New York Dec2008 the report day 2

me.....only going to buy shoes

my mum......only going because she thought of it !

DD .... only going to go ice skating

DS....only going to ride in the elevator at the empire state building

As yesterdays visit fullfilled Matthews wish today we decided to please dd ! after a nice breakfast at starbucks we caught a yellow cab down to battery park to take a boat ride to see Ellis Island ( where the 1st immigrants passed through on their way to the US) and to see Lady Liberty :)

the cab driver was lovely abd very chatty ! we had to queue here as we did at Empire state and also had to go through airport security :headache: i was asked to remove my watch and then promptly dropped it on the floor ( more on that later)

As we got back on the boat Matthew realised that he had left his gloves on one of the display cases :eek: and we went back to look and promptly missed the boat....luckily we only had to wait 10 mins for the next one !
at this point i looked at my watch and realised it had stoped working when i dropped it earlier :headache: :headache: i had to wear Ellie's !

After a wonder round century 21 ....opposite ground zero where matthew brought new gloves !! we headed for the Rockefeller centre and had a guided tour round the various buildings and just look at the tree !

After the tour Mum kindly paid for me and the kids to go ice-skating on the rink

All the walking and skating had made us hungry so we headed to planet hollywood for a meal

After a lovely meal (burgers all round we headed back to the hotel and had some drinks in the bar :thumbsup2

i was upset as the watch was a 21st birthday gift ! Luckily it was working the next day and has been fine since :)

sounds like a great day. great photos especially the tree. Great way to end an evening at Planet Hollywood, one of my favorites. We only stopped here to get my Planet Hollywood glass so only a drink no food at PH on our trip to New York.

I hated century 21 as well, it was like tk maxx on acid :rolleyes1
