Oh WOW - first off, I just have to say those ultrasound pix are amazing! I'm always so amazed by them. I look at my two girls and I can't believe they were once that tiny -- and inside of me!:goodvibes
Great pix from DHS! Boy, it did look cold! If it was that chilly during the day, I can only imagine what it like after dark during the Osbourne Lights. If I remember correctly, they sell some hot toddies to keep you warm!
BTW - also loved Luke's Cars' hat and mittens. So cute!

so i FINALLY got all my pics and video uploaded. if you don't know who the killers are and don't care, please just skip this. if you don't know who they are and are curious and like good music....then keep reading. if you know who they are and are a fan....definitely keep reading!
here's a pic of them in case you're not familiar. you will see we were in nosebleed so you can't really tell what the band looks like from our videos and pictures.
http://i480.photobucket.com/albums/rr161/marychiefs/killers.jpg
they are from the las vegas area and their first big hit was "mr. brightside," so that may ring a few bells. brandon flowers, the lead singer, is an amazing performer and, surprisingly for a rock star, is a very devout mormon who is married with one child. he's really cute too. and the only guy i know of who i think looks hot in eyeliner. see?
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d137/emmawalsh123/brandon.png
although i don't think he's been wearing it lately.
anyway, on to our evening!
of course we took lots of pics. anna is the picture queen! she takes way more than i do, believe it or not.
getting ready to leave my house....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/Pic111.jpg
anna and chris ready to go....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/Pic108.jpg
i have to look nice for brandon. :rotfl2:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/Pic110.jpg
ray stayed home. he hates big crowds and despises going to concerts, so i'm nice and don't make him. he got a new video game on friday so he was occupied. here are the boys begging him for some pizza.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/Pic003.jpg
and enjoying said pizza....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/Pic114.jpg
we were gonna leave around 4:30 and go to wolfgang puck express for dinner, but chris couldn't get off in time so we didn't leave until around 6:30 and we stopped at the BP for a sandwich out of the to-go area. big difference! :rotfl:
here's the opening band, M83. they were okay - very techno-y.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/Pic119.jpg
like i said, we had nosebleed seats, about 3 rows from the back. i didn't mind though. anna bought them awhile after they were released (we didn't know about the show until later) and so all the good seats were sold out. actually, the entire venue was sold out for the show!
i texted heather (hlrababy) to see if she was there as we were walking in. she was and she ended up texting me later to tell me they were on teh 3rd row!!!!!! while we were waiting in line to get a drink she texted me again and said there were 4 empty seats next to them and if no one showed up we could borrow their tickets and use them. i was like.....:hyper: OF COURSE!!!!!!! well, right before the show started people showed up. oh, well! heather and i made plans to meet after the show.
this is me and anna waiting for the show to start. we were bored.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/Pic122.jpg
being silly! when we took this we were laughing so hard!!!!! see that girl behind us? she was SO OBNOXIOUS during the show. she was SCREAMING the songs in my ear and her voice was just horrible. don't get me wrong - i sing at concerts. it's hard not to. but keep it low so that the people around me can't really hear it. this girl was SCREAMING!!!!!! i looked at her a couple of times and she finally ended up kinda quietening down later.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/Pic125.jpg
finally the show started!!!!!!!!!!!!! i will just post the pictures. i took lots more but i'm just posting the decent ones.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/Pic169.jpg
they ended the show with "when you were young" and near the end after he sings, "they say the devil's water, it ain't so sweet, you don't have to drink right now, but you can dip your feet, every once in a little while" he screams, "SING ME A LULLABY!!!!!" and then these sparklers fell down. so awesome!

now for the videos!!!! i took LOTS of videos. please forgive the bounciness. i can't help myself when i hear music. plus i was as zoomed in as i could be and when i'm so zoomed in any little movement looks really bad. and i really wasn't singing very loudly. my camera was right in front of my face so it sounds loud. i realize i can't carry a tune to save my life so please ignore my singing!
they opened the show with "spaceman," which is the only song my sister wanted to hear. so when i realized what it was, i had to get my phone out quickly and call her. you can hear me say, "it's spaceman!!!!" :rotfl:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/th_Pic085.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/?action=view¤t=Pic085.flv)
"somebody told me"
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/th_2-TR-somebodytoldme.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/?action=view¤t=2-TR-somebodytoldme.flv)
"this is your life" listen for the people behind me singing. it was SO LOUD!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/th_04-TR-thisisyourlife.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/?action=view¤t=04-TR-thisisyourlife.flv)
"bling" i love the lights on the background screen in this one!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/th_05-TR-bling.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/?action=view¤t=05-TR-bling.flv)
"human" this is the single that's out on the radio right now. again, great lights on the background!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/th_08-TR-human.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/?action=view¤t=08-TR-human.flv)
"mr. brightside" this video is awful because i was dancing so much - sorry! oh, and this is the one and only time i screamed while i was singing when i scream "it was only a kiss!" but it sounds REALLY loud because my camera was right in front of my face.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/th_11-TR-mrbrightside.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/?action=view¤t=11-TR-mrbrightside.flv)
"all these things that i've done" this was such a great song! i love how they put the words up behind them. for some reason my phone was acting odd so it stopped recording twice. at the end of the first video and at the beginning of the second one you can see the confetti coming down.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/th_12-TR-allthesethings1.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/?action=view¤t=12-TR-allthesethings1.flv)
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/th_13-TR-allthesethings2.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/?action=view¤t=13-TR-allthesethings2.flv)
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/th_14-TR-allthesethings3.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/?action=view¤t=14-TR-allthesethings3.flv)
"jenny was a friend of mine" this was during the encore and we had moved down to the exit area, so we were closer. again, my camera stopped recording for some reason.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/th_16-TR-jenny.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/?action=view¤t=16-TR-jenny.flv)

"when you were young" they closed the show with this. it's one of ray's favorites so i called him and i had put my camera in my pocket. well, when the sparklers came down, i got my camera out and got the rest of the song. i wish i would've gotten the whole thing!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/th_18-TR-whenyouwereyoung.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/?action=view¤t=18-TR-whenyouwereyoung.flv)
here's a better one i found on you tube so you can see the whole thing. it was so awesome.

some other good videos i got of the show off you tube:
"i can't stay" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DX0cCKRKWN8
"human" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcK0CHVOr_M
after the show i called heather and she met me in the lobby. she was so sweet!!!!! i'm so glad we met.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/726183023406_0_BG.jpg
she said she thought the show was really good too. i'm glad she enjoyed it - i love when people discover new music! anyway, we stood there for awhile and talked about hollie (her DD) and luke and just had a good time. then they started to lock the doors so we had to go.
i'm so glad i got to meet you, heather! :goodvibes
after that we went to taco cabana to have a real dinner and then headed home. i got to bed pretty late and we slept in on saturday. i got up to use the bathroom and when i came back to get my phone off my night stand look what i found.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/Pic100.jpg

check him out!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/killers/Pic101.jpg
he thinks he's a person and not a dog, i swear!
anyway, that was our night. we had a lot of fun and i'm SO glad i finally got to see them live! i've been wanting to since 2004 but something's always happening when they come through town and i can't go. it was a GREAT show! :thumbsup2

You got some awesome pictures despite being so far back! The videos were awesome too. I read that update right before I had to go to class, so I had to listen to them on the way to school, and on the way home.
I LOVE the picture of Sherman under the covers, with his head on your pillow. :rotfl: I used to let my dog sleep on my bed, but I had to stop because I always woke up with him sleeping ON my legs, even though I have a queen bed and there was plenty of room. :confused3 It got really tiresome so now he has his own bed made up of old blankets and a pillow. He does frequently use the pillow like a person, which cracks me up.

That's so cool that you got to see your fave band after so many years plus you met Heather! That's awesome. I have no clue who the heck these guys are though. Haha, Dawn...you're gonna think I'm a crazy nut. But I just read your update from the concert before I went to bed last night....which is the reason I had a dream with you in it! :rotfl2: You, Ray, and Sherman all flew up to stay with me...why I don't know. We went to a party or something while Sherman stayed at my house. And then you and Ray had to hurry and leave to catch your flight to go somewhere else and left Sherman with me..And I didn't realize he was still there until after you left, so I hurried and called your cell phone and you were like "Yeah Ray says that we can just pick Sherman up when we come back before we fly home." Wow...that was the oddest dreams ever! :lmao:

just got these from my brother. his baby is due on april 12th but they don't think jordan (the mother) is going to last that long because her cervix is already thinning. they had a 4-D ultrasound done awhile back and i've been waiting on these for awhile now!
i can't wait to meet her! :goodvibes
Somehow I missed the ultrasound pictures earlier.
She looks a lot like Isabella right now! :rotfl:
I hope to meet her someday, too. She and 'Bella Rie' will born right around the same time, or should be, if yours doesn't come early.
Did I miss her name, or do you know yet, or did you say and I've forgotten?

thanks! i know - i've been listening to them all week. i even listened to "hot fuss" today when i went running. it gets me motivated! :)
we have 2 dogs and 1 queen-sized bed and they BOTH sleep with us. well, eli sometimes does. it depends on how cold it is. if it's nice or hot outside he'll sleep under the bed. but if it's cold he's in the bed with us. and sherman has ALWAYS slept with us. i spoil them, i know.

kick sherman out of the bed??? :rotfl2: you want a fight on your hands, then kick sherman out of the bed! that dog has slept with us for the last 11 years. i don't know what he'd do if we kicked him out of the bed. my mom recently bought a new house and she was really pretty, shiny wooden floors and i told her we'd stay with my grandmother because we had the dogs with us. she said, "well, we can put them in the garage" and i was like....:lmao: um...yeah....right. do you want to get any sleep???? they're beagles - they will bark all night long because they know they're supposed to be in the bed with us!
no, that girl wasn't by herself. she was with the two guys that were behind us. they were singling really loud too but she was the worst one. they all had potty mouths too. i don't mind cussing - i mean i do it at times, too. but i don't scream it in public. so classy!
you really should check out the killers! i bet you'd like them.
Oh how awesome that you went to the Killers show!! Thanks for all the pics and videos. I have tickets for their May 8th show in NJ and now that I've heard how great the show is I am even more excited!

Did I miss her name, or do you know yet, or did you say and I've forgotten?
yes, her name is margot (pronounced "mar-go") raine. i'm not crazy about it but i'm sure it will grow on me. jordan doesn't think she's going to last until april 12th (her due date). with maddie, her 5-year-old, she went early and she's already thinning so the doctor wants to see her once a week now.

