating night looked so fun! We had a rink like that built in the 70s to replace one from the 30s - they tore it down last Summer and built a strip mall of office space that No one has rented yet. There is nothing for kids to do here - sad.

As for your pics - that guy with the "saggy drawers" posing behind Angie on the floor is too funny!:lmao: I'm glad you had a great time!

OOPS - didn't see that someone else already posted about "that guy"

i used to love roller skate parties, you were cool if you had one, i used to be good, but i bet i would fall on my butt if i went now.

Finally,caught up AGAIN:goodvibes DS(2) is loving this TR as much as I am. We are in a Cars phase right now and when he saw the pics of "QueenLight", as he calls him, and Mater, his face lit up like Christmas morning. I cannot wait for him to meet his heroes. He was also loving the Monster's Inc characters in the parade. THANK YOU for so many wonderful pictures!

I was loving your report on Sci-Fi Drive In. I have been going back and forth over ADR's for Sci-Fi or 50's Prime Time. Both look so good and I cannot decide which one to go with. If you had to choose between the two, which would you recommend?

I cannot believe I am still over a year and a half out from our trip and I am already this excited and obsessive over our plans. By the time it gets here, I will be impossible to live with(Ok, DH already thinks I am :lmao: )

Update on this comment. I had even thought of starting a update on the TR but the fan on my laptop died. So it is not working right now :guilty: We'll see how long it takes to get fixed and how much $$$$. B/c since we have the desktop it won't be a huge rush to get it done. But no more updates at least til it's running b/c all of my pictures are on there :rolleyes1

I would like to see the one in Buford. B/c honestly from those pictures that was a pretty decent rink. And it's bulit EXACTLY like the ones here. The nashville rinks (Brentwood, Rivergate and Smyrna) are all owned by the same man. And supposedly he is the 'king' of roller skating rinks :laughing:

no worries! if you want i can upload the pictures if it looks like it's gonna be forever before you can do it. just let me know! ;)

i have never been to the one in buford but i know it's newer. that's so funny about the "king" of skating rinks!

I was looking at food pics on the catergorized thread and came across one of yours...how was this??? Is it an entree or app and what is the exact name? And the cappucinos there....were they good? I want to go here in August (I've been craving escargot since our honeymoon) so that's the pic I'm in search of....back at it. LMK girlie! :thumbsup2

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/9-6%20Epcot%20WS-2/11.jpg

erica already answered this but it was REALLY good! it was nice and creamy and rich. and it had a good flavor to it - more than just macaroni and cheese! i carried half of it back to the room with me and it was a great snack after MNSSHP that night! :laughing: i just looked at the allearsnet.com menu and i'm pretty sure this is gratin de macaroni off the lunch menu, but they have it at dinner, too.

What fun!!!! We used to go skating ALL THE TIME growing up, I think I had a roller rink b-day party once. You guys did awesome. Love the how she kept saying "you might want to move out of my way" as she clung to the wall:lmao: You guys look like you have so much fun together. Thanks for sharing!!!
Lesley

i know i had a party when i was 9 and again when i was 12 at the skating rink. such fun!

I would have been laughing at that, if I had been there.
Honestly, I laughed at it right here at home. :rotfl:

It's only 6 a.m., but the picture of the pasta does look pretty good.
Might have to have some of that for supper. I'll probably have it on my mind today now that I've seen it.

it was really funny! erin cracks me up. she has a really dry sense of humor and i just "get" her. hope you had a good cheesy macaroni dinner that night!

Dawn - you guys look like you had a lot fun. Me and DH used to go roller skating with friends before we got married for awhile, we loved it. My DS7 went to a roller skating party awhile ago and he wants to go back with us :scared1: .

we did! you should take him - it's like riding a bike. you don't forget how to do it! you just have to get a feel for it again and it'll all come back to you.

This guy is hilarious :rotfl: I'm not sure what he was trying to do - dance? Cracks me up.

It looks like you had so much fun. I would love to go roller skating again, haven't in years! I think that they should turn one of the empty clubs on Pleasure Island into a roller rink.

he was REALLY good on the skates. he would go backwards and sideways and twirl and everything. so i'm sure he was doing some sort of snazzy move there. anna said when she took it he said, "i wanna be in the picture" as he went by. oh, that's such a good idea about turning a club at PI into a skating rink!!!! i'd TOTALLY go! we should write the powers that be and since it was your idea it should be called KELLY'S RINK OF DISNEY FUN! :rotfl:

Hi Dawn - trying to catch up now that I'm back.........

Great pix from the DHS parade. I have yet to see that one; Lauren doesn't like to take the time to stop for parades. I'm thinking when we're back in Dec. though, it will have to be on our must-do list - it's looks so colorful and interactive; I'm sure Amanda would get a kick out of it!

And we were lucky - the American Idol Experience had opened the day before we arrived. Lauren and I caught one of the shows - it's incredibly cool!:thumbsup2 Hopefully I"ll get my TR started soon and you can read about it and see my pix over there.

hi, cammie! thanks! i bet amanda would love it too. there's so much going on and so much to look at. the CMs are awesome, too. they come right up to the kids and try to get them involved. cool that you got to see AI at DHS. i can't wait to read about it!

Awww, I wish we lived closer and I would so meet you guys one day to skate!!!!!! Especially if they played any 80's music!!!:rotfl2:

that would be so fun! they played a little bit of '80's music but i was hoping for more. next time we go i will for sure let you know.

Well if I drive down then you can come to the other side of Atlanta to meet us to skate!! Would be lots of FUN! :upsidedow

we should totally do this some time! heather - i will let you know if we get together to do it and we can all go!!!

I just looked at your skating pics and you guys have me cracking up! :rotfl: Especially the one when are taking a brake the other girl looks so beat! I'm glad you had a good time! Two falls isn't to shabby either.:thumbsup2

thanks! yeah, it was loads of fun. two falls isn't bad but one of them was kinda hard and now my back and arm are hurting. i'm getting old! :laughing:

OOPS - didn't see that someone else already posted about "that guy"

that's what happened in my home town in tennessee. we had a skating rink and it caught on fire and they never did repair it or build another one, so we had to drive 30 minutes to the nearest one. as far as that guy goes, see what i said above to kelly (philadisney). he was really good on those skates but in that picture he's so cheesy! :laughing:

i used to love roller skate parties, you were cool if you had one, i used to be good, but i bet i would fall on my butt if i went now.

i think i had one when i was 9 and then again when i was 12. so fun! i fell on my butt but that's okay!

so glad you and your DS are reading together - that's so cute! i've been to both those restaurants and they're both good. for younger kids honestly i'd go to sci-fi. it's just a neat experience. now do keep in mind they play those sci-fi clips, but i don't think they're scary. luke was fine with them and he doesn't like scary things. the draw of '50's is the personality of the staff and the decor and i don't think a younger kid would appreciate those things. plus i've heard of people getting servers who aren't into the "act" and it's a let-down. we had a hilarious server there but i think i enjoy sci-fi more. just stick to the basic food and you'll be good!

i hear ya on the planning - we are going back in december 2010 and i already have a list of restaurants i wanna try next time. :rotfl:

so i figured i could do a short update tonight in between typing. :thumbsup2

when i last left you we had just enjoyed an awesome block party at DHS. the parade was over around 3:40 and we wanted to catch the 4:10 lights, motors, action show, so we headed straight over that way. i don't have a lot of interest in this show but i know that ray loves it and i knew that luke and chris would really love it. like i said before, luke is really into cars and speed right now, so this was right up his alley.

chris and ray stopped at herbie's drive through to get some snacks for all of us for the show and me, anna and luke went to get seats.

on the way to the seating area....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/01-9.jpg

luke is wearing chris's sunglasses in that picture. he really tickles me with sunglasses. i've never seen a kid who wears them as much as he does. :cool2:

walking into the arena, this is what you see....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/02-8.jpg

we got decents seats about halfway up on the righthand side.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/03-9.jpg

our view....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/04-9.jpg

as we're sitting there i had my jacket laid out next to me to save ray a seat. well, this man comes and sits almost right on top of it. i said to him (nicely), "i'm sorry, i'm saving this seat for my husband." he proceeds to snap at me, "do you have two husbands???" to which i reply, "actually, i do." :rotfl2: anyway, i scooted over towards him (where my jacket was), took my jacket and put it on the other side of me in order to save ray a seat. he wasn't very happy with me. did i care? nope. anna heard the exchange and offered to trade places with me but i wouldn't dream of it. just my presence was bothering him and i wasn't about to move. :rolleyes1

the arena on our side was almost full and they started directing people to the other side. i was like GREAT - now the boys will never find us! so i started to call ray to tell him. you can see my friend next to me. in the meantime luke and pluto were having a great time together! :upsidedow

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/05-9.jpg

ray said they didn't know what to do because they had to go to the other side. so i walked down to a CM at the bottom of our section and told him what was going on. he told me to tell ray to go to the very top of the bleachers and walk across the back. i met him and chris towards the top so they could find where we were sitting in the crowd. so if this ever happens to you, you'll know what to do!

while i was gone luke made a friend. :goodvibes

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/06-9.jpg

the boys returned with churros and ray had gotten me a frozen banana slushie - my favorite! i forgot to take a picture though.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/07-9.jpg

finally the show started! i won't post all my pics since they look like any other pictures from this show, but i will post a few.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/08-9.jpg

luke was REALLY excited, screaming at the hero car to go faster!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/09-9.jpg

herbie!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/10-9.jpg

i think herbie was before luke's time! :rotfl: (the original one anyway.)

during this scene the first time i saw this show i literally gasped out loud!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/13-9.jpg

he was very concerned about that little red car!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/14-9.jpg

the stunt dude....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/15-8.jpg

weeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/16-9.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/17-9.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/18-9.jpg

luke wasn't very fond of the explosions.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/18a-1.jpg

there he goes, into the fire once again.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/19-9.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/20-9.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/21-8.jpg

i wonder if he ever gets used to this?

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/22-8.jpg

the boys enjoying the show....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/23-8.jpg

i tried to get "the" shot where the fireworks go up but i was a split-second early.....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/24-8.jpg

i took this of luke right after the fireworks and explosions went up into the air....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/25-8.jpg

the boys LOVED the show, especially luke! i lost count of how many times he said, "whoa!" or "cool!!!!" :goodvibes

snapped this on the way out of the arena.....i love that they have it sitting there! in case you've never been on the backlot tour, this was walt's plane.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/26-7.jpg

that's all for tonight. sorry for the short update, but i wanted to get something posted while i had a few minutes.

up next.......some of us BOLT over to meet some new characters! ;)

I love Luke's face in all of these pictures. Makes me think my little guy might like it. We did it last in '06...he was just 8 months old then.

Your "friend" looks so happy! What a bunghole! Geez. Sounds like the old woman at the MVMCP parade. :rotfl2: There's plenty of room for all of us! (And a woman needs her slushy/churro)

I think I might be trying some of tha fancy mac n cheese! Looks good. I hope their escargot is good. Looks a little green in the pics I've seen.

I need to do an update but I am feeling so lazy. :rolleyes:

I guess we'll have to plan a longer day though. Don't they have the shows only in the afternoon? I love seeing Luke with Pluto - he is so cute, and the same age as by DGS!

LOVED Luke's faces in all of those pictures, he looked like he was super into the show, what a perfect show for boys and there aren't too many of those on property, I guess that's why my Luke loes Hollywood Studio's so much between that and Indiana Jones (wonder if you guys will make it to that show later?). That is so rude of that guy, I can't stand it when people do that, love your "actually I do" comment though:rotfl:

DS will let me read anything to him...as long as there are fun pictures! I've been paying close attention to all the details you throw in about Luke. Greyson will be the same age at the time we go so it is helpful in getting an idea about what to expect. Kids are all different,but it doesn't hurt to prepare for the possibilities! Thanks for the recommendation! I've been leaning towards sci-fi,but I flip flop depending on the day:lmao: We are bringing our parents with us( big thank you to them for all they do) so I am trying really hard to find all the fun,unique restaurants and just other magical ideas. DH and I want this to be a trip none of us ever forget!

You guys sat exactly where we did last trip! I like how you can feel the heat from the flames when the things explode. Do they have the LMA entrance/walkway covered yet? Last time, there were like a thousand people in line for 20-30 mins in the hot sun...and that was in October! Hot sun + cramped body heat = ugh. Older people shouldn't go to WDW if they're gonna be grumpy and pushy. Hello! It's the happiest place on earth! :headache:

Your 2 husband story is hilarious :laughing: I'm sure you were annoying that man just by sitting there and with your response to his rudeness and stupidity so I'm glad you stayed there. You can tell he's not a nice man just by looking at him lol

i think they have 2 shows but i'm not sure of the exact times. but i do know that they only show it twice a day. the thing about DHS is you pretty much have to pick what you DEFINITELY want to do and which time you want to do it and sort of fill in the gaps in between because there are so many shows!

