Here is the mini update about Treyner's visit...

I picked him up from the airport and had dropped the other 2 off at Mall of America under the guise that I had business to deal with and surprise them that he was in town because I had not told them.

Treyner and my plan was to have Carsyn and Baylor stand in a store that has loads of Sponge Bob characters and take pics for our Christmas card. Treyner would come behind them and get in the pic and then put his arms around them to surprise them.

I called the younger ones and arranged a place to meet saying I was back from my business deal. As soon as I saw Carsyn I knew she knew! :headache: She was laughing and giggling and her eyes were shiny. Baylor looked like he had swallowed a Cheshire cat and had the biggest grin. I asked them as non-challant as I could, "What's so funny?"

Carsyn said, "What are you hiding?"

I asked her what could I possibly be hiding?

"My brother," she said all proud.

I tell her I have no clue what she is talking about.

She tells me she saw on facebook this morning Treyner's roomate at 1 am said he had to get up at 4 am to take Treyner to the airport.

Frickin Facebook!

I tried to budge that around the fact he is traveling to SC in a few weeks and told her he was going early.

I looked at Baylor and he was just grinning and saying he did not know what to believe.

So I took them over to the Nickelodeon store and Baylor agreed to take some pictures while Carsyn sure she was right, looked all over for Treyner.

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/MOA%209-17-09/P1020968.jpg

She finally agreed to get into the picture and Treyner with sunglasses on came around from the back of the store.
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/MOA%209-17-09/P1020969.jpg

She saw him and that was it! She starts crying, he starts hugging both of them and Baylor is wiping more tears from his eyes than I thought possible. I think Treyner was taken aback at how old he was looking in just 2 1/2 months and how much they both adore him.

This picture was taken just moments after and Baylor has never had a more genuine, happy smile. I think I will use this for holiday cards this year.

I had a friend who had given me unlimited ride wristbands for the indoor amusement park there so the kids spent the next few hours on rides and just enjoying the heck out of each other.

This ride is like Buzz Lightyear/Toy Story without the greatness of Disney.

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/MOA%209-17-09/P1020980.jpg
I love this pic because it is so my kids. Treyner asked Carsyn if she wanted to see how strong his hands had gotten. She said sure and he play slapped her on the forehead. (I found this out after because I was asking them to look my way and all of a sudden the boys were laughing at her and she was holding her head. Don't feel bad for her - she gave him a dead leg ten seconds later.)

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/MOA%209-17-09/P1020986.jpg Baylor seems to be looking more mature lately.

This ride is like a huge skateboard that twirls you and shoots you back and forth on a big ramp.

Baylor tried to see if he could reach as far as Treyner and Carsyn offered to give him a boost!

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/MOA%209-17-09/P1020999.jpg
Then it was bumper cars and my kids being overly competitive decided they would manually push their cars into position to have the best take off and smash while everyone normal was just happy to sit and get buckled in.

Treyner did not think out the process of what the floor would do to his hands!

Then my niece Skyler came!
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/MOA%209-17-09/P1030009.jpg

We left the mall about 7 p.m. went home and had a nice night. Next day was Skyler's birthday and then the kids stayed with Chad and he took Treyner to the airport at 4a.m. to head back to Colorado.

Ahh...the fair. You know, I am a native MN, lived in the state for 22 years, and have NEVER gone to the fair! Does this mean I lose my MN citizenship card?

Love the pics of the kids at MOA. Treynor looks like he is surviving his first year of college just fine. And I think that Carsyn is going to have to beat the boys off with a stick for prom this year. If not, let me know and I'll send some hot dancer boys up to take her!

I can't imagine. That woud be akin to someone living in Florida and not going to WDW. Maybe you need to visit this summer. ;)

The fair looks amazing! We used to go to the SC state fair every year when I lived there (I even got engaged at the fair), but there's not a cool fair to go to here.

Your kids are just gorgeous!! I love seeing pictures of them together. It is so obvious how very much they enjoy being together. I hope my 2 grow up to be friends like that -- right now all they do is fight!

Mine still fight but are voraciously loyal. Treyner and Baylor are best friends - Sat night Treyner and he slept in Treyner's old room/Baylor's new room in the same queen bed watching movies and chatting all night. the new guest room - untouched! :rotfl2:

Treyner said it was because he had been dreaming of sleeping in his own bed since the dorm. I know a huge part was they miss the heck out of each other.

I think we should plan a huge meet up her next year for the state fair. We have got a tent that sleeps like 8 and can borrow more plus have a 5 bedrrom house...plenty of room and we could help it be innexpensive for all of ya!

OMG all that food looks so yum....mmmm....can I come next year?!

The kids look like they had so much fun at the MOA!! Hearing how much they missed each other makes me want to cry! I miss having sibling bonds. I just have one brother and he's gotten into some pretty bad stuff and pretty much only talks to our family when he needs something. :sad2: I love hearing all about your kids though! I'm glad you are all so close!!

Just found a haunted house called -"The Soap Factory" here in downtown Mpls.

http://www.soapfactory.org/

They have you sign a waiver to enter and you have to be 18 or older. They touch you in this one and they seperate you from your party. It involves tying you to a wheelchair and scaring your organs inside out. They have a special lab that made different scent of decaying things ad sewage to add to the fun.

One room invloves a corn maze. Yes a room. The corn BTW is hanging upside down from the celing.

A radio talk show guy I listen to is sooo funny. He went last night and said he has never prayed to so many people in his life. Willfred Brimley and Mariah Carrey included! :lmao:

I would have a heart attack and die and I guess they warn you that death can happen from the fear level here.

NO WAY IN Hades!:scared1::sad2:

So my kids have these crazy pet names for body parts..think along the lines of HooHoo and Haha...yes, I know nuts...maybe they are related to Dawn..Anywho....
I started telling the kids that its important to know the real names of body parts because if you have to tell someone like a doctor about pain in a bodypart you can not say I have pain in my HooHoo..or you might get this response:confused3
So yesterday at football my four year old was acting like a crazy psycho child. I asked her where the heck did you come from? She replies with I crawled out of your Vag*#@.....:scared1: Yes my child....and in front of other moms.
On a good note I got a high five from one mom for a four year old knowing what the correct name was..... :woohoo:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
That's as good as (sorry I'm a newbie and gonna highjack for a sec) the one my friend told me about...one of her friends and husband taught their young son correct body parts and all and then taught the almost three year old that you should NEVER allow anyone but mom, dad and grandma to touch you on your private parts and only for the reasons of cleaning you or to put medicine on you and if someone else does you need to yell loudly that someone is touching you inappropriately, until someone comes to help you.
Welllllll, they go to the doctor for his annual check up a few weeks later.....I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this...... and the docotor if of course doing his "thorough exam" (for you moms out there with only girls you'll see what I'm talking about here in a few seconds), :) and of course on que the little boys face is aghast at what is taking place and turning red!!! (poor baby) The doctor of course gets ahold of the look on this poor childs face and the doctor turns to the parents and says why is your child making that face??!!?? And before the parents could say anything, the child starts yelling "SoommeONE'S toUUUCHIN MY BAL*S, SoomeONE'S toUUUCHIN MY BAL*S!!!" Loud enough everyone in the back of the doctors office can hear him!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Needless to say the parents got a stern talking to, to include the doctor on this list once they explained what and how this happened. Out of the mouth of babes I tell ya.
I'm just wondering if the dad got a butt chewing from the mom for teaching him the word bal*s. :upsidedow

Treyner had girlfriends in- utero so for me nothin new. Seriously, he shaved his head into his first "bowl" cut back in the day at age 4 because a girl in his class had to have a shunt replaced and he did not want her getting teased being the only one with a head that was shaved.

So I have all these pictures of him and Jackie, she with a half shaved head and him with a bowl cut and his head totally bald underneath!

Millie - Thank you for sharing that story! I was laughing so hard!!

Carsyn has a huge head of hair. It thinned out after her surgery this past spring but it has it's own zip code. So the boys sitting next to her in the morning at the table, before she would have it tamed, would ask her to move her hair so they could eat. It is a running joke and she knows it and she usually uses it as a weapon. She has been known to ratt it like the 80's had never seen and come up to embarrass the boys with a 10 foot fro and a yetti yell :chewy: when they have friend over - esp. girls.

So last Easter they went with their Dad to Iowa. Treyner was driving and Carsyn and Baylor ran from Wal-Mart (a pit stop) to the car to get the passenger front seat.

Baylor was faster and Carsyn claimed she had called, "squatters" so she should still have first choice at that spot.

Baylor said, "no chance," :sad2: and took his place locking the doors.

Carsyn proceeded to plant her tukkus on top of the car hood, lying down and telling God and country she will not move.

Treyner starts honking the horn, flash his lights (it's night-time) and using his wipers to hit her head and spray her with wiper juice.

Within seconds, her hair gets tangled in the wiper blades and now her head is going back and forth with the wipers.

She is yelling for them to stop.

Their father who has zero control, is laughing so hard he is about to pee himself and is hunkering down in the back seat.

Treyner shuts down the wipers but Carsyn is totally stuck.

People who are walking by are now stopping and staring. :3dglasses

Carsyn says she is going to call the cops if Treyner does not get out to help her.:mic:

Baylor then rolled down his window and yelled to her that he has already called animal control and they are on their way because he told them they had hit a huge, rabid raccoon and it was stuck on their windshield. He asked for backup and tranquilizer darts.

Now I was not there but I heard everything from the point of the wipers being turned on because their Dad had called me so I could hear everything over the phone. :rolleyes1

I could not tell at first if he was crying or laughing because all I heard was soft gulps of air and screaming in the background.

I then hear the boys get out of the car. Baylor telling people who were bystanders and gawkers that he had the situation under control. :lmao: To please step away from the vehicle and leave plenty of room. He explained they had just picked up their cousin from a nearby mental hospital and she apparently forgot her meds. She has killed a coop full of chickens in New Mexico and could be violent.

Their Dad is now yelling he is going to have a heart attack - his breathing is so short he is in gasps of air trying to hold it together and Treyner is telling Carsyn to hold still or she is riding the rest of the drive like that. they have pictures on their cell phones of her hair and it is like a commercial for some frizz shampoo.

So yeah...Carsyn as an exhibit is perfectly in our corner of normal.

That was the funniest friggin story i've ever heard!! :lmao: Your kids are AWESOME!!

Ok, I think I would have slapped Captain Condom right up the side of his head. I dont EVER want to think about my parents having sex, protected or otherwise :scared1:

BTW - what is up with that? The south is known for deep frying everything!

They do fry pretty much everything down here (BTW -- deep fried dill pickles -- amazing!) but I have chronic stomach problems so I can't eat much fried food at all. In fact, I've never eaten cheese curds fried -- I just like to eat the cheese curds! Wouldn't they spoil if you sent them down to me? If we could find a way to make that work out, that would be cool.....

I'm having that same problem with my 15 year old DD. She really is gorgeous, and so smart, but she's incredibly shy. She thinks there are no boys interested in her (I know that's not the case but she's so shy that she comes off as unapproachable)...but of course I'm her Mom and she won't believe me when I tell her that she's pretty and that guys DO like her. :confused3

Skipping some chatter, I got caught up! I've been waaay behind. SOrry!

I loved all of the food pics you posted. That pizza on the stick looked the best. YOu would need about three stomachs to eat everything there, though! Trust me, I'd try.

The surprise with Treynor's visit - that was so sweet! Your Baylor is looking quite grown up these days. That was the first thing I noticed. He looks so good! Carsyn, well, she's beautiful, no doubt about that! Treynor - he's a looker. You know it, I know it, he knows it! But if his brother and sister look up to him like that, then you know he's a good guy! That makes me happy they have a brother like that. I wish I did! :goodvibes

Secondly, I wish our mall had rides like that! Cool! Skylar is an absolute cutie. My son would love to have that Spongebob hat Carsyn had. I hate Spongebob, but I tolerate him b/c Mitchell likes him so well.

Glad you are here and hope you stay!
Do tell of these huge room discounts and other perks?!? I've wanted to get a job at the Disney store for a long time now. If you think it to personal, tell me to mind my own bee's wax. :)
No not too personal. The discounts are all over the board. Tickets are only 2 one day passes a year per person in your family.

The deal we got is huge for the Holidays and a special code for the cast members...ready...

Wait for it...

60% off hotel and 50% off dining plan.:worship::cool1:

We are deciding between cheap or deluxe. No tickets included below...

6 nights at All Star Sports + reg dining = $750ish for 4
6 nights at the Poly + reg dining = $1800ish for 4

I am dying to decide. We originally booked at Value - today I changed it to Poly.

I mean what if I die? What if Dan does? What if Dan gets fired and can't ever go again at this deal? What if the economy goes up and they never offer that huge discount again? (From what I understand the 50% off is common but don't quote me on that.)

How for the love of what is holy can I turn down the POLY? The monorail? The smell of sweet flowers? The chance to get leid in a hotel lobby?:lmao:

So I made a vow to sell more jewelry than Joan Rivers on QVC and we will plan big. I was afraid I would not get a room there if we waited. If the money is short - there will be room somewhere else cheaper right?

Tell me what you guys would do? I am so frickin excited and this would be a surprise for the kids. They think All Star and will not find out until we pull in if I can pull this off.
That was the funniest friggin story i've ever heard!! :lmao: Your kids are AWESOME!!

She thinks there are no boys interested in her (I know that's not the case but she's so shy that she comes off as unapproachable)...but of course I'm her Mom and she won't believe me when I tell her that she's pretty and that guys DO like her. :confused3
That is my Carsyn exactly!
Skipping some chatter, I got caught up! I've been waaay behind. SOrry!
Hello!!!! - I am way behind too. Busy with work and my new excersize regiment! Need to post 2 updates tonight!
Treynor - he's a looker. You know it, I know it, he knows it! But if his brother and sister look up to him like that, then you know he's a good guy! That makes me happy they have a brother like that. I wish I did! :goodvibes
Treyner is a really good man. He loves those 2 fierce.Secondly, I wish our mall had rides like that! Cool! Skylar is an absolute cutie. My son would love to have that Spongebob hat Carsyn had. I hate Spongebob, but I tolerate him b/c Mitchell likes him so well.