Luke is a cutie! His expression when he got Pluto was priceless. pluto:
Can you imagine what that 'man' would think of his pic here on the DIS for all to see in a border of flowers & fairies....:rotfl2:
How cool you got to go to a great concert with friends. What a nice wife you are to let Ray stay home and play his game. By the way you looked very pretty. Cute top.
Your pup on the pillow is adorable, how could you kick him out. Those brown eyes can get you to do anything, admit it.;)

Okay, well Chad has laughed at me all day! We took Hollie to the dentist and I start belting out at the top of my lungs, "Smile like you mean it", and "All these things that I've done!" Yeah, he thinks I am crazy!!:rotfl2:
if you like those two songs you need to go buy "hot fuss" right now! such a great CD. it was their first CD and those two are on it.
You are SO lucky to have such good friends that love the same things you do and want to go with ya!! :goodvibes
i'm just lucky that they invite me to go with them! they usually are the ones to say, "let's go do this." and ray is always invited. he's just a homebody, which i'm actually grateful for.
How FREAKIN' cute is THAT!!!!! :upsidedow

yeah, heather was so sweet! and sherman is very cute - that's why he's spoiled!

i loved those pluto pics of luke!
that's why i blocked out his eyes - just in case! you never know who you're gonna see on the disboards. although i doubt he's here just because he had no idea what photopass was from the way he was acting.
thanks for your compliment! you're sweet. yes, we had fun. and i always let ray do what he wants. i have lots of friends who make their hubbies do stuff they don't want to do and i don't get it. he doesn't make me do things i don't want to do. and i used to be that way, but he would tell me how the guys would complain about how their wives made them come to whatever event we were at and i didn't want to be one of those wives! but that's what works for us - some people are different.
yes, sherman is spoiled! he's such a cutie - i can't help it.
i'm so excited about my niece! she'll be here pretty soon!

we have 2 dogs and 1 queen-sized bed and they BOTH sleep with us. well, eli sometimes does. it depends on how cold it is. if it's nice or hot outside he'll sleep under the bed. but if it's cold he's in the bed with us. and sherman has ALWAYS slept with us. i spoil them, i know.
yes, her name is margot (pronounced "mar-go") raine. i'm not crazy about it but i'm sure it will grow on me.
They know they are loved - of course they belong right there with you! That's a very sweet picture.
I remember you saying the baby's name now. As soon as I read it again, I remembered it.
Jill went to the doctor today. All is well. I'm not crazy about Isabella for a name, either. It's a pretty name, but it's such a popular name for girls right now, and I like less common names. I'm sure she'll either end up being the perfect Isabella, and I wouldn't be able to picture her with any other name, or we'll end up calling her a nickname. Brooklynn calls her Bella Rie, so she'll probably end up being Bella.

i forgot to include this picture in the last update. i think anna took it around the time they got those photopass pics in the last update taken. it's so cute!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/01-6.jpg
so anna, chris and luke were heading to ToT to meet ray and i. we had already ridden but we wanted to go again with them. none of them had ever ridden it. the tower looms ahead.......
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/02-6.jpg
now there was pretty much no question that luke wouldn't be riding this. he met the height requirement but anna didn't want to scare him from riding anything else and she just wasn't sure about it. so she definitely wanted to try it first without him (which of course he never did ride - it's just too intense for him). so as we walked up to the standby line (which was about 40 minutes, but i don't think we even waited 5 minutes before we got into the preshow - i have no clue what's up with that!), she told the CM at the measuring thing that we wanted to do a child swap. i had never done a swap before and so i wasn't sure how this worked. he said to tell the CM near the elevator.
we got in line. this is me watching the video that ray had taken on his iphone a few minutes earlier. i can't believe he lost it when he had to reformat his phone!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/03-6.jpg
the tower peeks through the creepy trees!!!!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/04-6.jpg
ray decided to hop up here. i don't know what gets into him sometimes! he's randomly crazy.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/05-6.jpg
as you can see, there's no one around. for some reason the line was just non-existant. i guess everyone was at TSM!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/06-6.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/07-6.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/08-6.jpg
we get up to the CM who puts you into the preshow room and i told him we had a child swap and he said for us to tell the CM who actually puts us on the elevator. this was fine but i wonder why they do it this way? that pre-show can be really creepy to kids. it just seems odd that they put them through that and freak them out!
anyway, we went into the preshow and chris was holding luke and i told him it was a really short, silly movie that we were gonna watch. his little eyes looked so worried looking around the creepy room! but he did okay.
when we got into the next line he started asking questions. i had volunteered to watch him first while ray, anna and chris rode and we told him that mommy, daddy and gray (that's what he calls ray) were gonna go on the crazy elevator and that him and me were gonna go wait for them at the end, that he had nothing to worry about.
so finally we get up there and i tell the CM that we're doing a child swap and he sent me and luke to wait over in the middle area between the two lines. chris was carrying luke so he just handed him over to me. a few seconds later the doors in front of luke and i open and a CM comes out with a couple of people, then tells us to get on the elevator with him. luke is kinda freaked out this whole time and he grabs me and looks at me with this worried look and says, "is this a crazy elevator?????" :lmao: so cute!!!!! i told him no, that this was a normal elevator and that we were gonna meet mommy and daddy after they got off the crazy one. the CM thought it was really cute that he asked that. :goodvibes
anna took this while waiting to get on the crazy elevator....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/09-6.jpg
being scared!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/10-6.jpg
after luke and i got off the elevator, the CM showed us where to stand once i was ready to come back up and so then we headed into that hallway you come into after you get off the ride and found a seat on the wall. it was right next to where you view the pictures. while we're sitting there a bunch of pop warner cheerleaders get off at once and they were SO LOUD!!!!!!! :cheer2: that was really the only time during the whole trip that i noticed them though.
a few seconds later my phone rang and it was ray. i put it on speaker so luke could hear and he started laughing because he could hear anna screaming. it was cute.
here's the redneck picture of anna, chris and ray. they're in the middle row on the right side. i don't know what anna's hand is doing!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/11-6.jpg
so then it was my turn! ray stayed with luke this time and anna, chris and me headed back over to where the CM had told me to wait. a few seconds later the elevator door opened up and the CM unloaded a couple of people and then took us back up. we got on the ride within seconds. this child swap thing is great! :thumbsup2
me and anna planned how we were gonna "pose" and we got chris in on it, too. i love this picture.....it's one of my favorites from the trip! chris is supposed to be sleeping but you can't tell. we're just gripping each other in fear and screaming our heads off!!! :rotfl:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/12-6.jpg
i think i called erica during this ride. :upsidedow so both my hands were occupied - one holding my phone and the other one gripped on anna. well, that was the first time i'd ever ridden without holding on to the handles and it was AWESOME!!!!! every time we'd drop i'd come out of my seat like at least 6 inches. so fun! and so scary at the same time. :p

it was around 12:15 at this point and we had 12:50 ADRs at sci-fi dine-in theater, so we started to head that way. as you can see, the sun was coming out and it was turning into a pretty day! it was still chilly though.

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/20-6.jpg
notice ray's shirt. i bought that for him when i came with erica last september. the storm trooper is eating a mickey ice cream bar and it says, "get a taste of the dark side." he loves that shirt.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/21-5.jpg
as anna, chris and luke walked up to get their photopass pics made, luke again wasn't having it. he was trying to hide behind them! :rotfl2:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/22-5.jpg
they knelt down to try to get him to be in the picture but he kept hiding behind chris.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/23-5.jpg
then he peeked through and the photopass guy caught it! it was cute! he's wearing chris's sunglasses here. :cool2:

thanks! yeah, that sky was so pretty.
beagles are just so sweet!!!! i have to tell you the story of how we came to own a beagle. when i was 18 and ray was 22 we were both working at a restaurant in downtown nashville (we had been dating almost a year). well, on the weekends we wouldn't get off until really late and we'd usually have to be there by 10:00 the next morning, so instead of driving all the way back to the town we both lived in, which was about 40 minutes away, we'd go to my dad's house because he lived about 10 minutes from downtown. i would sleep with my sister and ray would sleep in my room. ray has insomnia (always has) and one night he couldn't sleep and the only movies he could find were my brother and sister's disney movies. they were only 8 and 11 at the time. he had never seen "the fox and the hound" before so he watched it. the next day we were at work and looking at the sunday paper and he goes, "where are the classifieds? i want to get a dog?" he already had two dogs (a pug and a mutt) so i was like, huh??? he said, "i want a HOUUUUUUNNNNND DOG!" just like copper says in the movie! it was so cute. we found an add for beagle puppies for $40, so that afternoon we went and bought our first beagle. we had to get a girl because his other two dogs were girls and we named her lucy. his mom was like NO WAY, that we had to get rid of her but she fell in love with her within a week. in fact, when ray moved out, he was going to take lucy and his mom was like, "um.....no! that's my dog." lucy is still with us - she's almost 15 years old, but in really bad health. she's such a sweet girl!
when ray and i got our first apartment together, we had to have a beagle again so that's when we got sherman. anyway, that's our beagle story! :goodvibes
it snowed there??? aren't you guys near the beach? we haven't gotten ANYTHING!
the pic of Sherman lying there under your blanket is too precious. he is adorable.

thanks! yeah, that sky was so pretty.
beagles are just so sweet!!!! i have to tell you the story of how we came to own a beagle. when i was 18 and ray was 22 we were both working at a restaurant in downtown nashville (we had been dating almost a year). well, on the weekends we wouldn't get off until really late and we'd usually have to be there by 10:00 the next morning, so instead of driving all the way back to the town we both lived in, which was about 40 minutes away, we'd go to my dad's house because he lived about 10 minutes from downtown. i would sleep with my sister and ray would sleep in my room. ray has insomnia (always has) and one night he couldn't sleep and the only movies he could find were my brother and sister's disney movies. they were only 8 and 11 at the time. he had never seen "the fox and the hound" before so he watched it. the next day we were at work and looking at the sunday paper and he goes, "where are the classifieds? i want to get a dog?" he already had two dogs (a pug and a mutt) so i was like, huh??? he said, "i want a HOUUUUUUNNNNND DOG!" just like copper says in the movie! Awww. That is too cute! it was so cute. we found an add for beagle puppies for $40, so that afternoon we went and bought our first beagle. we had to get a girl because his other two dogs were girls and we named her lucy. his mom was like NO WAY, that we had to get rid of her but she fell in love with her within a week. in fact, when ray moved out, he was going to take lucy and his mom was like, "um.....no! that's my dog." lucy is still with us - she's almost 15 years old, but in really bad health. she's such a sweet girl! Our fur babies are close in age! My Boo Boo turns 16 March 8th!
when ray and i got our first apartment together, we had to have a beagle again so that's when we got sherman. anyway, that's our beagle story! :goodvibes
Now you guys live with Sherman...:rotfl2: Not the other way around. You can look at him and tell he's rotten! :goodvibes
it snowed there??? aren't you guys near the beach? we haven't gotten ANYTHING!
Yep. I found a you tube video someone took of it snowing at the beach...have you ever been here? The Boardwalk is close to where the Pavilion used to be. This is not my video but it shows the snow...

we were finally called to our table at sci-fi. when we checked in it was only about 12:40 and our ADR wasn't until 12:50. she asked if we wanted a car or a table because they had a table available right then. i knew that luke would love to sit in a car so i opted to wait. they didn't call us until almost 1:00, but it wasn't a big deal since anna, etc. walked over to the streets of america and then ray, chris and luke walked over to the star tours area.
i just love this place! the atmosphere is so cool.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/01-7.jpg
looking right from our car....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/02-7.jpg
this is the area where the servers go to get the food and everything.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/03-7.jpg
ray and i took the back seat, chris sat in the middle and anna took the front. luke kind of floated between chris and anna during the meal and he thought the car was so cool!
i think the coolest thing -- besides the car you sit in, the cheesy old sci-fi clips and the feeling of being in a real drive-in theater -- is the fact that it's so QUIET in there. there is a very low hum of people talking but nothing like a normal restaurant. i guess all the kids that would normally be making noise are mesmerized by what's on the screen in front of them. luke didn't make a peep the whole time!

luke was SO into the clips they were showing. it was cute!

our server's name was nicole and i've had better service, but she was SUPER nice! and i know as an ex-server that sometimes you just get really busy and can't give the service you always want to. luke ordered a drink with a light-up glow cube so he could have one of his own!

ray and i decided we wanted to try one of the grown-up shakes that i'd heard such good things about. we each ordered one and we both ended up getting marsha's martian - chocolate and vanilla shakes mixed with bailey's irish cream and kahlua. it's funny because we usually like different things when it comes to shakes and ice cream and the like!
with flash....