It's so nice that you made a friend, Dawn! He looks so friendly! :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

i really shouldn't complain - i'm lucky to even have a job in this economy and the fact that i'm busy is unheard of right now in our industry. so i'm very lucky. i knew we had to see that show because if not i'd feel guilty that luke didn't get to see it! i knew he'd love it. i'll go ahead and tell you, we didn't make it by indiana jones that day. by the time we got out of LMA it was like 4:45. fantasmic was at 7:00 that night and so we didn't have much time before we had to head that way. it's impossible to get everything in at DHS in one day, especially when they close at 8:00!!!

Dawn your "friend" was something else, glad you said what you did - jerk that he is. I cannot wait for my boys to see this. I think they are going to love it.

yeah, he was such a joy. i bet your boys will LOVE this! it really is a cool show.

I've been leaning towards sci-fi,but I flip flop depending on the day:lmao: We are bringing our parents with us( big thank you to them for all they do) so I am trying really hard to find all the fun,unique restaurants and just other magical ideas. DH and I want this to be a trip none of us ever forget!

that's so cute! luke's 4th birthday was last june so he was exactly 4-and-a-half when we went. i bet you guys will have such a great trip! it sounds like you're on top of everything. i'm by no means an expert but i've been 5 times in the last 2 years and i've helped lots of people with their trips, so feel free to ask me anything!

:headache:

it seems like we were walking under a covering but i'm not positive. luckily we didn't have to stand in any sun that day. but even if we did, being that it was like 50 degrees, it probably would've felt nice! i hear you on being grumpy.....my mantra is FEEL THE MAGIC, DAMN YOU!

Luke's expressions are priceless! He just takes everything in. Sorry you are so busy at work. I guess it is better than having nothing to though huh? Great update. Love reading them!!!

oh, yes, definitely better! like i was telling lesley above, i'm very lucky to be as busy as i am right now! some court reporters around here are really slow right now and when we don't work, we don't get paid!

Love Luke's facial expressions during the show. He is definately a boy!!! So, I guess that when that guy would've asked me if I had two husbands, I would've said, "no, he's just a fat a**" JERK!!! I'm glad you stuck up for yourself! You go girl!!!

yes, he definitely IS!!! so funny about what you would've said to that guy! :rotfl: oh, there is no problem with me sticking up for myself. one thing i'm always trying to improve on is keeping my mouth shut. i need to choose my battles. but i'm getting better!

Looks like you girls had so much fun roller skating! It's been years since I've done that!

Great update! I think the Stunt show is a guys kinda attraction. It doesn't do too much for me either. At least you made a friend! haha!

we did! it was so much fun. i hope we do it again soon! yeah, i like the show but seeing it once is enough for me. but i knew that luke would really love it and i knew ray wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Haha, I love seeing Luke's take on things. I can hear him yelling now for the good guy!

That picture of Walt's plane with the sun peeking through is so pretty! :goodvibes

he's so cute! he was really yelling and getting into the show. i love that picture of the plane!

Another great update! The husband story was too funny! Something always happens when we try to see Disney shows, parades, fireworks... people always saunter up twenty-minute after us and try to squeeze their way in :rolleyes: The pictures of Luke are too cute, I love how amazed he looks! :goodvibes I'm definitely looking forward to more. Good luck getting all your work done!

thanks! i don't know what is with people. it just takes a lot of nerve and i will never have it. i just don't have the rudeness gene and i definitely don't have the tolerance for it!

Love the L!M!A! show pictures! I love seeing Luke's take on it all while he experiences it, he's so cute. How funny that he made a friend!

Your 2 husband story is hilarious :laughing: I'm sure you were annoying that man just by sitting there and with your response to his rudeness and stupidity so I'm glad you stayed there. You can tell he's not a nice man just by looking at him lol

Great shot of Walt's plane! I never knew that was there.

somehow i missed you! thanks. luke is such a cutie. i wonder what he and his little friend were talking about? i wasn't about to move away from that guy and give him the satisfaction of knowing he ticked me off. :laughing: yeah, walt's plane is hidden back there. when i remembered it being there i told anna and we had stop and take a picture, to which both of our husbands rolled their eyes at us....again. :rotfl:

Great pictures!
Makes me feel like we were just there.

Oh yeah, we were just there.

I like it when you can get a good 'falling man' picture. I got a pretty good one this time, and it's just so funny to see the man suspended in mid-air for eternity when you look back at the pictures.

Luke's expressions are just testimony to why I love take my bunch to Disney World. I love watching them just having fun!

We have eye-rollers in our crew, too.
But you know what, they wouldn't have us any other way.
If they couldn't make fun of us, it wouldn't be nearly as much fun for them.

I love what you said to that rude old guy. :rotfl2: I definitely would not have come up with that response so quickly -- it would be one of those things that I'd think about hours later and be mad for not thinking of right then. Your pictures from the show are awesome. I tried to get the falling man but I just missed him.

Sorry you are so swamped with work -- I hope it gets better soon.

Luke is too adorable. ;)

Never had a banana slush or a churrio, they sound great. :)

What a rude man, some guests really need to learn how to behave. He obviously didn't get his daily dose of WDW pixie dust that day. :confused3 What a grump!

Glad to hear you are busy.....it's a good thing remember. :thumbsup2

Just got to sit with Brooklynn and read your skating update and your LMA report. She has a question and a comment.

When she saw the LMA pics she said she will live there in 20 months at 8:30 o'clock.

When she saw the pictures of you giving the rose to Anna she asked "Why is Dawn eatin that flower? She is a silly girl!"

Just thought I would give you the perspective from a toddler.

So, from a girl's point of view, how is LMA? We've never seen it and I'm always thinking we should see every show at Disney at least once. But my girls are girly-girls; race cars, explosions, and fire are not their idea of a good time. Is it worth checking out?

cool, huh? ray thinks i'm a nerd.

if only i was REALLY sitting in italy (that is, the italy pavilion at epcot, of course! although i would definitely not pass up the real thing!!!), drinking this and watching illuminations right now!

what's funny is that i'm eating the other half of the hamburger i had earlier today. rose regale and a hamburger......now that's some serious class. :snooty: :rotfl2:

i'm getting ready to upload some vids so hopefully i will have an update tomorrow!

Great pictures!

it is so much fun to watch others' expressions at disney world - i just love sharing it with everyone! i agree about the eye-rollers. if ray didn't have to roll his eyes at me then he wouldn't love me as much. :laughing:

Luke is a doll. :cutie: And I must say, you photograph very well. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see how Flat Dawn does. ;)

wow....thanks! i'll take that compliment and stick it in my back pocket. my mama always told me never to turn down a compliment. i can't wait to see flat dawn, too. although i have been practicing squishing the real dawn into a suitcase and having said suitcase ready for you to pick up during your layover in atlanta on your way to disney in may.

I'm finally caught up again :goodvibes Your skating pictures were awesome!

thanks! well, unfortunately for those around me, i always tend to just say what's on my mind. i'm learning as i get older that that's not such a good thing sometimes!

Luke is too adorable. ;)

yes, banana slushies and churros are so good! now i will admit that the mexican restaurant near my house has better churros than disney does. but it's bound to happen sometimes - they can't be the best at everything! i hope i made that guy's day better by providing him with some pixie dust.....or maybe a little sarcasm instead. :laughing:

Luke is a a riot! Every update he's always doing something to make us laugh. Haha, it's great.

Looks like LMA was a a hit! Sorry that grumpy old man had to say something, but luckily you didn't let it get to you!

they are at herbie's drive-in - it's a little kiosk right outside of LMA. luke is definitely a comedian. he has anna's personality - she's always being silly too!

Such a cool dude!:cool2: My goodness - he's seriously too cute!

So, from a girl's point of view, how is LMA? We've never seen it and I'm always thinking we should see every show at Disney at least once. But my girls are girly-girls; race cars, explosions, and fire are not their idea of a good time. Is it worth checking out?

he is a SUPER cool dude! we went over to their house earlier today to get some baby stuff for my little brother (his girlfriend is having a baby that's due any day now) that anna is giving to him and luke said, "ray's a dork," as ray walked by. :rotfl2: honestly, LMA is a really cool show but it's nothing i HAVE to see. if you have time one day while you're there, do it. but if there's something else you'd rather be doing, don't. like you said, it's nice to be able to see everything at disney at least once and i'm sure it won't be there forever. the stunt driving is amazing and there's some really cool tricks they do that make you literally gasp out loud.

I'm joining in - I'm about half way through the first day!

thanks so much for reading!!!

Fantastic photos of Luke, I've never thought of taking photos of the kids when they watch stuff, they're seriously cute :goodvibes

oh, that's my favorite! i don't even have any kids and i love watching them take everything in, especially something they're interested in. my favorite thing to do in the haunted mansion is to pick a younger kid (like 3 or 4 years old) in the stretching room and just watch their face. they're so funny!

well, i was gonna do an update tonight but i'm not done uploading video because i had a huge distraction today.....

SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and lots of it! we haven't gotten a good snow like this since i've been here (almost 12 years) so this is really exciting. it's going to freeze tonight so i really hope i don't have to work tomorrow. i'm still waiting to hear about that.

anyway, i'm uploading pictures and video of our snow to share with you. those of you up north may not care to see more of the white stuff but we never get it here so it's really a big thing! if i'm not working tomorrow i'm going sledding with our neighbors!

be back later with those pics and video!

:-P

I can't think of the last time we had a snow like you guys are seeing now. I was prob in elem. school :sad1: And this again was so disappointing b/c it was ALL around us!

I gotta know...how much is a lot?

KristinAnne - I'll answer for Nashville....when we get a few of inches now that's a LOT. I honestly can't think of the last time we saw a 6-10 inch snow and had a good sledding day. It seems to never happen here now. I remember having some when I was in elem. school, but beyond that I can't think of a good one. We've had some ice storms, but those are never the same.

And even Dawn was a little different living north of Nashville, she saw more snow than I did being further north. I grew up on the south side of Nashville and now live just east.

I understand if you see it all the time you could care less when it comes again :laughing:. Next time you can just send it to Nashville :upsidedow

I have a bottle at home too and Rose Regale always taste better in epcot for some reason!! :goodvibes

really? i've never had it epcot but will definitely be getting a glass next time. i liked it although it was kinda sweet for me. i only drank 2 glasses. i may have some more tonight though!

Whenever i think of Epcot and the Italian Pavilion i think Rose Regale. Yum!:woohoo:

so good!

:thumbsup2 Love the glow cube. How do you keep it glowing for so long after the trip?

thanks! it operates on a watch battery so you can replace those. we haven't had to yet though.

What do your dogs think about all the snow?

they were playing in it earlier. you will see - the first thing they did was take a poop! :rotfl2: but then they started running around in it. it was cute!

I gotta know...how much is a lot? We're waiting on 14ish inches here. It's been a *rough* winter up here, and that is putting it mildly! I can definitely tell you I don't have work tomorrow!

about 7 inches. we NEVER get that here! it never snows - it always ices!!!

I can't think of the last time we had a snow like you guys are seeing now. I was prob in elem. school :sad1: And this again was so disappointing b/c it was ALL around us!

but you have to admit that you've gotten SOME snow in the last few years. we've gotten NONE. zilch. this is the first time it's really SNOWED since like 2002, i think. and then it wasn't nearly this much.

so, on to the pictures of the white stuff!

first off, i walked into the living room this morning to find eli here.....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/DSC00361.jpg

:rotfl2: he cracks me up! and you can kinda see pluto in there. maybe they were napping together.

the snow started around 2:00 or so today and it was coming down pretty steadily. i didn't think it would stick but i was wrong! here's some video i took not too long after it started. you hear me laughing about our flood lights being on - ray can't figure out what's wrong with them. they always come on during the day! :laughing:

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/th_MOV00366.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/?action=view&current=MOV00366.flv)

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/th_MOV00368.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/?action=view&current=MOV00368.flv)

in this one you can see the pools of dirty water in our back yard. it has rained for 2 days straight and then with all that snow on top it was so nasty! and now it's all frozen solid.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/th_MOV00369.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/?action=view&current=MOV00369.flv)

we decided to take the boys outside around 3:30. eli had never seen snow before and he's such a big chicken that i was worried he would be scared of it. but he loved it!

here's some videos of our first few seconds in the snow with them. ray sliding down the driveway was so funny!

