Hi everyone,
After being on the boards for a couple years and reading lots of great dining reviews I figure I'll try my hand at one. As always a little background first:
Me (jeminni) 51, been to disney many times. A lover of most foods, usually willing to try most anything. The only thing I dont like to do on a vacation is eat something like a burger, I can have that anytime. I want something different on vacation . :) I'm not much of a dessert fan so I'll mostly be having creme bruelees. ;) This will be the first time I've gone in December so I'm really looking forward to seeing all of the decorations and Christmas activities. :goodvibes
DD ( Mica ) 21, she has also been to disney numerous times. This trip it will be just her and I. Hey father, my DH has never been to disney with us. He has no desire to go since he already knows he would hate it. :P But since he doesnt object to any of us going without him it's all good. :) When Mica was a freshman at Johnson&wales, I went on a trip with just her DB 23. I didnt tell her about it until after we returned, figuring it was her first time away from home, at school and in another state and I wanted her to do well her first term and not to be missing classes. This trip is a makeup trip for just her and I. Her purpose on this trip is to take a picture of herself lounging in a hammock at CBR with a drink in her hand that she can send to her brother. :rotfl: She also wanted to go to Pleasure Island but since that is no longer there I told her we can try some drinks throughout the world ( except for in the Magic Kingdom of course) We'll see is she can accomplish that. ;)
We are on the DDP. Right now our ADRS are:
Crystal Palace (D) then MVMCP
Tutto Italia ( thanks MickiNicki :)) then Candlelight Processional
late night snack at Spoodles
Coral Reef (L) with a personalized menu she will probably kill me for making ;)
Le Cellier (L)
Grand Floridian Afternoon Tea ( thanks Brenda:))
O'hana ( tradition we do on our last night)
CS- the only place I know I want to for sure go to is WPE- I love that place :goodvibes
I have never taken pics of food before or posted anything on here, so I'm not promising anything on that end. The weather is supposed to be mostly nice while we are there and I hoping to run into some people from the DIS boards while I'm down there. Oh I almost forgot, we're going to be attending the DU and Podcast TSM meet on Saturday night.
I think thats all for now, I still have to finish packing and get to bed so I can get up at 3 am, Got to love those early morning flights.

well what do you know? Instant flashback to the days when I was allowed to stay up and tape the Dr. Demento show.
In Heaven there is no beer
That's why we drink it here
And when we're all gone from here
Our friends will be drinking all the beer.
In Heaven there is no wine
So we drink till we feel fine
And when we leave this all behind
Our friends will be drinking all the wine.
Have fun Bridget. I'm there myself as of Friday night. Leave me some wine.

Have a wonderful trip. I'm looking forward to your dining reviews. I haven't eaten at any of the places you're planning on but Tutto Italia tops my list of a must-try for a future trip. I also love afternoon tea anywhere so I can't wait to hear how it is at GF. I'm also really curious about Coral Reef. Would love to dine there for the atmosphere but worry about the food. Let me know what you think.

I'm back. :goodvibes
Our trip was mostly great, you gotta love 80 degrees and sunny in December. :)
The decorations were so beautiful and we both loved MVMCP. I love how everything was decorated so well. I still need to download all of our pictures before I start our reviews. Unfortunately Mica was sick the first 3 days of our trip and I didnt feel all that well the next 2 days so we missed some of our ADRs.
Here's a pic until I can download our pics.

Mica bought me an ornament tree and some Mickey head ornaments. She just put it up today and her dad came home and knocked it over with his jacket. Two of the ornaments broke. :sad1: Dad felt bad and told her we just have to go back next year so she can buy me more ornaments. :cloud9:
I'm good with that. :)

