Seems like a waste of points especially when you factor in MK view? Just me and my 8 year old son. Anyone deal with this?

It is purely personal choice. Obviously with only 2, a studio may be plenty enough. Then there are undoubtedly many like us, for whom one of the reasons for purchasing DVC was so we would never have to stay in a single hotel room or studio size room again because we place a very high premium on the extra space and having a living room and kitchen.

Not for the "5" of us. Cant use a studio. The BLT 1BR is as good a deal or better (and some views are a lot less) than most 2BR's required for 5 at the other resorts. But yes, for just 2 it is a lot. Its a lot more anywhere for just 2 I think.

A studio is good for those who won't feel crowded with only one room and one bathroom and who don't plan to eat many meals in room (due to the more spartan cooking area). A 1BR makes more sense if you are going to eat in-room more or want the dual bathrooms and two bedrooms.

For myself and my wife, a studio is plenty good. If we had teenagers, though, a 1BR suite would be more comfortable.

For 2 people, I would say a studio is perfect, again, as others have stated, unless you wanted the extra room, kitchen etc etc. It's just my wife and myself, but after we saw the 1 bdr, we were simply in love with the room it gave us. So studio vs 1bdr is going to be such a personal decision :)

The problem is the bed as the studio looks like it has small bed. My son moves around too much to share a bed. How comfortable are the sofa beds?

It will be a queen sized bed and a double sized pull out sofa bed. I'm guessing the sofa will be the newer type which tends to be the memory foam type. No "bar in the back".

I dont think the studio has 2 queens at BLT (like OKW) do they? What was your plan for the BLT studio? Or do you just want info on the 1BR pull out chair?

Depends on the size of the bed and sofa bed. I may get a 1 bedroom for bigger bed. But, we wont be doing a lot of cooking (none).

I do cook - have too many food allergies and the kitchennett works fine for me.

studio are great.

the only thing I miss at times is the whirlpool tub. but hey for the point saving don't really need it. all DVC resorts have spa (whirlpool) in the pool areas.

the laundry mat works just as fine for me - as having a washer/dryer in the room. hoping this one is on the first floor near the pool - so can do my pool time while I wash clothes.

now to wait.....

that say if you were bringing a teenage girl -then the 2 bathrooms in the 1-bedroom would come in handy.

We stayed the night before the September Member Cruise in a BWV studio and several days after the cruise in a one bedroom. Just my DH and I. We really felt cramped in the studio, but for one day it was not a problem. If we were going for our entire trip, we would definitely book the one bedroom even if it were just the two of us. Depends if you have enough points, of course.

If a hotel room is okay for you, then a studio will be fine. If you want more space, more room, you'll want a one bedroom at least. We don't do studios in this family. We like to live in our room and not just sleep.

DH and I could stay in a studio without a problem, but I really like the jetted tub and the extra space.

In summer, I'm not in the room much (3-4 hours in the mid-day and then 2am or so to sleep) so a studio would be great. Off season with shorter hours I can see us staying in the room, watching a DVD or saving money by cooking so a 1 bdrm would be better.

DH and I prefer a 1BR mostly for the washer and dryer but also for the extra bathroom space.

As I said in my earlier post, it will be 1 queen sized bed and one full size sleep sofa in a studio. The one bedroom will have a king bed in the master plus a queen size pull out bed in the living room AND a pull out twin size sleeper chair. There will also be two full bathrooms in the 1 bedroom.

We rarely if ever stay in a studio even when it is just two of us. We really like the feel of a suite versus a hotel room.