I actually love reading about the excitement of the snow. We just take it for granted around here, so it's fun to see people who never get it actually enjoy it. We'd definitely send it to Nashville for you at this point, Erica! 7 inches is a decent amount though! Most of our storms this year have been around the same. They've just been one after the other after the other after the other. The one that's on its way is the biggest all year. I did enjoy seeing the grass for the 24 hours we had it though. :rotfl: I loved seeing your flower that was coming outside though. My puppy loovvves the snow too. It's so cute! Now, what's snow cream? I think I should have something fun to make tomorrow! I hope you get to go sledding again!

Those were the cutest videos ever, your dogs are adorable!!! It's so weird to see snow in Georgia, I always think of anything south of Virginia being sunny and hot all the time :laughing: Your neighborhood looks so gorgeous and peaceful with all the snow! I love that... there's a great quote about how peaceful it is right after a big snow storm in NY at the end of one of the last Sex and the City episodes. I wish I could find it... but after a few hours of snow here the plows come through, cars go by, and it's a big dirty mess! There's a huge storm passing through now (:woohoo: to no school for me and work for you!) and I'm getting so sick of it! It's snowed here more this year than I can ever remember. Just last week it was 65-degrees and I was in full-on summer mode! :laughing:

It changed here very quckly. In the early morning when I got up to get ready for church, there was snow and wind and gray skies. By 11:00, the sun was bright and the snow was gone - like a completely different day. It stayed pretty windy all day, though.

All the pictures and video are great! I especially like where Sherman and Eli are looking out the window as you're filming. That's so sweet. They're trying to figure out what in the world is going on! I started to take our cat out in it yesterday, but he's such a weenie; I knew he'd meow and run straight back into the house, so I didn't put him through the anguish just for the fun of laughing at him. :)

Enjoy your day at home. Snow days are fabulous!!! You get lots of extra fun time, and anything you do that's productive is just a bonus!

Hi Dawn! We had a snow day today so I had some time to get on the DISboards and found your trip report. I'm really enjoying it :goodvibes

I have to say how funny all the comments about the snow are. I am from New Jersey and if I never saw snow again it would be just fine with me! It's so interesting to see all the people from the south who want to see the snow and all the people from the north who have had enough. I'll send some down south for anyone who wants some! I have to say we didn't get as much as they were predicting, maybe about 5-6 inches, but it was still too much for me!

Thanks again for sharing your trip -- I'm looking forward to following along with the rest. And Luke is so cute! Looks like he really had a good time!

I have to say, I never heard of snow cream, looked it up, and we made some today. It was a hit! I mentioned it to some of my friends, and we are now the coolest moms! (I'm sure that's a temporary title!!)
Thanks for the idea!

so i have to explain to you guys who made comments about not wanting the snow why we enjoy it so much. i have been in georgia since 1997. it has only really snowed TWICE since then. and neither time was as good as this time. the last time it snowed here at all was in 2004 and that was just a light dusting. as a kid growing up in tennessee, we usually got a good snow like this once or twice a year. so when you get it sparingly like that, it really is a FUN thing. now i can understand that when you get it for 3 months straight that you'd be sick of it. i would too! but this is something that doesn't happen to us even once a year so we really enjoy it! saying that, i had fun today and now i'm ready for SPRING!!! :flower3:

by the way, we didn't go back out today after we came in around 1:00. we didn't see anybody else heading up there and we were both sore from walking up the hill so many times. we're old!!!! :rotfl2:

i will have the pics and video up once anna sends me her pictures.

I love seeing how excited you are over the snow! It's really cute.
I wonder what your dogs were thinking about it.......

i always wonder what they're thinking! :laughing:

Great snow pictures! That must be fun when you don't get it often :)

thanks! it is. :)

That is so pretty!! I'm still jealous :guilty:, but I will just hold out until we get a snow like that again. It will happen....who knows when it will happen but it will.........:rolleyes:

Matt said to get up at about 3am get out there sledding!! You'll have plenty of time to do it then. I don't see all of that melting to fast. You'll have to get out there semi early but you'll get enough of it I'm sure :upsidedow

Have fun...I'm glad you don't have to worry about work tomorrow :goodvibes

When you are a southerner you turn in to a true kid, like a 5 year old kid :mickeyjum at Disney when you even really just see a snowflake. When you get a snow like this.....it's the greatest thing ever ::yes::

i'm sure you guys will get some this year! you always get at least one good snow (usually anyway).

we got up there around 10:00 today and had 3 good hours of sledding. it was lots of fun!

ditto about being a southerner! i like that we actually enjoy the snow since we don't get enough to get sick of it. :laughing:

I actually love reading about the excitement of the snow. We just take it for granted around here, so it's fun to see people who never get it actually enjoy it. We'd definitely send it to Nashville for you at this point, Erica! 7 inches is a decent amount though! Most of our storms this year have been around the same. Now, what's snow cream? I think I should have something fun to make tomorrow! I hope you get to go sledding again!

i'm sure you guys are sick of it. snow cream is snow mixed with sugar, milk and vanilla extract. you just sort of mix it together until it is the right consistency and tastes the way you want. my grandmother made it with us as kids so i always make it when we get enough snow, which isn't very often!

THANKS!!!! We will happily take it :goodvibes ....you guys prob won't believe it but my husband is even worse than me :laughing:

I forgot to ask about the snowcream too. How did it turn out??

it was good! i made three tupperware containers full and they're all in the freezer right now.

I just looked up snow cream. I am making it with the girls tomorrow if we have a snowday here in NY. Sounds fun!! Hope you're enjoying the snow.

hope your snow cream turns out! let me know how it is.

I am so, so, so jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!;)

i'm sorry! :guilty: you guys are welcome to drive up here! of course it will probably all be gone by tomorrow afternoon.

WOW! You really have some snow.... glad it is you not me!

So glad you were able to have enough snow to make snow cream, I remember our last snow day you commented on my pics saying you probably would never have enough snow where you lived to make some, so glad you could:thumbsup2 How was it. The videos of Sherman and Eli were halarious, especially Ray sliding down the drive and you laughing at him:rotfl: I was laughing out loud along with you. Horray for a day off work for you too!!!:woohoo: Enjoy it!

thanks! yeah, i was happy about the snow cream for sure! makes me feel like a kid again. sorta like disney. :laughing: glad you laughed at ray - i know i did! :rotfl2:

OMG Dawn....this post had me LOL. The neighbors dog with the snowballs...:lmao: (poor thing) Your boys being hesitate of the snow is the cutest thing. Next thing you know they're poopin' and playin' in it. :rotfl: WOW! I LOVE the pics and video. You are so lucky to get all that! They are calling for snow here today. Nothing like that though. That is a beautiful snowfall! I am so ready for shorts and tank tops! :goodvibes

i know! that poor little dog!!! so did you guys get any snow? i'm ready for spring now too. well, actually i was ready about a month ago!!!

Wow, the snow is beautiful. I haven't seen that much snow down our way this year. I would love a big snow like that.

it was so much fun!

I am sick of the snow (especially since my company has not, in its 25 years, ever closed or had a delay for inclement weather - I'm sitting here at my desk right now :headache: ), but I have to admit your neighborhood looks so pretty covered in all that white stuff! And your dogs are just adorable.
I am off to look up 'snow cream' now too! :surfweb:

i know you guys are sick of it! it's fun for us though as we NEVER see it like this here.

Haha, you crack me up. Being excited about snow? Girl, you can have all of it you want! I don't want it anymore! :laughing:

read above (previous page) about my explanation for why it is so fun for us! you can sort of compare it to people who live close to disney and don't see what the big deal is. you guys get plenty of snow so you don't understand the excitement is for us but it's just because we don't get this very often!

Your pics and videos of the snow are so cute! Isn't the snow great-but only once a year or so;) . We got a few inches too, now it's all melting :sad1: . Now off to make snow cream!

thanks! ours has melted off the sidewalks and streets but the grass is still covered. it'll be a mess in a few days!

I am glad you got your snow. We got snow in Mississippi too. My husband and kids were excited about it, but snow is too cold for me. I do like to see it through the window though. Your pictures were great. I hope you enjoy your snow day.

thanks! we had a really great time.

As a good Canadian Girl...I have NEVER heard of snow cream...how is that even possible?? We may have to give it a try if we get another snow!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the photo of Eli sleeping on the couch. Our Scarlett does that all the time. I guess the snow was just too much for him!

it's so good! just snow, sugar, milk and vanilla extract. i love it!

Yayyy :banana: for a snow day for both of us! Only difference is we got like 13 inches here lol I cannot believe that it snowed THAT much in Georgia though! I thought winter was like 50 degrees usually for you guys there! It made me sad to see the flowers poking through the snow :guilty:

Loved all the videos, Sherman and Eli are soo cute and soo funny! And I love your southern accent, its adorable :cutie: That video of Ray sliding down the driveway is hilarious I was really laughing out loud with that one :lmao:

Enjoy your day off! :goodvibes

in the winter it's usually between 40 - 55 degrees here. but it does get colder than that a good bit. thanks about my southern accent. i think i sound like a chipmunk from the south! :laughing:

We looooove snow cream!!! :cool1: And sled riding too. have fun tonight. We have had enough snow here last month. I hope we don't get anymore. I am ready for spring. The warmer it gets the closer it gets to my DISNEY VACATION!!!

isn't snow cream so good? i'm ready for spring now too!

I love your pictures and videos of the snow! It's such a nice change to see someone excited over it -- everyone here is like :headache: and cursing it.

I never heard of snow cream, either, but I Googled it and have decided that I need to make some!

Sherman and Eli are so cute. I love how they were iffy about it at first, and then running around playing in it. So so cute!

I can't wait to see your sledding pictures -- I haven't been in so long because there aren't any good and safe hills close to us anymore. I'm so glad that you are enjoying the snow!

thanks! i'd be that way too if i lived up there. it's just that we don't get it often at all, so it's exciting when we do. i will have the sledding pictures up when i get anna's from her because she got some good ones too.

At last someone who gets as excited about snow as I do :rotfl: it looks like all 4 of you had so much fun, enjoy your sledging later :)

i'm glad you like the snow too! :goodvibes we had a blast sledding. i will post pics later.

Eli sleeping with his head under the blanket is hilarious! When you say Shermie it sounds like you're saying Jeremy. :laughing:

Ray looks mischievous here, like he's about to bean you with a snowball. :rotfl:

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3640/3322554289_1eedbc7b13.jpg

Skittum!

i always call him either shermie or shermikins. it's never just sherman! ray was about to throw a snowball at me but i caught him before he did it. :laughing:

It's so cute to see you so excited about the snow! :goodvibes We've had so much in MI this year, that I'm very much over it! Hope you had a wonderful time sledding......your pics and video were so much fun! I found myself laughing out loud a couple of times! Can't wait to hear about your sledding adventures from today...

thanks! we had such a good time. it's a good thing when you don't get it very often because you can get excited over it when you do! :goodvibes i will have the sledding pics/video up later.

Loved the pix Dawn!! Sorry I don't shae the excitement about SNOW!! We see way too much of it !!!:rotfl2:

see above (on previous page) why we get so excited about it! ;)

Looks like he really had a good time!

thanks so much for reading!!! we NEVER get snow so when we do it's a fun thing. i'm sure i'd be sick of it too if i lived up north.

Glad you had a fun time sledding. I hope it was a good time tonight too!

thanks! we had a blast.

Dawn,
Sounds like you had a lot of fun in the snow!!
I have to say, I never heard of snow cream, looked it up, and we made some today. It was a hit! I mentioned it to some of my friends, and we are now the coolest moms! (I'm sure that's a temporary title!!)
Thanks for the idea!
Jackie

we did! so glad you guys made snow cream and it was a hit. that's one of the best memories i have of being a kid!!!

Loved the snow update. We got about the same as you did here in NC today. It was so beautiful and so much fun!! I just can't believe how many people on here have never heard of snow cream!:lmao: That's so funny to me. Stuff like that is what I love about being a Southerner. We have such cool traditions down here, especially pertaining to food! popcorn::

Here's what it looked like out of my front door when I got up this morning. We couldn't wait to get out in it!!

you always get at least one good snow (usually anyway).

Not 'usually' the last time we had any measureable snow it was about 6 years ago and that was really just davidson county. Now your mom and grandparents get it on a more normal basis up where they are....but it's SO screwy how the weather, rain and everything works around Nashville :guilty:

We do still have a chance though. But it's supposed to be in the 70's this weekend and it could be snowing the next :rotfl:

WOW!!!! You guys looked like you had sooo much fun!! Eli and Sherman are cuties!! I was watching the news this morning and good ole Georgia was on there...I immediately thought of you. Then they continued on to our weather for today which was a lovely, sunny, 90 degrees. :confused3 Its so weird how different it is from state to state. I can't wait to see more videos. I hope you enjoyed your day off.

It's amazing how much snow you got! It's fun to see you enjoying it so much. Your fur babies were so cute, running and playing in it. It is such a rare thing for the south, I'm sure sledding was so much fun.