Sorry it's taking me awhile to really get started on this review. Darn Christmas stuff keeps getting in the way. :rotfl: I spent the day shopping, wrapping gifts, cleaning and I'm supposed to be starting making cookie dough now. Instead I'm sitting here sipping a glass of wine and getting ready to watch The Wizard of Oz.:goodvibes One thing I did buy today was a bottle of Rosa Regali for our Christmas dinner. :) I tried it for the first time on Thanksgiving and really enjoyed it.
We left Pittsburgh at 6 am on 12/11. The weather was cold and snowing when we left. Mica had been sick the day before we left with a stomach bug and was still looking abit green when we boarded the plane. Our flight was delayed as they de-iced the plane. Once we were airborn our flight was rerouted due to bad weather over the carolinas. We finally got into Atlanta airport having exactly 3 mins to travel to another concourse and catch our connecting flight. :scared1: When we got off the plane they were announcing that we would be getting right back on to go to Orlando. At least we didnt have to run across the airport. ;) We got back onboard and landed in Orlando @11:30. We quickly made our way through ME and soon found ourselves checking in at CBR. This was the first time we had ever been to this resort. While it is beautiful it is a very big resort. It was pouring down raining when we got there so we took the internal shuttle to our room. Our original plan was to go to DTD for lunch but since we hadnt eaten at all yet today we decided to try the resorts food court. Hopping the internal bus again ( dang rain ) we went to the food court. I'm sorry there's no pictures here, we hadnt unpacked anything yet and we were starving by this point.
Lunch: we split a greek salad and a phlly cheesesteak sandwich. The salad was romaine lettuce, red onions, kalamata olives, tomatoes and peppercini and greek dressing. The sandwich was shaved beef and cheese on a hoagie roll. It came with your choice of chips or pasta salad. Since we were on the meal plan we also could have a drink and a dessert. We both had hot tea and premade chocolate cake. The salad was nice and fresh and very nice sized. The cheesesteak sandwich was just what you would expect nothing fancy but it was filling. We took most of the salad, all the pasta salad and the cakes back to our room. Unfortunately we never did get around to eating any of them and had to throw them away when we left. :(
Would we eat there again? I would but I wish we would have went to WPE instead. It was pouring down rain, we were hungry and Mica still wasnt feeling great so this was the best option for us.
Next up Crystal Palace dinner and MVMCP. Will the rain stop so we can go to the party? It's already 3pm and still pouring outside. Oh and did I mention the one thing I forgot to pack was ponchos? :confused3 Stay tuned for more.:goodvibes

Finally around 4:30 the rain stopped and the sky cleared up.After putting on our Christmas shirts Mica and I were off to MVMCP. :) Entering the park we stopped to admire the beautiful Christmas tree on Main street.
http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww81/jeminni/P1000800.jpg
After ooohing and ahhing over the tree and all the Christmas decorations we linked arms together and began making our way down Main Street to our ADR at Crystal Palace. Everything was just so beautiful and magical that we just couldn't help smiling at everybody and everything. One of the balloon vendors must have liked Mica's smile. He came running across the street to put his balloons all around her and posed for a picture with her.
http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww81/jeminni/P1000505.jpg
We finally made it to the Crystal Palace and checked in for our 6:20 reservation. The restaurant was crowded when we first got there so we took our pager and went and sat on the patio. Actually I was glad we were still outside for it was almost time for the Castle lighting. At 6:30 the castle icicle lights cane on. What a beautiful sight, it brought tears to my eyes.
http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww81/jeminni/P1000516.jpg
We sat around admiring the Castle and people watching til 6:45 when our buzzer went off and we were escorted into the dining room. We made it in just in time for the start of a parade. ;) Piglet and Tigger were leading a group of napkin waving children followed by picture taking parents all around the dining room. Rather than get trampled down trying to get to the buffet line we sat and wtched the parade before going up to the food.
The Buffet is set up in 2 sections, each having the same set of food then meeting in the middle at the carving station. The children's buffet section is at the beginning on each line. Tonight it had macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers and green beans. Moving over to the big section, first are the assorted dinner rools and breads, followed by a large salad selection. The next part of the buffet has hot meats and vegetables, then a soup selection and finally the carving section. A chef is there waiting to carve you as much Prime Rib and turkey as you want. In the middle of the buffets are the desserts. It wasnt a big selection but they did have cookies, ice cream, tiramisu, pie and cake. It was still extremely crowded when we were there so I couldnt get any pictures of the buffets. Instead here's a picture of my first plate:
http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww81/jeminni/P1000520.jpg
Beet salad with Sag Dhal dressing, very good
Balsamic rice
Ancho chili rubbed Salmon. I love this salmon, I would go here just for this :)
Vegetables in a balsamic glaze
Thai curry mussels
Herb roasted turkey
Fruit and vegetable tofu curry
Slow roasted Adobo pork
Mica's first plate:
http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww81/jeminni/P1000518.jpg
Prime Rib
Cream cheese mashed potatoes
Chicken fingers
Mediterrean pasta salad
peel and eat shrimp
Rotisserre chicken
She wasnt feeling all that great yet, so only ate about half of her food.
continued on next post...