I am okay about the Sponge;) but the hat's were fun to try on for the kids!

Wow, Amazing CM deals!! I say go Poly! :thumbsup2
I am really grateful and I am going to try like no other!
And I must have missed something - are you selling jewelry instead of tupperware now?

Yes - I really struggled after Baylor was burned figuring out my career path.

I will try and explain in a short manner.

Tupperware has minimums of sales needed to maintain your title. You have 4 months to miss them in a year and after that you are stepped down to where you are preforming at. I missed 4 plus and went from Director to Consultant. If I wanted to get back to director and as important get the benefits of being a director (car/trips etc) - I needed to do almost double of a new person. (ex - you could earn a trip to Hawaii in as little as 6 months - assuming you meet the qualifications/goals - I needed to make 12 months of goals because I was once a director.)

I was not happy. I thought it was BS that I lost my title. Pay me what I earn - fine but strip me of 9 years of work selling over $130,000 team sales a year? Like at our confrences, they had me go to meeting for consultants since you attend training at your title. WTheck do I need basic training for? I earned 6 cars in 5 years, trips all over the world and now I felt like I was at the litle kids table at Thanksgiving. Plus if you are telling me I am preforming at a consultant level - fine - but why then just because I have been in the business before do I have to do more than anyone else building their business back and reap the rewards? I was resenting the business and it was not good for myself. I love the product. Just dissagree with their business principles.

So I spent the summer looking for something else that I would love to sell and could stand behind. I found it and am so happy I can't tell you.

I am now selling Silpada Designs jewelry and could not be more thrilled. Great pay, great service, great product and the hostess program is unbelievable. I am averaging $300 per party in income and the hostess gets the same in free product.

Anyway - that's the scoop. Maybe more info than you wanted to know but hard to explain why the big change in my life and it is.

Well I have to agree with you that those policies just don't seem right, especially after you have been with the company for so long! You would think they would be a little more understanding of your circumstances. I would have done the same thing, I'm glad Silpada is working out for you. :thumbsup2

Day 6 - Animal Crack is Whack

This day was one of the ones I looked most forward to for several reasons.

#1 I love animals and hence love AK.
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/WDW%20AK%2008/00000108-1.jpg
#2 Treyner had not been here in years and had never rode Everest.
#3 The boys are mammoth breakfast eaters and I had scheduled us for a Boma's breakfast. No issues getting them moving for breakfast food!

We really did get out the door fast and arrived at Boma's and was seated right away. Carsyn and I had enjoyed dinner there Easter of 2007 with a girls trip but the boys had never been there at all.

We had the most awesome waiter (Albert) and he and Treyner hit it off right away comparing who was darker and who had more muscles. He brought the Jungle juice out for everyone to try and made sure Dan had an XL milk since he is allergic to oranges and could not partake in the juice.

The boys had 2-3 plates each and with huge helpings of fruit, caramel rolls, bacon, eggs etc. Baylor had been told protein would help his burns (animal protein explicitly) heal faster and he never complained about Bacon! I am sure the chefs thought he was feeding the village back home with as many pieces as he was taking.

It really felt good though seeing him eat a big portion because it was the first time his normal appetite showed. There is the eating appetite and the gorging, 13 year old boy appetite and he was gorging.

I did not take any pics of the food. I think I was mesmerized watching him enjoy.

Here is Treyner and Albert.

When we left into the sunshine - we saw a Limo waiting for a bride.

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/WDW%20AK%2008/00000110-1.jpg

If I was going to get married here - this would be the car for me. Much classier than the standard dark town car IMO.

We hit AK and made our way back to the safari ride to try and see the most animals while they were up and moving. Carsyn again took over the Polly Polaroid role and I have more hippo bottoms and giraffe tongues than I can ever use.
*Side note - Chad's great Aunt had a son our age and he died a few years ago unexpectedly. He was great to his mom and they traveled the world together. Something she said has always haunted me since his funeral.

"When I looked back at the pictures of Paul and I and our travels, I have hardly any of us or even him. 10 million of the pyramids and the Taj Mahal but what I want to see right now is 10 million of Paul. I was so busy taking pictures of beautiful things that I missed the most beautiful thing right before me."

That my friends is God's truth. I would love more pics of my kids and me and my kids - who is going to want the gorilla form AK pic when I die? Hopefully they will hold onto the ones of each other.

Sorry for the sap but so true.

Here are the savannas of Afreeeca! Or the savanna of Central Floreeeeda, whichever you prefer!

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/WDW%20AK%2008/00000025.jpg

After capturing the poachers and skewering their kahunas over an open pit, we went to the Pangani Forest trail and walked amongst the plants and animals and became one with the dirt.

Can I say that there are the dirt people here. I mean you can tell the people who munch chocolate covered ants for Thanksgiving just because they can. Once I saw a woman talking to a butterfly. I leaned over to her and said she had to get real close because she was talking to a deaf butterfly and those tiny appendages were a bi@ch to read sign language from. :3dglasses

She just looked up at me like I was the weird one. :rolleyes1

Dan realizing he is the missing link. It actually impressed a 4 year old boy. I told him if his mom and dad would allow - I would make Dan sit real still so he could pick the fleas off of Dan's back. Dan did not fine my humor funny but the boy's parents sure did!

First of all, I love that picture of Treyner and Albert. Treyner is one cute cookie, for sure!! And his fun-loving personality just shines through in the pictures. Looks like a kid I would have loved to have taught! I can always tell the ones I would like...it's just a certain spark in their eyes.

I totally agree about the pictures. My husband is always so busy trying to get scenery pictures that he forgets to get good portraits of the kids. When my grandmother died, there were albums full of her pictures from her travels. While I know they were important to her, I ended up throwing most of them away because they didn't mean anything to me. I kept all the good pictures of her though.

You are such a thoughtful and thought-provoking writer!

That spark is also called mischief and he is full of that as well. Each conference I had his entire life was the teacher telling me what a great kid he was. Funny, personable...blah blah blah. Then I got handed his D or C! Baylor is the same personality. Conferences last night and how much he is adored. Then asking me to help work on his one liner impulse control because he says them, they are funny and then the class gets laughing and the teacher has to work hard at getting them back on track.

In a nut shell, they want to have dinner with my boys or see them in a comedy club or hang out on the golf course or at the lake just not in class! :lmao:

It's hard though because as a mom - I want them to have that personality - it will help them get through a lot. They make great choices about parties and drugs and the most important aspects in life. They will do fine in a career that suits their personality later on - just God help me help them get through high school. I also have no control over my mouth so how the heck am I supposed to help them? It's like asking me to control the color of theri eyes. It's a birth defect! :rotfl2:

You are such a thoughtful and thought-provoking writer!

K - perfect example of why you sound like a teacher I never had. I always could write and read well. Writing was something I wanted to do professionally for ever. Math though and most science...:scared1: Swear I still do not know my times tables. I took a test in 11th grade on right brain vs left brain at the UofM because they were doing a study on gifted students who did not excel in all aspects of school. Like most kids who were in what MN called the Omnibus program were great at everything. All classes and spent the whole day in accelerated classes.

Found out I was 98% right brain and 2% left. Tell me to help write a SA on something I never read and I will get an A. Tell me to do a math sheet and 2 presidential terms later we might have 4% accurate.

I always wondered why we are not like European countries that by 8th grade has kids taking courses that strengthen their focus on what they excel at versus dragging them through another 4 years of making them feel stupid. How many kids drop out of school/can't get into college because in the US - you are supposed to be good at everything. Then we tell you to find a job that has you specialize in a field.

I do not want my doctor cutting my hair and I do not want my hair dresser giving me an episiodemy.

I do not want my accountant worrying about what he will draw for this Sunday's newspaper cartoon edition and I don't want my architect serving as my legal counsel in a traffic accident.

So again - I ramble which is proof one sentence from you can cause my brain to rapid fire 80 different scenarios.

I have ADD. My name is Dawn. Glad to meet ya!;) :rotfl2:

I always like the mischievous ones that no one else likes. (My teammate says that I like the smart*** boys...he's probably right!) There's something about a kid that you can share a quip and a wink with and they get it... That's why I love teaching!!

I would have said I was all right brained too, until I started teaching Math. Something about explaining things to other people and all of the sudden you really understand it! (Of course, this is 6th grade Math. Don't you dare put me down in Calculus class! :lmao:) I actually teach accelerated Math now... I teach 6th grade Math to 5th grade kids.

But, I totally agree with you about helping kids find their strengths earlier. I think we would get a lot more kids to stay in school that way.

Also, I'll be at Disney with my best friend from December 20-23!

Way to make me start bawling in the middle of work!! That was such a sweet story. I can relate. I haven't had a family member die, but a boy I dated in high school died nearly 4 years ago and I always just wanted more pictures. I mean, I know some people do like their solo-WDW vacations and stuff...but I think half the magic in any vacation really is just having time to really be with the people you love and care about most, away from the normal stresses and busy-ness of real life.

I think you have so many great ones of your kids! I know you treasure them...even though your kids like to take all the goofy ones and not just take a normal one! You really have such a gorgeous family. I really hope the family I make for myself is like that one day. :goodvibes

And by the way...your responses to teachers are just like my mom's! I'd always get in trouble for talking and stuff and my mom thought it was just great that I wasn't shy!! But just wanted me to actually do my work too. :rolleyes1

Also, like you, I am TOTALLY right-brained and also gifted. When I was in 5th grade, my reading and writing skills were higher than all the tests they could do, so they just went with senior level. But I was always just at "grade level" in math and that was SUCH a struggle.

I hope you're having a good day!! Hope to talk to you soon!

One teacher when Treyner was in 6th grade put it a way I have never forgotten.
"Schools teach squirrels. It's great if you are a squirrel but if you are a rabbit - you are in big trouble." :lmao:

But, I totally agree with you about helping kids find their strengths earlier. I think we would get a lot more kids to stay in school that way.
Not just that but be able to be self-supported at 18-20. We all have known kids who are great mechanics and grow up to be great mechanics. Yet they can't go to school for what they want minus a few classes until 18. I could have told you I would never need Algebra when I was in 7th grade and be able to recognize the parts of an amoeba. Some kids would thrive being able to take trade classes at 15 and know their future is within their reach. If they change their ambition - they can go back to school for whatever. How many adults change their mind and career later that went to the typical U.S. school system? Frazzles me to no end.
Also, I'll be at Disney with my best friend from December 20-23!
We have to run into each other! Have to!

Day 6 - A Peep Show and a Brat!

After Carsyn finally made her way out of the Gorilla section and the boys took down their posters for a spare room to rent in our home (they were sure she was captured by the lead silver back and made his new concubine) we headed to Asia and Everest as well as Kali RR.

We rode Everest, then again and then I quit and the kids went on twice more. I don't care how many times I see that darn Yetti coming at me, it still freaks me out! Just the shadow gives me the creeps. Love being scared up until it happens then I close my eyes and beg for my woobie.

The kids though, can't get enough and the pics they took are so great. Here is a bunch from all the times they rode!

Boys screaming and acting scared to scare the poor teenage girls behind them. I was down on the stairs in the waiting area and could hear Treyner's girly loud scream above everyone else. :lmao:

We then decided to hit Kali and get wet. Well the best part was we got soaked and then when we left the ride, we heard whistles :rolleyes1 and they were not for Dan. :scared1:

They were for Carsyn who was wearing a cute cotton pink and white sundress with a thong! :rotfl2::rotfl: Now for normal families they would be shocked and outraged and humiliated. Not our family. I had tried to tell her to wear normal grannie panties when she wears a dress but who listens to MOM?

I laughed like it was the funniest thing I had ever seen because it was. So off we head to the bathrooms by Africa because we had plans to eat at Tusker House.

I believe she may have given me the bird at one point. The boys were not protective and blocking her @ss. Rather they were calling attention to her and putting their hats out for tips!

Treyner's words were if she was going to be that much of an idiot than he may as well be her manager!

Next Up...part II and what a smart girl I raised!

As always great updates and very funny chatter in between. We should be neighbors!!! My own neighbors hate me, I have the ugliest yard, I mow the grass once to their every 3 times.
My first year in this house I decorated for Halloween with skulls and witches and a couple of dead bodies (not real ones) after that a couple neighbors told me that for Christmas "On this street we only decorate with white lights and red ribbons."

So for Christmas I went TACKY!!!! right down to the Santa falling off the roof and his undies showing. (Roseanne Conner would have loved me) anyway I think you would be a great neighbor.

The story of Carsyn and her thong! Priceless. Did Treyner make any money of her? Jim has tried selling Reese quite a few times, he even tried trading her for a Bic Mac meal. It's a brothers job to torment.
Reese had fallen down the escalater stairs at the mall last week, Of course I am freaking out and drawing a crowd, "Reese? Baby? Are you OK?" Then I had Jim yelling " Reese, Go towards the light!"

Part II -

So Carsyn tried to dry out her dress as best as she could but to no avail and then guess what I saw coming out of the ladies bathroom?

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/WDW%20AK%2008/00000072.jpg

That girl where most will panic is a self sorter and rolled her dress down - wearing the tank under as a shirt and there you be - no wet butt for Mickey and Tigger to see! Plus she looked adorable.

The boys were not as happy as their walking peep show had disappeared and was back to Carsyn again. Dreams of making money off their sister were dashed yet again in one day!

Decided we were not as hungry as we should be to eat so back we walked to hit Nemo and Dino Land. It was the first time for Nemo and I had seen the Lion King on Broadway so was hoping for the same quality.

On the way we ran into the Cabbage Creeper.

Nemo did not disappoint and I would see it again. It was nice to be in air conditioning because it was warm that day!