I've never heard of snow cream, sounds like your Gramma had a secret recipe. ;)

When I was a kid my Dad would make snow cones with snow + grenadine or peppermint. Thanks for reminding me of those fond memories. :)

I find the snow has a different taste now, not as pure as I remember it. I havn't eaten it in years. :upsidedow

Oldest DD17 is home from school today and watched your videos and we both were laughing at the dogs. We totally LOL'd at pics of the doggies taking a poo poo!!! :rotfl2: I even laughed later on thinking about it. That's how it goes, for me anyway, just when I look over at a cute dog in a yard or walking, he starts taking a poo!
I'm glad you guys enjoyed your snow. I can appreciate not having it, and then getting it. It'd be like Christmas!

a lot of people have asked about this so here ya go!

snow cream = snow + sugar + milk + vanilla extract. you just mix it together until it's slushy and tastes good and then freeze it. at least that's how my grandma did it. i love it!

Loved the snow update. We got about the same as you did here in NC today. It was so beautiful and so much fun!! i guess the weather patterns are changing. i remember MANY nights driving home from work from nashville or the rivergate area and it would be snowing like crazy. one night i remember calling my mom from in front of vol state because i couldn't see the road and i was freaking out! :laughing: i think we had a white christmas up there in 2004, right? i just remember it started snowing when we got there and i looked at the temperature thing at the bank somewhere in gallatin and it said 6. 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1: hope you guys get some soon!

I always get jealous of them this episode for being at WDW! :upsidedow

I remember being young and my mom wouldn't make snow cream b/c 'the snow was dirty' but my Memaw always did for me!! :goodvibes