Beet Salad with Sag Dhal Dressing
Romaine and Bleu Cheese Salad

Mica had a small plate of desserts that she ate part of:
http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww81/jeminni/P1000522.jpg
tiramusu
chocolate whiskey trifle
chocolate peanutbutter cake
I was too full to have any dessert but I did try one bite of her tiramusu. It was too sweet for me but it is one of her favorite desserts.

I'm not a big fan of buffets but I've always enjoyed this restaurant. It's very pretty inside and everytime I've been here the food has always been fresh and the buffet has been replenished frequently. And of course there's that chili rubbed salmon .:goodvibes
Total cost: 2 TS
Would we come again? yes
After dinner we went to MVMCP. The park was emty that night, probably due to all the rain earlier. We walked right onto every ride and rode everything a couple times. The Christmas fireworks and parade were great and the CMs were begging people to come in and have cookies and hot chocolate. And who would not love snow on Main street? :cool1: :) :thumbsup2

Don't knock yourself out about delays on your report. It took me a **coughcoughMONTHcoughcough** for me to post my latest update.
And I think that pre-pubescent looking balloon vendor might have liked Mica's smile, but I really think he wanted a picture with a "Naughty" girl. :rotfl2: As for the food, I keep hearing about that salmon at Crystal Palace. I don't know if I'd want to pay character premium pricing to have it, though. ;)

LOL, I never thought about what her shirt said as he ran across Main Street to us. :lmao:
I love the salmon at CP, if you go for free dining or on the DDP you should try it. It really is great. I wanted to just take the whole platter. ;)

Captain Cook's, Tutto Italia and Old Port Royale
We decided to start on second day by visiting the Polynesian and Grand Floridian to see their Christmas decorations. We hopped the bus to MK then took the monorail to the Polynesian. The inside of the resort was beautiful, as always. There was a display of small gingerbread houses inside the doorway from the monorail. We spent some time admiring them and the Christmas tree before heading downstairs to Captain Cook's. Our original plan was to split the Tonga toast there but but the time we arrived at 10:35 they were no longer serving breakfast. :( After looking at the screen of the self serve kiosk we decided to split a mediterrean flatbread, a bottled water and a blueberry muffin. The flatbread came out nice and hot with feta cheese and spinach on it. ( Sorry no pictures today, I still hadnt got used to taking pictures of our food yet ;) ) Other than being a little too crunchy around the edges it had a nice fresh taste to it. We asked to have the muffin packed to go as we planned to have it for breakfast the next day.
Total cost 1 CS
I would still love to try here again for the Tonga Toast
We walked through the grounds, followed by a group of baby ducklings. They were so cute. :goodvibes After checking out the volcano pool and putting staying at the Poly on our list of things we want to do we hopped back on the monorail to the Grand Floridian. This has to be one of the most beautiful resorts at Christmas time. :) As soon as you entered all you smelled was gingerbread. Both the tree and the gingerbread house are amazing. We stopped to take pictures and bought a gingerbread shingle while we were there. If you ever go to WDW during Christmas be sure to stop here. it is just so beautiful. We hopped back onto the monorail to the transportation and ticket center then onto the Epcot monorail. Off to our Tutto Italia reservation.