We rode Dinosaur and here is me being a big chicken!
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/WDW%20AK%2008/00000096.jpg
I just realised that big man on campus looks like he was about 4 here! He has a habit of putting his fingers in his mouth when he gets nervous and here we are Oh I can't wait to show Baylor who is looking like, "Bring it on."
The kids rode Prime Evil Hurl and then we saw the stilt/ladder guys. They were really good!

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/WDW%20AK%2008/00000092.jpg

We finally ate at Restaurantosaurus.
Boys ordered:
Bacon Double Cheeseburger - apple slices or fries $8.09

Dan got:
8 Chicken Breast Nuggets - with apple slices or fries $7.69

Carsyn and I both ordered the:
Hot Dogosaurus - hot dog with apple slices or fries $6.59

For Dessert - more of the same...
Chocolate cake $3.59 or Carrot Cake $3.59.

I was getting tired of those same choices every day.

We were up to the point of the parade and found a decent spot by Tough to be a Bug. (Which I forgot to say we watched at the very beginning of the day!) This was when the first bummer of the day happened.

I like to plan like the next person and I am all about an itinerary/my way but some people are nuts. If something does not go according to their expectation they flip out.

We actually were sitting next to the inoperative Fast Pass dispense shelter and up comes a family of Dad, Mom and boy about 4. He is decked out in "Cars" gear so you know Mom did her clothes planning and had not just stumbled here from the turnip truck. Maybe her planning should have incorporated the smoking policy at WDW.

Well she lights up a cigarette and people told her she could not smoke here. You would have thought she had been told she needed to give birth to Siamese twins ******lly with no epidural. :scared1:

She flipped out and said how stupid this place was and how she can't even take her F'n kid to see Mickey because all of us goodie goodies were ruining her time.

I tried to raise my hand and let her know my sons had just tried to pan handle their sister so I was not a goodie goodie but she would have none of that! :snooty:

So she leaves and heads across the street with the ropes up and the floats are coming. The poor husband just sat there and she is screaming at him to join her. Now you have both sides of the street and about 1000 people involved in her bedlam.

He gets up, grabs his son and follows her. He said before he left that this was the last straw and he was done. For that poor boys sake I hope he was serious because that little boy did not deserve to grow up with a Mom like that.

The parade was good but that tantrum affected all of us left behind. We were shell shocked and the side we were on was too quiet for comfort. Baylor asked if we could adopt that boy. He felt really bad. It didn't ruin the rest of the day by any means but I wanted to slap her and tell her what was important and what example she was setting that her stupid cigarette meant more than her joy of watching her son.

Here are some pics from the parade and then I will finish up the day in part III!

You are awesome!
So for Christmas I went TACKY!!!! right down to the Santa falling off the roof and his undies showing. (Roseanne Conner would have loved me) anyway I think you would be a great neighbor.
Same here - I think my neighbors would like to throttle me most days. My goal is to suck the wattage out of the neighborhood with as many lights as Chevy Chase can handle!

Freakin hilarious! Treyner has said to Carsyn that she will never die because, "Bumbles Bounce!" :lmao:

I will tell her that! I keep thinking the kids should do the Amazing Race.

How do you miss the scary big hairy beast on the wall or him screaming at you full force with rotten, flesh breath? Do they sell liquor at AK? :lmao:

OK, I'll tell you exactly what I would do. Go to the POLY!!!! :lovestruc
Your right in that you may never get another chance to do this again!

Is the 60% off normal for CM's for resorts, and 50% for dining your not for sure on. Wow! That's amazing! I think I need to get a part time job for the next, next big trip we plan.

I've been hearing that there are some major changes about to happen to the remaining Disney stores, and I want in to on it before they're all changed over, has Dan heard about the major changes to the store yet?

By the way.....a couple of questions....1)Did you give up Tupper Ware and when did you start selling jewelry? And are you two holding out on us, I noticed Dan is wearing a wedding ring in that picture about him being the missing link (which is totally halarious by the way :lmao:), did you two get hitched without us knowing.....or invited??!!??

Glad you are here and hope you stay!

No this is just a Holiday special to help boost travel - like they are having specials for guests.
I've been hearing that there are some major changes about to happen to the remaining Disney stores, and I want in to on it before they're all changed over, has Dan heard about the major changes to the store yet?
From what I gather they are going back to the more original style of the store, better clothing quality and selling what sells which is mostly kids clothes/items. Hopefully it will be back to the feel of Disney and not just a doctors office style store like now. Disney bought back the stores a few years ago after selling them. The moving pieces/characters that the original Disney stores had were not kept up so when they broke - they were not fixed and thus what the store looks like today.

He thinks it sounds like a good thing overall. As far as discounts - I think Disney right now is hurting and trying to boost sales so throwing big deals at CM's just like to the public.
By the way.....a couple of questions....1)Did you give up Tupper Ware and when did you start selling jewelry?
Yes - top post on page 36 will give you the info!
And are you two holding out on us, I noticed Dan is wearing a wedding ring in that picture about him being the missing link (which is totally halarious by the way :lmao:), did you two get hitched without us knowing.....or invited??!!??

No - not married yet. Promise. I wondered if someone would notice that!

Dan and I were in Colorado together after we dated for about a year plus. We went to this cute town and cute Irish shop and there were these rings on the counter. We tried them on and they fit both of our pinkie fingers exactly perfect and so we got them.

FF a few months and we are in MN, going on a tubing adventure down a river (slow river mind you) and he had lost weight and ended up losing his ring. He was really dissapointed and knew he had no chance of finding it.

So about 2 weeks from that day he was back in Colorado. On a lunch break he drove Mach 8 from Denver to this town to see if they had another one. They did -only a size 12 left and it fit his wedding finger.

He came home - (we were not living together even then) surprised me that he had replaced the one lost and asked if it was okay to wear it. He said he knew we would be together and he felt commited to me no different than if we were married and that was that.

Dan is the guy that most women dream to find. He is loving, caring and so not afraid to be sensitive that it astounds me. He thinks of me first almost all the time versus an after thought. I get back rubs nightly and there isn't a day he does not hold my face and kiss me and tell me I am the most beautiful woman he has ever known.

It's funny because I have never once worried about him not loving me. In my heart I have just always known he was true to me and to us and now to this new family we are blending and never looked back. I have had more happiness with him in a few years than I had in 16 plus with my ex and I can only hope I have taught my kids what love really looks like. That it is not self centered and not greedy and it is not something you question or live in fear of loosing. That you should not settle or be misserable in a relationship. I have a lot of friends who rejoice when their husbands leave hunting, for work etc and I used to get it. Now though, I have an understanding about what a better half is, what you have when you have your eyes set on each other.

People used to say it would not last and that it was just a honeymoon phase. Well 3 plus years later and tons of family drama on both sides, nastiness with ex's and some good too, job changes, the tragedy with Baylor and bills up the wazoo - it still feels great. Better than the first day.

The rings - BTW - say,

One Ring to Show Our love
One Ring to Bind Us
One Ring to Seal Our love
And Forever Entwine us.

I keep asking him if he wants to pick out a new ring for the weding ad we have looked but he wants this one. We will have to buy a few if we can cause it will not hold up forever!

This is the ring Dan gave me - don't think I have ever shown it here.

The smoking lady throwing her terrible hissy fit. :sad2: Makes me wonder if the DH meant he was done with the park that day or done with her?

Your story about the rings and how much Dan loves you. Tear jerker! You certainly have a talent for making people laugh AND cry! Your ring is so beautiful. It really is. Love the blue!

Here for your Halloween Pleasure is an interesting piece of info!

The story of the Jack o'Lantern comes from Irish folklore. Jack was a crafty farmer who tricked the Devil into climbing a tall tree. When the Devil reached the highest branch, Jack carved a large cross in the trunk, making it impossible for the Devil to climb down. In exchange for help getting out of the tree, the Devil promised never to tempt Jack with evil again. When Jack died, he was turned away from Heaven for his sins and turned away from Hell because of his trickery. Condemned to wander the Earth without rest, Jack carved out one of his turnips, took an ember from the devil, and used it for a lantern to light his way. He became known as "Jack of the Lantern."

Thought to tell you all this. Today is one year from the time Baylor was burned. Actually it happened right about 12:30 p.m. and it has been a weird feeling here. Baylor has been invited to go to a few friends places or trick-or -treating and he asked if he could stay home and get a fog machine, strobe light and scare some of the older kids. He said he wants to be home.

He is usually pretty excited about the Trick-or Treating part of Halloween and last year as we sat at the ER - was talking about that and what he was missing.

The last few days he has been pretty reflective and talking about the burn, how it happened and what he remembers. He is a big person on the sense of smell and the other day when we were raking, he talked about remembering the smell of fallen leaves as he was rolling in them trying to put himself out. It's hard fo me to hear at times because I hate so much I wasn't there and I still fight with guilt over what I could have done.

Yesterday, I cleaned out a bathroom closet that has held all these bags of Baylor's med stuff since last Halloween and through the spring. I have starightened it out since but was not ready to go through all things and pitch what we can't use etc. For some reason I was ready yesterday.

I closed the door to the hallway and truthfully, just cried as I sat on the floor seperating.
There was silvadine salve that they tried to use right after the burn to save him from being grafted. The smell is unmistakable (Silver has a healing component for burns) and inividual finger gauze we had to put on his left hand after we debried his skin and put this yellow medicated wrap on.

There were sterile wipes and wraps and so much extras. Scizzors and tweezers and wood sticks used to smear the medicated salves on without touching him. It hit me so hard how much those first 6 months sucked. How much he would cry and get so angry because he hated not being able to take care of himself.

Each piece had a different memory and visual of the seperate burns and when I went in the bathroom yesterday I had no intention of "This is the Day." It just sort of happened. I needed to go through it and I needed that time to sort and save and box up some supplies to donate. I just was not prepared for the feelings and the lump in my throat.

He is at that 13 age stage of talking and not talking at the same time. I went to his room 2 days ago and found him lotioning his leg after his shower. He does this every day, several times and then has to wait for it to dry to then put on the compression stocking. I watched him through his opening in the door and he was wiping tears away. I know his looks and he was frusterated. He still has no feeling in his lower ankle area and he hates not being able to feel what he sees when someone touches him there. Including himself. It just stinks that here we are a year later and still the reminents of that day are just as palpable.

Anyway - I will not write the rest of my AK day this weekend as planned - I will try and get to that on Monday. I am just not in a funny mood right now and we have family/friends coming over for a dinner for Baylor tom and I want to work on some surprises for him for then.

Sorry for rambling - I feel like you guys have been along since it happened and so letting my feelings out here is a safe place in some strange way.

As goofy as I get here, I want you to know that you all have truly touched me and my family in this journey and I can't imagine this past year without my friends here.

You and Baylor have both been through a tough year!

When I was young I went through a pretty traumatic injury... I cut my finger off....not as bad as baylor's but still traumatic and took a long time to heal. Now that it's been 30 years I look at my hand and what used to embarass me when I was young, is now a reminder of the lessons I learned along the way and how greatful I am.

I'm sure halloween will always remind you of this but as with all things, time will change your prespective. Mine happened on Easter at a family gathering. I still remember it every year, but now there's no sadness.

Dawn - the strength you and your family have is truly amazing. And the love and respect you have for each other is, unfortunately, mostly unheard of in this day and age. I am sending good thoughts to you and to Baylor today. And also to Carsyn and Treynor. I'm sure they have their own memories of last year and are fighting their own demons as well. I know you guys will come through it even stronger and more of a unit than you are now.

I hope you and yours have a great Halloween! Remember, the 999 happy haunts are roaming the earth today and will watch over you guys.

I'm so blessed and honored to just be apart of you sharing this aspect of your life, I don't take our Dis'er relationship for granted, I'm always mindful that your a real person with real life things going on and I pray for you on this annv.

Girl you got yourself a good man!!!! ::yes:: And I aint just sayin it because of the ring......although that would be a mighty fine deal clencher for me! ;)<said in her best exaggerated Texan voice she could muster up>

I suck as a fellow Dis'er! I've been holding on to wanting to wish you well and to encourage you because Halloween was approaching, and I missed it! :headache: I guess it's never to late to wish anyone well. :)

Can you be my real sister cause my youngest is a PITA. Yesterday I had planned a big dinner for family and she called 2 hours before she was supposed to be here to tell me that she would appreciate from now on if I told her exactly which people were comming to my house. That she did not know my mom and other sister were going to be there - she thought just her. (Mind you she lives with my mom with Skyler and sees Laura all the time and the three of us were all together 2 weeks ago for Skyler's birthday so what the heck is the big deal.) She explained that she feels attacked when we are all together and she is working with her counselor on boundary issues.

I explained that this was for Baylor and was not about her so if she didn't want to come then don't. She said she did not know it was a big deal to Baylor and anything to acknowledge.

I said if she was not such a self-absorbed person than maybe she might understand him almost dying, a month in the hospital and a grueling recovery would be a hard anniversary for him. Maybe if she talked to him once in awhile she would know something about him.

She again went back to the boundaries and learning coping skills and what to do when she feels attacked. Did not edven acknowledge Baylor at all.

Now if you are wondering why she uses the word attacked - I will tell you it is code for confronted and as a former social worker - I want to kick her counelor's @ss for giving her words she now uses as an out and to be a victim and to take no accountability for her choices.

Karen moved into my Mom's in the beginning of July. Moved 100% of her belongings there in the end of July. She pays like $200 to live there with her daughter, has 2 bedrooms in the basement as well as the living room downstairs to call her own. Laura and I and her were together in August and she said she was sick of Mom, Mom was so controlling...blah, blah, blah.
I agreed but told her she was doing Karen a huge favor and if she did not like Mom's rules or the way she ran her house than she can move. Karen said she could not afford to.

She also said, "Mom is not doing anything big for me," and when asked when she was planning on moving the stuff/organizing it from the garage so Mom can have it back to park in (she is 63 and it is her house ya know and that is one of Mom's complaints so we were trying to help her come up with ways to have things go more smoothly there that were in her control) Karen said, "It's not hurting her to park in the driveway."

