I wasn't sure where to post this as it isn't scrapbooking, but I wanted to share my little project with my Mickey friends. I cut this with my Cuttlebug and the Christmas die and put it on the glass block that I had put etching on the front. I stuffed it with a string of lights with a white cord. I plan to put a bow on the top but haven't gotten there yet.

See further down for a pic of the block with the bow on it.

Yes it is, and it also has the village and trees that are on the bottom, all on one plate.

I didn't use a drill. I used my Cuttlebug and the Disney "Christmas is Coming" die cut. And the vinyl I used is Wall Pops that is on sale at Lowes right now.

I think she was asking what kind of drill bit did you use to drill the hole in the glass block in order to be able to put the lights in?

It is so cute. I saw some glass block with lights at a craft thing recently. THey had just wrapped some ribbon around the block to make it look like a gift. I like yours MUCH better! ......................P

Oh, sorry about that, I didn't drill it myself. I bought the blocks at Lowe's and they were already pre-drilled. Next time I make a bunch of these, I am going to see if my hubby can possibly drill them for me, because they are so much cheaper if you drill them yourself. I have read that you need a diamond drill bit in order to cut the glass. HTH

I decided that a bow on top would make this look a little more finished., and I needed to play with my new Bowdabra Here is the pic:

I just love the way they turned out!! I didn't know that Lowe's had the glass block. Guess I'm stopping this week after all.

Diamond bit...wonder if DH has one of those...

I have three Lowe's within driving distance of my home and office. Only one of them carried the pre-drilled blocks ($10.00) All of them carried glass blocks of some sort

That is so stinkin' CUTE! I love it! Would you be able to sell something like this on eBay or etsy? Or is that copyright infringement somehow? You could make a fortune on these for next Christmas!! Hint, hint!! ;)

I hadn't even thought about that--just had fun making it--how much do you think something like that would sell for? I saw these at a craft fair--no Mickey on them, just the clear block with lights and then a pretty bow and a festive holiday pick tied around it to make it look like a package. She was selling those for $30.00, which I almost choked on.

LOVE IT!!!

You should be able to sell it on EBay you just have to watch how you word it. You CANNOT say "Mickey Christmas Light" that is copyright infringement. You should be able to say - "Handcrafted Christmas light complete with Mickey Mouse". If you have any questions check out the Ebay forums, someone will help you there for sure.

AWESOME JOB!!!!

Let us all know if you sell them! I think you could easily get $30 for it. It's so cute. I've seen plenty of junk in the stores for much more than that!