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
last i left you we had just enjoyed a testosterone-filled show at LMA. by the time the show was over, it was around 4:45. we decided to head towards the animation courtyard because i knew that bolt and friends were there and anna said luke wanted to meet them. some pictures i took along the way.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/01-10.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/02-9.jpg
i love this attraction but we just didn't have time that day for it. it's something i like to take my time with.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/03-10.jpg
luke wanted a blue slushie like "gray" (that's what he calls ray) and as you can see, he got a little chilly while drinking it!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/04-10.jpg
we headed back to get in line for the animation academy and the line was pretty long. i snapped this while we were back there. the fox and the hound holds a special place in my heart because after ray saw it for the first time, he had to get a HOUNNNNNNNNNNND dog! :goodvibes
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/05-10.jpg
ray and i decided not to wait. it was already after 5:00 by that time. fantasmic started at 7:00 that night and we wanted to ride RnRC. i would've liked to meet bolt, but it wasn't a priority for me. so we parted ways with anna, etc. while ray and i headed in our direction (which i will tell you about later), anna, chris and luke stayed in line for the animation academy. i thought this was a cute picture!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/06-10.jpg
anna said luke was really excited about meeting bolt and his friends (i'm not sure of their names).
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/07-10.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/08-10.jpg
see how the kitty is playing with luke's hair in these pics?
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/09-10.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/10-10.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/11-10.jpg
anna said after they walked off he looked at her and said, "mama, why was that cat playing with my hair????" :rotfl:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/12-10.jpg
i don't know what luke was doing here but he looks like he's jumping up and down! :yay:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/13-10.jpg
after their meet with bolt and friends, they did the little quizzes or whatever and anna got this one.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/14-10.jpg
chris and luke playing....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/15-9.jpg
they didn't do the drawing class (because you will see later that i was texting chris LIKE A MAD WOMAN to hurry up! :laughing: ). i thought this was a cute picture taken as they were leaving that area.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/16-10.jpg
meanwhile.......
ray and i headed towards RnRC to use the fastpasses he had gotten earlier. well, we get over there and head towards the fastpass line and it's LONG....as in PAST THE TURNSTILES LONG!!!!!! :scared1: um.....what????? as we were standing there in shock a CM came over the speakers and made an announcement that the posted wait time was wrong and that it would be at least 30 minutes longer of a wait. okay.....that's not a good sign! i like this ride but i don't like it that much. and neither does ray. so we nixed the idea of waiting who knows how long to use our fastpasses. i don't know what the problem was. :confused3
so instead.....WE WENT SHOPPING!!! :dance3:
first we headed towards my favorite store at DHS, villians en vogue.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/DSC00344.jpg
we went into a couple of stores across the street, too. i LOVED this shirt but they only had it in little girls' sizes.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/19-10.jpg
and i thought this bag was so cute.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/20-10.jpg
i thought these would be so cute in a kids' bathroom!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/21-9.jpg
we came out and watched some streetmosphere for awhile, but i didn't get any good pics because my camera was acting weird for some odd reason. thank goodness it went back to normal!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/22-9.jpg
we thought about heading over to ToT to see what the wait was but as we walked by the entrance to fantasmic there were already HORDES of people heading up there. it was only 6:00 but i didn't want to take a chance of not seeing fantasmic. ray LOVES fantasmic and i knew we wouldn't be back for awhile. so we headed that way.
we got a seat about 10 rows from the top. it was getting colder as the sun went down so i didn't want to get a drop of water on me. PLUS i wanted to get out of there fast because we HAD two things to do after fantasmic: TSM and the osborne lights! we saved enough space for anna, chris and luke to join us and settled in for the wait.
my favorite ride looming above......
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/23-9.jpg
do you remember the moon from last night at epcot? well, it was even BRIGHTER and PRETTIER on this night! we found out later that this was the biggest, brightest moon of the year. in fact, it was the closest the earth has been to the moon in 15 years! it was so pretty. the picture doesn't do it justice.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/24-9.jpg
i had texted chris to let him know what the situation with RnRC was and that we were saving seats for fantasmic. well, around 6:30 the theater started getting REALLY full! when i saw the brazilian tour group coming in i sort of freaked a little bit. :laughing: i knew anna wanted everyone to see this show (she had seen our video of it) and i didn't want them to miss it. this was the crowd at 6:35. :eek:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/25-9.jpg
finally around 6:45 chris texted me back and said they were using the bathroom at the hollywood brown derby and would be there soon. i told him to HURRY!!!!!
ray occupied himself by doing the wave while we were waiting. the brazilians were SO enthusiastic about it - it was really funny!!! :upsidedow
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/27-6.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/26-8.jpg
i was so happy to see anna, chris and luke walk in just before the show started. i was worried they wouldn't let them in but they did. she said the line to get in the animation show and for bolt just took longer than they thought it would.
on to the show! i really want to get better pictures of this show someday. my little camera doesn't do it justice. i can never get the shots i want, but here's some of what i got. some of these are anna's, too.
now many of you have asked me how i think your kids would do with this show. so i'm posting 90% of it here for you. it's not the whole thing but it's close!
ray knows the moves to this part and does them when he watches it at home. :love:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/th_MOV00345.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/?action=view&current=MOV00345.flv)
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/th_MOV00346.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/?action=view&current=MOV00346.flv)
i wanna be a monkey during this part! luke was excited to see rafiki. he was the first character luke ever met at disney world when they came in spring 2007.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/th_MOV00347.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/?action=view&current=MOV00347.flv)
you can hear ray say, "well, i'll be!" here when jiminy crickett comes up in a bubble. i was like, "um...hun, that's wishes." :lmao: oh, and for some reason the indians only had one boat lit up. there's always at least one out for some reason!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/th_MOV00349.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/?action=view&current=MOV00349.flv)
pocahontas is anna's favorite so she was excited to see her!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/th_MOV00350.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/?action=view&current=MOV00350.flv)
listen for ray singing here. ISN'T THAT THE CUTEST THING EVER???? :lovestruc and then he and anna start singing together during snow white's, "some day my prince will come". it was so funny! one of those moments from the trip that i really remember vividly. :goodvibes
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/th_MOV00351.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/?action=view&current=MOV00351.flv)
time for some evil queen-i-ness!!!! my favorite villian is maleficent but if i had to play any role in this show it would be the snow queen. she's so awesome in this part.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/th_MOV00353.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/?action=view&current=MOV00353.flv)
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/th_MOV00354.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/?action=view&current=MOV00354.flv)
time for my favorite villian, maleficent! she's just so crazy, i love her!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/th_MOV00356.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/?action=view&current=MOV00356.flv)
and now the DRAGON. even though maleficent's my girl, i love how mickey comes out and saves the day. and i love the message of the show for the kids - that a vivid imagination is a great thing, but that you can control it when it sometimes gets out of hand!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/th_MOV00357.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/?action=view&current=MOV00357.flv)
tink!!!!! i always love this part.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/th_MOV00358.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/?action=view&current=MOV00358.flv)
how cool would it be to be on this boat one night????
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/th_MOV00359.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/?action=view&current=MOV00359.flv)
my favorite part! i just love mickey on the mountain top throwin it down and how the "good" side of his imagination wins in the end. please excuse the notification of adam and buffy being online - i was playing the DVD on ray's xbox! :laughing:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/th_MOV00360.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/?action=view&current=MOV00360.flv)
so to answer those questions about the kiddos, luke is 4 years old and he's generally not into the scary stuff and he did fine. i think he sat in chris's lap the whole time but he was okay. so i think it depends on the kid but hopefully these videos will give you a better idea. :thumbsup2
comin' up next: MY FAVORITE PART OF THE HOLIDAYS AT DISNEY WORLD.....over 4 million christmas lights!!!!!! :rainbow:
just finished the rest of the report. Last time I went roller skating...I was in 6th grade. I fell down and fell right in the walkway to get in. They told me to move...I said I would if I could. Here I sprained my wrist. Last time I went skating...not going to do that again and actually break something. That and I am not that coordinated...so that could have been part of the problem.
Yayyy, Fantasmic!!! We love Fantasmic too! Although I find it a bit scary! It would have terrified me if I was little, I think. We saw it in 2006 too, but I don't remember it being so scary!
Those Bolt characters kind of freak me out a bit too! Something about them looks a bit creepy. Like that big evil bunny in Donnie Darko, or something. Hehee, that's horrible. They're not that bad, but you know what I mean!! (I hope!)
Why in the world did my mother-in-law go to Disney and not tell me!!!!:rotfl2:
:lmao: you are crazy!
I love the Fox and the Hound!!!!! That was my very first Disney movie I saw in a theater!!!!! :lovestruc
i love that movie too. i cry every time i see it. the story of ray seeing it for the first time is cute. we were dating. i was 18 and he was 22. we both worked as servers in a restaurant in downtown nashville. on weekends we'd work late on saturdays and then have to be there early on sundays for sunday brunch service. well, gallatin, the little town we both lived in, was like 40 minutes from downtown. my dad lived like 15 minutes away, so we'd stay with him on saturday nights so we wouldn't have to drive so far. ray would sleep in my room and i'd sleep with my sister. ray has occasional insomnia and one night he couldn't sleep. so he went into my dad's wreck room (which is where we kept all the kiddie movies) and the only thing he could find to watch were my little sister and brother's disney movies (they were 8 and 11 at the time). so he watched "the fox and the hound" because he'd never seen it. the next morning he went and bought a sunday paper and was looking at the classifieds. i asked him why and he said, "because i gotta get me a HOUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND dog!" :goodvibes we went that day after work and bought our first beagle hound for $40. we named her lucy and ray's mom still has her to this day!
I love the shirt you bought.:lovestruc Purple is my color. I would have put the picture here but I haven't quite figured out how to do that yet. I am an annoying new Diser.:sad2: And HOLY COW I can't believe how many people can fit in there to watch the show!!! Is it like a round arena or something?
thanks! to post a picture you just have to get an account on a photo-hosting website. i use photobucket.com. you upload the picture there and then they will give you three codes. for the disboards, you use the one at the bottom that starts with [IMG]. copy and paste that code here and your picture will show up!
the arena is sort of a half circle. it can hold LOTS of people!!! there is water in front of the seats and then the stage is on the opposite side.
Maybe they had problems with RNR and had it stopped, causing the fp lane to back up?:confused3
I love Fantasmic! I was really bummed that it was only on 2 times when we were there....it made it hard to schedule in!
maybe. i love that ride but i don't love it that much - neither of us wanted to wait. it stinks that they no longer show fantasmic every night. i guess the economy is hitting disney too!
i don't think your 16-month-old would even really "get" that it's scary. of course i don't know him and every kid's different. the 3yo might be a different story - just depends. be sure to check the schedule because they no longer show it every night like they used to.
Loved the videos of the dogs in the snow and the one of Ray sliding down the driveway.
I walk to wheaton terriers and they get those snow balls all the time. As long as you let them melt off they are fine.
Thank you for telling us what snow cream is, I have never heard of.
Now the Disney part.
Great update, as usual.
Luke does look like he is enjoying the Bolt characters. I'm not sure that Brooklynn knows much about them yet. At least, I haven't heard her say their names. Give her time, though, and she'll know all about them.
We love Fantasmic! I was thinking that my friend and I would not see it when we go, because HS is our first day, and I know we'll be zonked from a 6:30 flight. Well, she will be, I'm sure. I'd be up for staying for Fantasmic, of course, but I also want her to be able to get up and moving early the next morning, so it may not happen. We'll just have to make that call when the time comes. I may stay and watch it so I can film some for Jill and Brooklynn, even if Kay decides she needs to go on back to the room. That's the beauty of using the Disney bus system! She can go and I can stay and everyone is happy.
I confess to getting chills and a big old smile, too, when good overcomes evil! When the boat comes out and everyone is happily waving, I feel about five instead of fifty.
That's a neat Fox and the Hound picture. Love that movie, too! (Let's be honest, I love them all.) It's cute that Ray was cultivating his Disney love all that long ago. :)
Great update! That RnRC line sounds scary! :eek: I wouldn't wait either! I can't believe your friend from Lights Stunt didn't show up while you were holding the seats for at Fantasmic! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Dawn I got this email from Mickey News, FYI
"Fantasmic, which is one of Disney World's premier nighttime shows, will also be cut down dramatically. Starting this summer, the show will only be performed twice a week. For those families who are only planning one day in each Disney park, they may want to hit Disney Hollywood Studios on Mondays and Thursdays, the days when the show will mainly be running. However, if the show is not a concern, then visiting on other days may lead to smaller crowds. It seems curious that Disney would make such a drastic cut during the middle of the summer busy season, but it must make some sense from a business perspective. "
I hope they don't get rid of it before our trip. I want my kids to see it. I saw it once back in 2001, so I am praying that the kids get to see it. DS9 was only 2 when he saw and fell asleep during it.
All caught up on the new update.
Luke looks so comfy and content all bundled up with his own blue slush. ;)
I was looking at the Bolt characters with Lexi this morning and she named them, do you think I can remember them now. :confused:
She got a Bolt plush at the Disney Store awhile back but was dissapointed they were sold out of the other characters. She can't wait to get the movie when it comes out at the end of the month. paw: paw: paw:
Your new "Evil" tee is cute. What a great color. I think of you whenever I see a pic of her. (not too many people have her as a favorite) That doesn't sound right, I wasn't saying you are evil, you are too sweet. :laughing:
Fantasmic is the best!
I see that Ray is getting his money's worth wearing the Goofy hoodie. :goofy: It's fun to see him so excitted.
I told my family that Fantasmic is only on certain night now, they all GASPED, "oh no we have to see it". I'm sure during our 10 days there it won't be a problem seeing it...I hope. :smickey:
Loved the videos of the dogs in the snow and the one of Ray sliding down the driveway.
I walk to wheaton terriers and they get those snow balls all the time. As long as you let them melt off they are fine.
Thank you for telling us what snow cream is, I have never heard of.
Now the Disney part.
Great update and pics.
that long for RNRC sounded crazy.
Great pics and video
that's so funny about the doggies getting the snow balls stuck to them! poor things!!! it surprises me how many people have never heard of snow cream. it's so good! thanks for the compliments on the disney part! ;)
Great update, as usual.
Luke does look like he is enjoying the Bolt characters. I'm not sure that Brooklynn knows much about them yet. At least, I haven't heard her say their names. Give her time, though, and she'll know all about them.
We love Fantasmic! I was thinking that my friend and I would not see it when we go, because HS is our first day, and I know we'll be zonked from a 6:30 flight. Well, she will be, I'm sure. I'd be up for staying for Fantasmic, of course, but I also want her to be able to get up and moving early the next morning, so it may not happen. We'll just have to make that call when the time comes. I may stay and watch it so I can film some for Jill and Brooklynn, even if Kay decides she needs to go on back to the room. That's the beauty of using the Disney bus system! She can go and I can stay and everyone is happy.