So yeah, you 29 year old non-appreciative snot, when you act like a jerk, I am going to call you on it and if that means attacked in your vocabulary than put your military gear on cause I am going to start throwing grenades from a short range.

Again, this was a subject on August 29th and not discussed since (I have said my peace and it is my Mom's to deal with if she chooses to) and we were all together on October 18th at a birthday party so WTHeck would I assume I needed to give her my atendees list or should I since it is my home. If she would have asked, I would have answered but she did not and now she is complaining to me?

So she did not come and Baylor was really hurt by her not comming and he loves his only cousin on my side and if she was standing here in front of me I would beat her with her counselor.

My sister Laura is also a LSW and we want in on her next counseling session to ask what kind of Voodoo a person tells someone else to make them think it is okay to behave the way she does.

Soooory for the rant but I am so mad this morning still! :headache:

So - I am looking for a new sister and a better Aunt for my child. :snooty: I really do appreciate your words and at the same time it is sad that someone reading this thread can be more compassionate than someone who lives 25 minutes away and is supposed to give a sh!t.

I feel for ya... Luckily my PITA sister lives 6 hours and we only see her ever 6 months but the world still revolves around her... She's referred to as the "Golden Child"...

I haven't spoken much to her since she threw a hissy-fit about sending Mom & Dad on an Alaskan cruise for their 40th anniversary... She said "she didn't have the money"... But she has the money to fly to Vegas for the weekend to see a concert... And fly to New York and go shopping for the weekend... As long as it's all about HER she has the money... AUGH!!!

All PITA sisters need to be voted off the Island!!! :cool1:

ETA: I'm glad Baylor is doing well... My son is 11 and I told him what happened to Baylor last year... It's scary how fast something like that can happen...

Dawn - I volunteer to be your sister and the aunt to your kids. I am already so proud of 3 kids I have never met! In addition, I am the "fun" aunt - I always bring the Disney presents to my niece and nephew (even if it IS Hannah Montana who I have an intense dislike for.) Oh, and since I work in theatre, I can set up the boys with hot chorus girls. I wish I could help Carsyn, but most of the men I work with like other men. However, they ARE hot and they can dance so she would have a great prom date and they could check out the other hot guys together. Just throwing that out there.

I sincerely hope that you and Baylor had a healing aniversary. The family that was there are your true support and I hope Baylor feels the love. I also hope he feels the love and support from a bunch of people with computers who are too addicted to this place. We may not have met, but if/when I meet your kids, they are going to get huge hugs. So, place me in the running for openings in your family!

Hey Dawn! I hope you had a good weekend. Give Baylor a big hug for me. You are so blessed to have a son like him, and him a mom like you! Your family is going to have so many amazing, awesome memories together. I don't think this one will ever be easy to look back on, but I can tell with your family the good more than outweighs the bad. You have shared with us quite a lot on this thread from Captain Condom to the windshield wiper incident and the thong incident and just so much, and I bet its a mere fraction of all the good memories your family has.

Dan sounds great too! I'm so glad you found him. I'm not sure the whole background story with you and everything, but I'm glad you found him. I need to find a guy like that...I have been having such bad luck with guys lately. Recently, I wasn't even that serious with a guy, but he broke it off because of Landon. I knew that would happen eventually, but it was the first time that happened and it was just bad. :sad2: Oh well.

Can't wait for more. I wish I could give you a big hug right now!! You're such an awesome mom and all-around person!

Tell Baylor that he has a fabulous auntie in Tennessee who is willing to spoil him rotten. What does he like (brownies, cookies, extra Math homework?? :lmao:)

I can come up with one heck of a care package!!

I know a lot of cute high school boys too; although the commute would be rather killer...

I hope Baylor was able to surround himself with love from the people who care about him and know that he is a true miracle. I believe that these things happen to prepare us for the future, and he will be able to navigate his life knowing lessons that he has learned from this adversity.

12 years ago I was in a car accident and almost lost my arm. It is very scarred, a little deformed and for the first 2 years I couldn't move it much or feel much but at the same time could not stand to have a sleeve covering it. There were people who thought that they had the right to tell me to cover it up "are you not embarassed?" -- people whom I did not even know. I was 23 and luckily am not self concious about it (and tend to have a smart mouth...told one old bitty if she'd cover her face I'd cover my arm:lmao: --my mom was so embarassed...and proud:confused3) Anyway, after a few years, sensation returned to much of the arm and although still ugly it works about 95%. Baylor may not get all his feeling back but he is healthy and in a couple of years it will not affect him so much...But he will never forget.

I am so very happy for you to have Dan:love:. He sounds like a wonderful man. My DH and I had been together about 2 years when I had my accident...he stuck with me through 5 years of surgeries and rehab...I am very lucky to have him...he is a great father too.

Reading about your PITA sister made me so angry for you. I only have a brother and if he acted like that, i would soooo kick his @$$:rotfl: I think that your other sister and you talking to her councellor sounds like a very good idea. :thumbsup2 . I am sorry that Baylor was hurt by her attitude. Unfortunately, selfish people are just that selfish.:sad2:

Ok so it totally took me like 5 minutes to figure out what pita sister meant. Seriously I was thinking what does pita bread have to do with people. I'm such a dumb a$$.

Now that I have figured it out... 10 minnutes later ... you have such a great family. Don't let her get you down. Just remember at least you aren't living in your mom's basement trying to blame everything on everyone.

Personally I would write her a heartfelt letter explaining how you feel and how Baylor felt when they didn't attend his celebration. That you didn't think it was necessary to alert her that her own family woul be there including the family member that she lives with.

She sounds like a mess.
Being the smart A$$ I am (thanks dad!) I would totally invite her to stuff just so I could invite a ton of other people and then go over board on the warning her of who would be there.

Anyway on with the show... don't you have a trip coming up??? Lucky you! Isn't there a rule that says you have to finish your trip report becfore you can go on another trip???

I feel for ya... Luckily my PITA sister lives 6 hours and we only see her ever 6 months but the world still revolves around her... She's referred to as the "Golden Child"...
Karen is 100% developed from birth. I blame my parents. Does your parents see that or are they blind to it?
My mom yesterday when she was here, said, "Karen is just angry right now and you should understand she doesn't want to talk."

I said, "She called me!"

My Mom said, "Well even if she did you shouldn't have talked to her." :scared1::lmao:

That is the relationship and the problem in a nut shell. Laura said she was at my Mom's last weekend and Karen and Mom got in a fight and Karen was horribly cruel and my Mom went in the bedroom crying.

Yet like I said, she is an adult, if she wants to allow herself to be treated like that than so be it. I can't waste my energy defending or sticking up for someone who wants the relationship.
I haven't spoken much to her since she threw a hissy-fit about sending Mom & Dad on an Alaskan cruise for their 40th anniversary... She said "she didn't have the money"... Ego, party of one...Ego Party if One...We have you giant sized freakin table waiting for your giant sized head."

ETA: I'm glad Baylor is doing well... My son is 11 and I told him what happened to Baylor last year... It's scary how fast something like that can happen...
That is Baylor and my goal both - that kids learn from his incident and take fire and their lives so much more seriously!
Dawn - I volunteer to be your sister and the aunt to your kids. You can never have enough people that love you! Oh, and since I work in theatre, I can set up the boys with hot chorus girls. I wish I could help Carsyn, but most of the men I work with like other men. However, they ARE hot and they can dance so she would have a great prom date and they could check out the other hot guys together. Just throwing that out there. I will let her know and that sounds like the perfect prom date to me! No one to get jealous over and loads of dancing and fun!

I think the kids cannot believe the outpouring of human kindness from this thread and decency. They are touched and blessed!

Hey Dawn! I hope you had a good weekend. Give Baylor a big hug for me.
I will and thanks for liing us despite the crazy stories I have shared!
Dan sounds great too! I'm so glad you found him. I'm not sure the whole background story with you and everything, but I'm glad you found him. Just keep telling yourself his loss - and get a piece of paper and write down what you want in a relationship and in a man. Don't deviate from it and advice #2 - the "type" of guy you are attracted to - run from and pick the opposite. There is where you will find your match instead of finding the guy you want to fix.
Can't wait for more. I wish I could give you a big hug right now!! You're such an awesome mom and all-around person!
I love ya honey.

He loves all but he last. Actually breaks out in hives from homework. Weirdest thing you ever saw! :rotfl2:
I can come up with one heck of a care package!!

I know a lot of cute high school boys too; although the commute would be rather killer...
I was thinking I could send her to live with you. She is not as bad as Anita's Fes and she is kind and funny to most people! ;)
I hope Baylor was able to surround himself with love from the people who care about him and know that he is a true miracle. I believe that these things happen to prepare us for the future, and he will be able to navigate his life knowing lessons that he has learned from this adversity.
Actually he asked to volunteer some time at a local place that is a community center for peope with brain injuries or handicaps. So I think it is already underway - his path.

I knew if I was ever in a serious accident - my ex would not have stayed around for the aftermath. If it was not something he signed up for than he would not have wanted it. Dan - I know would be there for annything and I him.

He lets it roll pretty easily but he was there when she called and still at dinner when we were half way done he asked if she was really not comming over. I think he was just so shocked she actually was not comming. We joked that "Hello what part of Mom and Karen fighting in the phone did you not get." He said, "I just thought she would come." I swear I wanted to put a hole in the wall then. Again a 13 year old gets what is important and at almost 30 she does not.
Kick boxing sounds fun!!
Esp if she was in front of me!

So today did my 1 hour H2) aerobics and then did salsa dancing in the water for a half hour too. Felt good to release some of this frusteration.

Can you be my real sister cause my youngest is a PITA. ::yes:: Would love to! She explained that she feels attacked when we are all together and she is working with her counselor on boundary issues. Hand to God, you could be talking about my PITA little sister! She's also in her 20's. She thinks that everyone else has to go out of their way and change to make her feel emotionally OK, a trait she learned well from my ex-stepmother. There will be no "bonus mom" props here!

I think you and I were seperated at birth and your little sis and my little sis were too, they sound very much alike. I'm thinking it's the age, something about being in their 20's....was I this stupid and self centered in my 20's? Lord forgive me if I was.

She again went back to the boundaries and learning coping skills and what to do when she feels attacked. Did not even acknowledge Baylor at all.

Now if you are wondering why she uses the word attacked - I will tell you it is code for confronted and as a former social worker - I want to kick her counelor's @ss for giving her words she now uses as an out and to be a victim and to take no accountability for her choices.
Yup!!! Been there done that one a number of times, I was even asked by her to be the one to hold her accountable when she started acting like a little snit, but then told I'm attacking her when I did! LOL! She also snitted to our brother about me being a big ol' you know what because I don't let her have her way, my brother told her if she didn't like me giving her a hard time about her attitude.... "Then stop being around her!" (my bro and I grew up with the same parents, my sis has same dad as us)She said "No way! I like the drama!" My sis knows what she's doing....that's the saddest part.

Karen moved into my Mom's in the beginning of July. Moved 100% of her belongings there in the end of July. She pays like $200 to live there with her daughter, has 2 bedrooms in the basement as well as the living room downstairs to call her own. Yea! What Dawn said!!! By the way, I'm stealing this line for when my sister goes here again. he he

Again, this was a subject on August 29th and not discussed since (I have said my peace and it is my Mom's to deal with if she chooses to) and we were all together on October 18th at a birthday party so WTHeck would I assume I needed to give her my atendees list or should I since it is my home. So she did not come and Baylor was really hurt by her not comming and he loves his only cousin on my side and if she was standing here in front of me I would beat her with her counselor. Beating her about the head and shoulders with her own limbs work well too. I'm just sayin...

My sister Laura is also a LSW and we want in on her next counseling session to ask what kind of Voodoo a person tells someone else to make them think it is okay to behave the way she does. LSW? :confused3My guess is that she's learned a new language via counselor and is using it to her own advantage. It's the same thing my ex-stepmother use to do to me, almost word for word.

Soooory for the rant but I am so mad this morning still! :headache: Rant away woman! Your not bothering anyone here, <looking around> .....is she?

So - I am looking for a new sister and a better Aunt for my child. :snooty: Me too! I think we could fullfill one anothers need for a new sis, and aunt for our kids. ;) I really do appreciate your words and at the same time it is sad that someone reading this thread can be more compassionate than someone who lives 25 minutes away and is supposed to give a sh!t. Well, the words were from my heart, and your most welcome. I come from a loooong line of dysfunctionals so I know what you mean about people in the family needing a reality check. I'm here, there's a lot of others here as your fellow Dis sisters and brothers, hope we can fill that void for you until your other sister gets her poop-in-a-group.

LSW = Licensed Social Worker

I did have a great day with Baylor - as for funny - he asked what the next Holiday comming up was - I swear the kid will never learn a calendar - and Dan said, "I think Armistice Day."

Baylor said back, "Oh so it is the Day of the Jews?"

Dan and I were so confused. :confused3

We laughed and asked him to repeat back what he heard.

"Jewish Day," he said. :rotfl2:

We laughed so hard and after we explained what Dan had actually said he thought what he had heard was better. :lmao:

It is amazing once you have something like this to compare it to what you had before. I am so blessed every day.

:grouphug::grouphug: I am so sorry for all he went through. I was talking to another mother here of an 11 year old boy and she was telling about her son's friend that he has stayed with and found out afterwards that the parents just left the boys home. I felt compelled to share Baylor's story with this mother. I just do not understand how some parents can just feel okay about leaving their child and children truisted to them home alone whule they go do whatever. Thank Dawn for sharing Baylor's story and struggles and your struggles with the accident with us so that we can hopefully help you through as well as help educate others to be aware of the dangers that can happen when leaving kids home like that. :grouphug::grouphug:

So she did not come and Baylor was really hurt by her not comming and he loves his only cousin on my side and if she was standing here in front of me I would beat her with her counselor.