Entering Epcot we rode Spaceship Earth then went to get a FP for Soarin'. We walked through a couple of countries until our reservation time at Tutto Italia. I have read many recommendations of this restaurant here and after reading them and hearing very good reviews from both MickeyNicki and Marsh0013 I couldnt wait to try it. :) Our reservation was for 2:20 pm. The waiting area was about 3/4 full when we walked in. I heard a hostess telling a man they were not accepting walkups that day. When I reached the podium there was a separate hostess for diners going to the Candlelight processional. She asked me to bring her a copy of my bill when we were done and then she would give us our tickets for the show. We waited about 10 minutes until they called our name.
A hostess led us into the restaurant and seated us at a small table by the windows. The dining room was about half full when we first entered but soon was filling up rapidly. Our server, whos name I cant remember, came right over and asked if were on the dining plan. He asked to see our cards then explained that we could order one entree, one dessert and one soft drink or coffee. The bottled waters were not on the dining plan but could be purchased separately as could any alcoholic drinks. He brought a plate of breads to the table as we looked over the menu. There were 3 different kinds of bread, Italian, sourdough and some type of crispy flatbread with butter. All very extremely fresh and tasty. We nibbled on them but didnt eat too much so we had room for our entree. I was very disappointed to see that the pasta with crabmeat was no longer on the menu. I asked if it could be substituted but he said regrettably no. :sad1:
Mica ordered the Sacchetti - pasta pillows filled with ricotta and mozzarella cheese and pomdoro sauce. These were nice fluffy pasta pillows filled with cheese in a very tasty tomato sauce. She let me have a bite, for this reviews sake of course ;) and it had a nice creamy taste. I think there were about 9 pieces of pasta in the dish. She finished about 6 of them.
After much debate I ordered the Tagliatelle alla Primavera - tagliatelle egg pasta with zucchini, broccoli, peas, mushrooms, and tomatoes in a light cream sauce. Although it wasnt the crabmeat I had been dreaming of this was a very yummy tasting entree. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the cream sauce accented the vegetables rather than overpowering them and the pasta. A very nice looking Italian waiter cane over to offer us fresh parmesean cheese to top our dishes, which made everything alittle better. ;) The portion size was more than adequate. My only regret was that since we were going to the Candlelight Processional afterwards we couldnt take the leftovers with us. I would have loved to have had the rest the next day for lunch. But we had to save room for...dessert. :)
Mica had her favorite dessert: Tiramisu. Mocha Tiramisu - mascarpone cheese, espresso coffee, savoiardi biscuits and chocolate. The portion was hugh! It was light and fluffy and she said it was absolutely delicious. She managed to eat about half of it. I was way too full for dessert so I ordered the cannoli to go. Cannoli - crisp pastry filled with sweet ricotta, chocolate and candied orange. We ended up saving this for the next morning. It made a very yummy breakfast treat. When we left we stopped at the hostess station to pick up our tickets for the 5:00 CP show. The waiting area was packed full of people waiting to get in.
Would we eat there again? Yes, especially if they'd put the crabmeat entree on the menu.
Total cost 2 TS
We had originally planned to go to Spoodles later that evening to try their Sangria but Mica started feeling a little yucky again so we just headed back to our resort. Around 9:00 I walked over to the food court at Old Port Royale and brought a CS meal back to our room . We split the Rotisserie chicken with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables and a slice of cornbread. I passed on the dessert. The meal was ok, basically what you would get at a Boston Market or someplace like that. We ate about half of it while we watched The Dark knight on our portable dvd player.