I confess to getting chills and a big old smile, too, when good overcomes evil! When the boat comes out and everyone is happily waving, I feel about five instead of fifty.
That's a neat Fox and the Hound picture. Love that movie, too! (Let's be honest, I love them all.) It's cute that Ray was cultivating his Disney love all that long ago. :)
thanks, memom! yeah, i don't know the bolt characters yet either. i'm sure i'll watch it when it comes out on DVD. speaking of which, i'm excited that pinnochio comes out next tuesday! i can't wait! :yay:
i hope you get to see fantasmic this trip. and i'm glad you're going with a friend who will let you do your own thing if you want. that's the key to having a good trip: compromise! there's so many things to do there and not everyone always wants to do the same stuff. when do you leave, by the way?
thanks! yeah, i was worried that guy would make another appearance at fantasmic but luckily i didn't make any new "friends" that night! :laughing:
for some unknown reason the kids made a REALLY BIG snow ball and wanted to push it down the hill into the lake. this is the adults trying to push it up to the top of the hill. you will see video of them trying to get it down!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/DSC00580.jpg
ray had brought our car back when he went home to get the boogie board, so some of our neighbors hitched a ride back home when we were done!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/DSC00591.jpg
here are all the videos. i will describe each one. some of them are really funny!
luke's first time sledding. watch chris fall in front of the sled to stop him! :rotfl: luke doesn't like to be laughed at so he turns around and says, "that wasn't funny, you stupid kooks!" i still don't know what a kook is. he's in a phase where everything's stupid or dumb. thank you, spongebob squarepants! :laughing: anyway, we told him we were laughing at his daddy falling and not him.
anna going on the boogie board. that thing will FLY! look how far she goes.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/th_MOV00541.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/?action=view&current=MOV00541.flv)
me on the boogie board. i followed anna's path but ray stopped filming before i was done. :rolleyes: i had to drag my feet when i got close to the lake!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/th_MOV00546.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/?action=view&current=MOV00546.flv)
ray's turn! he goes right into a big hole near the bottom of the hill. this is the one where i bailed out before we hit it when we went together.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/th_MOV00562.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/?action=view&current=MOV00562.flv)
chris's turn! he almost hits the tree.
here are chris and anna going together. i wish someone would've filmed me and ray. it was so fun!
luke and eveyln going together. chris had to fall in front of them again to stop them!
here are some of the guys (and anna eventually) trying to roll that big snowball down the hill. it took them forever to get it down there! i actually took like 7 videos of this before they got it in the lake but i'm not posting all of them.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/th_MOV00584.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/snow/?action=view&current=MOV00584.flv)
Fun pictures! Luke wasn't happy with you people, was he? Did he go any more, or was that enough for him?
It's so nice that you guys were able to have a big snow like that and have such a great time with it. That's a rare thing in the south, so it's fun when it happens.
I'll have to see how I'm holding up as far as Fantasmic goes. I think I'll be fine to go, but it depends on how bad my leg is swelling and how much my knee hurts. It's been giving me a lot of grief lately, and I'm fighting off going to the doctor. Trent went and got me some stuff at GNC for joint pain, so I'm going to try that first and hope for the best. Fantasmic is showing twice the night we'll be there and with it being cut back so much, it does make me want to see it while I can. If not, though, we've got ten days this summer, so I'm sure we can get it in then.
We're leaving early Wednesday (18th) and returning Sunday evening.
OK, I must admit, your snow day looks like a lot of fun!
Your neighborhood is beautiful. I wish we had something like that around here. We are looking at new homes in the (hopefully) near future and would love to find one with mature trees, a lake and large lots (though the hills might be a bit of a stretch here in Iowa :laughing: )
Your day looks so fun!! It really is nice to see people appreciate it! Is it all gone now? We got about a foot from that storm, but today was around 60 so a lot of it melted, and there are some grassy spots again. Some schools around here (not mine thanfully!) have to add 45 minutes on their school days and are going until the end of June because of the ice storm back in December. I love your house by the way. I can't remember if I said that back during Christmas with the pictures of lights, but it's beautiful!
Wow!!! Definitely a fun day!! I wish we had snow like that every once in a while!!
Such beautiful photos of the houses and lakes... And great videos too!! Poor Luke in that first video. I chuckled when he said, "That wasn't funny, you stupid kooks!" and you stopped laughing and said, "Oh!" :lmao:
Also, what an awesome idea to use the boogie board!! I had to show Conan how fast it went! It made me think of Chevy Chase in the Christmas Vacation movie, when he puts some sort of oil fluid on his silver metal sled to go ridiculously fast. :thumbsup2
Thanks for posting all your great photos and videos, Dawn! :yay:
I had so much fun watching everyone enjoying the snow. So glad you could have that experience together. What a great day!
So thoughtful of Anna to make hot chocolate, Yumm!
Your so lucky to live in a beautiful area, I'm sure it so lovely in spring/summer. A wonderful place to walk.
Luke was so cute in his rubber boots making a snow angel. :goodvibes
I was wondering what you would sled with. I thought a piece of cardboard but a boogie board is genius! I will need to try that here. We have these things called snow racers (has a seat with a steering wheel and a little ski), flying carpets, blow up tires and toboggans. My neighbour made Lexi a beautiful hand carved sled for Xmas one year. Talk about fast, that thing can fly. We can't take it to the snow hill because the other parents are afraid of injuries if she runs into another kid. Being wood it would hurt more than plastic could. I agree. ;)
The videos are too fun, I'm glad no one flew into the lake or hit a tree. :)
I guess I shouldn't take our snow for granted. I can remember how weird it was when I moved to the south.
I was just saying yesterday, I'm ready for it to melt away. :upsidedow I'm over it for this winter. Bring on SPRING!:flower2: :flower2: :flower2:
That looked like such an awesome time. All of our snow here was so hard and icy we couldn't really sled on it without getting hurt so we didn't go. You guys were flying down that hill!
My four year old Macey doesn't quite understand the Disboards and I am a hairstylist and she said " That girl is pretty how do know her? Do you cut her hair?" It was funny. I tried to explain to her that you live far away but she said "No she doesn't she is right there." pointing to your picture with Tink. Glad you guys had such a fun time can't wait for the next update.:)
no, he went again. i think he was just nervous and he didn't appreciate what he thought was us laughing at him. he just does NOT like to be laughed at when he's not in on the joke. he's usually a sweet boy but when something doesn't please him or he doesn't understand it, it's "stupid" or "dumb." anna's trying to break him of that habit but it's almost impossible because he's around other kids at preschool.
i hope your knee doesn't give you too much trouble next week. i will be thinking of you! :goodvibes you need to force yourself to go to the doctor when you get back. i hate it too but you need to take care of yourself! you have many more disney trips in your future and you'll need to be able to keep up with brooklynn and bella! ;)
OK, I must admit, your snow day looks like a lot of fun!
Your neighborhood is beautiful. I wish we had something like that around here. We are looking at new homes in the (hopefully) near future and would love to find one with mature trees, a lake and large lots (though the hills might be a bit of a stretch here in Iowa :laughing: )
thanks! we bought our house brand new in 2004 for $130,000 and we have 2200 square feet and almost an acre of land. it was a heck of a deal. the only drawback is we're in the middle of nowhere. but i like it! it's so nice and quiet here and the skies are beautiful at night because there's no big cities nearby. plus we have the number one school system in georgia and that will be a big plus for us in the future. as long as i have a decent grocery store nearby, i'm set. I-85 is literally 5 miles from our house so we can get to an awesome mall in 20 minutes going south and outlet stores in 15 minutes going north. we also have gainesville 30 minutes to the west and athens 30 minutes to the east. so we're in a good location. it's just that we live in the COUNTRY so there's not much going on in the immediate vicinity.
Your day looks so fun!! It really is nice to see people appreciate it! Is it all gone now? We got about a foot from that storm, but today was around 60 so a lot of it melted, and there are some grassy spots again. Some schools around here (not mine thanfully!) have to add 45 minutes on their school days and are going until the end of June because of the ice storm back in December. I love your house by the way. I can't remember if I said that back during Christmas with the pictures of lights, but it's beautiful!
yep, it's all gone. it was 76 today so i think that finally melted it all! :laughing: and thanks about my house. i love it too! we plan on staying here for awhile. it's the perfect size for us.
Wow!!! Definitely a fun day!! I wish we had snow like that every once in a while!!
Such beautiful photos of the houses and lakes... And great videos too!! Poor Luke in that first video. I chuckled when he said, "That wasn't funny, you stupid kooks!" and you stopped laughing and said, "Oh!" :lmao:
Also, what an awesome idea to use the boogie board!! I had to show Conan how fast it went! It made me think of Chevy Chase in the Christmas Vacation movie, when he puts some sort of oil fluid on his silver metal sled to go ridiculously fast. :thumbsup2
Thanks for posting all your great photos and videos, Dawn! :yay:
thanks! yeah, luke doesn't like to be laughed at - that's for sure! anna doesn't like him to use the word "stupid" but it's been a common occurrence lately. she's trying to get him to stop. oh, and we LOVE "christmas vacation." that's one of my favorite christmas movies. i love clark. "there's a lot of sap in here." :lmao:
nice to see all of you having fun in the snow.
the videos were great.
How nice of Anna to make the hot chocolate.
Chris looks like he got one workout that day, up and down the hill. :lmao:
Too bad no video of you and Ray going down.
Eli did not want to join in the fun? :lmao:
Your community looks so nice.
yeah, chris was so tired when we were done sledding! he went up and down a lot. i only dragged two kids on it (little maddyx, the one in the red coat, and luke) and both times i was DEAD when i got up to the top of the hill! um.....i can imagine eli sledding. :rotfl2: thanks about our community. we love it! it's in the middle of nowhere but that's why i like it. being used to NYC, you'd die of boredom here! :rotfl:
I had so much fun watching everyone enjoying the snow. So glad you could have that experience together. What a great day!
So thoughtful of Anna to make hot chocolate, Yumm!
Your so lucky to live in a beautiful area, I'm sure it so lovely in spring/summer. A wonderful place to walk.
Luke was so cute in his rubber boots making a snow angel. :goodvibes
I was wondering what you would sled with. I thought a piece of cardboard but a boogie board is genius! I will need to try that here. We have these things called snow racers (has a seat with a steering wheel and a little ski), flying carpets, blow up tires and toboggans. My neighbour made Lexi a beautiful hand carved sled for Xmas one year. Talk about fast, that thing can fly. We can't take it to the snow hill because the other parents are afraid of injuries if she runs into another kid. Being wood it would hurt more than plastic could. I agree. ;)
The videos are too fun, I'm glad no one flew into the lake or hit a tree. :)
I guess I shouldn't take our snow for granted. I can remember how weird it was when I moved to the south.
I was just saying yesterday, I'm ready for it to melt away. :upsidedow I'm over it for this winter. Bring on SPRING!:flower2: :flower2: :flower2:
it is a great neighborhood to walk in. from my house to the lake, around the trail and back is 1 mile exactly so it's nice to have that option for exercise. in fact, i took sherman and eli for a walk today since it was so pretty out.
so cool about lexi's sled! i'm sure she loves it.
i hope you guys get your spring soon! i'm hoping we're done with what little winter we got. i LOVE spring - it's probably my favorite. today was the first day we had our windows open all day. :flower3:
I love all the snow pictures, that looks like so much fun!
thanks! it was. :dance3:
what fun! very nice neighborhood you have and fun neighbors! I would kill for a hill to go down on a sled! Its sooo flat in my town lol:rotfl:
thanks! we have a good bit of hills here. that's one drawback when trying to find a lot to build a house on. we have a huge hill in our back yard but we couldn't sled down it because we'd run into the house! i didn't like it at first but now i do because it's sort of like our own little privacy fence.
Wow that body board really did go, I'll have to try that when it snows here again, so about 3 years :rotfl:
let me know how that goes! it was ray's idea and i was glad he thought of it because it was tons of fun!
That looked like such an awesome time. All of our snow here was so hard and icy we couldn't really sled on it without getting hurt so we didn't go. You guys were flying down that hill!
My four year old Macey doesn't quite understand the Disboards and I am a hairstylist and she said " That girl is pretty how do know her? Do you cut her hair?" It was funny. I tried to explain to her that you live far away but she said "No she doesn't she is right there." pointing to your picture with Tink. Glad you guys had such a fun time can't wait for the next update.:)
that's so cute about macey!!! i love how kids' minds work. :goodvibes
Love the snow pics and videos Dawn! We had so much snow here, I wish we would have taken advantage of it like you guys did.
thanks! you guys are just so used to it - you probably don't want to even SEE it much less get out there and play in it. but we never get the chance so it's just different here.
OOPs! I missed your snow videos yesterday! Looks like you had so much fun! We haven't had enough snow to sled this year, except for one week when we were just too busy, I guess. Last year, we took Myles down a huge hill, and he screamed with joy the whole way down - he's the same age as Luke. I sat in the van and held the baby and watched!:thumbsup2
the snow videos were really cool, whould anyone in that group be mean enough to turn someon on the sled and push them toward the lake.
:laughing: that would be funny to see them bail out before they get there.
a week ago today we were sledding in the snow. today it was 80 degrees and i was SWEATING as i jogged around the lake. :confused: don't get me wrong - i'm not complaining because i'm definitely ready for spring. i'm just.....perplexed.
luke liked it after the first time. i think he just panicked that first ride. but i remember one time he went down with evelyn and when he came back up i said, "was that fun" and he started laughing and said, "THAT WAS SO FUNNY!!!!" you just never know with him. :laughing:
my husband would be the one to do it but he knows i wouldn't let him. in fact, when we rode together i told him specifically not to aim for the big dip and he did anyway, so i actually bailed before we got there. that was fun - snow all down my shirt! :scared1:
i don't know if you guys have ever seen the show "toddlers & tiaras" on TLC but ray and i were just watching it and the show was from the georgia mountains center which is literally RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET from ray's office!!!!!! we just thought it was funny. and nothing against any of you who do pageants but some of those people just look RIDICULOUS. nice to know who our neighbors are! :rotfl:
I've seen the commercials. That's enough for me. I don't think I could make myself watch the actual show.
Scrolling back through your report reminded me that I meant to check out the snow cream at the grocery store when I went, but I forgot. I'm going to go put it on a list for next time. I want to find out if it tastes anything close to the real thing.
Weather in the South sure is odd. Yesterday was great, almost 80 and the news is saying that we may get sleet and snow tomorrow morning.
I have seen that show on TLC. My 6 year old son saw a little bit and asked if the girls were real. A lot of that stuff is creepy.
i know - such a bummer about fantasmic. i'm somewhat familiar with snow being that i grew up in northcentral tennessee and we got about 3 or 4 good snows a year. we just never get it here!
I've seen the commercials. That's enough for me. I don't think I could make myself watch the actual show.
yeah, i will never, ever put my child in one of those shows. it's a personal choice but i just don't believe in rewarding someone for their looks and looks alone. i know they say their personality comes out but it all looks fake to me. i asked ray what he'd do if we had a little girl and i told him that i was gonna start her in pageants and he just looked at me like....um.....no. i'm not saying it's WRONG - i just don't see myself doing it.
i think mayfield makes some snow cream popcicles that are decent.
wow.....i didn't realize this update was so huge. we took lots of pictures so get ready!
fantasmic was awesome, but now it was time for two things i was REALLY
looking forward to. first of all, we had fastpasses to use for TSM!!!! if you'll remember from WAY back this morning, we had gotten fastpasses first thing. but our return time wasn't until 5:50. at that point we were headed to get seats for fantasmic, so we had no choice but to use them AFTER fantasmic. no problem!
luke was hungry and i was getting worried because we were cutting it close to park closing. it was around 7:40 and the park closed at 8:00. so ray and i headed over to TSM while anna and company looked for food. i just didn't want ray to miss TSM since he had never ridden it!
