Free Pin at Auto Plaza

Starting December 18, Disney World will be giving away a certificate for a free pin at the Theme Park Auto plazas. The certificate can only be redeemed at Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom, Pin Central in Epcot, Sorcerer Hat Shop in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Island Mercantile for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The certificate is only good for the day it is issued. This offer only applies to guests that pay for parking and receive a parking pass and does not apply to Annual Passholders and Resort Guests.

Why ??????? Would we not rather they take down parking costs than give away pins :headache:

We tend to stay offsite and if we visit everyday for xxxx amount of days the cost of parking soon mounts up - I supoose if you have a stack of pins you could sell them on fleebay to recoup your costs :confused3

Just a small gesture that they didn't have to do. I thought it was a nice thought.

Mickey must think that the ap holders/on-site people will be willing to pay parking at least once to get the pin.

How about they keep the pin and let us park for free ?

Ugh, this is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of........ I am not a pin person and would rather them knock off a few buck off the already ridiculous parking cost.

I wonder if this is a indication that they are gonna raise parking cost again and offering a free pin is Disney's way of softening the blow :confused3

Oh, and why whould a AP holder pay $12 to get a "free" pin they could pay less for?

I am OK with this- I'd prefer them knocking a few bucks off the parking fee, too, but everyone knows Disney won't lower the price of parking. So, getting a pin for free each day I pay that $12 to park is kind of nice, IMO. DD is a real pin trader, and she would probably want to spend some $$ on pins anyway, so this will be a way to supply her with traders at no cost to us. We will be paying to park 8 or 9 times during our next vacation, so we will DEFINITELY be getting every free pin offered.

I'll tell you what, if any of you ever want to pay to park in my driveway -- I'll give you two pins! :cool1:

I have, I got them yesterday :yay: :yay: :yay:
They're awesomes, and you sent me some purple ones, which gladly is my favourite colour, and my university's colour. It was also quite funny explaining to my mum why I'd been sent an envelope from WA with mickey heads in.

I'm glad you received them as I wasn't sure if I put the correct postage on the envelope. (Your mum probably thinks we're all crazy!

On of the UK Disers picked up their pin today and reported on the boards

Just to let you know they are not special pins.
We picked ours up today from Epcot and they just have a bin full of pins that they cant shift.
We ended up with a HSM3 one......

I am speechless :lmao: ( wish I had been yesterday ;) )