Sounds like someone needs a real butt whooping. How sad that she hurt Baylor's feelings but it sounds like she really needs to grow the heck up. Your mom is very nice to put up with the crap.

[COLOR="blue"]Karen is 100% developed from birth. I blame my parents. Does your parents see that or are they blind to it?
My mom yesterday when she was here, said, "Karen is just angry right now and you should understand she doesn't want to talk."

I said, "She called me!"

My Mom said, "Well even if she did you shouldn't have talked to her."

Is your mom afraid of being alone?? I am just curious as I feel my mom puts up with my brother's crap because she is afraid of being alone. My mom is also in her 60s and puts up with more than she should in my opinion.

:lmao: That is to funny!!!! You've got one really cute kid there. :thumbsup2
Just when I think my son knows more than me....I'm always stunned to learn he's stumbled upon what seems like commons sense to me. To us it's old hand, but to them they're still learning what's taken us 38 years to learn....they need us after all.
Little booger butts, gotta luv'em. :lovestruc
Are you 38 as well? What year did you graduate? There is quite a few of us here at that age. Maybe we will have to plan a Fabulous 40 big group bash at the House of the Mouse. Gives us time to do that!
:grouphug::grouphug: I am so sorry for all he went through. Accidents happen all the time but if they can be prevented in anyway then that is what gets me frusterated. Halloween + 3 teen boys = potential trouble that is a guarantee. No different than drinking + driving = trouble.

Are there times you are not going to get caught? Yes. Are there times you might not get into an accident and kill yourself or someone else? Yes.

Yet the reality is there is a huge chance that those combinations will lead to something bad so why risk it if there is another alternative.

I will tell you why in this case.

Because people cannot tell there kids no. Wait. Or later. Kids whine, adults cave and decesions are made that will never be altered.
Sounds like someone needs a real butt whooping. How sad that she hurt Baylor's feelings but it sounds like she really needs to grow the heck up. Your mom is very nice to put up with the crap.
I would not use nice as a term for her in this case. She is co-dependent and in an abusive relationship cycle. My Dad lived with us till literally 2 weeks after I left for college. Screamed at her, belittled her and treated her like she was trash. She stayed with his sh!t as well.
Is your mom afraid of being alone?? I am just curious as I feel my mom puts up with my brother's crap because she is afraid of being alone. My mom is also in her 60s and puts up with more than she should in my opinion.

Nail on the head here. Karen only moved out in the summer of 2007 (at age 27) when she and Jason (her ex-fiance/baby's daddy) got a house together before Skyler was born.

Up until then she had lived at my mom's. She lived there with her from her senior year (not my choice) in high school with her same age boyfriend (18)until like 2004. Paid next to nothing for rent, they both had jobs in HS and as soon as they graduated. In fact he was a MGR at a Valvoline place and made like $32,000 at 19. She was making like $24,000. So together the made more than my mom yet she allowed them to stay and "save" their money.

Well they bought a time share, a brand new car for her and a brand new $40,000 truck for him etc, etc... My mom was driving a beater, they helped pay groceries every other month and cable.

Yet like you said, she was not alone. Karen explained that they were not "Apartment" people so why should they live in an apartment.

Amazingly enough a young couple with no privacy split up :scared1: and he ended up blowing most of the savings they did have on a drug habit. (I would have done drugs to in order to survive living with my mom and sister! :lmao: )

My Mom actually became a more normal person after Karen moved out and she functioned on her own.

My mom has never dated anyone at all since my Dad moved out and this past Aug was 20 years ago. She said if he did not love her in 18 years of mariiage then why would anyone else.

Very sad and she needs counseling desperately but - she will not go and thus she will never change if she does not work for it.

I think I should be on a couch typing and looking at Freud posters this morning! :rotfl2:

Good morning Dawn!!

Your sister kind of reminds me of my brother!! Except he would move out and then back in EVERY year without fail. (Coincidentally, always around the holiday season :confused3) Luckily, there is no room for him to move back in now. As soon as he and his girlfriend saw our new place, the first thing they asked was "can we move in too?" Of course, he always brags to us about how much money he saves with his food stamps! But its sad really. :sad2: He's actually more of a cross between your sister's baby daddy and her both.

And I also had to add about agreeing with everything you have said about accidents. So many people I know complain about getting DUI's and think that the drunk driving laws are too harsh, and it mortifies me. A boy I dated in high school died driving drunk months after he graduated and I wish he would've gotten a DUI and in tons of trouble everyday.

Baylor's accident breaks my heart too. It's so easy to wish that it was just avoided but maybe these things happen for a reason. Think of all the people who he is helping now by volunteering. When I read that, it just melted my heart. He is such a strong boy and I'm so glad that he is not simply just getting through, he is really thriving and helping others. My heart goes out to your whole family and I'm so inspired by the strength you've shown!!

Your sister sounds even crazier than my sister. But her relationship with your mom sounds just like my sister and mother. Though they don't technically live in the same house anymore - they have matching condos 2 blocks apart.

It sucks that she couldn't get over herself enough to be there for Baylor. He's been through a lot and he is still a kid that could have used the support of his family. But like another poster said, his true family was there and those are the people he will be able to count on in life. :grouphug:

And your mom's comment about nobody loving her made me very sad. My mom was married twice, but has been divorced for 7 years now, and lives alone. She has no interest in dating or being married again, and I think that's a big part of the reason her and my sister's relationship is the way it is. :sad2:

Have you been giving him enough bacon? :rotfl: I remember you saying that animal fat like that helps!! I love bacon...tell Baylor I am coming out for a Bacon Healing Festival. We will eat TONS of bacon and invite new and interesting ways to eat it and use like every good bacon-y recipe there is.

Day 6 - Part III

After the parade ended we hoisted ourselves off the pavement and went towards the Lion King show. I had not seen this in a while and thought why not. The kids were all in gymnastics and who doesn't love flying monkeys?
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/WDW%20AK%2008/00000036-1.jpg

Well besides Dorothy?

We were sat in the warthog section and behind a couple with two darling children who were sitting between the parents. The kids were approx 3-5 and the older boy seemed leery of his curly, pony tailed sister. She seemed intent to make sure neither parent paid any attention to him. Whenever one started to, she whined, she dropped her binkie (IMO waaaay to old for a frickin binkie) she coughed and did anything in her power to distract them.

The show began and Rafiki beckoned us to be transported to a far away land. A place where Simba was innocent and melodic tunes circled in the air.

We were swaying to the music. We were raising our lighters high, shoulder to shoulder one unit of peace.

Than the little demon kicked her brother in the spine.

You see she was allowed to stand on the riser so she could see over the heads and so this position gave her ample leverage to really kick him good.

She had on cute, little, sparkly shoes with a hard sole so I am sure it stung.

The parents, when alerted to his cries, picked him up and moved him away from her so that he was isolated. They kept the spawn of Satan cherub between them and continued to coddle her. I felt so bad for the kid.

About 2 minutes later he tried to ask a question about the show and was hushed. Meanwhile Beelzebub was talking OUT LOUD and they seemed just fine. I was at the end of our group and a lady sitting next to me gave me the WTHeck look. I said, "You distract the parents and I will pull the brat's ponytail."

She started giggling and I said, "Who's kidding?"

The poor boy was now 2 feet from the parents and the lady answered his question on who was Mufasa.

Damienetta, noticed we were acknowledging the good child and started yelling louder that he was being talked to. She looked at me and I stuck my tongue out at her with big ole bug eyes and a face that I sure hope she understood meant I would spank her if she was mine.

I know. Real Mature.

The Dad tried to hush her, I think he was frustrated with his life and was wishing they served a mega beer at that point. The Mom overruled the Dad and said she could be a free spirit.

The little turd was now mad and slapped the Dad's face. If she was my kid she would have been waiting anxiously for her 1st grade year for the adult teeth to come in because I would have lost it. Then again, my kids would not have thought about hitting me.

Dad grabbed her arm and said "No." Minnature Wicked Witch then yells louder and Mom starts rocking her like she is an infant.

Show is over and Dad is saying he has had enough of the child and it is out of control. Mom actually looks back at me for support and I said, you isolated the wrong one and you are in for a he!! of a future if you don't get this under control.

The brother looked at me so grateful it about made me want to cry. They rushed out of there but my neighbor and I were slower and just talked about how lonely and sad that kid looked. It was another example to me about how so many parents take the easy road of parenting, not the hard one and yet everyone else is affected by it. I did not know them yet the show was ruined by their choices. Her Kindergarten teacher is in for a fun year!

***About 5 months ago Carsyn and I were in Plato's Closet. It is a consignment store for teen fashion. I went in ahead of Carsyn who was taking off her soccer gear and was looking for Baylor‘s things.

A few minutes later I heard this guy, swearing at a kid. "Leave me the F alone."

I let it go and tried to shop. I now was around the clothes rack and could see this man. He at this point was sitting on the ground, back against a wall and trying on shoes. He was there with a woman and the boy he was yelling at was about 2 1/2 and there was a approx 4 year old girl standing by.

I am keeping my eye on them and shopping and all of a sudden, the boy tries to sit on the man's lap. That was all he did.

The guy, flips out.

Picks up the kid and put him on the ground hard. Then says,
"You little piece of sh!t. I told you to get the F away from me. Fin listen you dumb@ss."

I am not sure what exactly happened next. All I do know is I came to semi-consciousness standing above him with my foot between his legs and my knee very close to his throat.

Truly, I do not have a clue how I got there because prior, I was a good 20 feet away.

I heard myself though and was aware I was explaining to him loudly that he had no right to talk to a child like this and or handle him that way and that I was planning on following him out to his car, get his license plate # and then following up with social services. That he out to be thanking God for a child who loved him enough to want to be close to him.

He responded with, "No one is going to tell me how to raise my kids. You better back away from me or I will beat you."

I shoved me knee in his Adams apple hard for about 6 seconds and then pushed off. I then told him I was not his guinea pig and I would fight back.

He said, "Come on Shania were getting the F- out of here."

I then was racing in my head about who I could influence in short order and turned to the Mom and said, "So this is your kids and this is how you are allowing them to be raised? You should be ashamed of yourself. They are yours to protect and yours to guide and how dare you let some scumbag treat them that way, Father or not. Why are you standing there and I am wanting to beat the snot out of his skinny @ss? "

They left, I got the plate and called the police. I cannot remember ever shaking so bad from adrenaline in my life. I was so furious my heart was pounding. I was scared what he was going to do until the police got to him and I was wishing I would have knocked his throat to the back of the wall. Second guessing everything.

Carsyn was in a whole different section of the store and when I found her after, I told her about what happened. She described them perfectly and said the guy was horrid to his daughter before they came in the store. They had parked next to our car and when the daughter got out of the car, he was screaming at her, "Are you stupid? Don't you know where to stand? Get your F-in @ss up on the curb."

We stood in line to make our purchase and this lady, who I had seen in the area I was in when this whole thing went down, was ahead of us. She made her purchase and then sent her daughter (about 10) outside and came over to me. She said she wanted to thank me for what I did and she was afraid to have gotten involved.

I truthfully don't think I had a choice and the fact I blacked out is probably not a good sign of my rage but I do know that the animal instinct I had to protect that little kid was huge and that same mouth lead me to say something to that Mom at AK. Someday I will probably be slapped or worse but ya know what, I do know that the incident at Plato's closet ended well. The Mom did leave and sought a battered women's shelter. It might have been her time or what I did might have helped. Either way my conscious was clean for taking a stand. I wish Treyner would have been there though because a a tag team beating would have made my day and as well as I know Treyner, he would have not held back for what the guy did to that boy or threatening me.

Maybe I do have a red neck streak!

We headed back to the car and Carsyn took 10 pictures of my hind end walking away from her. She claims it was for diet motivation but earlier she took one of Dan and I as well. Maybe she has a rear view fetish! :lmao:

Another great addition to the trip report. As for that "father", I hope he got caught and turned over to social services. Of course here social services is pretty worthless (I live in the worst state for child abuse/neglact). One such case left a kindergartener dead because the stupid case worker blew off the abuse allegations and in this state it is not mandatory to notify the non-custodial parent of the abuse allegations so this child's father, who was a soldier stationed across the country, had to bury his son and never knew of the abuse. Both mother and boyfriend are in jail but I think the same thing they did to the little boy should have been done to them.

Did you order Ketchup at WCC?? We had 13 or 14 bottles delivered to our table when the girls asked for kecthup. It was funny and they got a kick out of it. It was a first for us.

That is a great idea! Or you could steal/borrow ahemmm... a whole bunch of "For Sale Signs" and put them in her yard and say - "Old/Slightly Used Uterus - cheap - will take offers."
I did something similar when my bestfriend had to have her bladder put in a sling because it was prolapsing....I wrote on one of her balloons saying..."Your Butt and chin maybe droop, and your b**bs may being having a race for your waist line but your bladder will be forever hung!" She got it.
I am seriious about a couples/or singles 40th. We can drink around Epcot - I am not a drinker either - or do the Monorail Crawl.

:yay: I'm totally down with that! I'm sure I could make it, but not sure if John will be down, hubby is a lot of fun but doesn't do well with crowds. :sad2:
We'll see, I've got a year and half or so to get him use to the idea. ;)
I think it would be fun to make are way around Epcot getting to sample all the different drinks....I've never heard of the Monorail crawl. Hmmm sounds intriguing.

It looks like you all had a good time at AK, minus the brat invasion at the Lion King show.
I on the other hand will get complements on how well mannered my kids are, I tell them it's because I beat them. :) I usually get this....
Seriously, kids need to be taught concern for others, compassion and certainly that includes manners!
I've never understood the parent that just looks at their child while their acting up and thinks the're all that and a bag of chips and their poo don't stink too.....no matter what they do! I've never been that parent who says their kids poo don't stink, they're kids they will make mistakes and act up from time to time, but not having compassion for another or manners is not stood for in my house!
I too have great kids, and I don't just say that because their my kids, were told all the time how great our kids are, one of them because he has a heart the size of Texas  <so I can't take credit there>and another because she received direction...on the back of her @ss....and because of it, she became a wonderful little young lady :lovestruc...and it's all due to not letting up no matter what anyone said against me spanking, I corrected her behavior and spanked her when she needed it. Not every child needs it, my son didn't a stern talking to is all it took. The point is I did the world a favor and got after my kids when they needed it, no matter what the form was, I just wish everyone else would do the same.

