We're going to Discovery Cove 5/3/09 and I'm hoping someone can answer a quick question: Are the meals served buffet style or is it counter service?
Thanks!

Buffet style and REALLY GOOD! I was surprised that all food and drinks are included in the price of admission.
You'll have a blast! :thumbsup2

Thanks - couldn't find that on the website.
My parents have gone 3 times (they brought our son last year) but this will be DH and my first time. Can't wait!

I have been to Discovery Cove 6 times and lunch was never buffet style. I would describe it as very upmarket counter service. You get in line and tell one of the staff what you want. Each dish comes with certain sides, but they are pretty good about subsitutions. You then pcik up your salad and your desert. You can got through the line as often as you want.
Breakfast however is buffet style.

This will be our first time and DH is a big eater. Just don't want him to "starve" all day.

There is no chance of this happening as the portions are huge and as I said, you can come back as often as you like as long as the restaurant is open. There are also huts around the park that offer drinks and snacks that are all free of charge.

Thanks for the info, DolphinGirl47.
Do you happen to know anything about the cabanas they have to rent? I spoke to a cust. service rep who said they use them for private parties but if there aren't any parties scheduled, you can call 3 wks prior to your visit to rent one. Just wondering if it's worth it.

No, unfortunately I don't know anything about the cabanas. I know that they use them for at least one of the special occassion packages. I know that the prices for the Cabanas at Aquatica are silly high and I expect the cabanas at Discovery Cove to be even more expensive. Personally I thing that a day at Discovery Cove is a pretty full day and you ould most likely not get your money's worth out of both the partk admission and the cabana.