i took these on the way. i love the mickey!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/01-11.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/02-10.jpg
we booked it and got here right at 7:45.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/03-11.jpg
i double-checked with the CM at the fastpass entrance to make sure that they kept the osborne lights on after closing and he said that we were fine, we'd have about an hour after park closing to enjoy them. :thumbsup2 i had read that they did this but i wanted to be sure.
so we hopped in the fastpass line and were inside in no time. ray LOVED the queue area, especially the tinker toys!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/04-11.jpg
super cool in our glasses.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/05-11.jpg
okay, i knew that ray would be competitive on this ride. he loves stuff like this and he always beats me. but i had NO IDEA he'd turn into an 8-year-old obnoxious little boy!!!!!! every time we'd go into another round he'd look at the score and, even if i came really close to beating him, he'd scream at me, "YEAH, BABY......TAKE THAT!!!!" or something similar. it was so annoying.
or maybe i'm just a sore loser.
:rotfl:
anyway, he did beat me but not by a whole bunch like i had expected. I'LL GET HIM NEXT TIME!!!!!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/06-11.jpg
as we were waiting to get off the ride my phone rang and it was chris. he asked where we were and i told him almost off the ride. he said that they were in line and standing on the bridge that actually goes over the track and luke had said, "there's dawn and gray!" they didn't think he'd really saw us but he had. :laughing: i told him we'd wait for them at the exit. they were just getting on as we were getting off and we saw them. i'm glad they got to ride because i knew they'd love it!
i took this while we were waiting at the exit. i love this little area!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/07-11.jpg
coming off the ride.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/10-11.jpg
so as soon as we were done at TSM we headed towards the streets of america to see what i was MOST excited about......THE OSBORNE LIGHTS!!!!!!
i can't tell you how excited i was to see these. i couldn't wait! :yay:
we came in the back way, near the LMA area. OH, MY GOODNESS......SO PRETTY!!!!!!!!!!!
we got there around 8:10, which was actually 10 minutes after park closing. i was really happy that the crowd was pretty thin. there was still a crowd but NOTHING like i thought it would be. i've read horror stories about not being able to move in this area and it was nothing like that. so now i know the secret: get there around park closing!
here's the first video ray got of the lights dancing. you hear him say, "are they gonna start moving?" :lmao: i had told him they danced but i guess he didn't know what i meant. you can see me keep looking back at him because i knew he would just LOVE it! it was SO COOL!!!!!!
as we walked down the street some more they started pumping the snow. you can kinda see it here.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/22-10.jpg
now luke had talked about NOTHING other than how it was gonna snow at disney world in the weeks leading up to the trip. when it started ray and i were in an area where it was really coming down. so we started screaming for anna to get him over there to see the snow. you can hear that in this video and also listen for him running around screaming. he LOVED it! i wish ray would've thought to film luke because it was so funny.
the only bad thing about the osborne lights is that they can't take photopass pictures while the lights are dancing because there's a chance you'd only have half the lights in your pictures. so sometimes it takes awhile to get a picture made! ray walked away a little bit to get some video when the lights started to dance again.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december TR/th_Pic012.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december TR/?action=view&current=Pic012.flv)
finally it was our turn. i love all these that were taken at the osborne lights! i think one of them is going to be our christmas card next year. obviously not one that says 2008!
anna actually took this one.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/34-5.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/35-6.jpg
when anna, chris and luke got up there, luke wasn't not very happy about having to hold still and not play and run around under the lights. he kept looking around. i was behind the CMs yelling at him and anna and chris were both yelling his name too to get his attention. one of the CMs standing near the photographer picked up on it and started screaming "LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" it was so obnoxious but HILARIOUS!!!!! :lmao:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/37-6.jpg
we then headed down the street that's completely covered in lights and it was SO COOL down there. ray wanted his picture with the snowman.
as you can tell from the video, by this time the crowd was all but completely gone. it was really nice!
some more pictures of the lights dancing. the blanket of lights over the street had a really cool effect!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/45-4.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/46-3.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/47-3.jpg
more photopass pics!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/49-3.jpg
anna gave up on luke this time. he was too busy running around and having fun!!!! :dance3:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/50-3.jpg
one last video of dancing lights! this is really amazing. the view from the end of this street was really, really pretty. it gets REALLY good towards the end!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december TR/th_Pic014.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december TR/?action=view&current=Pic014.flv)
we then headed back out into the main street and i noticed the fireplace with the osbornes' stockings hanging over it....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/51-3.jpg
ray decided to warm his hands by the fire. :laughing:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/52-3.jpg
one last look back......
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/53-3.jpg
we stood at the opposite end we'd come into and watched as they played the last song of the night with the lights dancing. anna, luke and chris were dancing around during this - it was cute! then promptly at 9:00 on the dot, the lights went dark.
i cannot tell you how much we LOVED this hour of our trip!!!!!! it was a huge highlight. i'm so glad we got to see them. and pictures and video don't even come close to doing the lights justice! if you ever get a chance to see them, DO IT! i can't wait to back in 2010 and see them again.
and i'm telling you - the key is waiting until just before closing to head in that direction. the crowd was minimal and we all had so much fun - especially luke! it was so fun to see him run around and just dance under the lights with the snow falling. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes
we then headed towards the exit and stopped to take some speeder bike pictures near star tours.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/54-3.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/55-3.jpg
i have never gotten a picture on it so i decided it was my turn, but luke wanted to ride too. so we went together.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/56-2.jpg
just after that picture was taken luke raised his head up suddenly and BONKED me right in the eyebrow with his hard head. it HURT! but you know how kids are - he wasn't even phased!
i love this one - ROCK ON!!!!!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/58-2.jpg
now my turn!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/59-2.jpg
as we were leaving the star tours area i heard something coming from the trees above the entrance. i looked up there and realized that's where the ewoks lived and you could HEAR THEM TALKING!!!! it was the cutest thing! when i told ray to listen his mouth just fell open in surprise. here's a video i took with my camera so the quality stinks and you can barely hear them. you have to listen hard! you can hear chris telling luke what ewoks are and then ray says something about how they're going to eat C-3PO. although he mispronounces it and says 3PO instead. you'd think a star wars expert like him would get it right!!! :rotfl:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december TR/th_MOV08704.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december TR/?action=view&current=MOV08704.flv)
here's a picture i took of that area. you can't really see much in the dark.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/60-2.jpg
i love how disney adds these little details. so cool! i wonder if you can hear them all day or just at night after park closing? whoever's there next has to listen REALLY close when you go by that area and let me know!
some random shots as we left the park. i love this park at night!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/61-2.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/62-2.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/63-1.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/64-1.jpg
luke had to use the bathroom before we left so me, ray and anna went to wait by the turnstyles for he and chris. they seemed to take forever and we started having to do jumping jacks and running in place to keep warm. it was COLD! i'm sure we looked so silly. ray has gout in his foot and the cold weather makes it really painful, so he was hurting. they eventually came out and what took so long is that luke fell in the bathroom and chris had to calm him down. poor little guy!
we finally headed to the car and i snapped this on the way.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/65-1.jpg
that picture was taken at 9:27 so that's what time we left the park. it had been a long, cold day! but we had a blast! i was a little disappointed that we didn't get to ride RnRC or see beauty & the beast, but with the crowds it was just impossible. plus it's just hard to fit everything in at DHS because it's a lot of shows and they take so long.
we headed back to the condo, stopping at mickey D's along the way. we were all starving! we hadn't eaten a meal since sci-fi at lunch! :eek: when they had tried to find luke some food earlier all they found was popcorn so everyone was still pretty hungry.
to beddy-bye we went. tomorrow was our big MK day!!!!!! and i was planning on doing something i'd waited my whole life to do. :woohoo: stay tuned for that. :thumbsup2
HOW COOL:thumbsup2 :woohoo: The pictures and videos you took were amazing!!!! What a great tip to be there after closing, I never would have thought of that and I couldn't believe the lack of crowds as your night/pictures progressed. WOW! Thanks for all of the awesome video and pics. Glad you guys got to ride Toy Story,that ride rocks! Ray sounds a lot like Tim ( I guess most guys;) ) with his competetiveness, he does the same thing and I NEVER beat him. I couldn't believe how right on both of your accuracy was.
LOVED how you found the Christmas Story lamp and heard the Ewoks, I couldn't agree more, gotta love those Disney touches.
Beautiful pictures! I look forward to seeing them again on our December trip, but we may wait until almost park closing time to go back there, since it worked so well for you.
It was so much more crowded when we were there on the opening night of Osborne Lights.
SO much more crowded.
We were shuffling our feet and taking about two inch strides. That was as crowded as I have ever seen it.
Thanks for the nice update. It was a good way to start this cold day. It's sleeting outside right now, so with that and your Osborne Lights pictures, I may put in a Disney Christmas CD on the way in and have hot chocolate when I get there....in my Disney World Happy Holidays mug, of course! :santa: (Normally I am already at school by this time, but with the sleet, I was waiting to see if they might call a snow/ice day at the last minute. No such luck. I'm gone.)
He'll get mad if I rotate our car around to the other side! He'll be like "HEY! I was almost getting something over there!" :rolleyes: Boys and their games huh?!
Aw, the lights look so awesome! That peace, love, and Mickey sign was cool! I've seen a few tattoos of that and I think it's so cute! Again, Luke is free entertainment! :thumbsup2 Haha, the leg lamp..We actually found one before this past Christmas and got it for my grandpa because he is a HUGE fan of the movie! That's so funny you found it there! Did you know about it before you went? Or did you just randomly find it?
if you're not familiar with him, here's some of his stuff. he has a potty mouth sometimes but they bleeped him so you don't have to go into the closet away from the kids to listen. :laughing:
I loved your update, great pictures. We have seen the Osborne lights twice. The first time we saw them it was so crowded we literally could not move. The second time was at closing and it was SO much better. The lights really put you in the Christmas mood. I know that I am probably the only one who feels this way, but it doesn't feel like Christmas to me at Disney World. The decorations are really pretty but I guess the weather just keeps me from feeling like it is Christmas time. But, the Osborne lights sure do feel "Christmasy" to me.
Man, Dane Cook is funny as heck. I don't care for the language though. The whole thing about the guy and the car (trying to be discreet while kids are reading hehe) is hilarious.
"man are you alright? you need to go to the hospital????" "naw I'm ok. Has anyone seen my shoes?" :lmao:
The atheist one is also hilarious. Another comic that's genius is Demetri Martin.
I couldn't hear the Ewoks in the trees, but then again... I don't really know what Ewoks sound like! That's such a cute idea!
Thanks for such a big, great post!! popcorn::
oh, you have to go rent a christmas story RIGHT NOW!!!!! it's SUCH a hilarious movie. on TV station here plays it for 24 hours straight from 7:00 pm christmas even to 7:00 pm christmas night every single year. it's great!
ewoks sound like they've sucked in a lot of helium!
WOW!!!:scared1: This is my favorite update by far, I have been waiting and waiting for this and it did exactly what I thought it would do, MAKE ME WANT TO GO DURING OSBORNE LIGHTS! HOW COOL:thumbsup2 :woohoo: The pictures and videos you took were amazing!!!! What a great tip to be there after closing, I never would have thought of that and I couldn't believe the lack of crowds as your night/pictures progressed. WOW! Thanks for all of the awesome video and pics. Glad you guys got to ride Toy Story,that ride rocks! Ray sounds a lot like Tim ( I guess most guys;) ) with his competetiveness, he does the same thing and I NEVER beat him. I couldn't believe how right on both of your accuracy was.
LOVED how you found the Christmas Story lamp and heard the Ewoks, I couldn't agree more, gotta love those Disney touches.
I want the "peace love and Mickey" lights for my front yard :goodvibes
GREAT update!:thumbsup2
Lesley
thanks! you guys really do need to go during the holidays sometime. you would absolutely love it!
Beautiful pictures! I look forward to seeing them again on our December trip, but we may wait until almost park closing time to go back there, since it worked so well for you.
It was so much more crowded when we were there on the opening night of Osborne Lights.
SO much more crowded.
We were shuffling our feet and taking about two inch strides. That was as crowded as I have ever seen it.
Thanks for the nice update. It was a good way to start this cold day. It's sleeting outside right now, so with that and your Osborne Lights pictures, I may put in a Disney Christmas CD on the way in and have hot chocolate when I get there....in my Disney World Happy Holidays mug, of course! :santa: (Normally I am already at school by this time, but with the sleet, I was waiting to see if they might call a snow/ice day at the last minute. No such luck. I'm gone.)
yeah, going there right around park closing is a good idea! but you know how they change things so much at disney. i would definitely ask as CM earlier that day if the lights stay on after closing just to make sure. so funny that you had a "disney christmas" day to make that cold, drizzly day fun! good idea.
Awwww, I am so excited about seeing the Osborne Lights now!!!! Woly moly!!!! That is so cool you saw the leg lamp!!! I love that movie!!!
But gosh, those pictures were awesome!!!!
thanks! yeah, seeing the leg lamp was hilarious because we love that movie too!
Oh I can't wait to go this year so I can see everything in person. 8 more months to go for me YEAH. Your picture in front of the lights for your card came out really cute. I can't wait to do that as well, putting in my head go there late.
definitely go late! but do what i told memom to do - be sure to ask a CM when you get to DHS that day if the lights stay on after closing. you know how they change things at disney without bothering to tell anyone. so i'd hate for you to show up 5 minutes before closing and not get to see very much!
Isn't Toy Story Mania so much fun?! I love Andy's nightlight! I WILL find a way to beat B/F this trip! :laughing: He acts like a lil' kid on Buzz too. He'll get mad if I rotate our car around to the other side! He'll be like "HEY! I was almost getting something over there!" :rolleyes: Boys and their games huh?!
Aw, the lights look so awesome! That peace, love, and Mickey sign was cool! I've seen a few tattoos of that and I think it's so cute! Again, Luke is free entertainment! :thumbsup2 Haha, the leg lamp..We actually found one before this past Christmas and got it for my grandpa because he is a HUGE fan of the movie! That's so funny you found it there! Did you know about it before you went? Or did you just randomly find it?
ray is so obnoxious when it comes to games. it's like.....get over yourself!!! :laughing:
yeah, i knew about it before but i had no idea where it was. they move it every year. we love that movie so i had to find it!
Wow! Great pictures! Fabulous update!
thanks!
How perfect, that after the boogie boarding/sledding pics and references to Christmas Vacation, that the first video has the theme song to that movie playing in the background. I didn't know if you noticed it or not, but I got a chuckle out of it.
I really want to go during Christmas time so that I can see the lights. They look so cool!!
seriously!!! they were playing that song as we walked into the area and ray just looked at me and said, "i can't believe they're playing this!" we both LOVE that movie!
good plan on waiting till the close, the lines for photopass were huge during hte normal hours, we did not get to use them.
next time we will use your tip
it was great going right around closing! that first photopass line took awhile but the second one was pretty much non-existant. if you do go at closing next time, be sure to ask a DHS CM earlier that day if they still keep them on after closing. i'd hate for you guys to go and not get to see them!