OH MY GOODNESS....this was the BEST shake i've ever had!!!!!! it was so good. highly recommended! :thumbsup2
we tried to get this picture for the longest time and luke wouldn't turn around - he was so wrapped up in the clips they were showing! finally, when he did turn around, chris wasn't looking at the camera! :lmao:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/15-6.jpg
our food came out pretty quickly. luke ordered pizza and it came with carrots and apple slices.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/16-7.jpg
i think everyone else ordered varying kinds of burgers. mine was loaded with mushrooms, onions and swiss cheese. YUM!!!!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/17-7.jpg
nicole and luke hit it off right away - she was super nice!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/18-7.jpg
she offered to take our picture in the car....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/19-7.jpg
one more time with no bar in front of anna's face!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/20-7.jpg
we all enjoyed our food! this place gets mixed reviews as far as the food goes but i think if you just stick with the basics - burgers, fries and shakes - you can't go wrong. the burger i had here was really, really good!
anna wanted me to get a picture of chris and her making out at the drive-in! i hate that this came out blurry.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/21-6.jpg
ray and i then showed what an old married couple does at the drive-in! :lmao:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/22-6.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/23-6.jpg
as soon as we got the bill i sent ray on his way to get fastpasses to RNRC for us to use later and told him to call me when he was heading back our way. as we were leaving nicole wanted to give luke a hug goodbye - he wasn't too sure about that! :rotfl:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/24-6.jpg
he finally gave in. well, sort of! :p

oh, and notice the little piece of paper luke is holding? he got a license from nicole! very cute touch.

What fun photos you took at Sci-Fi!
We had a great time there too, when we went for lunch in January. Except guess what! Remember I asked you to check if the chocolate tart was still on the menu, and it was? Well, it was gone by the time we got there! Auuhhhh! We had a delicious peanut butter cake instead, but it was no chocolate tart... :sad1:
Hehee, anyway. Thanks for another fun installment!

I was like O M G okay...I want to eat now. :rotfl2: It's not like I tip better or worse because you have kids...geez...you earn the money I don't give a :p what or who you spend it on. :lmao:

You bet I'll post a picture of her in her dress! My kids will be 10, 8 and 4 when we go to WDW in November so I don't think I let him "watch" them while me and DH rode, maybe if he was 12 I would but my mom is supposed to be coming with us, she was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (I had said this on the Peep thread, don't know if you heard) so we have to see how she's feeling at that point to go.

And how long have you been married? Not too long, because you're strangling him. That happens between 5-10 years. I'f you're married as long as me, you'd be in the front seat and he'd be in the back!:lmao:
oh, the food was better than so-so! it was good!!! you just have to stick to the basics, i think. your kids will love the car.
ray and i got married in april 2002, so this april will be 7 years. but we've been together since december 1993. so that's 15 years....almost half my life! :scared1:
What fun photos you took at Sci-Fi!
We had a great time there too, when we went for lunch in January. Except guess what! Remember I asked you to check if the chocolate tart was still on the menu, and it was? Well, it was gone by the time we got there! Auuhhhh! We had a delicious peanut butter cake instead, but it was no chocolate tart... :sad1:
Hehee, anyway. Thanks for another fun installment!
i can't believe they got rid of it!!!! i'm so sorry. i'm almost positive it was on there when we were there.
Glad that you had a positive experience at Sci-Fi! We too, had a good experience when we went there. But then again, we only had burgers and shakes. :goodvibes THOSE SHAKES you had sound like they were so good! I'm really thinking I might have to check those out next time! ;)
yes, that shake was awesome!
Great review of Sci-Fi. I love the pictures of Luke just mesmerized by what is on the screen. Too cute!
thanks! he was so into the old movies!
Darling outfits, especially the dress. I love the Sci-Fi pictures. I am trying to see if we can fit it in this trip.
thanks! it's a cute place. your girls would like it! it's really good for lunch because it's a nice, dark, cool escape from the hot sun, especially in the summer! plus i think their lunch menu is way better than their dinner menu. i scheduled our lunch for around 1:00 so it would be good timing to sit and watch the block party afterwards at 3:00.
We loved Sci-Fi and it's cheesy movie clips! You got some great photos of the inside! :thumbsup2
us too! i think it's just a neat little place. thanks!
That grown-up shake sounds really good; I'm going to have to attempt to recreate that at home sometime.
I was laughing so much at the picture of you and Ray as an old married couple. :rotfl2: The picture of Luke being mesmerized is so cute!
oh, let me know if you recreate it and how it turns out! ray and i aren't much for PDAs so i felt that picture was appropriate! :rotfl2: i love him but i like to show my affection in private. ;)
Oh Sci-Fi looks good!!
it was!
Hi Dawn. I know, I know, I'm late as usual but I'm here now.
Sci Fi is a must do every time we take first timers. It's so Disney. And I learned a long time ago that those adult milk shakes are the best thing going there. :rotfl2:
oh, i don't care if you're late - you're here and that's all that matters! thanks for joining in. i agree about going there for first-timers. anna, chris and especially luke thought this was so cool!
Hmm, Sci-Fi has never really appealed much to me but your burger looks so good and the shake sounds delicious!!
Can't wait to hear all about Block Party...I love it!
oh, your boys would LOVE sci-fi! the whole atmosphere is great for kids. they show horror movie clips but they're all really silly and not scary. and as long as you stick to burgers and shakes, you're good!

I enjoyed your report and photos of Sci-Fi. We ate there for the first time in December. I was really excited for my kids to eat there, but my son was scared of the clips! :sad2: He put his head down the whole time and wouldn't even eat. I did notice how quiet it was in there. I liked that.

love the Sci-Fi pictures--We went for the first time last summer and had a good time as well!
thanks! yeah, it's a great little place. glad you guys liked it!
OK...I think I'm all caught. Great updates. I Love the picture of you and Anna on TOT. So funny.
I love the picture of Luke all mesmerized by the screen in Sci Fi. I will definitely be getting one of those shakes...in 2 years!! :hyper:
thanks! you sound like me....we're not going back until december 2010 and i'm counting the days!
Great report! you guys always do a great TR!!! :cheer2:
thanks so much! :goodvibes
We love Sci Fi! It's a must do for lunch every time. I don't care for the dinner menu though. I think that may be the same woman we had too. Did she keep on and on about her kids at home? It go so bad I was annoyed. It's like she wanted us to tip her better so her babies would be taken care of. I was like O M G okay...I want to eat now. :rotfl2: It's not like I tip better or worse because you have kids...geez...you earn the money I don't give a :p what or who you spend it on. :lmao:
Luke looks mesmerized in all these pics. He liked it a lot didn't he? ;)
The picture of the guys is funny. They look bored to tears. And the ones of you guys strangling one another....classic! :goodvibes
ray and i went for dinner in may 2007 and i asked if we could get burgers because we didn't want what was on the dinner menu - they said that was fine. good to know in case you can't get a lunch ADR! our server didn't mention her kids that i heard, but i could be wrong. she was so focused on luke that i didn't hear everything she said since he was in the front and we were in the back. she did forget to bring me a glass of water so i just got my dasani water bottle out and was drinking it. she noticed and was soooooo apologetic that she forgot my water. i don't get frustrated by that kinda thing so i told her it wasn't a big deal. she brought me some more water anyway though!
yes, luke LOVED it! a few days after we got back i was over at anna's house and he goes, "dawn, i had fun at disney world. i loved that place with the cars." :goodvibes
as soon as anna took that picture with me, ray and chris in it she started laughing and goes, "look at our husbands!" they kill me.
Great update! It took me a while, but I'm caught up. (that's what happens when I don't read for a week) You've got me curious about the Killers. I'm going to have to watch the videos tomorrow. That lead singer is pretty dang cute!
Sherman is too cute on your pillow, and what a great story on how you got your first beagle. They are very cute dogs.
I'm going to check out the menu at Sci-Fi. That burger looked yummy!
thanks! yes, check out the killers! i bet you'd like them. brandon flowers is cute but very skinny. i hate those skinny jeans he wears but i know he's a rock star and he has to be fashionable. i think he'd look better in regular pants! but i have never liked those skinny jeans.....probably because you have to be SKINNY to wear them! :rotfl2: thanks about sherman and eli - they are my babies! sci-fi was great and the burgers were delicious!
Sci Fi looks so fun and that shake does sound delicious! Luke continues to be absolutely adorable!
it was a blast! i will definitely be back.
You bet I'll post a picture of her in her dress! My kids will be 10, 8 and 4 when we go to WDW in November so I don't think I let him "watch" them while me and DH rode, maybe if he was 12 I would but my mom is supposed to be coming with us, she was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (I had said this on the Peep thread, don't know if you heard) so we have to see how she's feeling at that point to go.
oh, okay. yeah, i knew about your mom. hope she continues to improve. i didn't realize she was planning to go with you guys. that will be so fun!
Another great update Dawn, Sci Fi looks like fun. I'll bet my DS would love it. Great pics as usual...I see a Hidden Mickey in the one above, did you (I don't mean Luke's plate, either)?
:cool1:
thanks! i bet your DS would love it, too! i do see it i think! are you talking about the mickey on the metal side step thing next to luke?
we should have stuck with the burgers when we went, our food was not that great, next time i will get a burger, minus your onions and mushrooms. yuk:scared:
yeah, stick to the burgers and shakes. they were really good! you sound like ray - he doesn't like onions and mushrooms either. or tomatoes. or any kind of food that's actually GOOD for you.
We loved Sci Fi in2007 even though I din't care for my shrimp asta sota blah , I loved the appeteizer dip and the oreo cookie milkshake !! I am going oop in May for a burger (just likeyours ) and a mikshake !!! Great update Dawn!
i'm sure you'll enjoy a burger from there! thanks.
Oh that shake looks fabulous!! I have only been to Sci-Fi once but I would go back for a shake in a heartbeat. I can't remember which one I had but it was wonderful. The light up glow cubes are so fun too, I save all mine and use them at home all the time.
it was soooo good! i have 4 of those glow cubes in my cabinet and use them when i need a little dose of disney! :upsidedow

thanks! i thought about that with luke but he seemed to just be amazed by them, not scared at all. i think it just depends on the kid. we just kept saying stuff about them being silly movies when he'd ask about what he was watching. plus the little cartoons between the clips makes it a little more kid-friendly. sorry about your DS. :guilty:

okay...i just need to vent here for a second.
i have a neighbor who told me on january 10th that she's going to disney february 18-23 and she heard i knew a lot about it and wanted me to help her. i remember the date because it was at our HOA meeting that she told me. anyways, she tells me that she booked deluxe dining and she hasn't made any reservations yet. :scared1: i know, right? so i proceeded to look up the hours and give her a suggested touring plan (like what parks on what days) and suggestions on ADRs. she informs me like 2 weeks later that she called and didn't get hardly any of the ones i suggested (duh - you're less than a month from your trip) and asks if she can e-mail me what she did get and see what i think. well, i wait and wait and i never got an e-mail. so last thursday i e-mailed her and reminded her to send me her list of ADRs so i could re-evaluate her park touring and make specific suggestions. STILL nothing from her!!!! :headache:
i just don't understand it. how hard is it to sit at your computer and reply to an e-mail? i mean, i don't care how she wants to do her trip but don't ask for my help and then ignore me. if she wants to have a miserable trip then it's not my fault - i tried to help.
i even got her in on a photopass share! i just hope she doesn't screw that up and forget to upload her pictures on her assigned day.
anyway.....i just had to get that off my chest. i feel better now. :rotfl2:

"Place with the cars..." that's too sweet. One day ya'll can do a girls w/ Luke thing. I think he's going to be a Disney freak like all of us! Ya think?
*That's good to know about the burgers. The lunch menu is great but dinner...eek. Not thanks. On DHS day we usually do Hollywood & Vine, Sci-Fi, and 50's Prime Time. We used to do Mama Melroses's but last time we ate their it tasted like frozen dinners...the .99 kind. (We had a great, fine looking server though. ;) )
Your neighbor is in for a shocker! Who knows...maybe she'll get there and get a bunch of walk ins. I know when I called the other night they had everything I asked for with tons of times to choose from. Maybe she called and wanted a certain time for every single meal? She better get in with you! It would make her vaca a lot better! I am planning August for my sister and Chimere too. I don't mind. I tell them the basics...how many credits it will take and then we make a plan. I think we'll be doing everything tomorrow. I have my stuff ready to go now! :goodvibes Planning is so much fun for me.

yeah, luke loves disney and he knows i do, too. he's always showing me when he gets a new mickey doll or something.
i'm thinking the reason she couldn't get anything is that they're going 2 days after president's day, which means it's gonna be pretty busy. not a slow time to go at all! and i told her that too. i just don't want to hear it when she gets back about how awful it was. it could've been better if you would've just let me help you!!!!! i love the planning too - helping other people plan is what's gonna get me through the next couple of years with not going myself!