WCC, hmmmmm I'm making my list of ADR's as we speak and I'm having a time with it. I don't remember you mentioning if the main course was any good? What did you think of WCC for food?

Hi Dawn! New reader here! :wave2:

I love your TR. I just read all 40 pages of it! You are so funny!! You guys are such a strong and loving family admired by many I'm sure. I am so sorry about everything you had to go through with Baylor. I can't imagine how hard that must have been. It's good to know everything seems to be getting better now though.

Also I just have to say I am the same age as Treyner and still talk to my mom everyday, although I am a girl so maybe it's a little different? :confused3 But I also talked my mom into a "celebrate me coming home from college for the summer" trip 4 days after I get home in May, and I can see many more of those in our future so there's hope Treyner will want to continue going to Disney too! I'm sure you can't wait until Thanksgiving to see him. I know I'm counting down the days until I see my family!

So - I am looking for a new sister and a better Aunt for my child.
I would be honored if you would let me be your sister and an Aunt to your kids. And with me comes my sister Bo, she's crazy fun and super nuturing. You also get a chihuahua mix and a one eyed fat cat. :confused3 sound good? where do I sign?

[QUOTE=Dizneydawn;34187816]

I always fear kidnappers, I'm always afraid that someone will nab one or both of mine. But I am one of those parents that have a hard time saying no. For the most part I can say no, but I let them argue with me alot and plead their case. I just recently allowed Reese to go to an all night party because her brother was going to be there and I thought it would be safe, I even called the mother of the girl who was having the party and she assured me that they would be safe and supervised. (my first mistake was trusting a woman who I had never met personally) Well the lady lied, she left to go to a party of her own, and the girl throwing the party kicked Reese out of her house (jealousy is an ugly thing) Jim left with Reese and so did about 20 of their friends, but when I found out, I was livid with that woman thinking anything could have happened to my kids because she left them unsupervised. But really I am more angry at myself, I should have never let them go in the first place. I regreted my decision the minute I said yes. I'm still kicking myself over this.

OMGosh, my mom and your mom sound alike. My mom has never dated since my father died in 1980 when I was 9 (I am 38 as well). I just don't understand why they would put up with so much abuse from their own children. My brother is the baby of the family and the only boy and acts just like my father did towards my mother. Very very sad.
Oh sweetie - sorry about your Dad and at the same time sorry he did not leave a good example for your brother. I get it about your Mom.

Did you order Ketchup at WCC?? We had 13 or 14 bottles delivered to our table when the girls asked for kecthup. It was funny and they got a kick out of it. It was a first for us.
We did and it was a hoot. There wasa huge cheerleading squad by us and they spent most of their time makng googly eyes at Treyner with little sister's at Baylor! Carsyn kept throwing daggers at them and mimmicking their laughs and giggles so I spent most of my time laughing at them!

Hey - come for the aprty in 2 years to celebrate our 40th! :cool1:
:yay: I'm totally down with that! I'm sure I could make it, but not sure if John will be down, hubby is a lot of fun but doesn't do well with crowds. :sad2:

Is he going with you to WDW?
We'll see, I've got a year and half or so to get him use to the idea. ;)
I think it would be fun to make are way around Epcot getting to sample all the different drinks....I've never heard of the Monorail crawl. Hmmm sounds intriguing.
Spend a night traveling around the resorts on the monorail and enjoy the bars/atmosphere at each one!
I too have great kids, and I don't just say that because their my kids, were told all the time how great our kids are, one of them because he has a heart the size of Texas  <so I can't take credit there>and another because she received direction...on the back of her @ss....and because of it, she became a wonderful little young lady :lovestruc

When Carsyn uses the, "It's not fair, Treyner or Baylor didn't have that consequence...." speil, I usually inform her that being fair is treating each child different since they are each unique and no action any of them takes is exactly like the other one did.
WCC, hmmmmm I'm making my list of ADR's as we speak and I'm having a time with it. I don't remember you mentioning if the main course was any good? What did you think of WCC for food?
Liked it a lot - decent BBQ - very fun place to try so I say yes!

I can't get him to write here to save my soul but maybe someday Carsyn will. He is not comming home at Thanksgiving because we need to send him to SC to look at Anderson College so I have to wait till Christmas. :santa:

He is excited about Disney in Dec and he loves being there so I don't worry about that part too much. I worry about the girls...and Treyner and Treyner worrying about the girls and not his grades! pirate:

Don't beat yourself up and don't think my kids don't get away with things from time to time because they totally do. The situation with the Mom is exactly the situation I had with Baylor's burn and thus the guilt. Trusted someone I did not know after talking to them versus my gut so I completely get the self @ss kicking. It's gonna happen - we as parents make a bazillion mistakes - it's a matter of learning from them - that's all.

I hope everything works out for Treyner. I'm sure he'll find a school he loves and a great team to play on. That's really what makes it. I don't think my DBF would play he didn't love his coach and teammates. And the scholarship helps a little :rolleyes1

That makes me so mad...and I don't even have a teenager to worry about yet!! I pretty much am still the teenager and it bothers me! I hate when parents lie to other parents for their kids!! Do they think it makes them cool or something? It's just bad news waiting to happen. The parents are obviously okay with their parents walking all over them, and the truth is that the parents who LIE to other parents are often the ones like the ones Dawn saw at FOTLK and Plato's Closet.

I have a friend who apparently was that mom who lied to all the other parents when they were in high school. (I didn't know her then.) But she has a son who is in middle school and she lies for all his friends as well and lets them all do weed and just has no control over him. I have seen this little 12 year old verbally abuse his mom, screaming and cussing her out. I know you would've gotten into it, Dawn! I should've...the mom and the kid were going at it pretty bad. Like you said that your kids would never even try to hit you, I'm sure they wouldn't talk to you like that either! I wish that some parents weren't scared of disciplining their children. It really is so bad for everyone. The parent of the year award will never go to someone who lets their children walk all over them...those parents get doormats of the year awards.

And now to your update!!

WCC looks so good!! I'm so disappointed, I had an adr there and skipped it! Your review makes me wish I hadn't!! It looks so good!! I think its so fun that all the girls are all googly over your boys and Carsyn just makes fun of them! That's so cute.

Treyner and his assistant (:rotfl:) are hilarious with their Lincoln Logs!! I could see him not letting the other kids play!! Landon would be perfect for that now, since he just loves to watch the big kids play and hand him stuff!! Does he need another assistant? Landon was looking for a day job, so he can afford all he toys!!

I hope everything works out for Treyner. I'm sure he'll find a school he loves and a great team to play on. That's really what makes it. I don't think my DBF would play he didn't love his coach and teammates. And the scholarship helps a little :rolleyes1
Money is where he will follow but he hates the interim coach and he is set to leave and happy about that choice.

My Mom enabled my sister to some extent like that in HS as well and thus we have a pain at 29 years old.

I was sitting here with tears in my eyes as you described that poor child at the show who was being ignored and shushed by his parents while his princess sister got all of the attentin. I'm glad you said something to the mother. Good for you! A lot of people would not say anything at all, but you are a breath of fresh air, a wake up call they probably needed.

Now, on to that jerk who was cussing at his kids. WOW! I can just imagine a rage so fierce that you blacked out and didn't even know that you were about to kill that man until you were right up on him. Amazing. You showed true courage and didn't back down and stood up for two children. :worship: Bless you, honey! You are my HERO!

Loved the update on WCC. I love Wilderness, especially at Christmas. So beautiful!!! And those goofy faces of your children - reminds me of my son. Every time I point a camera at him, he sticks his tongue out at me! :sad2:

I was so happy to read that the mother at Plato's Closet went to a women's shelter. I hope her and her kids are doing better without that loser.

That is awesome! Where he plays - not the break up part. Unless you wanted it - then that is okay too. I honestly do think it is too hard to be in sports at this level and give enough time to a relationship. Treyner told his ex Carly that soccer was his wife for the next 4 years.

It takes a special person to be secure enough to be in a relationship when you are not his/her number one everything.

That's funny that Treyner told his ex that soccer was his wife!! Love that kind of devotion!! I always wonder what sport Landon will fall in love with...he loves to play catch and roll the ball and has even thrown baskets. He cheers and claps every time sports are on tv, whether its baseball, soccer or football!!

Does Carsyn play any sports?? I can't remember right now!! But I do remember the photography (you know...landscape, portrait, rear-ends...the artsy stuff!)

Also, what kind of stuff will Baylor be doing at his burn camp? I'm very curious about it! I bet he is so excited. How long does it last? It'l be so fun to go straight from there to Disney World!

Wow you're good! He needed to focus on soccer, and like I said before, didn't have time for much else. And at the time, last year (we're a year apart in age), I was going through the recruiting process, but for swimming, and I needed to focus on that, even though I ended up not swimming in college due to injury. So - I am looking for a new sister and a better Aunt for my child. :snooty: I really do appreciate your words and at the same time it is sad that someone reading this thread can be more compassionate than someone who lives 25 minutes away and is supposed to give a sh!t.

I would be happy to apply for that position. I am an only child so that would give me a chance to be an aunt. Even better it would make you my sister which would be great cause you are just too funny.

The good side to having no siblings is I don't have to put up with someone like your sister but I also don't have the chance for any cool sibs or nieces/nephews. However my mom has 5 brothers and sisters and one of them is just like your sister, she has gotten one of my aunts to not be on speking terms and is slowly working her way throught the rest, I think one of my uncles will be the next to ignore her.

Anyway so I have no previous experience with being an aunt or a sister but I'm a quick learner and I can multi task. :surfweb: I would be happy to provide my services from across the country or in person for the next state fair (those pictures of food were drool inducing) popcorn:: or if you ever make it out to Vegas. So if you think I would be a good match for that job my contact info is Leash on the DisBoards.

I just read the part about pinning the abusive jerk in the clothes store and I wish I could find a clapping smilely. I really don't know what I would have done if I had been in your position but now I would certainly be taking a page from your book. :cheer2:

Can't wait for the rest of the TR and I'm starting to get into your new PTR (OMG I think this means I'm stalking you :scared1: but I promise I'm harmless).

Finally all caught up! Had to take a break for a bit...DH's grandma passed away a couple of weeks ago and things have been just plain nutty 'round these parts.

But you never fail to crack me UP! :thumbsup2

I had left off at Sea World (I was a bit behind!) but a few things that caught my attention:

DOLPHINS!! I LOVE me some dolphins too! I actually wanted to be a dolphin trainer when I was a kid and used to get SO MAD at my little brothers when they wouldn't perform the way I wanted them to during our summer fun in the pool. :snooty:

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: Yellow kitty...simply no other words are needed. :lmao:

Treynors visit home was just awesome! What a great surprise for the kids but bummer....dang FB!!

Ummm...if the decision hasn't been made my I place my vote for the POLY! OMG! I would LOVE to get lei'd in the lobby, hallway....heck, I'd even settle for the parking lot...I'm not picky! I will stay there some day but in the meantime will live vicariously through you if you do stay there!

SO...ummm...Beotch with the cig and poor little boy at the parade....UGH :sad2: Not much else I can say about her.

While we're on the topic of top notch parenting I do have to say GO DISNEYDAWN on the throttling of that horrid father at Plato's. :scared1: That is just horrible. You are very much like me and I was actually shaking while I was reading that. Started again just thinking about how they are talked to or treated at home behind the closed doors. Thank you for stepping in for them.

I'm sure this is out of order but  again for the anniversary of Baylors accident and  to your PITA little sister. What a piece of work. Love when people think the universe revolves around them...no matter what the circumstances are. At least the rest of his family supported him!

Georgeous ring....you are one lucky woman!

And last but certainly not least....'89 is FINE! I JUST celebrated my 20th reunion. Oh boy...where do the years run to?!?!

Looking forward to reading more! :flower3:

I have been trying to figure out why the last day posted was not making any sense at all as far as intenerary with Dinner. I finally went back to the PTR and pulled the last itenerary posted and have figured out why the mix up.

I messed up the date we went to AK - and thus the dinner following did not make any sense in the order the pictures on the disks are showing! I hate the fact the CD's don't have dates on the pics! UGH!

So I am going back now to re-vamp Tues/Wed and I am sorry but I am just OCD enough to do it since my kids do not have one baby album actually filled out between them full of memories and what not so this is their heirloom and even though they will not ever remember the dates of what happened where, I will and it will drive me crazy. I will sit at night, thinking that it is wrong and no one would know but me but that alone would feel like a lie and I would eventually pull all my eyelashes out and look like a freak show and then how hot will I be for my wedding? So this is completely about me and my needs and being selfish so if you don't like it - you can just leave.

Wait...don't leave because then I would have no followers and then I would wonder if I can write or if I am actually a horrid writer and then it would be my eyelashes and eyebrows that are missing and I would look like an egg. :snooty:

Please forgive me! :worship:

Day 6 - Change of Plans!

Originally we were planning on going to Busch Gardens this day but the vote the night before was that we were too tired to spend 4 hours in a car the next day total and or get up early. So we decided we would sleep in and do some things we had on our list of fun stops if we had time.

The first thing I did though was call the WDW Dine and they were able to get us a last minute TS reservation at WCC! I was so glad!

First on that list was - Nike Clearance Center and for me Character Outlet.

Treyner for one was not going to let me forget the Nike Center! We stopped at the Florida Mall outlet and went inside the Nike Center there - asked some questions and found out the Nike Clearance Center was indeed a one of a kind. They sold overstock or one of a kind inventory items. Actually there is only two in the country so finding that gem was great! Before we went there though I had to get some Disney souvenirs and boy did they have some! I got Skyler 3 outfits with Pooh and Minnie on them for about $18 total, got myself a red Mickey strainer I wanted so bad at MK for 1/2 price and the kids found a few shirts.

