We are going Oct 24th thru Nov 1st ... we went two years ago during Halloween, and it was great! Crowds weren't too bad, and it's cute seeing all of the kids dress up on Halloween. The Epcot Food and Wine Festival is fun too!

We will be there too -- 10/24-11/1/09, can't wait -- went this past year and can't imagine not being back at Halloween, loved MNSSHP, had a blast trick-or-treating at Fort Wilderness! Halloween is DH's birthday -- he said a few nights ago that he wants to keep returning to Disney on his birthday as long as he can, which sounds great to me!

Although we've never been to MNSSHP, we hit Downtown Disney one year for trick-or-treating; was soo much fun! Loved the squares Ghirardelli gave out, lol. Have fun next year!:hmghost:

Dh surprised us all on Christmas with a completely paid for trip starting on 10/24 and ending 11/7. Yup you got that! TWO whole weeks of Disney bliss. We have never been this time of year and we are really looking forward to it. I think the reason my dh booked this time of year is because his bday is the 27th, and he has always wanted to spend it in WDW.

I just booked DH and I for Oct 9-16. Our 20th anniversary is Oct. 14, and since we never had a real honeymoon, we're thrilled to finally have one. Staying at Coronado Springs resort, and leaving the kids home with grandparents. Yes, we're mean, but they're still too short and we'll bring them back in a couple years.
I've only been to WDW once, about 2 years ago as a "girls weekend" with a bunch of relatives, and DH has only been to Magic Kingdom over 20 years ago when he was in the navy, so we're like a couple of kids with how excited we are! :cool1:
Just booked our accomodations. we will be there Oct. 17-24. We are staying in a condo this time. I'm amazed at how much more economical a condo is compared to a hotel!!!!

My daughter and I are going to arrive on 10/24 and stay til 11/1! (for my monumental birthday pixiedust: ; and DD's first year in high school :hyper: )
DH doesn't know yet, It's my birthday present to myself, and well, to my daughter too... I love mother/daughter trips!
DS and I went last year for MNSSHP (2 nights ~ one ToT and 1 for dress up and rides. ~ the first night it POURED! ~ that was the ToT night!)
DD and I are looking forward to MNSSHP on 10/31 (hopefully we'll get tickets! ;) ) We're also going on the 25th (if there's a party that night)
We're staying at the airport for our 1st night in town ~as we're getting in around midnight... then we'll head over to the AKL (1st night); CSR (nights 2-6); and Poly (nights 7-8). Thank goodness for 40% off.
We're looking forward to hanging at the parks, chilling out by the pool, and having a great time... hope the weather cooperates!

We are going for our 10th Anniversary and my partner's birthday. We are going to be at that Hilton 10/13 to 10/21. We are staying free on points. While we will have access to EMH, I doubt that we will use it because, since this trip is more about celebrating Corey's birthday, I doubt that I will be able to get her up and out of the room before 10 am most days. She is more of a "vacations are for sleeping in" sort. I am not, but it will be ok. I can commando my way through my solo trip in April. ;)

Just booked a cabin at Fort Wilderness for Oct 21st-26th. I have never been around Halloween and am looking forward to it. This is a first time trip for my neice, Kenzie, princess: who turns 7 the week before we come and I will turn 38 the week before also. We are going to celebrate our birthdays while we are at the World! Also joining us will be my DD (16), DMIL, DSIL & DBIL (Kenzies parents) DSIL has only been to the Magic Kingdom once and it was years ago so I am so excited planning this trip for them. I love my DSIL and neice with all my heart and am so happy I get to experience her first visit. I am a huge fan of Mickey Mouse-I was even born in Oct 1971!!! It was destiny!! :rotfl2:

Maybe someone can answer this. We have talked to a travel agent about booking our trip (Oct 10-21) and they think going at that time is a mistake. They recommend going at the end of Oct. instead of the beginning. I kind of thought that we were going towards the end of the middle. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3
Why would you not go then? Is it going to be a lot busier? I know the weather is warmer in Sept and you have to worry about hurricanes. Is there something else I am missing?

i think what you have planned is good.
i always leave orlando the day after columbus day.
i find more crowds tend to come in at the end of the month.
you will have F & W, mnsshp for the time period you are going.
weather is still good for the middle of the month.
from what i have read in trip reports and threads, it seems like more crowds are at the end of the month.
i have been going early october for the last 9 years.
i have no idea why the TA suggests you change your dates. are there more discounts at that time?? :confused3

Sorry, BLT is Bay Lake Towers which is the new Disney Vacation Club resort. It's attached to the Contemporary. The POFQ is a very nice resort. I always wanted to stay there but could never afford it. Enjoy it for what it's worth because honestly for me staying anywhere on property before we bought DVC was a pleasure.

Count me in for the week of Oct 16th - 23rd! I am taking my niece who will graduate from high school this June (where is the praying smiley when you need one??;) ). Our tentative dining plans:
Food & Wine Festival!
Boma
Cape May
Chefs de France
Liberty Tree
Trails End
Tusker House
and either Chef Mickey's or Hoop de Doo for arrival night
I'm looking forward especially to Chefs de France. On our past trips, I could not get picky DH to try it. DN has three years of high school French, but has never experienced French cuisine. It will be a treat for both of us.
... and did I mention :woohoo: Food & Wine Festival!