Well, since we have met on Tammy's TR, I thought I should properly say hello and come out of lurkdom!:lmao: I have been reading your TRs for a long time! I think you do a great job and take some very creative pictures. I've really enjoyed following along.
As for your neighbor, I had the same thing happen with my neighbor. From the time we decided to plan a trip, I lived on the DIS every free moment that I had and I learned so much. My trip was fantastic! My neighbored just booked it and took off. I tried to tell her about all the stuff I learned but she didn't care. Her trip was awful! It was hot, crowded, and she didn't have ADRs during free dining.:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Not kidding! She basically admitted that she wasted her money on that trip b/c it was so miserable.
But she is not alone. The whole time we were at Disney (also during FD) people were walking up trying to get a table and then getting ticked off b/c it was full. One lady was determined that she was going to eat at CRT while we were checking in. The hostess told her that they are booked up EXACTLY 6 months in advance within 3 minutes of phone lines opening. The lady just stood there and then said, "So can we get a table?" DUHHHHHHHHH:rotfl: :lmao: Why do people spend that kind of money on a trip and then just wing it????? Insane! I am WAY too anal, OCD, and type A for that mess! My DH though he was in boot camp when we were there!:rotfl: I had my ducks in a very straight row!

i'm all for being spontaneous but not when it comes to disney. if you don't plan then you're gonna get there and have a miserable time because, first off, you won't have any ADRs (if that's something you want to do - eat good food), and, two, you won't have any idea what attractions to avoid at what times, what rides have fastpasses and the ones that don't, what's worth your time, how to get around, what the park hours are, which parks have EMHs........i could go on and on! i just don't understand it.
that's hilarious about the lady with CRT! unbelievable.

speaking of the devil.....
my neighbor e-mailed me a little while ago! she said she was sorry for not getting back to me but that work had been crazy and that she didn't have internet at home. so she's supposed to send me her ADR list tomorrow. i can't imagine planning a disney trip with no internet. poor girl. she just got elected to our HOA board (to take over my position as secretary) and i also can't imagine trying to keep up with all those HOA e-mails at work! that's just crazy.
so whatever. i'm still kinda frustrated with the situation but of course i'm still going to help her. i just hope she can salvage a decent trip out of it.
i had to share these with you guys! i was uploading some videos for our september TR and i had forgotten about this. this was taken in october at our house. anna, chris and luke were here and so was a neighbor friend of ours, john, and his daughter evelyn and son lex. we were playing rock band and john was singing "man in the box" by alice in chains. it was SO FUNNY! i had to record him. his vocals are.....well, you'll have to watch to see! he's a hoot! :rotfl2: you will also see chris playing guitar....with LOTS of enthusiam! :rotfl:
anna was doing a craft project with luke and evelyn - making pumpkins on paper plates with tissue paper. and then in the second video you will see at the end i walk into our bedroom, where i had "peter pan" playing for lex (his FAVORITE - he loves the crocodile!) and he had passed out with his glow necklaces watching the movie. it was so sweet - i had no idea he was asleep when i went in there! :goodvibes

Too funny!!! :rotfl: I love how his little girl comes in and looks up at him with bewilderment in her eyes. Like "what the heck is my dad doing?" :rotfl:
It is truly amazing how kids can sleep through t.v and loud music in the background. I could never do it.
The only thing that I can tell you about your neighbor is, is maybe she vacations differently than you do. Maybe she likes to be stressed out. ;) All you can do is what she allows you to do, and that's it. I think that a lot of people don't understand the dining plan and that you have to make ressies WAY in advance. I still think that a lot of folks don't even know that you have to MAKE ressies for table service meals. The reservation people should explain that to people when they call and book their trips with dining plans. Good luck with that!
Anna should have a craft show on HGTV! :thumbsup2

Good Sci-Fi pictures. Brooklynn got light up cubes, too, and we got a couple of those same cups. We've been there twice. The atmosphere is fun and it's something different, especially for kids.
Luke probably should get used to women wanting to hug him. He's a cutie, so that's going to happen to him a lot, I think.
I hope you can get your friend situated enough that she can have a good trip. Sounds like maybe she needs one.
That's a sweet video of the little guy sound asleep on the bed in spite all of the activity going on around him.

Love your updates! My family has thought I lost my mind as I have been planning this trip since we booked it back in August. All of my frustration trying to get through to book ADR's for 3 months and my crazy excitement when I finally got through and got every ADR I wanted, and then I let them in on some of the people I have met on DIS. Now they know that it is not just me!! :dance3: Anyway, I think I have planned the best I can but the one thing I can't seem to find anything on is what attractions to avoid at certain times or which parks are busiest on which days. Unfortunately we are there the week prior to Easter, but are actually leaving WDW on April 9th which is probably a good thing as it is right before Easter weekend. Do you have any advice on this? :confused3 The only day I can't fudge is the the 8th as that is DD's birthday and she has planned that whole day out.

 jordan said she's thinking about being induced on april 2nd. she's due april 12th but the doctor said he didn't think she'd last that long.
Well, if she can I hope she waits until she goes into labor. I think all this inducing being done now is not always necessary. No one really lets people just 'have' babies any more. If it's a medical reason, fine but if it's just b/c your Dr. won't be there the next week or you are miserable and tired of being pregnant then I think it should wait. It's all about 'convenience' now. I would just like to know what happened to what's best for the baby, not yourself. Not to mention they can always be off about your due date one way or the other. Will get off my soap-box now...I could talk forever about it. And sorry if I offended anyone....not my intentions :goodvibes
yep, that's when i called you. the other time i rode i called anna so this had to be the time i called you since anna was with me! i can't believe you didn't notice we were laughing hysterically the whole time. :rotfl2:

wednesday: hollywood & vine dinner
thursday: CP breakfast / garden grill dinner
friday: CP breakfast (again) / tony's dinner
saturday: tusker house breakfast / narcoosee's dinner
i tried to redo her schedule to make those ADRs work and there was no way. plus she wanted a princess meal. so i called last night and here's what i ended up getting her:
wednesday: kona cafe dinner
thursday: norway akershus lunch / tony's dinner
friday: kept the CP breakfast / 50's primetime cafe dinner
saturday: i kept the same because this worked for her schedule
there wasn't a lot to choose from! basically the CM just had to tell me what she had available each day because there were only a few!
her itinerary is:
wednesday: arrival / DHS day / epcot evening
thursday: epcot day / MK evening
friday: MK day / DHS evening
saturday: AK day / MK evening
sunday: DTD before they leave
so it's all good now! i hope she has fun. i know her little girl will appreciate the akershus lunch. i know the food there gets mixed reviews but i think the princesses were more important than the food for them at least for one meal.
It's CMs like these that make a trip really nice!
Good eye! I love finding those.
He sounds just like Layne Staley! :rotfl2:
i totally agree!
i actually didn't see that mickey until i was looking through our pictures.
sure he sounds like layne staley.....and i sound like aretha franklin. :lmao:
:thumbsup2
i know - i saw evelyn do that and thought the same thing! i thought lex was so cute snoozing in the bed while we were all having fun.
You are so sweet to help your neighbor! I don't think she realizes how important planning is. She'll realize when she finds she just can't walk into any restaurant she wants and won't be seated.
thanks! i love helping people with disney vacations. i think in another life i was a travel agent.
Another great update! The pictures all came out so good, Sci-Fi's such a fun place! I loved the video too!
And don't let the neighbor situation bother you. It's great that you can help her, but it's not worth getting stressed over. I'm sure she'll come around eventually when she has some time!
thanks! thanks! read above for an update about my neighbor.
great update and pics.
loved the married pics. :rotfl2:
the guys enjoying the restaurant pic was hysterical also.
Now remember not everyone is a Disney person.
I will not allow photopass shares on my site. I see as stealing from Disney personally. But that is just me.
Can't wait for more.
thanks! i love those married pics, too! i see your point on the photopass. but i also see the other side of it. i spent lots of money at disney this year and i don't feel that me getting a discount on a photopass CD is a big deal. AND i know that lots of people that would not otherwise buy the CD for $100 are getting a CD through a share and that means, when you look at the big picture, more CDs are likely being ordered than if these shares didn't exist because all these people in shares WOULDN'T be buying one for the full price. so actually disney is probably profiting off of it anyway. but i can also see what you're saying.
I can't imagine trying to plan a Disney trip with no internet! This is my first trip and I am totally obsessed. I just can't wait to try to make my adr's. I don't know what I would do if we got there and didn't have any. This is a little off Disney but I was thinking of getting my fiance, Mike Rock Band for Valentines Day. Is is totally awesome? And I am so jealous that you got to see The Killers. Someday I will go. I see that you had to wait a long time too.
i know! there's nothing wrong with not having internet - it would just be so difficult to try to plan anything like this. but if you've never known any different than maybe it's not a big deal.
and yes, rock band is totally awesome. you guys will love it. i'm not a video game person and i really love it!
That's a sweet video of the little guy sound asleep on the bed in spite all of the activity going on around him.
thanks! yeah, i think that about luke, too. anna's gonna have a lot to deal with in a few years!!!
lex asleep on the bed was so cute. i really had no idea he was asleep in there. i thought he was watching peter pan!
:confused3 The only day I can't fudge is the the 8th as that is DD's birthday and she has planned that whole day out.
thanks! congrats on your upcoming trip! i would recommend either tourguidemike.com or touringplans.com. those are the two that i've heard good things about. i think you have to pay for both but it's not a lot and from what i've heard it's worth it. i like tourguidemike but i think i may try touringplans next time because tourguidemike is hard to navigate sometimes. and if you're not an early riser (and i'm not!) his plans really don't work that well for you.
And sorry if I offended anyone....not my intentions :goodvibes
with maddie she went into labor 6 weeks early. so i know she won't be lasting until her due date. i have a feeling april 2nd is not even going to be an issue because she's already having contractions and they're watching her VERY closely right now. keep her in your prayers. ;)
:rotfl: funny!
That's prob exactly how Matt would be!
:rotfl:
YUMMY!!!! I need to have one of those....might try and make that this summer :thumbsup2
it was so good!!!!
you know this picture cracks me up!
it just fits us. :rotfl2:

Ok I have to come clean with my fellow DISers. I too have gone to Disney and have not planned. We just ate whereever, I did make ressie's for Chef Mickey's though but that was before I knew about the DIS boards. Now being on the boards for awhile I wouldn't think of even trying to do Disney they I did almost 5 years ago. We're going to Disney in Nov and I'm already putting things in my head where we should eat, now I have to wait until 90 days out to make ressie's but I will have it all on paper before then, so I'm prepared. Some people just don't understand but we all know better, don't we ;)
Dawn - thanks for the video's, John does sound just like him. Thanks for sharing. Oh and Chris looks like he's having a lot of fun too :lmao:

Spoken like a woman who has never been 8 months pregnant in the dog-heat of the summer! :lmao:
Just teasing you Erica! I was finally induced with my first at 4 days overdue because my blood pressure was rising fast and he was showing NO signs of leaving soon. My second was a scheduled C-section and he decided to arrive 1 1/2 weeks early. Little unpredictable buggers!