We headed back towards Kissimmee, found the outlet and Treyner reached his nirvana. Found a wind suit jacket and pants combo that was the same as the USA soccer men’s team wore - for $15 total! He also got two pair of soccer cleats for $30 total and a pair of women’s tennis shoes - size 14. A coach he knew had told him about shopping in the gun boat section of the women’s shoe store and how they sell the shoes for next to nothing. Running shoes are running shoes and these were like volleyball style ones. He got a blue swoosh and Baylor found the same ones with black for $10 each pair!

Baylor also got a pair of football cleats that were the kind you hand select your colors/stitching etc,...for $12. Someone had ordered them and decided they did not like them and sent them back to Nike. Once back - Nike send them here because they are personalized and sells them for 90% off of the retail. I think I spent about $130 there for over $1000 worth of product. When you have an athletic family - one pair of cleats can run you $130! We were in this store for almost 2 hours! Thought about doing ICE at Gaylord Palms but after the extra money spent on the shopping excursion - decided it would have to wait till another time.

We went back to La Cuckaroacha Hotel and took it easy and freshened up.
Made it to WCC in plenty of time and took our buzzer and enjoyed the lobby with people getting their pics by the tree. Some had big Grand Gatherings and other families just had a couple but the professional photographers they had on hand were doing their best to give everyone ample time to get a few good shots.

We were seated at a table and both Treyner and Dan were taking it all in because they had bever been there.

And cornbread!
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/WDW%20Whispering%20Canyon%20Cafe/00000085-1.jpg

Dan ended up ordering nachos and the rest of us decided on the skillet.
Carsyn ordered lemonade.
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/WDW%20Whispering%20Canyon%20Cafe/00000087-1.jpg

Dan must have drank something alcoholic but I thought it was just a float.
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/WDW%20Whispering%20Canyon%20Cafe/00000086-1.jpg

Because how else do you explain:

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/WDW%20Whispering%20Canyon%20Cafe/00000090-1.jpg

And the kids must have snuck it because then that explains:
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/WDW%20Whispering%20Canyon%20Cafe/00000093-1.jpg

And the fact Carsyn could not wait for a fork for her smores!
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/WDW%20Whispering%20Canyon%20Cafe/00000094-1.jpg

We left before they could call in management but on the way out I lost my sons to Treyner's first love.

Lincoln Logs.

In fact they stayed behind with Carsyn taking pictures and took the bus back to OKW via Downtown Disney. This year for Christmas I want everyone to send Treyner Lincoln logs. He loves architecture and did not care that he was at a kids table and shooed some pesky 6 year olds away.

I know this pic is blurry but it proves that Treyner did not allow Baylor to build his own - he only allowed him to be his assistant! :rotfl2:

Day 7 - Mommy? Why are Those Kids Eating Soap?

Since Animal Kingdom is done early we had time to go somewhere I have always thought would be cool to see. I had been there in the daytime, saw my first alligator not at a park on their golf course, and driven the pristine streets, dreaming of living in bliss.

My friends...I give you Celebration!
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/Dec%202008%20Celebration/00000054.jpg

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/Dec%202008%20Celebration/00000056.jpg

Now yes, this is a Disneyfied neighborhood and community and I know that after two months of living somewhere in which they tell you how to do everything short of brushing your teeth, I would be driven crazy. Yet this is Mayberry in my head and you don't live in the real world at Disney so why should Celebration be any different.

I had looked up info on the activities going on there and knew they had every evening, snow falling on the town square and horse drawn carriage rides, cookies and hot cocoa, etc.

The lights on some of the houses as we drove into the area were amazing as were the number of Smart Cars/Golf Carts this eco friendly community drove. I felt like I was a poacher on a safari with the stares we got from locals in our Trail Blazer. I wanted to yell out, - "It's not our fault! We actually wanted something bigger!" Dan advised not to though! :confused3 He was afraid we would get pelted with leaflets on "going green!"

I will tell you that this was the one time the whole trip where I butted heads with the kids. If my memory serves me correct (which let's face it, after what will go down in history as the TR screw up of 2009... who should trust me?) the boys were acting like loons and trapped in a car with them and the loud antics they were displaying as we drove past refined people with our windows down, I snapped. We got in an argument over behavior that they warrant as just fun and here is where I send mixed signals. Normally I allow it and it does not make me mad. That night I do not know if it was PMS or what but I was not in the mood for funny - I was reflective and once in a while silence is golden. Treyner was mad he was being chewed at and said he didn't want to go here anyway.

I told him and Baylor they did not have to look around but they would get their bottoms out of the car and just stand outside. I was not leaving them with keys and I was not allowing them to stay in the vehicle in an area we did not know. (We had parked in a back lot behind some shops and it was dark and a bit out of the way for anyone to see if something had gone wrong.)

Carsyn was not in on the boys fun, so she was doing the happy dance of her life because as a kid who usually is the culprit of family disagreements, she was loving her life at that moment. :snooty: She started to address the behavior of the boys and why must they act in such a way and I shot her a look that told her not to push her luck. ;)

Her, Dan and I started walking on the Main Street and went into a few shops. I should have known better than to assume that a perfect town would have chubbie chics sweatshirts and again, vowed to loose weight for the 2,900,645th time that week!

We walked out of the shop and there were the boys. We talked a bit and Treyner stayed back with me. He apologized for not dropping it a notch when asked and I apologized for being moody. I told him that this was just such an emotional trip. I had tried to plan everything out carefully, Baylor's burn, him turning 18 and leaving soon and I was crying and he just looked at me like he finally understood I might not have it all together like I come across. We hugged, I punched him in the stomach for making me emotional and then...it started to "snow."

Now snow is a word I use for frozen water falling to the ground in flakes. This was not snow.

This was more like clumps of soap being blown by a machine.

We stood there wondering who was the refined people and who was the crazies as the tree hugger, nut eater, spruced up golf cart driving, people sat back and allowed their kids to play in soap. Not only play in it but stand underneath the soap blower and catch wads of soap in their mouths.:sick:

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/Dec%202008%20Celebration/00000065.jpg

The last pic is a boy - lying face down in the goop. He has an orange jacket on.

(I had not figured out the best way for night pics on my camera and so not all of them turned out - sorry)

We laughed at the kids making soap angels and the kids throwing soap wads at each other.

Carsyn said - "Well I suppose Disney wouldn't want a mess so they can just power hose the street after it is done and it will be cleaner then it was before!"

I thought it would be similar to the flakes we saw at MVMCP but this was totally a differnt snow! At the hour and the half hour mark, it repeated for about 3 hours total. I think I will go back and have money for the carriage ride next time! It was totally cute and the people oozed kindness.

Almost too heavy on the ooze - at times like I wonder if they are one step away from Jonestown and some not so nice Koolaid. :rotfl2: I am not kidding that many people had dogs :dog2: out and about and I never saw one popping a squat. My dog walks for 13 seconds and you better have a baggie.

Maybe dog poop isn't allowed at Celebration! :dogdance:

We were hungry and had plans to go to WPE so we got back in the car and saw a few more lights on the way out.

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/Dec%202008%20Celebration/00000057.jpg

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/Dec%202008%20Celebration/00000066.jpg

This last blurry, cr@ppy night shot is the train they have riding around a big circle of streets that you can put kids on! It picked them up right by the carriage rides!

From one (former) social worker to another, you did the right thing girl! Good for you for standing up for that little boy in Plato's Closet! I spent 11 years working for CPS.
I di not last as long as you and it could have had something to do with a violent streak...:rolleyes1
On the bright side, your kids' pictures always make me laugh! And did I see you say that your dates are Dec. 18-23? Ours are Dec. 16-23!:thumbsup2
We need to get a post up of all of us that will be there at the same time and try to see one another! A big meet would be awesome!
[QUOTE=Dizneydawn;34173224]
I would be happy to apply for that position. I am an only child so that would give me a chance to be an aunt. Even better it would make you my sister which would be great cause you are just too funny.
I am not joking so let's get a plan....I have an idea  and will post it seperatly! I think you all might love it!

Open invite for the end of August! Please consider it!

Can't wait for the rest of the TR and I'm starting to get into your new PTR (OMG I think this means I'm stalking you :scared1: but I promise I'm harmless).
Anyone who posts is never a stalker and even those who laugh silently are just shy! I just would love to know everyone here a bit better!
Finally all caught up! Had to take a break for a bit...DH's grandma passed away a couple of weeks ago and things have been just plain nutty 'round these parts.
So sorry!
But you never fail to crack me UP! :thumbsup2
Better than crack you down because then your @ss would end at your knee caps!

DOLPHINS!! I LOVE me some dolphins too! I actually wanted to be a dolphin trainer when I was a kid and used to get SO MAD at my little brothers when they wouldn't perform the way I wanted them to during our summer fun in the pool. :snooty:
Brats!

I am such a giver that I would lei you in the parking lot if that was your goal!

I'm sure this is out of order but  again for the anniversary of Baylors accident and  to your PITA little sister. What a piece of work. Love when people think the universe revolves around them...no matter what the circumstances are. At least the rest of his family supported him!
Thanks and kind words are never out of order or unappreciated!
Georgeous ring....you are one lucky woman!
More lucky about the man but the ring doesn'y hurt!
And last but certainly not least....'89 is FINE! I JUST celebrated my 20th reunion. Oh boy...where do the years run to?!?!

40th b-day celebration in 2011 - be there!

ahemm...I love you honey but, I believe that would be Steamboat Springs....Team boat springs is in WDW....guess what ladies Dawn's mind is already on vacation guess where she is going....:rotfl2::lmao::flower3:
Is my mind never not on a vacation?
:rotfl2: Nothing like having your mind stuck in one mode....well, as long as it's Disney mode. ;)
Preach on sistah!
You are so funny, Dawn - Don't pull out your eyelashes! We'll go back and read again!

Thank you because I felt like such an idiot! I kept going well when did we go to Celebration then and why is the pics not in order on the darn discs! Anyway - it's all good now!:worship:

It's at Team Boat Springs so mostly skiing from what I gather. In the summer camp he went to he rode horse back, climbed mountains, and all that sort of outdoor stuff he loves.

You really do have some active kids!! Is the summer camp one he went to the same one he is going to in the winter?

Wow...Celebration...I thought I would *maybe* want to live there. But I would really love to drive a hummer so I think they'd really hate me!! It sounds like you had an interesting night!! I think its so cute that Treyner came and apologized to you about it...you have raised some good kids. Most would just get over their attitude, but not apologize for it!

There is a camp in Ely, MN that is run my our local MN Family Burn Survivors group.

Then there is the National Burn Camp run out of Colorado that has kids come from all over the US, Canada and even England. They hold 2 camps. One in the summer and one in the winter much smaller and by invite only if you behave well at the summer camp. The summer one is at Cheley Camp in Estes Park and the winter one they run out of Steamboat Springs.

He is a good kid and I was emotional that night as well and no - you would be flogged at the town square at midnight for a Hummer or at least shackles and leg irons! :rotfl2:

Bacon is a great food - I like mine crispy though. My ex BIL cooks his like 20 second on each side and enjoys the flubbery mess. Yuck! The other thing is that I wish we had better quality Bacon here - the stuff we had in Ireland was amazing. I know if we went to a butcher it would be different but it drives me crazy that what we label as food in this country would be dog food in Europe.

Goodness, I bet Landon is going to give me tons of emotional moments like that! Have you seen the sap fest on my tr since its Landon's birthday? Oh man!!

Wouldn't it be fun if we each had our own Hummer and were just driving around the blocks in circles. If they asked if we were lost of something (giving them the benefit of the doubt that they could try to be nice if they saw us driving those), we would simply say "No, we just didn't use enough gas today" and tell them that we are having a competition to see who could have the BIGGEST carbon footprint. :rotfl:

And then we would quickly zoom away as they came after us with the torches and pitchforks!!

Oh and PS...mine and Baylor's new flight plans stop in Ireland before going to MCO...I think you know why!

I have been reading your TR all night at work (ssshhhhh! don't tell!) And laughing out loud, it's a good thing I work midnights almost entirely by myself! I have just read the story of Captain Condom and loved Baylor's response! Also, the pic (and story) of you and Treyner at Haunted Mansion brought me to tears! My DH and I are trying to have our first child and I just hope I can have moments like that too someday! (We actually just had a loss, we thought we were pregnant but it turned out to be a tubal pregnancy). Reading your stories tonight have made me cry and then laugh out loud and you have somewhat "inspired" me I guess you can say to try again to be a mom, you have made me realize that it is a great experience and I don't want to miss out on it!
We will be in WDW this year about the same time ya'll were last year and I'm glad to see that ya'll got to wear shorts and t-shirts during the day. DH is worried it will be cold.
Thanks again!

You could really see the intensity of Treynor as he played with the Lincoln Logs. Poor Baylor. :confused3 All he wanted to do was build his own! :rotfl:

Thanks for posting the pics at Wilderness. It is so beautiful there, especially at Christmas. I have an opportunity to go in two weeks from today (and stay at the Wilderness) with my parents. BUT - only if DSis and DNiece DO NOT go. They aren't supposed to, but when they heard I was gonna go, they changed their mind. It's up in the air now about who's going, but I'm hoping I'll get to see Wilderness and that big giant beautiful tree again! You've read my TR, so I know you understand what I mean by "I'm not going if Sis goes!"

Love the "Celebration" pics. Even though it was dark, I could tell how "foamy" that soap looked. Carsyn was right - it's dual purpose snow. When they are done, they just hose off the street and it will be sparkling clean! :thumbsup2

Now I need to start planning and saving. DH goes along with pretty much what I want he's so good to me. OOOOHHHHH more planning I love to make lists.
Glad and we do need to make some decessions on dates and such...list away baby!