Dawn...I loved your snow update. It reminds me of going up north for spring break...there isn't much snow so we just sled like crazy and usually a couple of us almost end up in the lake LOL. It's too much fun but your right its good for one day and then its like bring on spring!!!
The Osborne lights look amazing. I really want to go during the holidays but I also want a summer trip? We will see. Its so cute how look is so happy, that makes it so worth it. I LOVE TSM!!! I was cracking up at what you said about Ray...I can see that ride doing that to the men. :confused3 Can't wait for the next update.!!!popcorn::
thanks - we had so much fun that day with the snow!
oh, i don't think i could handle the summer. heat + crowds = BLAH! of course i know some people have to go during the summer because of kids/work but i just can't deal with BOTH of those things. when we went in september i thought i was gonna DIE with the heat and i know it wasn't as bad then as it would've been in july. plus add the crowd to that and....yuck! sorry for those of you who go during the summer - i know you probably don't have a choice. i admire your will power! :laughing:
Glad you all got to ride TSM, I can't wait! :thumbsup2
I didn't know you can use fastpasses after the return time expires, is that true? :confused:
What a great idea to wait to see the Osborne Lights at closing time. :)
It was perfect, you could move around and Luke could run. I love it when CM's interact with the kids. Little did Luke know he would get to see real snow in the future. Way cooler!
Good old Mickey D's....always around and open all hours, gotta love it...:rotfl2:
the CMs at the lights were GREAT! they were so playful and it was really cool to watch them having fun too.
:rotfl:
I love Dane Cook! I'm so jealous! Have you seen his thing about Oprah? I was in tears the first time I watched it.
Great update, by the way! I love the Osborne lights. Seeing the lights when I go makes me so much more in the mood for Christmas and the holidays. :goodvibes
yeah, i've seen him make fun of oprah - hilarous!
thanks! i loved the lights too - i think they were my favorite part of the trip!
all caught up.
the Osborne Lights were gorgeous. You got some great video and pics. It was the highlight of my trip.
I never heard the Ewoks before but have seen the display up there.
thanks! we loved the lights, too. such a cool thing to see and be a part of! you'll have to listen for the ewoks on your next trip.
Wow, those Osborne Lights are amazing!!!! And I had no idea about the Leg Lamp!!!! We watch A Christmas Story 25-times every December so I love that, too funny! Your pics and video came out great :thumbsup2
thanks! we love a christmas story too! the dad is my favorite character. MUNDANE NOODLE!!!!! :rotfl:
Awesome about Dane Cook! :thumbsup2
I also love all your Osborne light pictures. I like the picture with the little dogs on the stoop!
When I first read that someone was yelling "LUUUUUUKE!," it immediately made me think of a Red Sox game when people yell for Kevin Youkilis (I'm not sure how to spell his name)..."YOUUUUUUK!" :rotfl2:
thanks! so funny about youkilis!!! :rotfl2:
I loved your update, great pictures. We have seen the Osborne lights twice. The first time we saw them it was so crowded we literally could not move. The second time was at closing and it was SO much better. The lights really put you in the Christmas mood. I know that I am probably the only one who feels this way, but it doesn't feel like Christmas to me at Disney World. The decorations are really pretty but I guess the weather just keeps me from feeling like it is Christmas time. But, the Osborne lights sure do feel "Christmasy" to me.
thanks! i'm so glad we got to see them. i know what you mean about being in florida at christmas time. i'm glad we went when we did - about 2 weeks before christmas. it did put me in the christmas mood but i don't think i'd like to be there during actual christmas - it's just not the same as being at home. i LOVE disney world with all my heart but i need to be either in georgia or tennessee for christmas!
Great Osborne Lights pics and videos Dawn! You did a really good job with them and everything is so beautiful. :thumbsup2
And OMGGG...I LOVE DANE COOK! I've liked him since his earlier stuff from 5 or 6 yrs ago too. I have his first 2 CDs and I used to listen to them in the car and a red lights people would be staring at me because I was hysterically laughing! My BF and I saw him in November of 07 in the Rough Around the Edges tour and he is soooooo funny I can't even deal. And I love when Vicious Circle is on HBO. I could go on for days about how much I love him but I'll stop here. Anyway, I'm sure jealous!! I have to start looking for tickets for BF and I when hes up here in NY! :goodvibes
thanks! hope you guys get go see dane cook - sounds like you're a big fan!
My kids LOVE Dane Cook!!! They would be so jealous that you get to go! Enjoy
we LOVE dane cook!!!! "NO cookies rrrrrr" is my fav!!!!! Nice score on the tix!
TIM AND I ARE HUGE Dane Cook Fans!!!! I am so jealous. I got the same email and was SO bummed he isn't coming here again this time. I have all his cd's an die each time I hear them, I listen to him in the car all the time and drive down the road laughing until I cry. He is actually in Orlando when we're there and I brought it up to Tim - but with kids, not gonna happen, hopefully we get to see him live someday.
Here's my favorite Dane cook clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9MkUpzfsfk
(there's language in it, so don't view with kids around)
OMG Dawn! I'm jealous! B/F and I LOVE Dane Cook!!!!
yes, we are VERY excited to see dane cook!!! we got decent seats. we are in the front row of our section. now i just have to wait until the end of june! :rotfl2:
lesley - great video!!!
You have some really great pictures of the lights! I can't wait to see them! Awesome about Dane Cook too. I'm going to have to start checking out if he's going to be in our area. Feel better!!
thanks! they were really a highlight of our trip.
Feel better dawn!!!!!!!!!!!
(love the last updates..the Osborne lights were a HUGE hilight of our trip as well...they are AMAZING!!!)
thanks! we really enjoyed the lights - so cool!
Wow Dawn I'm definitely going to go and see the Osborne lights at closing, when I was there you couldn't move!!!! Love all the photos and Lukes face is just adorable!
I've never heard of hearing the Ewoks before I'll definitely be adding that to my to do list :thumbsup2
Hope you feel better soon :hug:
going there at closing was great! be sure to ask a CM though if they still keep them on after closing just in case disney decides (like they tend to do) to change things up! thanks!
Dawn those videos were great. I never heard of him but he's really funny, I have been laughing out loud and my kids keep coming in the room asking me what is so funny.
Get some rest, I second that nice one day yuck the next.
he's hilarious! he uses a lot of language though so it's kind of hard to watch in front of the kids.
Man, Dane Cook is funny as heck. I don't care for the language though. The whole thing about the guy and the car (trying to be discreet while kids are reading hehe) is hilarious.
"man are you alright? you need to go to the hospital????" "naw I'm ok. Has anyone seen my shoes?" :lmao:
The atheist one is also hilarious. Another comic that's genius is Demetri Martin.
"When I was a kid, I sucked at sports. Then I found out you could buy trophies. Now I'm good at everything!" :rotfl2:
yeah, i don't like the language either. but you have to admit he's dang funny! he does a routine about messed up teeth that has me crying with laughter every time i hear it!
so funny about the trophies!!!
Just wanted to post this, for everyone that's seen the movie Fireproof. If you haven't, go get it! It's an excellent movie. The main female lead that's in it, Erin Bethea, also works at the World. She does storytime with Belle:
very cool!!! she's so pretty.
Get some rest sister!! That's the only thing that's going to work. Don't worry about DISing. It'll be here when you're well.
Feel better.....
Everything in the world seems to be going around at school. We've run the whole gamut of illnesses. I started with a fever, added a sore throat, and now am in the part where I'm yo-yoing between stuffy nose and runny nose. I'm just glad it's been going on during this past week instead of next week.
Hope you feel better as the weekend wears on. Get your work behind you and then just chill out the rest of the time.
Wish you were closer - I'd bring you a box of tissues and a bowl of chicken soup. :)
Uggh - being sick is the worst! Feel better quickly!
Aww, get better soon Dawn!!
You should stick some tissues up your nose, lie on the couch with a blanket and watch some daytime tv!! :)
Hope you feel better soon, Dawn! Here's some PD for you! pixiedust:
Feel better soon, Dawn!!! :goodvibes
I hope you feel better soon! :goodvibes:
Get better soon. The Dane Cook Videos were great. I have really enjoyed your report and look forward to the next installment.
Hope you feel better
thanks for all the well wishes, guys! i'm still feeling icky but better. i just can't breathe easily and it's very annoying!!! it's this stupid weather. two weekends ago it snows, last weekend it was 80 degrees, this past weekend it was cold and drizzly and we're supposed to be back up until the 70's tomorrow!!!! :headache:
being sick has put me REALLY behind in my mountain of work. i've been doing some work but just not as much as i would normally. so i'm behind. thus, no updates for a little while. i've got my pictures picked out for the next one - just have to put them in order and upload them, so it shouldn't be too terribly long. be back hopefully sometime in the next few days!
OMG all these Dane references are making me want to see him even more! He's on Long Island on May 3 and the cheapest tickets I found (nosebleed seats of course) were $112 each! :scared: The atheist one that you posted is probably one of my favorite ones but the B&E one gets me everytime too. :laughing: :thumbsup2
i just finished typing a HUGE transcript so i figured i'd celebrate by getting an update up. it will be a short one though. better than nothin!
-------------------------
on to day 3! a bittersweet day because this means that we're over halfway through our trip. remember we only had 4 days this trip because it was a "bonus" trip and we couldn't take much time off.
this was saturday, december 13th and today was to be our MK day. now, i had been reading since october about the new tink/fairies area in toontown. you have to understand how excited i was about this.....i have a been a tink fan since i was a very small child. peter pan has always been one of my favorite movies. i never, ever thought i'd have the chance to meet tink! when i heard she was in the pirate & princess party parade i was SO EXCITED! now i can actually meet her? i was all over it!
i knew that the best strategy for meeting her and not having to wait 2 hours to do it was to get there for rope drop. i also knew that i didn't want to force my entire party to do that since you have to get up pretty early to do so. so anna and i talked about it on friday night and she said she knew luke would love meeting her. so they decided to come with me. since we had 2 cars, we had the option of just meeting them later. i also told ray he was welcome to sleep in since one of the things he hates to do on vacation is get up early. he told me he might get up - just to ask him in the morning.
we woke up saturday morning bright and early and the tinker fairies had visited luke yet again!!!!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/01-12.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/02-11.jpg
one of the things he got that day was a kaliedoscope and he couldn't figure out how to close one eye to look into it, so chris helped! :rotfl:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/03-12.jpg
i woke ray up around 7:45 to see if he wanted to come with us and he just moaned, so i took that as a no. i left him his park ticket, the car keys and $20 in his wallet for parking and off we went!
because i had been in the back seat the other 2 days, i hadn't gotten this picture yet!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/04-12.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/05-12.jpg
it was kinda cold that morning but nothing like the day before. i had on a long-sleeved t-shirt, a polo and a light jacket and i was okay. i do remember though that i had some coffee in a paper cup walking through the parking lot and on the tram to the monorail station. by the time i got to the monorail, the coffee was ice cold. so it was rather chilly!
on our way to MK, my favorite place in the world!!!! :woohoo:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/06-12.jpg
i had read that sometimes they open toontown at 9:15 and sometimes at 9:45. i wanted to be there early in case they did the former of the two. thus we had our game plan worked out that i would walk ahead and they would meet me at toontown. so most of the rest of these pictures were taken by anna since i had gone on ahead.
when we got off the monorail, the opening show had just finished and the mobs were heading in. so i said goodbye to my friends and made my way into the sea of people while anna, luke and chris took their time.
i love this one - the GF in the background is so pretty!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/07-12.jpg
i really didn't take too much time to look around MK when i came in - i just kept over to the right side and tried to nicely walk around people, then walked through the noodle station, through tomorrowland and past the tea cups to toontown. but it still didn't make being at MK in the morning any less magical. i just love it! :goodvibes i was glad i had all day to look at the christmas decorations i had sort of rushed by though!
more of anna's pics on their way in....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/08-12.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/09-12.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/10-12.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/11-12.jpg
i got over at toontown at exactly 9:10!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/13-12.jpg
there were only 2 other men there with strollers. it was so funny - neither of them really knew what they were doing there. their wives had sent them over to hold their spot in line! :rotfl:
9:15 came and went and no rope drop. so i figured it would be 9:45. oh, well! at least i was already there and knew i was gonna get in early.
anna and chris showed up around 15 minutes later and by that time there were about 20 more people in line. they passed these guys on the way....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/12-12.jpg
they must trade out every 30 minutes or so because this was only around 9:30 in the morning! i thought the christmas tree lot setting was just so cute and festive!
we talked for a little while, then they took luke back to meet uncle scrooge. i struck up a conversation with a woman who had been to MVMCP the thursday night before that. she said it was AWFUL - so crowded you couldn't ride anything or even walk comfortably. i was like GREAT! i was hoping the next night, when we were going to the party, wouldn't be that way!
here are the pics of anna, chris and luke meeting uncle scrooge. i didn't go because i knew ray wanted to meet him and we'd do that later in the day.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/14-12.jpg
i think he's giving him a high-five here. :laughing:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/15-11.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/19-12.jpg
so cute! i knew that we'd be meeting him later and i was excited! :yay: so was ray. for some reason when i told him uncle scrooge was at MK for christmas he thought that was so cool.
well, i will stop here because the next installment will be rather lengthy since we'll be meeting FAIRIES!!!! plus i've gotta upload the video.
Can't wait for more, thanks for the update, great way to start my day today :woohoo:
Little by little I am catching up. Love all the new pics! I can't wait to see those OL again. That was my favorite Holiday thing at Disney! I'm going earlier this time though to avoid the crowds. Not that it was bad the week I went but that last night...OMG, never again!
The snow pics are GREAT! Looks like ya'll had a lot of fun! Maybe next year we can get to the Mtns and play in some snow. I'd prefer not to get it here at home. It's bad for my palms. They all look so bad right now.
I can't wait to hear your Tink story! I am SO GLAD they brought her out for a meet and greet! They should have done it years ago!
I really wish we didn't have to go during the summer. I hate the humidity and heat also. But we can't afford to go this winter and next summer is the only chance we have. My sister graduates from college, my other sister from HS, and I leave for Navy boot camp in June. So my parents really want a vacation before we are all gone. At this point I will go whenever!!!
I can't wait to see the Fairies!!! There is always a benefit to waking up early at Disney:) Hope you are feeling better.
hey, guys! just wanted to let you know that i *may* be MIA for the next few days. i got news today that my niece may be on her way so i've got a suitcase packed and i'm gonna try my BEST to go to nashville for her arrival. i'm just waiting on the phone call! luckily i'm off tomorrow but i'm not sure about thursday. i've got someone to cover for me on friday but i don't know what our calendar looks like on thursday so right now that may be an issue. considering i didn't get this news until about 6:30 tonight, there was no one at the office to call and find out what's going on the rest of the week!
oh, and i also broke my left pinky toe today, just adding to the excitement of my day! as i was walking past my dining room i clipped it on the pillar that sort of divides my living room and dining room. i knew it was broken as soon as i felt it happen. after rolling around on the floor and saying a few choice words, i took off my sock and it was already swelling. right now it's starting to bruise. i've got it propped up on pillows and i have an ice pack bandaged around it. i had to go to court this afternoon and, after setting up my equipment, take out an ice pack and bandage it around my foot while the attorneys watched me do this. it was quite embarassing!
I'm so happy that you get to see the fairies and I can't wait to hear all about it! Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get to see them when I go next month but if theres a line thats out of the question because BF would never wait for it :laughing:
Anna and family are just so cute with Scrooge Donald and I'm glad Ray got to see him later in the day since he was so excited :goodvibes
Thanks for updating!! I know that you are super busy. So sorry to hear about your toe. It makes it hard to wear heels to work when your pinky toe is throbbing!
Here's to hoping for a safe and healthy arrival of your niece!!!
Dawn...congrats on your niece. Hope she arrives safe and sound and healthy! And don't be embarrased how you broke your toe. My mom broke hers tripping over her own shoe (which I almost did today but caught myself!) And she always used to yell at us for having our shoes in the middle of the walkway---you know somebody could trip on them!:rotfl: She was pretty embarrased!
