I think we are leaning towards the french quarters. Is this a good decision? We are going with another family and the kids ages are 4,5& 7.
Questions for the french quarter:
1- Which building should we request?
2- What kind of pool and slide does this resort have?
3- What is the earliest time you can check in?(I hear that the check in at the all stars are horrible. How is it here? We will be staying at the vistana for the first 4 nights, so we can go as early as possible to beat the rush.
4-What type of schedule does the boat run on to/from downtown disney?
Thanks!!

I would go with POFQ. It's really about theming I think. FQ seems more elegant. I am just not into the "Huck Finn" theme. I had a great CM who talked us into staying there, and we were so glad. The resort is small so no matter where your room is you are close to the pool and food court. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and landscaping, and you can always walk to RS and use the pool etc. The pool at FQ was great. My daughter loved it, never too crowded and has a fun slide. I loved getting up early and walking to the gift shop. My daughter insisted on getting animal crackers every day. It was just so quiet and peaceful and beautiful. I will definately stay there again! Good Luck.

POFQ is a nice small resort. Lots of Mardi Gras theming including the pool with a huge dragon slide and comical alligators strategically placed. We like buildings 3,4 or 5 because of their proximity to the food court. Check out the walking tour at www.disneyzone.net/portorlresort.htm. They have maps and some great pictures. As for your last question you can c/i at anytime but the rooms are not guaranteed to be available until after 3pm. Saying that the c/i at POFQ is much better then the AS and we always go ahead and c/i when we arrive. Alot of times a room will be available. It all depends on how busy the resorts are when you go.
