We like our travel agent, Michele Snoddy, at Dreams Unlimited. She's professional and we didn't pay any more than those booking directly with Disney. Plus, she arranged all our dining reservations for us. We didn't have to worry about that! :cool1:

I'd recommend allowing a travel agent to handle the details, so you can be free to do other things. Great for me coz I'm a busy working Mom. I'm booked for Nov-Dec 09. Very excited! Thrilled to be missing most of Pop Warner again! I have nothing against organised sports for teens. I think it's great that they have an opportunity to participate in sports. I just want to avoid unnecessary noise and other activities usually associated with teens when so many of them of gathered together. Not my scene!! :rotfl2:

That must have been a long week. We got hammered, too, but Washington Park didn't lose power so we avoided the worst of it. Lots of felled trees around, and Siena College lost power for several days and actually canceled 2/3 of its finals! (To be made up at the beginning of next semester.) And then we got a break, right? Another one taking advantage of the Military Salute here! That combined with our timeshare and airline miles makes for a very economical trip to see the Mouse over Thanksgiving. We (DH, 2 DDs and I) will be there 21-28 Nov, offsite.

We were going to hold off booking until our adoption was final in Russia. But since we got the great deal with the military discount decided to book with what should plenty of time from the time adoption is final to trip. We are booked 4-11 November. With the military discount on tickets and 40% off room we figured that this would be our best chance to book. Although November seems so far off right now. But before that we hopefully need to take 2 trips to Russia to adopt. We are currently waiting on referral so we could get the call for the first trip anytime now.

Yes I am curious about that. I have been at Christmas and although it was beautiful I did not enjoy the long lines from the crowd. We are going 1 full week before Thanksgiving (taking the kids out for 2 days) and leaving on Black Friday. I believe we will miss the processional of lights which is a bummer but DH has a frequent flyer ticket and he has to leave that Friday to use it. This is a budget trip. ANYWAY do you think the majority of the crowd will be the weekend after thanksgiving or that whole week?

We plan to hit the parks pretty hard the first few days, hoping it won't be too bad at the beginning of the week, then just go with the flow on Thursday - Sunday.

We are booked at CR starting Nov 28th for a week! We went the week after Thanksgiving in 2007 and loved it. This past year we decided to do October, so I waited and then booked for 2009 as soon as I could.. I can't wait for the holidays this year.

Me and my BF will be there the week of 10/31-11/7 at CBR!! We'll get there and start it off with MNSSHP! I've only stayed on site twice (both were in our old motor home at Fort Wilderness) so I'm so excited for my first resort stay! Can anyone who has been to WDW for the 2nd and 3rd week of November -- i.e. between Jersey week/Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving -- comment on the crowd levels and wait times? We have traditionally gone the first week of December, but are thinking of changing that because December, 2008 was 3-4x more crowded than ever before, which still may not be that bad compared to other times of the year, but this part of November interests us due to fewer events, holiday stuff (but not as much) and warmer temps.

Any thoughts? :)

Weather = MUCH BETTER than September. Still warm enough to swim (80s) but not sweltering like September. Perfect at night.

Not sure about crowds, not having been there in September, but early November is usually a fairly quiet time, comparatively speaking.

I agree, Tikihula. We were there Nov. 8-16 last year and the weather was perfect for the most part. We had a couple hot days and 1 cold day, but otherwise it was great. We wore shorts every day. Our kids swam every night except for one. the crowds were not what I expected. Last year was our first year, so I have nothing to compare it to, but the crowds were not as big as I was thinking they would be. I don't think we waited more than 20 minutes for a ride (without fastpasses).

DH gave me the official OK for a trip this Thanksgiving!, Nov. 21-28 :cool1: We are bringing MIL with us and renting a 3 bedroom condo at Windsor Hills. I joined TGM on Monday and I am blown away at all the information. It will take me until November to digest it all, but I am excited!

Hi everybody,

After lurking, er, I mean, researching, for soooo many months, I am finally ready to become an active member of the disboards family. Why? Because we're going to WDW, baby!!! :yay:

DH (34), DD (8), me (35) and my folks (60s) will be road tripping from central NJ to (hopefully) our cabin at FW, 11/27-12/2. I've sent my price quote request off to AAA and hope to get the numbers within the next day or so.

Anyhoo, this will be DD's first trip to see Mickey and crew, and it is LONG OVERDUE. This kid has been a sucker for the mouse since day one (takes after her mother, she does!) and has already started her own little countdown clock. I can cry just thinking about it -- she is going to be blown away!!!

We chose the cabins after reading all the great info here on the boards, plus it makes sense -- our family is big into camping and cabining. Only problem is, it will be hard to go to just any ol' campground once we do it at WDW! KOA's just won't be the same! LOL

Well, thanks to you all for posting such valuable info and sharing your insights. It has made my trip planning go much more smoothly than it would have on my own. Hope to see some of you guys down there!!!