October 9-17th. We are staying at POP, which I LOVE and can not wait to have the unlimited coke slushies!! :yay: This will be our first time to go in October and I can not wait. Does anyone know what the weather and crowds look like for this time???

We are thinking of going Oct 10-17. Please tell me about MNSSHP--wondering if this is worth it and if it will be going on while we are there. Also, wondering about crowds and weather. We have teacher conventions that week so I don't know if it will be a popular destination that week. Thanks for any help.

Woop, we booked our trip for Oct 13-19th last night!!!! We just finished our first trip to WDW and are so completely hooked. It will only be me and my younger sister this time, as my older sister has already used up most of her vacation time.
This will be a bday celebration for my sister. Her actual bday isn't till the 29th but I can't get those dates off work. So, it's an early celebration but we're okay with that. We'll also be tent camping this time at Fort Wilderness, which will be fun and will save money! While we'll miss the Pop, it just doesn't fit within the budget.
Our TS list is still in the works, but here is what we have so far, all dinner:
Ohana's
Cinderella's Royal Table
50's Prime Time Cafe
Le Cellier
Hoop Dee Doo Revue
Planet Hollywood
We've already been to Hoop Dee Doo, Le Cellier, and 50's and loved them. It will be exciting to try a few new things as well!

I'm going to be there 10/31-11/7 and I cannot wait!! Me and my BF want to go to the MNSSHP on Halloween night - When can we buy tickets for this? Does it sell out right away?
The HP tickets go on sale on 05-01. I'm not sure if they sell out right away since our TA got them for us last year. I also plan on going on the 31st. I would just try to buy them as soon as they go on sale.

The party is by ticket only. The rides are still going for all of the party so the lines are a bit shorter. The parade was pretty cool to watch and the Headless Horse man was riding around. We went TOT and it was cool to see charaters you don't see all the time like Alice in Wonderland and that whole story. There was lots and lots of folks dressed up in costumes. All in all it was a great night and we are staying the extra night just to join the party.

It"s official! we're booked for Oct 2-Oct 9! It will be DH and I, DD, her DH and the grandkids, 7 and 2. Celebrating DGS's 8th Bday on Oct 4th. :cool1:
My only worry now, is that my DD reserved 2 - 1 bdrm rooms for us through her time share (RCI), and we are in 2 different resorts!!! OKW, for me and DH, SSR for DD and her family. We will keep trying to get in to the same one, but they will charge us to make changes.
Has anyone out there done this ? We want to eat nearly all meals together, and I know my DGS will want to stay with us mostly. The resorts are about 1 mile apart, and I check transportation and stuff, but it will definitely be inconvenient.
So, at this point, I'm afraid to get to excited about the resort, because that could change. But I'm so happy to make it official!!:cool1:

Right now we're going to book at CSR, but I'm hoping for an AP discount that will make it feasible to move up to the Yacht or Beach Club.

We'll be there for a few days in Oct...Just booked from Sept. 26 through October 4th.
Looking forward to be at BCV with DH, His DD and SIL, 5yr old DGS, 2 1/2 yr old triplets (1 DGS & 2 DGD) and 1 yr old DGD. We stayed there a couple of years ago when the triplets were 7 months and had a great time. My stepdaughter asked if we could go back there again, so we were thrilled when we had no problem getting a 2BR there.
I'm so happy we'll be there for the F&W Festival...I always really enjoy that.
We're also waiting for SW to book our flights...have 2 free flights to use.

Thank you, it's something i really enjoy doing, and my nephews love it cause they get to eat any extra cake and frosting. i imagine a fridge would be handy with two little ones, i couldn't imagine taking my nephews to disney world that would be so much work, we do Disneyland every few weeks but only about 3 hours at a time. My daughter's good friend moved to Florida 2 yrs ago. I'm thinking of asking her Mom if she could spend a few days with us. We have never been down at that time of year. It's feeling real now! Yay October!

We're in for October 9-19th at CSR. Going to MNSSHP on 10/13 in costumes. Really looking forward to Food & Wine Fest also since I love to eat and try new foods ::yes::. Trip was originally planned for 6/2, but had to reschedule because of recent surgery. Gonna still be somewhat ride restricted in Oct. so I'm gonna compensate by eating well (F&W and ADR's) :thumbsup2. I was worried about crowds, but I can't believe they could possibly be worse than when we usually go in early June.
It seems like weather wise despite October being a prime hurricane month, typically Orlando has fairly nice weather.
Average temperature-75°
Average high temperature-84°
Average number of days above 80°-25
Average precipitation-3.9 inches
Average number of days with thunderstorms-3

We're going down from Oct. 25-30. Staying at BC for the first time (really looking forward to some pool time there). Originally planned the trip around our DD's fall break from school. DW and I were so excited about MNSSHP that we forgot about Food & Wine festival until just a few weeks ago. That's the cherry on top of the sundae. Mmmmmm...sundaes. Good thing Beaches & Cream will be close by. Can't wait to make my ADRs in July.