Oh girl, I feel your pain! Jake was due September 13 and that whole summer was MISERABLE! Especially August! My doctor did not want to schedule me for an induction until I was 2 weeks overdue, so finally she went ahead and scheduled one for September 24th and wouldn't you know? Had to say the new guy I am dating just moved here in November, so we plan to it the Aquarium one of these days - I've never been. IKEA - bought quite a bit of my apt furniture there. I was downtown an hour before the Olympic bombing. My camera - Kodak - has a night setting and it does the same thing, has to stay steady, so I am considering getting a Gorillapod...heard they are great, will wrap around railings and such so you don't have to have a flat surface to put it on.
Okay...will finish reading another day.

TWO WEEKS :scared1: I about kissed my OB when he suggested it at only 4 days overdue.
My second was born Sep 17 and August was terrible!! We have AC in our house but it is an old system and doesn't cool the upstairs very well. One night I was exhausted and in tears because I was so hot and miserable when I went to bed. My darling hubby went out to the store and bought and installed a window AC in our bedroom. He did all this without waking me up. I didn't even notice until I got up in the middle of the night (preggo lady bladder :sad2: ), and walked out into the hallway and realized how much cooler it was in our room. He was Husband of the Year for me!

Those are the people who come back and say "never again" because of the long lines, etc. I was just reading a thread on TGM about a band group booked with a clueless tour company - feel really bad for those people, they're getting really ripped off, but won't listen to the gal who's trying to tell them.

You are such a good friend to your neighbor. People like that make me crazy! They just don't get it; and worse, then they come back from Disney complaining about how bad it was. thanks for your good thoughts about my tooth. it doesn't hurt - it's just annoying! the way it cracked it's kind of jagged on the side that rubs the inside of my cheek so i have to be careful about it rubbing against there. and of course i have to watch food getting caught in there. fun! i can't wait to have these pulled. i don't think i ever thought i'd hear myself say that. i have a consult with an oral surgeon on march 5th so hopefully it won't be long before they're gone!
i would tell you all happy valentine's day but i'd feel like a hyprocrit. ray and i haven't celebrated v-day for about 10 years now. neither of us "get" it. i don't like the thought of my husband expressing his love for me on the same day that everyone else in america is doing it. plus i think that should be done every day. and i don't like how the holiday exlcludes you if you're not married to or dating anyone. that just doesn't seem fair to me. i do think it's fun for the kids because they get to make the little valentine's cards and pass them around - that's always so cute! but for me i just don't feel the need to get into it. maybe i'm odd! :confused3
so i hope you all had a very good saturday!!! :goodvibes
should have an update in the next day or two. i'm finishing up my rush transcript tonight/tomorrow morning - have an hour of audio left (about 3 hours of actual typing in real life). then i have to proof it so once that's done i can come back to my normal life.

You're not weird on the V-Day thing. DH and I have been married for 11 years and we don't celebrate it anymore either. The last time we did was over 10 years ago. We went to a nice restaurant and waited 2 hours for a seat, then waited another hour for our food which came out burned. So we avoid the mobs who go out on V-Day and we stay home. We had fun with DD doing the cards for her friends, but we don't feel the need to celebrate love on just one day either:lovestruc  . We all three got in the kitchen last night and cooked Spaghetti w/ salad and bread and then watched a Disney movie! :cool1: :woohoo: :yay: Soooo much better than waiting for hours in a crowded restaurant!:thumbsup2 So we don't "get it" either!:lmao:

We are the same way about Valentines Day. It just seems crazy to spent triple the $$$ buy flowers or chocolate on one day! It means so much more when it happens for no reason at all!!
So I wish you a happy Sunday!:goodvibes

I guess I'm a little different in my thinking. I don't have a "sweetheart" but I do celebrate V-Day for my two kids and my Mom. :lovestruc :lovestruc
Growing up my Dad and brother always bought me satin heart boxes of chocolates. (I hung the pretty boxes on my bedroom walls) My Mom would usually get me a stuffed bear or Barbie. I remember that fondly.
I am definitely a celebrate/holiday girl. I decorate for everything. Yesterday the kids woke up to a decorated table and baskets of candy, all their favorites. I got Lexi the Madagascar movie. We made a huge brunch and baked cookies (Pilsbury box ones). We usually do dinner at home but I volunteered to work so we changed it up this year. I know it may be strange for some but I wouldn't have it any other way. I think V-Day doesn't have to be for lovers it can be for anyone.
I am a believer in showing love all year, a true romantic at heart.
Now I just wish I was Irish so I could celebrate St.Pat's Day....:rotfl2: I'll just have to wait until Easter. ;)

My mom and I don't like the pressure that is put on men to spend and do SO much on Valentines Day. I wasn't expecting anything, but got a rose bush and a small box of candy. It's kinda like mothers day. I don't expect a store bought gift. Just be a little more thoughtful on that day. Cook the dinner AND clean up the dishes. Anyway, that's my soapbox on Valentines Day. We ordered out pizza and ate it with our kids.

Hey Dawn! Even though you and Ray didn't celebrate V-day I hope you guys had a good Saturday. And, I hope your tooth isn't causing you too much pain! All of mine were impacted and I had them all removed at once, I was knocked out and all. It was a rough few days afterwards but definitely worth it now so I hope you get some relief for your pain soon! :goodvibes

exactly! the one time we tried to make it a "special" day it was a disaster. that was so long ago that i don't even really remember what happened. it just made me think....um, what's the point of this? spaghetti sounds good!

i can't believe that kinda stuff cost triple! it's been so long since i've looked into it, i didn't realize that.

i think it's sweet the way you look at it - i just don't look at it that way. but everyone is different and that's what makes our world so interesting! ;) i'm sure once i have a child i will do get more into it for their sake. but for me and ray it's silly because neither of us see it the way you do.
Hey wait a minute....If V-Day isn't just for lovers, why must you be Irish to celebrate St Pat's Day? EVERYONE is Irish on St. Patty's day!!
Hey Punkin, I hope you get your tooth woes fixed soon!!
i agree! my friend wanted to go to savannah for st. patty's day. they have a huge celebration down there - they even turn the river green! but i don't do well with crowds so i told her no. i'd rather just wear green and have a margarita.....sort of a mesh of st. patty's day and cinco de mayo. :lmao:

we had a good day other than sitting on the interstate for an hour! we were going to have a late lunch at chili's (about 3 exits away) and there was a wreck and we sat STILL on the interstate for over an hour. at least i had a chance to catch up on my reading. :rotfl2: 3 of my 4 wisdom teeth are fully in so he'll just have to pull them. the 4th one is almost all the way in so i'm not sure if he'll have to cut it or just pull it.

they're watching her VERY closely right now. keep her in your prayers. ;)
I will :goodvibes. I hope everything is going well with her and the baby!!
Spoken like a woman who has never been 8 months pregnant in the dog-heat of the summer! :lmao:
Dawn and I just had that discussion the other day. Hopefully if I am pregnant, especially the end of it will not be during the summer. I don't think I could handle it....honestly! So for me my months would be March thru Sept I think :rotfl:
Just teasing you Erica! I was finally induced with my first at 4 days overdue because my blood pressure was rising fast and he was showing NO signs of leaving soon. My second was a scheduled C-section and he decided to arrive 1 1/2 weeks early. Little unpredictable buggers!
No, I'm sorry I shouldn't have said anything, just had something particular on my mind that day :headache:
So your 2nd was ready to GO! :jumping3: I'm sure if I do get pregnant I'll be ready to get that thing out of there but I hope I am blessed to run the course I should.
How SWEET is that!!! :flower3:
That's awesome!
i would tell you all happy valentine's day but i'd feel like a hyprocrit. ray and i haven't celebrated v-day for about 10 years now. neither of us "get" it. i don't like the thought of my husband expressing his love for me on the same day that everyone else in america is doing it. plus i think that should be done every day. and i don't like how the holiday exlcludes you if you're not married to or dating anyone. that just doesn't seem fair to me. i do think it's fun for the kids because they get to make the little valentine's cards and pass them around - that's always so cute! but for me i just don't feel the need to get into it. maybe i'm odd! :confused3
I just told Matt about 2 weeks ago I hate Valentines. I've told him several times I wish he would randomly send me flowers instead of day's that people designate. But also with that being said I love getting the things I do. We had said we weren't doing anything for V-day but he already had other plans.
MeMom....did you see me in the paper?? :rotfl: If you have Sat's paper there is a picture of a quartet (my uncle Jimmy's quartet) singing to me. When I get pictures I will post them on our TR to let everyone see. It was very sweet and a lot of fun !! I was totally surprised and caught off guard!
I am definitely a celebrate/holiday girl. I decorate for everything. Yesterday the kids woke up to a decorated table and baskets of candy, all their favorites. I got Lexi the Madagascar movie. Your not odd, I feel the same! If I am getting flowers, I want them just to get them. Not on Valentine's Day! I do enjoy it becauase of Hollie. She has fun making cards and giving them to everyone she knows!! We usually only get each other a card and thats it! We spent our V-day watching movies with Hollie having a picnic on the floor! lol!!
Okay, who is it you know in the parade?

after our yummy lunch i headed out with anna, etc. on a quest to find....
dum...dum....dum......
LIGHTENING MCQUEEN!!!!!
luke was SO excited to meet him. ray had left lunch early to go grab fastpasses to RNRC. i headed over to the area where lightning mcqueen and tow mater were when i was there with erica in september (over near that big coke bottle sprayer thing). only when i got over there....no lightening mcqueen. i thought....oh my goodness. he's gonna be SO disappointed because i told him he was here!
so i saw a CM nearby and asked him if they had moved. he said they had and told us the new area they were in. THANK GOODNESS!
on the way back over to that area, this passed us. it's the mulch, sweat and shears band that performs at DHS. they were playing as they rode along and they sounded really good!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/01-8.jpg
we got over to the lightening mcqueen area and as soon as luke saw them he was so excited!!! i left them at this point because ray had called and he was on his way to meet me in front of TSM and we were gonna go find a spot for the block party bash.
anna said luke thought meeting lightening mcqueen was SO COOL! luke has always loved that movie. he used to run around the house and scream, "kapow, kapow.....i'm fast like lightening mcqueen!!!!" :rotfl:
i love these pictures. his expression is just so nonchalant.....like, yeah, i'm meeting lightening mcqueen and mater. no big deal. it's all in a day's work. :lmao:

bye, mater! see ya next time.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/06-8.jpg
on the way back to meet us anna, etc. went by muppet vision 3-D and got some pics of the fountain....

