This was an e-mail that my niece forwarded to me. This is not a freebie- however, I want to pass this along to my freaps. Stay safe while shopping this season:grouphug:

Toms River (NJ) Police Dept.

NOT A JOKE- BEWARE

Just last weekend on Friday night we parked in a public parking area. As
we drove away I noticed a sticker on the rear window of the car. When I
took it off after I got home, it was a receipt for gas. Luckily my
friend had told me not to stop as it could be someone waiting for me to
get out of the car. Then we received this email yesterday:

'**WARNING FROM POLICE***
**BEWARE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE--NEW CARJACKING
SCAM (NOT A JOKE)'***

Heads up everyone! Please, keep this circulating... You walk across the
parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine and
shif t into Reverse.

When you look into there rearview mirror to back out of your parking
space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear
window. So, you shift into Park, unlock your doors, and jump out of your
car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your
view. When you reach t he back of your car, that is when the carjackers
appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically
mow you down as they speed off in your car.

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car.
So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and
your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised!

**BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.***

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away.
Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you read this e-mail. I
hope you will. Forward this to friends and family, esp ecially to women.
A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification
documents, and you certainly do NOT want this to fall in to the wrong
hands.

I would have never known about Snopes had it not been for this board and me posting stuff and others showing me Snopes links. Before I tell people things now I tend to check there-- so i dont look stupid (which i have so many times through email). LOL... usually when I find out its not true I do the same thing, email people the snopes link. That doesnt say that it has never happened though-- so it could very well be true still!

What a great day for you! Today was fun for me too as i received my two pairs of socks and they're really nice! Thanks everyone for all the great freebies!!

Question for you computer experts --

When i printed the Goody coupon from their site, it printed twice fine.

So reading all these threads, i was inspired to print and use it again, but its coming out blurry. Its readable but i'm concerned it won't be able to be scanned.

I really don't wanna encounter any grouchy clerks :(

so any ideas why its printing like that, or how to make it clearer?

Help, please!!!

Help, Help, Help!!!!! Mom got a puppy for my kids.:confused3 We have kind of sort of looking for one. My husband and the kids twisted my arm until I gave in. She is house training him and we will pick him up Christmas. I need dog freebies. Housetraining videos, food, treats what ever you guys know of would be very appreciated. I have not clue:eek: . We have only ever had an old cranky cat.:scared: He died in the spring and the kids have wanted a dog ever since.:sad2: I am a sucker okay.:headache: Thank you all.

Sometimes your local Petsmart will offer a free training session. And the other day I saw they had Banfield coupons at the register for a free checkup, for new patients. pluto:

I have a question about these. I have never used them. I am looking at a $10 gift certificate. So it will cost me 60 cents with the discount. it states that the qualifications you have to spend $20. So tell me if I am doing this correct. I spend $20, give them the $10 gift certificate that I purchased for 60 cents and then give them $10 cash. So I am getting a $20 purchase for $10.60, correct. Actually now that I am writing this it seems a little more clearer.

No I think they all state one per vist.

Okay today I got in the mail a free Kashi bar that has a coupon for a free box. It also has 5 2 dollar off coupons.

I also got from vocalpoint a box that is from Saturn. It has little cards in it. But one end was open. Did anyone else get this? If so was anything else (like something good) in it?

It must have been Kashi/Saturn day. I got mine too. No, there was on other "goodies" in there. I was hoping for a key to a new car, but no such luck. :rotfl:

Oh I wish I knew that! I was back in BBW today, with hubby in tow (it still cracks me up that he loves this store), and our coupons.... but we didn't buy much.
Hubby was hassling the girls because the antibacterial soaps were 4/$10 last week and are now 3/$10 - he asked when they would go back to 4/$10 so he can come back and buy more.
Apparently they will have a sale starting the Monday after Christmas and then a big sale on New Years.
I have found that the 2 BBW stores we go to have the absolute best help in them- they are all personable, helpful, and fun. They either hire for personality or do a great training job. I had a girl bring me around the store today and tell me everything that was on sale. Should I be embarresed that my 4 transactions were .53, 1.06, 1.06. and 3.18?

I was disappointed that my standby antibacterial hand sanitizers that were $1 for weeks are now $2.50:headache: I ended up buying a couple $1 makeup bags, and the gift bags were down to 50 cents. Their huge tote bags are now only $5 but I didn't need one.

Anyway- thanks again for your continued insight on this store- I am officially addicted- and apparently so is hubby :rotfl2:

I got mine last week, but oddly enough mine is a "natural" color canvas tote, with black logo, and dark green straps! The black one would be really nice as it would not show any dirt! :thumbsup2 I think this was the freebie where you chose a bag, umbrella, or a third item I cannot remember.

I got the huge bags from there last week and I used my $10 off $30 so my bags were only about $3.50 each and I've used them as my reusable grocery bags and my shopping bags at places like target and the mall. I am also packing my xmas presents that we have to bring to relatives this year. I love the size and the price.

Just combine this $5 Energizer rebate with the $5 Walgreens EasySaver rebate to get your free rechargeable battery charger and four two batteries. It’s a moneymaker through Saturday since they’re on sale for $7.99, but the regular price is $9.99, so you can still get it for free through the end of the EasySaver rebate period which is 12/27.

Actually, we are having a heat wave when compared to what the temps were earlier in the week. :rotfl: Spokane got hit REALLY hard with snow today! I am glad I am here and not there. :goodvibes

OMG, I live right across the border from Spokane in Coeur d' Alene, ID, we got 30 inches of snow in less than 48 hours. Most of Spokane and CDA shut down, which I've never seen happen here before. We set a new local record of snowfall. It was crazy, we're waiting for another storm to come in tonight and then another later next week!! :scared1:

We are about 40 minutes southeast of Seattle, in the foothills of the Cascades. We have gotten about 3 inches of snow since 7pm and are having wind gusts up to 75mph. We are hoping the power stays on, but it has started flickering in the last hour. :sad2:

Everything is shutting down here as well. DD went to school one day this week and it was on delay. DH has been working from home since Wed. We just moved from MI, so it seems silly to have a whole state shutting down for a few inches of snow, but we are quickly understanding the impact snow & ice have on the mountainous terrain. DH tried to make it to work on Thursday, he got about 6 miles from the office when the police started shutting down the highways and the majority of the roads in Seattle, so he turned around and came home. The news was reporting that even if you made it into the city, you couldn't get into the parking garages because of all the road closures.

She was telling me how everything was getting shut down. We always get your weather as it moves east so we all watch Spokane year 'round. I guess we're in for another wave of snow, then. DS is coming home from college tomorrow. I hope he makes it thru before we get dumped on again.