Coral Reef 12/13
Saturday Mica was finally feeling better so we decided to go to Epco for the park's opening . We had a noon ADR at the Coral Reef. Breakfast today was our blueberry muffin and cannoli saved from yesterday. We then hopped a bus to Epcot and explored Future World until noon. A side note: I liked the old Spaceship Earth descent much better than the new one. But I did find a hidden mickey on the new ride. :)
We went into the Coral Reef right at noon and checked in at the podium. I had found out on the boards about requesting a personalized menu and a diver and had emailed Debbie and set it up. She had me email her some pictures and what I wanted the menu to say. Unfortuneately she said she couldnt get us a diver but I was still happy with the personalized menu. I knew Mica would kill me ;) but it would be worth it. She was standing right next to me when we checked in so I couldnt ask the hostess if the menu was ready. When we were led to our table I did manage to whisper to the host if they were there. He winked and showed me them in his hand. Mica was like " Mom what are you asking him?" I told her I was just asking if we could be seated near the aquarium. ;) He led us to a table by the tank and presented us with our menus. :goodvibes

http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww81/jeminni/P1000923.jpg
Our waiter ( why do I always forget to write their names down? ) not only had to look at the pictures, he called a couple other waiters over to see them too. It's a good thing it was a little dark in there since Mica was blushing so much at all the attention. Most of the waiters were cute so that probably helped her blush too.:goodvibes After looking at the written menu we placed our orders.
Mica had the Grilled New York Strip Steak - served with potatoes au gratin and broccolini. She ordered it medium rare and said it was cooked perfectly although it did have a bit of fat in it. Her only complaint was the potatoes au gratin : there wasn't any of them ! :confused3 When our waiter came back to ask how our dinner was we mentioned it to him. He apologized and offered to go get her some but she told him it was ok she had enough to eat.
http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww81/jeminni/P1000658.jpg
After some debate I ordered the catfish entree. Blackened Catfish - served over pepper jack cheese grits, topped with smoked tomato compote, and drizzled with a balsamic glaze. This was very good, the fish was nice and flaky with a just a bit of heat in the spices. The grits were creamy and paired perfectly with the fish. I had read where other posters thought this meal was a bit too spicy but I enjoyed it.
http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww81/jeminni/P1000659.jpg
As we were eating this turtle kept swimming past. :cutie:
http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww81/jeminni/P1000661.jpg
The restaurant was fairly crowded but was not noisy at all. There were quite a few people taking pictures of the aquarium but noone was rushing up and crowding the tank. While we were looking at the dessert menu I could hear people at some other tables saying that there were divers in the tank feeding the fish. I had told Mica earlier that I had tried to get her a diver but one wasnt avaliable. The next thing we knew a diver came to the window right in front of us and started waving. He unrolled a poster that said " Michaela and mom's girls only trip." Everyone around was asking who was Michaela so I , the helpful person that I am, just *had* to point her out. :lmao: She said " mom, were do you learn about these things?" I told her " from the DIS boards of course ." I think I heard her mumbling something about banning me from this site. :) But for all her complaining she couldnt stop smiling about everything.
http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww81/jeminni/P1000665.jpg
After all that it was time for dessert. Mica ordered the chocolate wave- chocolate cake with chocolate icing topped with brandied cherries. Our waiter offered her a free drink since the kitchen forgot part of her order. She had a glass of wine, I didnt put down what kind it was in my notes but she enjoyed it.
http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww81/jeminni/P1000666.jpg
I had the Bailey's and Jack Daniel Mousse - chocolate mousse topped with a ganache and chocolate cigar. I was too full to have more than a couple bites but it was very creamy. Mica had the chocolate cigar and said it was very good.
http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww81/jeminni/P1000667.jpg
I know alot of people have given bad reviews of this restaurant but we had an enjoyable time here. The restaurant is very beautiful and watching the fish swim by very relaxing. The personalized menus and divers are being discontinued in 2009. I'm glad we were there before they discontinued it, since it made for a very special meal.

quick update:
one thing I've been saying all along is how Mica had been feeling sick most of the time we were in disney. She started feeling a bit better the last two days we were there. Last sunday night/early monday morning she became ill again. She spent all Monday nauseous. Tuesday she was in bed all day feeling sore and yucky. Wednesday she began having diarrhea. I wanted her to go to the doctors but she thought it was the flu. Friday she was still sick so I insisted she call the doctor. They were all booked up so they told her to go to the ER. I took her there and they ran bloodwork and did a CT scan of her abdomen. They found she had a ruptured appendix and an infection around her ovaries. :( Currently she is in the hospital on IV antibiotics. Please everyone keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you

Oh no!!! I hope your daughter feels better soon. My DS9 had his appendix rupture this past summer and spent a week in the hospital after his surgery, not fun, but he can totally relate. I'm sure she will be feeling better in no time. BTW, I love your reviews can't wait to hear more!!!

Thanks everyone for all your well wishes on here. Unfortunately she is still having quite a few health issues, they did a second scope today and had to put in two drainage tubes, one which might have to be in for a couple months. If everything settles down soon, I will try to post an update, hopefully this weekend.

Thank you. I had to call her college today and put her on a medical leave this semester since I'm not sure how long she will be in the hospital and how long she will need to recuperate. One good thing though, we did get our photopass pictures in the mail today. I'm going to but some frames to put them in and take them down to the hospital tomorrow. :goodvibes

Hi everyone. I wanted to let you all know that Mica came home from the hospital last night. She still has a JP drain in her stomach to pull out the infection and will need to be followed by a visiting nurse for a bit but at least she's home. Once all the infection clears up they will pull the drain then in a few weeks she will have to go back into the hospital for an operation to remove the rest of her appendix. She's really glad to be home and feeling somewhat better. She'll have to be off work for a little bit and follow a low fiber/low residue diet for awhile. We're all glad she's feeling better and is back home. Thanks everybody for the prayers and well wishes. :goodvibes
I should be able to start back on my reviews this weekend.