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/08-8.jpg
back to me and ray....
it was almost 2:30 by the time i was on my way to meet ray in front of TSM, so we decided to ahead and scope out a spot for the block party bash. we saw this super cool guy out in front of TSM....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/09-8.jpg
look at his feet! :rotfl:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/10-8.jpg
as we were starting to walk away, he turned around and headed straight for me!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/11-8.jpg
then he wanted a picture with ray. i love this one!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/12-8.jpg
that was the first time i'd seen him and he was really cool!
we headed towards the area in front of the hat to get a seat for the parade. we got a spot right in front of the hat and the way it was taped off kind of worried me. so i found a CM and asked her if we could sit there. she said we could, but that she wouldn't because once the parade starts, they move the crowd in closer to the parade and it is one big ball of confusion and you will lose your spot. no way! so i walked down a little bit further towards the new american idol attraction, saw a spot right in front of a kiosk that was still open, asked the CM at the kiosk if we could sit there and she said no problem. i called ray (who had been saving the first spot we found) and told him to walk in my direction and then called anna, etc. and told them where we were. it actually worked out really well because the kiosk was right behind us and that way no one could crowd us. :thumbsup2
as we were waiting we saw another brazilian tour group. this was one really big and LOUD! they were chanting as they walked by. i think some of the kids thought that was the parade! :rotfl2:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/13-8.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/14-8.jpg
this was our view to the right. i wish this was open when we were there! i'm interested to see what it's like.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/15-7.jpg
anna and luke waiting for the parade - as you can see, luke was trying on the bracelets that were for sale at the kiosk behind us!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/16-8.jpg
i just love the balloon guys!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/17-8.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/18-8.jpg
remember how i said no one could crowd us? yeah. well, about 10 minutes before the parade started, this older woman was behind chris and ray (who were standing behind the stroller - me and anna were sort of on either side of it and luke was in it at this point) who kept trying to push her little girl (or granddaughter - not sure) in front of them. now i am not one to deprive a child from seeing a parade. if someone taps me on the shoulder and says something to the effect of, "excuse me, can my kid please stand in front of you so she can see? i'll stay back here," no problem! i've done that MANY times. but NOT when someone is PUSHING their kid into my back side! ray and chris were getting really aggravated. i can't believe people continue to show up 5 minutes before a show/parade starts and expect to push their way up front! and i feel sorry for the kids but no way am i going to reward her mother/grandmother's obnoxious behavior by letting them in front of me without them asking nicely. i just don't get people!!! :headache:
about 2 minutes before the parade started, she gave up and went across the parade route to the other side. we saw her doing the same thing over there. :confused3 of course she wasn't successful so she tried to come back over but the CMs wouldn't let her since the parade was almost in our area.

the parade came almost down to us and then stopped. so we just missed the first stop of the show. to pass the time some CMs got out a big round sheet-looking thing and put some balls in it for the kids to bounce around...
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/19-8.jpg
anna took luke over there and he had a good time for a few minutes. then he got frustrated because the sheet wouldn't do what he wanted it to.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/20-8.jpg
finally the first "show" was over and the parade proceeded past us!

this girl was right in front of us during the part where they pull the crowd out to dance. she was so cute! anna and i have decided that we're going to get these outfits for halloween next year. this one's going to be mine. i will show you anna's later.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/48-1.jpg

after looking at my pics i'm thinking we saw the guy above twice. see what you think. below is a picture of who i think is the same guy in the AK parade two days later. he did a GREAT impression of a monkey!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/DSC09456.jpg
okay, this is the outfit that anna wants for halloween....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/59-1.jpg
when they shot out the balls at the end ray caught one and i saw one rolling so i got it for luke. he was happy he got one!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/60-1.jpg
anna later said that she had no idea they had even shot them and the next thing she knew i was getting one. it's because i knew to expect it!
as the parade started to roll on down the road, these two girls came over and i asked them to pose for a picture. the one on the left said something as they were posing and i think she said, "she's my twin." chris said she said something else which i will not say here but you can use your imagination considering the word "twin" was involved. boys are so silly! :rolleyes1
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/61-1.jpg
this guy made "ears" at me when he saw me taking a picture!

i just love this parade!!! it's so much fun - lots to look at and great music and great CMs! the one thing i don't like is the way it stops 3 different times. if you happen to get stuck at the end of the parade, that's like an hour of wasted time! it's smart to get a spot on the first stop but that's not always possible. we were on the second stop and the parade wasn't over until almost 3:40. it just feels like you waste a good bit of precious disney time waiting if you're not on the first stop.

Love it! The BBB looks like so much fun! My family isn't into the parades (and I'm lucky to get them to stay for Spectro!) and I don't think we'll be seeing this one anytime soon so it was cool getting to see the pictures. Those costumes are all so cute!

I think that's the same guy. They probably have a "parade" staff and the go from park to park. A lot of the block party people work on HSM3 too. Personally I like the parade better. We must have been in a similar section because we saw this same thing in front of us. I LOVE all these characters though. Bo Peep is my fave.
I love the pics of ya'll with the army guy. I haven't seen them out in a couple of years. Those are the best character pics of ya'll. I love his feet too. Now that would win a costume contest!
Luke looks like he's having the time of his life!
That's not cool what that woman did. I always invite little kids in front of me too but there was no need in the adult acting that way. If there's not room at something like that I just skip it. I'd never walk over someone.

Love Luke's expression while meeting Lighting McQueen and Mater! (Can you believe that I still haven't seen Cars?) Looks like you had a great spot for Block Party Bash -- such a fun parade, and yes, that does look like the same guy -- I had no idea the CMs rotated which parades they are in!

It looks so much fun!!! I can't believe how much these pictures make me want to go back!! I have actually looked at the 4/3 deal and I got a code yesterday for a Sunday-Thursday stay at a value for $549/person. Unfortunately, my vacation time is blocked out for both. :sad2: I'm a teacher, so my vacations are almost always the expensive ones because everyone has them off.

I had to wait until I got to school this morning to check in here, because I needed to leave early to go get a baby shower gift for a fellow teacher for a shower this afternoon. Too bad for me, because I don't get to see all the good pictures until this evening when I get home. Very few pictures come through here at school. I'll look forward to seeing them tonight. :)
Now that my March trip is really within sight, I am allowing myself to start thinking about it, and I know your pictures will make me very anxious to get on down there!
Watching the joy in the kids' faces is absolutely one of the best things about being in Disney World!

Those are great parade pictures. I am glad a CM told you not to watch from in front of the hat because we did that and it was not a good spot. People were coming in the whole time and we were too far away from everything. Luke looks like he really enjoyed it. Maybe next time we can get a better spot and we will like it more than we did last time. I wished for the Stars and Motorcars parade to be back. That was my favorite.

I love the green army men. They were my favs from the xmas party a few years ago. This year, one of them got down on one knee and proposed to my oldest daughter in law. It's so fun when the characters are obviously enjoying themselves.
And kudos to you, Dawn, for not letting the last minute parade crashers crowd up front. That stuff drives me insane.

she updated me about once a week - so far so good!
Dawn and I just had that discussion the other day. Hopefully if I am pregnant, especially the end of it will not be during the summer. I don't think I could handle it....honestly! So for me my months would be March thru Sept I think :rotfl:
me too! ray will just have to deal with no "practicing" september through january! :lmao:
MeMom....did you see me in the paper?? :rotfl: If you have Sat's paper there is a picture of a quartet (my uncle Jimmy's quartet) singing to me. When I get pictures I will post them on our TR to let everyone see. It was very sweet and a lot of fun !! I was totally surprised and caught off guard!
so cute!
Your not odd, I feel the same! If I am getting flowers, I want them just to get them. Not on Valentine's Day! I do enjoy it becauase of Hollie. She has fun making cards and giving them to everyone she knows!! We usually only get each other a card and thats it! We spent our V-day watching movies with Hollie having a picnic on the floor! lol!!
Okay, who is it you know in the parade?
that's cute! i'm sure when i have a child i'll get more into it too.
i went to high school with kimberly locke and she was riding with mickey in the parade. i'm totally jealous!!!

i loved the army guy, too. he was so cool.
i don't know where that lady ended up! i felt sorry for the two little girls that were with her but i just refuse to reward that kind of behavior. it teaches her kids that they can do that sort of thing and get what they want. i have volunteered for kids to get in front of me many times. it's not a big deal - i can't see straight over their heads anyway! but the pushing and shoving just isn't cool!

hope you had fun at the baby shower! your march trip is coming soon. what are your dates again? i can't wait - i'm excited for you! i know you will be missing your two favorite travel companions but you'll still have a good time. just remember if your friend doesn't want to do exactly what you want to do that alone time at disney is always nice! erica and i split up a couple of times and it wasn't a big deal. and i agree about watching the kids' faces at disney. it's so cute! ray keeps saying that we won't take our kid to disney until they're at least 5 and i'm like WHAT???? um.....that's fine if you don't want to go but i'm taking my kid as soon as they can walk!!!! :rotfl:
So glad you found Luke 'the Cars', I'm sure he was so excitted. :)

I love the pics of you and Ray with Army guy. :thumbsup2
oh, he was beside himself - he's just good at hiding it!
as far as a good spot it just depends on what you want to see. if you want the first stop and you want to see the toy story characters, stay on hollywood boulevard (the street you walk down when you enter the park) but head farther down towards the hat. if you want to see the monsters inc. characters, stay on that same street but more towards the middle, like around where the times guide board is. if you want to see the bug's life characters, stay on that same street and more towards the front of the park. i can't speak as to where to be for the 2nd and 3rd stops because i've never walked further down the parade route.
Okay Luke has got to be the most entertaining kid when it comes to taking pictures! :rotfl:
isn't he so funny??? :goodvibes

Aww, man!! Awesome pictures of the parade!!!! I really need to make myself start watching the parades more!
thanks! this one is really cute. you need to catch it next time - hollie would love it!
I'm so glad someone else knew that was a parachute. Great update, Dawn, and I just saw the ultrasound pics. Do they have a name picked out?
thanks! memom already answered but her name is margot raine. it's not what i'd pick but i'm the aunt and not the mommy, so it doesn't matter what i think! and i don't want to be one of those pushy relatives who forced my opinion on everyone without being asked.

Fantastic parade pictures! I love that Luke has his Pluto stuffy in his hands the whole time. :goodvibes Too cute. :goodvibes
thanks! oh, luke is always like that with whatever toy he's into at the moment. he has one doll named lamby that's a little lamb that he carries around. he's lost it a couple of times and anna had to order a new one. and then when they met us for the pirate and princess party back in may he was carrying gary the snail from spongebob squarepants the entire night!

i thought the green army men were so cool! what a great job!
i hate to get ugly at disney world but i refuse to be pushed around! i think the best way to handle it is just ignore them but don't let them push in front of you. that's what we did and she eventually figured out she wasn't getting in front of us and went away.

Awesome parade pictures!! I hope I can get my fiance to get into the parades and watch them. He doesn't sound to excited about them right now. But it is our first trip to Disney we have to at least see a couple. Luke has the cutest reactions to everything. We aren't taking our daughter until next year after our honeymoon. She will be five then. I can't wait to see what she will think of all of it.

then he wanted a picture with ray. i love this one!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/12-8.jpg
I hope we get to see these guys, I think they're really cute
anna and luke waiting for the parade - as you can see, luke was trying on the bracelets that were for sale at the kiosk behind us!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/december%20TR/16-8.jpg
I want one of these bracelets
remember how i said no one could crowd us? yeah. well, about 10 minutes before the parade started, this older woman was behind chris and ray (who were standing behind the stroller - me and anna were sort of on either side of it and luke was in it at this point) who kept trying to push her little girl (or granddaughter - not sure) in front of them. now i am not one to deprive a child from seeing a parade. if someone taps me on the shoulder and says something to the effect of, "excuse me, can my kid please stand in front of you so she can see? i'll stay back here," no problem! i've done that MANY times. but NOT when someone is PUSHING their kid into my back side! ray and chris were getting really aggravated. i can't believe people continue to show up 5 minutes before a show/parade starts and expect to push their way up front! and i feel sorry for the kids but no way am i going to reward her mother/grandmother's obnoxious behavior by letting them in front of me without them asking nicely. i just don't get people!!! :headache:
about 2 minutes before the parade started, she gave up and went across the parade route to the other side. we saw her doing the same thing over there. :confused3 of course she wasn't successful so she tried to come back over but the CMs wouldn't let her since the parade was almost in our area.
We had the same thing happen to us. These two older ladies were pushing their way in front of my stroller and almost sat on my kids in the stroller. My DH finally said something like "excuse me but the kids can't see now that you stood in front of us" and then they moved but not without rolling their eyes at us
Oh and I had to post this for you, sorry's it so big

just found out that our office manager is going to disney this year and she leaves on my birthday (july 18th). how cruel is THAT??? i'm sure by that time i'll be having major withdrawals.
but hey, at least i have something to plan for the next 5 months! now that ADRs are only 90 days out, i have a good while until i can plan my boss's trip in december. so this will keep me busy until then. how pathetic is it that i'm always SO excited to plan someone else's trip???
looks like seeing all my disney pics from the past couple of years and hearing me go on and on about how great it is is rubbing off on everyone at work!!! :lmao: the only reason my other boss isn't going this year is because she's pregnant and due in august. she's got a 16yo, a 6 yo, a 1.5 yo (who was adopted last year b/c her new husband was told he couldn't conceive and, lo and behold, she's pregnant now!) so i'm sure she'll be taking her clan soon!

