BFF's, Nanaheads and a Mutt take over the Magic..Nov29-Dec 6

A little back history before I start this trip report. In 06 we sailed the week after Thanksgiving never knowing (the brain blots out the bad you know) that we would make friends on that cruise who would change our lives.
Enter the nanaheads, the name our cruisemates and I came to be called we had an incredible time with these people and knew we would sail again with them. In the course of the year of 2007 over the wonder of the DIS I got to really know better 3 of the women from our 06 cruise (enter the BFF's) then diaster struck, due to school restrictions we would not be able to sail in 07.

Now once I got over the fact that they would sail without me ( I know how rude right, what kind of BFF would do that) I told my dear sweet husband that come heck or high water I was sailing in 08.

Now we enter 08, the BFF's who sailed made nice nice with a few other friends on board (yes we do play well with others, mind you) and the BFF club is now 6 strong. some of us even had a mini meet in gatlinburg in July, but thats a WHOLE other story.

Its November now and we are preparing for our trip, FE gifts to make, BFF gifts to create and adult beverages to buy to get ready for our Magical cruise.

Day one for me is Thanksgiving Day since thats the day we leave on vacation!!!

we woke early that Thursday(can anyone really sleep the night before you leave) and the panic sets in, how much has to be done before 2 when we are expecting to leave!! In between numerous BFF calls that morning, DH, DS and I go to our respective parents houses for lunch and then I leave our DS who cannot sail with us due to his HS not excusing vacations, with his grandparents. ( Enter good catholic guilt here) Now enough of that I am on vacation and a mere 24 hours from BFF love!!!!!
I rush home and DH and I pack the car and we are off on our 10 hour drive to Orlando.:dance3:

We only need to briefly stop for gas and potty breaks and we arrive in Orlando at 2am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so freakin' happy that I cannot sleep!

BFF LAW #1- Probably not a good idea to bounce up and down on a 10 hour drive with a cranky DH counting down the hours to you see your BFF's, every 20 minutes or so

Now where we left off we had arrived in Orlando at 2am... since Black Fridy is my favorite day of the year I woke up 2 hours later and hit a few stores for some bargains then drove back to the hotel to pick up DH and head to DTD for the first BFF encounter ( Hi Christine).

Mikey and I left the hotel at 9 and after numerous texts from BFF-NV during the long 15 minute drive to DTD we arrived!!!!!! BFF Law #2- men will not understand how you can call someone your BFF and want to have a long lunch with them having never met them before this moment:confused3

We parked by McDonalds and walked into DTD and minutes after setting foot on ground we met Christine and Joey:lovestruc :lovestruc Joey was a little quiet at this point but boy would that change in the days to come.
We headed over to World of Disney and did a bit of shopping then went to get in line for lunch at T Rex.

We had a great lunch and the cocktail countdown began.... Christine and I had Cotton-tini's which were to die for

The food was good the company great but it was time to head to the Radisson for our pre cruise party and BFF meet.

Neither can 13 yr old DD...You can just hear this with a 13 yr olds sassy voice...Ok mom Ok mom So today's is the day you are going to meet people who you don't even know exist and you call them your BFF's...Then at the Radisson...Mom is with "real" people now. All said only like a 13 yr old can say it.

Edited to add...My 13 yr old now loves my BFF's DD and niece, and all the rest of the Nana kids, friends nieces and grandchildren...Go figure:confused3

We finally arrive (for the record GPS on the I phone rocks) we get checked in, chat with Christine and Joey (its been an hour since we saw them) and get our overnight bags in the room.
Then it happened I got the text I had been waiting for."we are here"
I went flying out the room towards the lobby and ran into Denise and Sue after a quick hi and a I cannot talk the BFF's are here (sorry again Denise but I hadn't seen Woo in months) I got to the lobby and screamed there in front of me was my WOO!

Just when it couldn't get any better in walked my other BFF's Cheri and Kim life was grand at this point. Our mini meet had finally begun. We all sat by the pool and the adult merriment had commenced (thats cocktails people)

with lots of nanas staying at the Rad we had a great time getting to know or reknow another and for the record the day was one of the longest known to man! How many times did we say is it only ? oclock??????