Will anyone take pitty on me and pick me up if your driving to WDW....by way of Texas??? Please? :flower3:
No, but with all the dissers in your area - you should find one to carpool with! Or can you swim? :lmao:
I have been reading your TR all night at work (ssshhhhh! don't tell!) And laughing out loud, it's a good thing I work midnights almost entirely by myself! What do you do? I have just read the story of Captain Condom and loved Baylor's response! Also, the pic (and story) of you and Treyner at Haunted Mansion brought me to tears! My DH and I are trying to have our first child and I just hope I can have moments like that too someday! (We actually just had a loss, we thought we were pregnant but it turned out to be a tubal pregnancy). Sorry and please don't give up. If it is something you want, there is so many options before that!Reading your stories tonight have made me cry and then laugh out loud and you have somewhat "inspired" me I guess you can say to try again to be a mom, you have made me realize that it is a great experience and I don't want to miss out on it! That is one of the kindest things anyone has ever said to me and I usually am a smart @ss when it comes to emotions but I will refrain and simply tell you , Thanks!
We will be in WDW this year about the same time ya'll were last year and I'm glad to see that ya'll got to wear shorts and t-shirts during the day. DH is worried it will be cold.
Thanks again!
Erica
Erica you will be have a blast! Bring warm clothes for nights though!
Well, now I'm feeling old. I'm turning 40 in 2010!!
Yup, you're screwed. :rotfl2:

Come anyway - bring the hubster if ya want!

I have an opportunity to go in two weeks from today (and stay at the Wilderness) with my parents. BUT - only if DSis and DNiece DO NOT go.
Let's pray she catches some new strain of the piglet consumption that just renders her too tired to move for a week!

It is a beautiful day here today and thus...I am outside since it could be the last for 5 months! Will get that next installment up at least by tom!

Ha, ha! Yeah, the girls at work told me to bring one of the other sick girls at work to her house in hopes that she'd catch it! My luck would be that she'd go anyways and then I'd have to hear complaints all week about how "sick" she is. Remember DNiece's sickly week at Disney? Not funz! *cough, cough, wheeze, wheeze*

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: - Seriously, I crack myself up.

Glad and we do need to make some decessions on dates and such...list away baby!

Personally I would love to experience the parks during spring time, still cool enough to enjoy, yet warm enough to swim, and it's not the rainy season. Last two weeks of April or the first two weeks of May. It's off peak times (costs would be down) and we would also get to enjoy the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot, if you've never been during that time, it's really pretty and worth experiencing. :flower3:

No, but with all the dissers in your area - you should find one to carpool with! Or can you swim? :lmao:

Dawn- I am a Medical Technologist. Whenever you have blood drawn or a urine sample done..... or pretty much anything on any type of body fluids... I'm the one who does it! I love my job even though I have to "play" in things most people try to avoid as much as possible!
Motherhood is something I really really want to experience, I just hope things are smoother the next time we get pregnant. I had planned on jeans and hoodies at night (probably with gloves and a scarves for me!) and capris during the day. We leave in 4 weeks!!

I'm going to try to finish your trip report tonight, but so far these dang folks won't stay out of the ER!! Is toe pain really an emergency?!?!? Oh, but my favorite was the night last week when someone came to the ER for head lice...

I have never eaten at WCC this trip will be a first for me. I know what to expect, nobody else in my trip does. I hope it all plays out well, I plan to take my Birthday buton off for that ressie though.

Let's talk bacon! My son had learned that eating a snickers bar is like eating 15 strips of bacon. He told his teacher, "I'm not a big candy bar eater, but I love bacon, if they can come up with a way to make that into a candy bar I'm sold, I even have the slogan, "Bacon bar, it's the equivalent of a snickers, might as well eat it."....Ok yea, that's not as funny when it's written out, now I ask myself should I leave it here and just have people read and go:confused3 or do I delete it? I'll leave it, people be kind to me.

Treyner and Lincoln Logs, some people never outgrow a good toy, mine is Tinker Toys and will leave it at that.

My DH says the same thing about the job security part.... my only complaint is that if the majority of these hypochondriacs had to pay the co-pay to go to the ER that I have to pay, then they might just take nyquil and go to bed for that runny nose.... or eat a cough drop for the sore throat.... or GASP!! by a pregnancy test at Wal-Mart :scared1:!

That would be great - I have quite a few but am missing the rest and the next day at Universal with Treyner's ex that came and his official B-day when we hit 3 parks in one day!

We have a few cards that we put in the camera and I do not think I used a 3rd one - we have one from this summer in Colorado - the stupid card will not upload anything - show that there are pics on it - frozen. Taking it to Target in hopes they can figure it out. It is all the pics of dropping off Treyner - I am going top cry if they are destroyed!

I don't think even that would motivate me! Dh got me a Wii Active for my bday in September because my butt is in a race with my knockers (hopefully that won't get censored out) to see which can reach my knees faster! you would think the butt would win since it's closer...but the knockers are seriously giving it a good try! I will post an update now on DHS but I am missing a boat load still of pics from later that night and Epcot the next day and for the rest of the trip. I know I have a few on the computer so I am not crazy that I took them and I will get the rest done as soon as I can. They have to be here somewhere - if you all remember that the card they are on is no longer embedded and Dan's computer that they were on took a digger - so if I can't find these I am stewed and that has me in panic mode and panic mode is never a good thing! The next update is not a knee slapper - more reflective and a ton of pics!

Pray please for those darn CD's! :worship:

Day 8 - How Much is the Light Bill?

This was the day that Treyner waited for the most! DHS. Not because we adore this park but the lights were supposed to be spectacular and Treyner is the Christmas light nazi here.

We got to the studios about mid - morning and did ToT (Treyner is finally brave enough to go on. He was petrified after his first ride and would not until we were here in 2005 and then only because the dance group he was with - forced him to. Something about girls calling him a wuss made him man up!) and RNR and screamed and wanted to die.

In fact I did RNR only once, Dan did it twice and the kids did it 3 times. While we were waiting for the kids to come out the last time, we stood down by the exit ramp - where the glass sliding doors let you out into the open square. We were close to the doors and Dan - was much closer than I.

You see he was resting his head against the glass window, closing his eyes and resting. People came down the ramp, I am paying attention to them and not Dan, they walk through the doors to leave and BLAMO for the second time this trip! All of a sudden, Dan is holding his head, he is bleeding everywhere and I was not sure how standing where he was at - had involved an injury.

I head over to him and he explained he had got his head hit by the door when it opened. The sliding door came far enough out to the sides that the thing had cracked him in the eyebrow. He with his eyes shut, was not paying attention and now - was in need of first aid.

I had some of Baylor's med stuff with and handed him a gauze sheet - I should of thought about it and handed him a tampon! How funny would that have been - some big 6'6 guy with a tampon on his melon!
http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:cDct9cGme4Tm4M:http://www.mypapercrane.com/shop/images/tampons.jpg

And just think - I poo pooed someone who carried an extra in her purse for just this sort of thing!
the kids come down the ramp now - and see us, and ask the pertinent details. I explain and they busted out laughing. Again, nice family. Seriously though, how the heck do you hit your head on a sliding door? That is about as awesome as walking into a glass deck door!

We went to the first aid station, which is over by guest services for future reference, and they filled out a report. The nurse even chuckled when he explained the mishap. The cut was actually pretty wide. Split it super bad but not too deep. So he said no to stitches that she offered he go get at a local hospital, and got some butterfly strips.

He had his sunglasses on thank goodness because the sun made him squint which in turn hurt the heck out of his eyebrow. The boys were now laughing even harder because Dan looked like a new version of Nelly.
http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:6OZ5UxYCuLY-AM:http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_m2Mf41xutGM/RZ2-nAfKi-I/AAAAAAAAABQ/AsRjF6NsWwE/s400/nelly.jpg
Instead of the Band-Aid on the cheek though - it is in his eyebrow hairline - and beyond obvious. Oh yeah, and Dan is white. Other than that, him and Nelly are identical!

We made it back to see Beauty and the Beast and walked and shopped a bit before heading to our ADR's at Prime Time. They were busy so we sat at the bar and here I found out some tidbits of info I am still confounded by.

Talking to John the bartender, who had been here for 10 years. I was perusing the menu and noticed the fried cheese was no longer available as an appetizer and was again out a planned order!

Again, like at Kona's I was perplexed and asked him how long it had been gone. He said a few months and I told him I was surprised since it was so popular. He said, "Because it is popular it is gone."

Now I am not a smart woman but I can do math :teacher: and a big seller means more money for Disney so WTHeck? :confused3

John said that the food vendor had just raised prices for Disney on certain items. Items that sold a lot got bigger increases so Disney decided to dump them because it was so expensive to keep.

Now here are a few food for thought moments I had.

#1 I do not know if they had a contract with said vendor but since the cost went up - I am assuming it was either under negotiation or it is a flexible contract. Why then, did Disney not just say - screw you - and find another vendor instead of leaving less popular things behind?

#2 Did Disney just figure who cares because now with the dining plan people are eating here more than before and they will eat what is put in front of them so to speak?

#3 Since the reg. dining plan, which is the most popular, does not include appetizers did they think people would not notice? I know it did also affect other menu offerings for entrees so that is not 100% the only impact though.

The other thing John said was that the restaurants not owned strictly by Disney, like at Epcot etc...were not as affected because they make their own rules with their own vendors.

Knowing this made me wonder who is at the helm of these decisions and where can I get a job as CEO of food vendors at Disney because with this economy - Disney has a bigger pull than they are using. IMO if Disney said bugger off to the vendor holding them by the pinkie, there would be 8,000 other companies who would die for a chance to work with such a huge brand name.

Maybe the food vendor has something on Disney so they are holding more cards than I know about. Maybe they are on to Pluto's shenanigans and have video evidence they are willing to take to TMZ! :rotfl2:

We were shouted at that our table was ready and we had this guy who was just a hoot. I know I took zero pics here - sorry. Pot Roast and Fried Chicken were ordered and he took special time to pay attention to the boys and their B-day buttons. He said they looked a bit odd to be identical twins!

He then noticed Baylor's leg and asked what had happened. When Baylor gave him the brief story - he joked and said, "So it was to impress a girl huh?"

He had a great sense of timing and was not too crass and as a guy still showed enough attention to Baylor to make him feel great but not mushy. That is a gift for a 12 year old boy.

We laughed and had so much fun there. As we left the parade was going on and I snapped a few pics as we were heading to the Stunt Show.
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/WDW%202008%20DHS/00000069.jpg

We saw the stunt show which Treyner had never seen and he loved it! Of course blowing up things and fast cars is most teen boys dreams! Baylor did well with the flames and fire and that made me so happy.

We stopped by the Cars station and the kids posed a bit!

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s129/dizneydawn/WDW%202008%20DHS/00000071.jpg

We got in line for Toy Story and had the most fun! None of us had been here since it opened so it was awesome experiencing it all together for a first time!

Then we heard the music and had to head over to see the lights. I totally got teary eyed as we rounded the corner and before us was millions upon millions of strands and moving parts and beautiful music. I will post the rest in pictures because it tells a better story than I could ever hope to.

I will say though that each park has it’s own Christmas and Holiday wonderment and I could not tell you that missing one over another is something I could pick. It was pure amazement and goose bumps on your toes kind of experience and your mind cannot comprehend it all no matter how long you stand there. We left and came back in a few times just because you wanted a fresh perspective and even though you see the light strands in the day - you cannot fathom them at night.

You're right - those lights are amazing! I was lucky enough to get to see them in 2006 and it is a memory that I won't likely soon forget! I'm hoping they'll be up if I get to go back to Disney in a couple of weeks. Too bad that's right before you leave b/c then we could have met up!

I'm also hoping to try Prime Time next time too! Sounds like you got such a good waiter!! I agree with all the stuff you said about Disney and food though...I think the Dining Plan does have a lot to do with it!! It's pretty sad!

Wow! I'm so jealous. Your Osborne Lights pictures came out much much better than mine did. Maybe I'll just steal yours if that's alright :rolleyes1 Those lights really do take your breath away. My whole family stood there in awe of them for a good 10 minutes. Other than the Ice Lights on the Castle, I think the Osborne Lights are the best thing about Disney at Christmastime.

We're trying 50's PT on our trip in May and I'm so glad you guys had a good time! That's our only ADR a was a little worried about.

I really hope the rest of your pictures turn up! I'm sure they're around somewhere!!

We have a laptop that has a broken plug inport - can't get a new battery because we tried and thus type of computer needs to be plugged in to charge the battery. One might be stuck in the CD slot there.

But there is a whole box missing. Carsyn made this awesome video for Treyner when he graduated and put tons of pics in it and I can't find tthis huge box of old CD's etc.

I have totally tore apart my office - have 2 boxes left to go through and then I am gonna cry.

There was stuff brought out to the garage as well and I am just praying that between moving Dan's stuff in and re-arranging everything it is somewhere.

I thought I found it yesterday and it was Treyner's 8th grade graduation. So funny!

Dawn is not feeling well so your regularly scheduled broadcast :happytv: has been hijacked by a slightly deranged grumpy

Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Thanks Dan! Be sure to give our best to Dawn, sorry to hear that she's not feeling well again....do you think it's something that will pass quickly?
Be sure to tell Dawn that I got her Christmas card and thought it was a nice surprise. Happy to hear that she's finally finishing the old report so she can move onto the new one. :) Hopefully it will be with a title that won't get her thrown off of the Dis boards.

DURAN DURAN Simon LaBon was to die for. Saw them in concert in the early eighties and it was a sea of estogen. Thousands of screaming females and me one of them, then we met them, at a holiday inn up the road from our house, in swim suits heading to the pool. :hippie::hippie::love::love: I was totally in love, that was before Dan but ohhhh what a memory. Still love their music guess I haven't grown up.

As soon as I unearth the chest, I will. Right now, it's got a ton of stuff stacked on top. We Duranies have to stick together, after all. =)