I'm planning my sister's trip to WDW right now. They're going in May and I'm sending her lots of emails with restaurant suggestions at the moment! It's a bit hard to know where to start helping someone who knows absolutely nothing about Disney World. She still calls it Disneyland, for goodness sake!! I don't want to to overwhelm her. Great pictures! :thumbsup2 We've never stopped to see the parade over at DHS. But after seeing your pictures, we just may.
thanks! it's a really good parade.
That food looks delicious!
it is! if i didn't hate atlanta so much i'd go there more often.
Too Funny
that guy was a trip.
What an awesome moment to catch.
they have lots of cute moments. they're a very affectionate family. ray and i are just the opposite -no PDA here. but of course we don't have kids yet so that will probably change someday.
Okay..caught up.....
:thumbsup2 can't wait to hear about your china trip! i'm sure it's gonna make me add more places to my list of places to go before i die.
I can't wait to see what she will think of all of it.
thanks! i didn't think ray would be into any parades or shows before our first trip together and he really liked them! he kept commenting on how talented all the performers were. i'm sure your daughter will love it next year!
I hope we get to see these guys, I think they're really cute
he was awesome!
I want one of these bracelets
well, now you know they're $5.95! :rotfl:
We had the same thing happen to us. These two older ladies were pushing their way in front of my stroller and almost sat on my kids in the stroller. My DH finally said something like "excuse me but the kids can't see now that you stood in front of us" and then they moved but not without rolling their eyes at us
what is WITH people??? :confused3
Oh and I had to post this for you, sorry's it so big
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v713/cm22nm/DSC01350.jpg
oh, my gosh.....look at her! she's just adorable. and i love that dress!!!
Great parade update Dawn! I love the extression on Lukes' face as he's looking at Slim! You nailed it when you said he was naunch... (can't spell it :rotfl: ) HA! I haven't seen the Block Party parade yet and am looking forward to seeing it in June. Those green army guys are SO funny!!! We saw them scare someone who was staring at them trying to figure out if they were real or not. :rotfl:
thanks! nonchalant? i'm not even sure if that's right but it looks good to me. you guys will love the block party. it's just very entertaining. that's too funny about the army guys.
I've never seen the parade at DHS........we always plan to do it, but either forget or do something else.
I saw the army guy for the first time on my last trip. I can't imagine walking with those feet things.........I'd be falling all over the place.
that's happened to me a couple of times too but i've seen it the last two trips. i never did see the motor cars one because i'd always forget about it! i'd be fallnig down, too....i'm such a klutz!

Yay for more planning!!! :cheer2:
I'm planning my sister's trip to WDW right now. They're going in May and I'm sending her lots of emails with restaurant suggestions at the moment! It's a bit hard to know where to start helping someone who knows absolutely nothing about Disney World. She still calls it Disneyland, for goodness sake!! I don't want to to overwhelm her. Where do you normally start when you help someone with their planning, Dawn?
I'm sure they'll have a blast though! :thumbsup2
fun! it's so exciting to help someone with their trip because you can actually help them have a better time! a disney vacation done the wrong way could be miserable. i normally start out with if they have base tickets or park hoppers, if they're on a meal plan and if so, which one, if they are early risers or stay up late, if they want to have a break in the afternoons, if they have kids, if they are interested in the water parks. then i go from there.
Dawn Know what you mean about planning DD has all her co workerscall me when they are planning a trip!!
almost everyone i know knows to call me when they're going to disney. EXCEPT my neighbor. her husband developed mouth cancer last year (he's fine now) and her work sent them on a disney vacation. well, i didn't even know about it until they got back. i was SO MAD. and even worse she complained about a couple of things that i would've told her to avoid or whatever. then recently another neighbor of ours went to disney world (back in december) and she had called me and i helped her LOTS with her trip. well, she told the first neighbor about it and she had the nerve to say to me, "you didn't help me with my trip!" THAT'S BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW - YOU DIDN'T TELL ME!!!! she said she did but i KNOW i would remember that. i know how i am about disney and i would've been so excited to help her.
Sorry for hijacking your thread, Dawn!
no problemo!
Seriously Dawn I'm with you there! Sometimes I dream of ditching the years of my education (and thousands of dollars!) to become a Disney travel specialist and just do that for a living (which of course would require lots of in person research). Put it on my "if I ever win the lottery" list of things-to-do :upsidedow
i think that's what i want to do part-time when i retire!
Can I work in your agency? :)
Please?
me too!!!!! we should all totally look into getting the okay from disney (i'm sure you have to take a class or something even though we all know this stuff!) and create a website or something!

No, I'm in NC, but the TA was in Pennsylvania. I think she was looking for people anywhere in the US. The ad said the only requirement was travel experience to Disney World, Disneyland, or Disney Cruise Line. I'll check her site and see if she still has the ad. Last time I saw it was probably around September. I wanted to be a TA when I was in highschool but I decided to be a teacher instead. I've always regretted that decision. I called that TA on atleast 3 occasions during the planning period of my trip (7 months or so) that she was gone on a Dis cruise or at WDW. That made me regret becoming a teacher even more:lmao: !

Now I can't reccomend her or her company or anything b/c I don't know a thing about her. I had already booked my trip (just tranferred my reservation to her) and I planned it all myself. I only transferred my trip to her because she was offering a good deal if you did that.:rolleyes1 But I didn't hardly talk to her at all and I have never used her before. Not saying there is anything wrong with her.........my trip went fine. Just wanted you to know that I don't know her personally. But I think I would love that job! :cloud9:

i just wanted to take the opportunity to apologize in advance for the lack of updates for the next few days. i am SWAMPED!!!! as of this morning i already had 5 depositions, 1 motion to suppress hearing and 1 guilty plea to type. i did a deposition today that the guy needs on monday, so i'm doing that now. and then i have another deposition scheduled tomorrow. so i'm gonna be a VERY busy girl the next couple of weeks!!! i'm not complaining though - i'd much rather be busy than not have any work. but when it rains, it pours!
oh, and to top that off anna and i are going roller skating with some girlfriends on saturday night, so that will take up more of my typing time. but i'm not cancelling because it was my idea and some of the girls have gotten sitters, so i don't want to mess with their plans. i'm sure i will have some very comical pictures from that little adventure!
hope everyone's doing well! :goodvibes

Absolutely! I want to hear every detail if you hear anything back. And if you don't mind, I would love to know how you got into doing what you do now? Do you work solely from home? I am a SAHM and would love some income but I have a DD to take care of right now. I was just wondering if your job is a position that all courts have or if you're an independt contractor or something. I hope you don't mind the questions or think they are too personal. Thanks!
BTW, I'm sure she is not the only TA who is looking for help like that. Maybe when you have time, you should google it and see what you can find. Good Luck!

i will definitely let you know if i hear from her!
i don't mind at all! i got into it because i went to college to be a paralegal and hated it! i wanted to stay in the legal field and the more i found out about court reporting, the more interested i became in it. i really feel like i was born to do this job. it's perfect for me. we all have complaints about our jobs but mine are minimal and i love what i do.
i am considered a freelance reporter but that's only because i am not assigned to a judge. if you're assigned to a judge then you're an "official" reporter. i am with a court reporting firm and there are 5 of us. i am number 4 on the totem pole, so to speak. the 3 above me are "officials" and have their own judges, but my circuit is number one in georgia on the list to get another judge, so as soon as that happens i will be an official. the plus with that is that i will be guaranteed a certain amount of money every month (for court work) and everything i do above that (depositions and any transcripts ordered from court) are bonus. as far as every court having a court reporter, they are usually assigned by judge. in georgia every superior court and state court judge has their own court reporter. juvenile, probate and magistrate court judges usually don't and they just use freelance reporters to do the work they need done because not everything has to be taken down by a court reporter in those courts. but every state is different so i'm not sure how your state is organized.
i do half my work at home. for example, this week i was off monday, i had a 5-hour deposition tuesday, a had 2 hours of guilty pleas in court yesterday, today i had a 1-hour deposition and tomorrow i have a deposition in atlanta. so that's the time i spend out of home working. some weeks i work every day, some weeks i work 1 day - just depends on how busy we are. but the typing from that is done at home. but take into account that a 1-hour deposition takes on average 3 hours to type. so you have to be really self-motivated in order to keep up with the work.
i thought when i first started that this would be a great job to have with kids because they could stay at home with me when i was at home. a good friend of mine who went to school with me had a baby about 6 months before she started court reporting and she learned really quick that's not the case. unless you have time to DEDICATE to sit down and really work on your transcripts, you'll never get anything done. and kids don't really understand that just because mommy's home doesn't mean she can't be with them constantly. kids deserve a lot of attention and from what i understand it's really difficult to get work done with having kids at home. but of course you do have days when you're caught up on your work and you get a "free" day off and that would be nice to spend with the kids unexpectedly!
another thing to be aware of is that most court reporters are self-employed, meaning you have to pay quarterly taxes. no fun! and you get no benefits, as in no health insurance or vacation pay. but the plus side of that is i don't have a 9-5 schedule and if i want i can do my work in the middle of the night in my PJs!
oh, another disadvantage - i can no longer watch shows like CSI because they're all so unrealistic and it makes me mad! :lmao:
if you're really interested, if i were you i'd contact your state board of court reporting, see what the requirements are and see if they know of a website you can look at to find out if any court reporters in your area are looking for typists. that's the quickest way you will find out if you want to do this or not. of course they'd have to train you because typing verbatim what people say is NOTHING like typing a letter or an e-mail or even on the disboards. it takes time to learn how to do it because you can't change anything anyone says, even if it's wrong, yet you have to make it make sense. and grammar skills are definitely a requirement. hope this helps!
Yeah, you need to go out and have fun with the girls! All work and no play is not good for Dawn! It'll be fun, and I'm sure we will get to see some great pictures from it, as well.
i'm sure it will be fun. we are eating mexican food beforehand which means margaritas will be involved. i hope no one gets hurt!!!! the good thing is that anna will be there and she doesn't drink, so we will have a completely sober driver to take us to the hospital!!! :scared1:
Glad to hear that you are busy, especially in times like these! We'll all be here when you get a little less busy. Have fun roller skating... "in the opposite direction" :rotfl:

tourguidedawn - that's hilarious! it does have a certain ring to it, though.
i actually saw the end of it. the very first time ray and i were at MGM (before it was changed to DHS) we got stuck on the great (lame) movie ride and that's why we missed it that time. but we did manage to run up and see the star wars part.
i'm PMing you right now!

WOW! Thanks for the info! Your friend is right on the working from home with kids thing. It is hard to get anything done except play with them!:lmao: I find it hard just to get the regular chores done with my DD because she thinks it is playtime 24/7. I wish I could just forget about trying to make money and focus completely on her, but it is hard these days to make it on one income. I do whatever I can here and there to make money like keep kids occasionally and sell stuff on ebay. Mostly I figure out ways to SAVE money for us instead of MAKE money. That helps too. But my DD will be starting kindergarten in the fall so I may wait until then to look into something like this. I would still like to work from home even after she is in school so that I can be there for all her school activites. But thanks a bunch for the info and I will absolutely keep it in mind down the road a little.

I just signed up to become a Trip Planner for my site. Basically it is $300.00 up front. then you have to do the Disney college of knowledge online.
Then you work for that company for 1 year. You get the orders but they do all the paper work and mailings. So make sure you really know them.
After a year you can go out on your own.
That was my understanding of it.