I cannot believe how excited we all are about going and we are 7 months away. This trip eclipsed the Williamsburg trip that is planned in April and it's all my kids are talking about now.

I hope that the weather is great for the cruise portion because it will be a first for my wife and kids and it will be the test for future cruises.

We are staying at the Polynesian and that in itself is a treat. We always drool over the place when we went to O'Hana for the breakfasts in the past.

Well, it's a wonderful feeling that brings our family together each day when we chat about the sites and experiences that we will see when we finally get to WDW and the DCL.

There's been some drama involved, my sister and dad want us to go with them to Mexico for Dad and Stepmom's 30th anniversary. I want to go back to WDW. I made the FINAL decision today that we are going to WDW instead. It's MY hard-earned money, and I don't feel particularly safe going to Mexico right now, especially with DD. So there you have it, back to WDW!!! DD is THRILLED!

I haven't booked yet, but I have my vaca from work scheduled for the week

Any suggestions on things he must do?

We're paying for CM breakfast for all of us and planning to do Sci-Fi. We'll make him hit the big rides, RNR, TOT, EE, KRR, Space Mtn, Splash, TT, Soarin', etc. I'm looking for shows and parades, etc. That's stuff DH and I never do. Also MVMCP? Is it worth it?

DH & I are going the last week in November (11/27 to 12/4). We were originally going in October but decided to go later. We just found a deal through the Air Force Vacation Club - $299 for 7 nights.

So we are going to book the Celebration World Resort this Friday and it works out to be cheaper than staying at the resorts with a military discount. We know we will have to pay parking, but even with that and paying a pet fee we are still coming out alot cheaper.

Can't wait to go. Now just have to wait for the park hours to get out. :hourglass

Really hoping there are lights up, I thought Osborne would be going for Thanksgiving night but now I see it might not start until the 30th:confused:.

Also trying to figure out plans for Thanksgiving, I'm going to call Disney Dining but does anyone know if we book holiday 180 days or 90 days out? I've read conflicting info.

November is a great time to visit WDW! If you can, I would go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. It is a wonderful evening in the Magic Kingdon and they make it snow on Main Street. Also, the weather is typically very nice, not to hot and not too cold. Although the weather can change on a dime, it is one of our favorite times to visit Florida. ENJOY the magic of your first trip!!! :)

P.S. I had no idea they changed the reservation dates to 90 days out instead of 180 days out. I called the other day, devastated because I was late and KNEW we would never get into CRT when we wanted it, and the lady said, "Uh, you're WAY too early for this!" I was shocked! She said they changed it in December. Then I came on here and looked it up, and sue enough, 90 days out. Now I am happy I have more time to plan my ADR's!

It will start to get PACKED around the 20th. My mom and I went the 3rd week in Nov. last year. The park crowds were very light, like a trickle, then on the Friday we were leaving, someone turned on the faucet. People were POURING into EPCOT. :scared1: We left after riding Spaceship Earth and went to DTD, and there were alot of people there.

But we had a GREAT week that week. The crowds were so low, and the weather was so nice, a bit cold, but great. We're going again this year!!! :woohoo:

I also found it nice to get to the parks when their opening. I'm so not a morning person, but the crowds are lower, they're low anyways. It's nice to walk around with only a few people though, and the opening shows are fun also.

Just a thought, but we are staying at CSR over a value for a couple of reasons:
1. CSR is the only mod with queen beds. (We really hate doubles)
2. Multiple covered bus stops. The value stops are open to the elements.
3. The pool factors in, but really don't know how much we will use it.
4. We were at CSR last year and really enjoyed the total atmosphere. It was a welcome escape of peace and quiet after the parks. The valuse are all disney all the time, and form what I have been told can be pretty noisy at times.
Your trip must be pretty long b/c with out 6 day trip the savings for booking a value only came to a little over $300. I am not sure what i would od as that is a lot of money to save, but for us it just wasn't worth giving up the amenities at CSR.

Oh, and on a side note:

We have stayed at ASMo and ASMu we are staying at CBR this time and can't wait. WE like ASMo but wanted to try something new. When we go in Nov/Dec we used the pool everyday.

Soooooo excited!!!! I work night shift and was just now trying to take a nap before going to work. I was lying in bed for over an hour imagining us on different rides and deciding what to do first, etc. I was picturing DD and me on Haunted Mansion, waving to my aunt and her BF in their car when we go past the mirror. Then at Splash, waiting in line. TSM, getting our triggers ready, waiting for Wishes thinking "look where we ARE!". I finally ended up getting up. No nap for me, I guess.

Hi, I just got back from my July trip 2 weeks ago, while there I bought a DVC for BLT, and I just booked my first trip on points for AKLV for Nov. 22-25!!! Even better is that me and the hubby are sneaking away without our kids, shhh don't tell!!::lmao:! After our 8 days with 5 kids I definately need a vacation without them!! The only bummer is that we are not in BLT but hey I'm in Disney and that's all that matters!:woohoo:
