I'm sure some of you remember my dash to the hospital 2 weeks ago for blood tests and the fact that the NHS had messed up the pregnancy.
Well my Mrs has just got back from the Consultant at the hospital and it's not good news.
She has been signed off work for a week through exhustion and stress (just basically a way of him giving her a free week off work as it can't be proved that she isn't suffering with either of them).
Her Anti D levels are at 4, which is the cusp of being fatal to the baby. If it was 4.1 then basically we'd be having a baby today!
She has to go for a scan on Monday to make sure that it hasn't spread to the placenta...if it has then it can cause a fatal heart attack in the baby.
If it has spread to the placenta then we are looking at days before the 2nd Lincoln comes along rather than the 9 weeks that it should be.
I need as much magic and pixi dust as possible please...I'm doing all I can not to burst into tears at work today.
*Mods, if this is in the wrong place then please move it*

How awful, keeping everything crossed that things are OK on Monday and that baby stays cooking for a bit longer. How many weeks is Ellie now?
Do you have an understanding boss who would let you have time off? You could always go to your GP and be signed off sick aswell if things get too much for you.
((hugs)) to you all

She had anti bodies which were created when Kacee was born so she didn't have it with Kacee but they were aware of it from the beginning of this pregnancy which makes it more annoying that they did nothing about it!

She is 30 weeks tomorrow. My boss is a bit of a numpty (the strongest word I can use here) it would have to be through the GP more than anything...I'm off from Tuesday until the New Year so that should give us both a bit of a break!

havin been thru pregnancy problems both times, i am perfectly aware of how scary this is for u both - and of course made worse by the bhs.
am sending lots of love to ellie, and know its not easy, but try and get her to relax - she will know in herself that baby is ok, and tell her to stay positive.
anti d is one thing i dont know much about, pregnancy wise, but am i right in its the injection she shud have??? and am guessing she hasnt.
and on the good news, if the worst happens about 2nd lincoln has to make an early entrance, i know of lots of ppl who have had babies this early and they are fine - but i know it still doesnt stop the worry.
feel free to msg me if u ever need a chat, this time of year pregnancy is always high on mind as 3 yrs ago i spent december in n out of hospital......
thinkin of u all (ull need a holiday after this - dcr perhaps????)

I had two very scary, stressful pregnancies, which ended with two very tiny babies. 3lb mark. Be strong and make sure she is as positive as possible. these little babies are so resiliant and strong. AM sending you all my prayers, and I pray that both mummy and baby stay strong and healthy for the rest of the pregnancy, however long that it. xxxx :wizard:

Thanks for all of your lovely messages!
We had a nice long chat last night after Kacee was asleep and we are both feeling more positive now.
The main problem is that Ellie refuses to slow down...she has been signed off work for a week but last night was planning which of her friends she should meet up with :confused3 I've banned her from going anywhere but her Mum's and asked all of her 'friends' to say that they are busy until after Xmas in the hope that she will actually try and slow down!!

12-19-2008, 06:16 AM
so - shes being a typical woman then????
good on u for trying to plan everything so she can slow down - maybe if she desperately wants to meet up with friends - that they come to her (and make their own drinks??)
i know its hard - i was put on bed rest on 23rd december before cayden was born, and i found it very hard - but luckily we were at my mums on xmas day so i was able to rest a lil - but i know how hard it is - espec if she normally likes to be the centre of the planning.....
tell her shes just got to get into jan, and the more days she keeps bubs 'safe' the better at the other end - 35 wks shud be the magic date....
stay strong - thinking of u all

If doctors have told her she needs to rest.. then make sure she does. I had to spend 9 weeks in hospital on bedrest with my first.. yes.. 9 weeks! And that was only for health of baby... no preg condition etc.. for growing and thriving reasons.. so i could carry baby as long as possible. He ended up being born by planned section at 34 weeks, weighing 3lbs. He is now huge strong healthy gorgeous lad!
If doctors havnt told her to rest... but your just being lovely hubby and worrying.. let her see her friends. she might need the chearing up! As everything can sometimes seem a little "blue" when pregnant.
My love to you both and your gorgeous little growing baby.

Hi,
I just read your post and wanted to reply to say that you and all the family are in my thoughts and prayers. I am Rh Neg myself and with my little bundle we also had problems and concerns (and some painful injections in my rear parts - sorry TMI there!). It must be frightening for you both but I'm glad to read you are pulling together and that you are taking steps to make life easier on Ellie (and the baby!). She might be 'resistant' just now (coming from another independent woman who refused to slow down... ;) ) but she will thank you in the long run.
Here's hoping bubba stays in a little longer. And the smaller they are the more they thrive when they get out. They are almost always little fighters. My DD was 4lb 12oz at 38.5 weeks and now she's a wee bruiser (so to speak!). She also eats like a horse!
Keep us updated and if you want to give Ellie a reason to keep her feet up, sign her up on here and we'll all keep her amused... you just might struggle to get her back off it once the baby arrives.
Hugs to you all...:goodvibes

Sorry to read this - not been on for a little while. I really hope the scan works out OK on Monday and Ellie can keep the baby inside for as long as possible.
I know it's nowhere near ideal, but 30 weeks is the cutoff in most hospitals for prem babies so it's good she's got that far at least :)
Will be thinking of you all.
PS - I too had difficult pregnancies for one reason and another - with my second, although I did need to slow down I was never really able to - a toddler takes a lot out of you and you always 'as a mother' feel that you have to be in control/look after your baby no 1.... I know it's no excuse but that's how I felt.

Well today is D-day (or S-day really :lmao: ) I think we just about managed to keep it together over the weekend although this weekend we argued quite a bit (which we never, ever do!)
Hopefully come 2:30 today all will be clearer! Thanks to the magic of my iPhone I'll let everyone know the news as soon as I've got any for y'all.