Love the parade photos, it looks very high energy and so much fun! I love Luke's face as he watched it :)
thanks! it IS so much fun! i hope you guys get to see it on your next trip.
We went roller skating not that long ago and it was so much fun! Don't have to many margaritas! I was very wobbly at first.
obviously i'm alive and survived without incident! more on that later.
Hope you had a great time last night skating!!
Can't wait to see the pictures!! :thumbsup2
we had a blast! we will have to do it again when you come up for our ikea adventure!
I'm sure you enjoyed the diversion of skating instead of work. I can't wait to see pics. :) Glad you didn't hurt yourself, I'd hate for you to re-injure yourself after you just recovered from the nasty fall on the stairs. ;) Of course there has to be margaritas!!!
I wouldn't have your disipline to do the kind of work you do. I give you a pat on the back. I love to hear it when people love what they do, kudos to you. I would easily get distracted and the work would pile up. Besides, I type one letter at a time....it would take me forever....:lmao:
it was a nice break from work. yeah, i was really hoping i wouldn't break anything and luckily i didn't. thanks for your kind words about my job. it takes discipline but i really do love it (most of the time). all of the drama i hear about it makes me appreciate having a boring life.
How AWESOME is this!!??!!??
I think I'm going to apply also. I think it would be great fun to do this part time. Earn a little extra cash (like the tax-deductible thing too.) But most of all make everyone's life a little sweeter :goodvibes
If I can make a families trip better, by having fun looking at what I  anyway. WHY NOT??
And I'm busy and lazy :rotfl: , but mostly I don't want it to end :crying:
I'm glad .
But seriously from your concern in our last conversation :thumbsup2 you GO girl!!
i thought the same exact thing about doing that part time. i haven't heard back from her but i will let you guys know if i do. i'm gonna give it a week before i start looking elsewhere. this has gotten the wheels turning in my head so if i don't get this one i'm gonna look elsewhere for something similar! thanks about the work i'm getting - i need the $$$!!!

well, i survived our skating adventure with no injuries!!!! :thumbsup2 it was a really fun night and i'm glad we did it. we will be doing it again soon i'm sure.
we started out the night with dinner at my favorite mexican restaurant and i had two margaritas. just enough to make me happy but not too many to prohibit coordination while rolling on a wooden surface. :rotfl:
the night's participants were me, anna, erin (who some of you may know from my september 2007 TR) and my friend angie. angie is a good friend that i went to court reporting school with.
anyway, here we are getting our skates on.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00265.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00267.jpg
right before we were about step onto the skating rink, an announcement came over the speakers for everyone to clear the floor because someone had spilled a coke. so i got all psyched up for nothing! the rink we were about to conquer......
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00271.jpg
while they were cleaning up the spill we decided to practice going back and forth between the lockers.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00279.jpg
here's erin - notice the girl just about to cut her off. this happened ALL night. you'd be skating along and some kid would roll right in front of you and throw off your balance. :headache:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00281.jpg
me getting my game face on. :rotfl2:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00280.jpg
we finally made it out onto the floor. it was surprisingly familiar - like riding a bike! it didn't take me long to get the swing of it again.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00294.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00314.jpg
erin was still trying to psych herself up and i took this as we passed her and angie.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00293.jpg
the skating rink we went to has this thing where you can pay a dollar and buy someone a rose, mostly for the kids and teenagers. well, as we were skating i hear an announcement come on that says, "anna, you have a rose at the front from dawn." erin was joking earlier that night that anna and i sounded like we were dating because we were sharing fajitas at dinner and trying to decide which ones to get and bickering about it. so she decided it would be appropriate for me to buy her a rose that night. :lmao:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00283.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00284.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00282.jpg
they cleared the floor again for the skating races. first were the older guys. watch the two that are leading - they were scaring me to death!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/th_MOV00286.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/?action=view¤t=MOV00286.flv)
then the younger boys went and there was one little kid who was SO CUTE! you'll see me point him out. i wanted to go give him a hug when he fell.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/th_MOV00287.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/?action=view¤t=MOV00287.flv)
they also had a girls race but i didn't tape any of that.

then it was time to skate again! erin braved it this time but she wouldn't move away from the wall.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00296.jpg
she had me laughing so hard because whenever she'd encounter anyone she'd say, "you probably want to move out of my way." :rotfl2: here she is telling some people to move.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00299.jpg
then some kids ended up falling right in front of her. it was SO FUNNY!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00297.jpg
she's moving away from the wall!!!!!! :yay:

taking a break.....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00308.jpg
erin was dancing and i started to record her and anna thought i was taking a picture so she was posing - this was hilarious! watch anna's face. sorry it's sideways again - i wasn't thinking.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/th_MOV00302.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/?action=view¤t=MOV00302.flv)
more skating....
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00309.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00311.jpg
right before we were going to call it a night they announced adult skate so we went back out there. they were playing this '70's/'80's disco music - it was pretty funny! anna did the robot. :cool2: it was nice because we did a BUNCH of laps with no kids cutting us off and scaring us to death!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/th_MOV00313.jpg (http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/?action=view¤t=MOV00313.flv)
it was around 10:45 and the rink closed at 11:00 so we decided to call it a night. erin had already turned in her skates and was outside smoking so she's not in this one.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00315.jpg
it was so sweet - the teenage girl that took this picture said, "you guys are so pretty" when she handed the camera back to me. it restored my faith in the youth of america. not that she said we were pretty, but that she was actually polite and nice. you don't get that a lot these days with kids her age and that's one thing that scares me to death about having a kid of my own.
back to normal shoes!!!
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00316.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll79/punkin1803/skating/DSC00317.jpg
it felt so weird to walk in normal shoes after roller skating for about 3 hours!
i only fell twice which is pretty good i think! and no bruises or soreness.....yet! erin probably did the least amount of skating last night and she sent me a text this morning that said, "when are we going again?" :lmao: i'm glad she had fun though. we all did!

That looks like so much fun! My grandpa owned a skating rink upstate when my mom was growing up and her, my aunt and uncles would be there every weekend, skating and helping out. Then when my brother and I were younger we found a skating rink in Jersey where my bro had a bunch of birthday parties. We all grew up skating across the floor to flashing lights and 70s/80s/90s dance music  So many memories, I love it!!! I'm glad you all had a good time!

Dawn, just wanted to let you know that I have spent the last few days reading your report. I love it !! Luke is a little cutie patootie with those long eyelashes, he is going to be a heartbreaker !!
And I just wanted to add that I loved the last installment with the skating rink !! My family owns the local skating rink back home so I spent every free minute I had there while growing up. when we go back home to visit we spend quite a bit of time there, too, but I have to say I haven't put my wheels on in quite a while. Maybe I will have to do that over Spring Break, it's really good exercise !! And I know I could probably get a bunch of my girlfriends from high school up there too if I did it on a day we are actually closed. You know, so we don't injure any poor kids in the process, and so my Dad won't mind if we have some "grown up" drinks !!
Can't wait for more !!

OMG I haven't been to a skating rink in forever! I didn't actually go to the rink much as a kid but I had my own skates that I practically lived in during the hours between school and dinner. I wore my stakes everywhere and was even skilled at going up and down stairs in them.
Santa brought Patrick stakes for Christmas that he had been going around the house in quite frequently (doing well on the carpet, a little shaky on the hardwood :rotfl: ) Now that the snow has melted off the sidewalks, he has been outside on them a few times and is getting the hang of it really quickly. It's really brought back my own memories watching him.

OMG what a fun night it looks like you guys had! Funny, my BF and I and 2 of our friends went ice skating the other night. There were SOOO many little kids there (like 10-13 yrs old) who were like pros cutting me off and stuff like that. I was totally not skilled enough to take pictures during this little escapade. Needless to say, I was the Erin of the group! I did get myself off of the wall and was pretty good at it by the end of the night though. Like ERin, if I would come to a group of kids or almost run into one of them I would say "sorry, I'm not good at this." They were mostly understanding but its so funny because our experiences were alot alike! :lmao: :cutie:

Oh my gosh that takes me back! DH and I used to go roller skating all the time. We used to do the dances, like you see on ice skaters at the Olympics. No lifts or jumps, just dancing. We got pretty good too. All the way up to the silver dances. Then we stopped because we couldn't get any practice time with all the kids who were competing. It was a fun time for us.
I'm so glad you all had fun.

Grand Jury tape was a request from a client who represents the deft. in the criminal matter. Yeah, that was a treat. I'm freelance. But the state records GJ with audio and so I had to listen to it, take it down stenographically and then produce the transcript from there. Took a LONG time.
Isn't that rush rate great??????:)
i've actually done that but just once and it was a couple years ago. we charge $1 more per page for anything that we didn't take down that we transcribe because it's so much more difficult when you don't take it down. actually seeing someone talk makes a BIG difference than just listening to a tape, but i don't have to tell you that!
It looks like so much fun!! I need to find a rink around my area now!!

i had strawberry skates that you put on over the top of your regular shoes! then i graduated to "real" skates. i eventually got in-line skates and i still use those from time to time, but not very often. hope patrick enjoys going outdoors in his skates soon!
Awwww, it looks like you guys had a lot of fun!!!! :thumbsup2

this is an older skating rink in gainesville. it was the closest one to the place we went to eat. i'm sure the one in buford is nicer but we didn't care.
You should have seen the game we played. It was called Paddle Tag and there were 2-3 paddles out there and of course if you were tagged you're out. But that always left the best/fastest skaters out on the floor...it was WILD sometimes :scared1:
we didn't get there until around 8:30 so i'm sure we missed some of the festivities. they played another game called elimination while we were getting our skates but i didn't see it so i'm not sure what it involved.
Slower skaters to the inside please.....slower skaters to the inside! :rotfl:
does that mean that the slower skaters are supposed to be on the inside of the rink, like the furthest away from the wall? that doesn't seem fair! they need something to hang on to.
The rose thing was hilarious BTW.....good job Erin
yeah, she was proud of herself for that one.

Update on this comment. I had even thought of starting a update on the TR but the fan on my laptop died. So it is not working right now :guilty: We'll see how long it takes to get fixed and how much $$$$. B/c since we have the desktop it won't be a huge rush to get it done. But no more updates at least til it's running b/c all of my pictures are on there :rolleyes1

I would like to see the one in Buford. B/c honestly from those pictures that was a pretty decent rink. And it's bulit EXACTLY like the ones here. The nashville rinks (Brentwood, Rivergate and Smyrna) are all owned by the same man. And supposedly he is the 'king' of roller skating rinks

I was looking at food pics on the catergorized thread and came across one of yours...how was this??? Is it an entree or app and what is the exact name? And the cappucinos there....were they good? I want to go here in August (I've been craving escargot since our honeymoon) so that's the pic I'm in search of....back at it. LMK girlie! :thumbsup2

she had me laughing so hard because whenever she'd encounter anyone she'd say, "you probably want to move out of my way." :rotfl2: here she is telling some people to move.
I would have been laughing at that, if I had been there.
Honestly, I laughed at it right here at home. :rotfl:
It's only 6 a.m., but the picture of the pasta does look pretty good.
Might have to have some of that for supper. I'll probably have it on my mind today now that I've seen it.

Dawn - you guys look like you had a lot fun. Me and DH used to go roller skating with friends before we got married for awhile, we loved it. My DS7 went to a roller skating party awhile ago and he wants to go back with us :scared1: .

This guy is hilarious :rotfl: I'm not sure what he was trying to do - dance? Cracks me up.
It looks like you had so much fun. I would love to go roller skating again, haven't in years! I think that they should turn one of the empty clubs on Pleasure Island into a roller rink.

Hi Dawn - trying to catch up now that I'm back.........
Great pix from the DHS parade. I have yet to see that one; Lauren doesn't like to take the time to stop for parades. I'm thinking when we're back in Dec. though, it will have to be on our must-do list - it's looks so colorful and interactive; I'm sure Amanda would get a kick out of it!
And we were lucky - the American Idol Experience had opened the day before we arrived. Lauren and I caught one of the shows - it's incredibly cool!:thumbsup2 Hopefully I"ll get my TR started soon and you can read about it and see my pix over there.