Backlot express and TSM dessert party
After our lunch at Coral Reef Mica and I decided to split up. I was meeting up with some Dis friends at Epcot and she wanted to go check out DTD for awhile. Since we were going to the dessert party that evening at TSM we made plans to meet up outside of Star Tours @ 7pm. This is one of our favorite rides at Disney. My DS23 is a huge Star Wars fanatic. Growing up he had nearly every Star Wars toy you could imagine plus he collected quite a few of the original ones. We went to every midnight opening of the movies there were, always in costumes. On one of our previous trips he rode Star Tours 33 times in one day. :darth: Since Mica's stomach was still quesy we only rode it twice today then headed over to the Backlot express for dinner.
Backlot express is located between the Indiana Jones attraction and Star Tours. DHS does not have much of a selection for any meal options but since this is close to Star Tours we always end up here. It's a fairly large CS restaurant with both inside and outside seating areas. There are 2 fixing bars with the usual fixings- no cheese sauce or sauteed onions here. Since we would be eating again soon we decided to just split a meal. We ordered the grilled turkey and cheese sandwhich and french fries. Grilled turkey and provolone cheese with argula and roasted red peppers. The french fries were hot and crispy and not greasy at all. This was a nice break from all the cheeseburgers at other CS. It was nice and fresh and the service was fast. For dessert we tried the sugar free strawberry parfait. It was creamy with a pudding like texture. There were strawberries on the bottom and blueberries on top.You really couldnt even tell it was sugar free. All in all a good value for a CS meal.
Cost:1 CS
After eating we walked the streets of America to see the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights. This is absolutely amazing. If you ever get a chance to go to Disney during the Christmas season make sure you go see this. You can read about and see pictures that people have posted but its nothing like really being there to see it. :) We got there around 8pm and spent about 45 mins just trying to see everything and listen to the holiday music. Every so often they would have the lights dance to the music and snow flakes would fall onto the streets. It is truely spectacular.
Mica and I continued waling down the Streets of America towards Pixar street. We were to be there around 8:30 to register for the TSM event. CMs were there to tell people that they were not ready yet and to go to the Studio catering Company for registration. As we walked back down the streets of America I saw someone who looked familiar from these boards. I went over to say hi and ask if she was from the Disboards. It was Circusgirl from here. She was with 2xcitedtosleep, they were going to the TSM meet also. Both of them are super nice people and it was great to be able to talk to them for a couple minutes. :goodvibes
Continuing on we made our way over to the Studio Catering Company. The TSM event sponsors were still setting up so we just hung out and talked to some of the people that were waiting to register. Right before 9 they open the registration area up. This was sponsored by the DiS unplugged and dreams unlimited. After you showed your confirmation email and signed in everyone received a goodie bag. This was a black drawstring travel backpack with all the sponsors names on the back. The front of it said Dis mania meet 2008, www.wdwinfo.com. Inside there was information about the sposors and a beaded necklace that also siad DIS mania meet 2008. Woohoo we havent even got into the meet yet and we already got a prize!! :thumbsup2

This is a great backpack to take to the parks- empty its small enough to fold and carry in a pocket, purse or fanny pack.Expanded its big enough to carry whatever you'd buy in the parks. I used mine the next day to carry back the goodies I bought at the Main Street bakery .
CMs came and lead us down into Pixar Street where we were escorted straight onto TSM. party: This was the first time I had been on this ride. It's great!! After the ride ended the CMs asked if you wanted to ride again. We could ride as often and we wanted without getting off. We rode 3 times in a row then went outside to the dessert party. There were tables and chairs set up down Pixar Street for everyone to sit and enjoy the desserts. Large outdoor patio heaters were placed throughout the seating area to keep everyone warm. There were tables set up on both sides of the street with the desserts. Board games were scattered along the serving tables for decorations and CMs made sure the desserts were replenished frequently. There were large trays of fresh fruit with dip, bite size pastries, a coffee table and a cash bar. The fruit tray was full of large strawberries, blackberries, cantalope, honeydew, kiwi and star fruit. Everything there was fresh and delicious. Living in PA we dont have fresh fruit like that here during the winter. I went back twice for the fruit. There were also 3 trays of pastries: mini cheesecakes, pumpkin tarts, nut tarts and chocolate cake slices. I only tried a nut tart but it was very good. Mica had a piece of the cake and a cheesecake , she said they were both excellent.

The coffee service table was spectacular. ::yes:: There were 3 large urns, one with coffe, one with decaf, one with hot water. Large baskets held different types of tea and hot chocolate and there were bottles of gourmet flavoring syrups. My favorite part though were the garnishes. 4 large containers held real whipped cream, cinnamon sticks, chocolate curls and orange peel. It was a little chilly that night so all this warm goodness was definately appreciated. There was also an ice cream cart set up so that anyone who wished could have ice cream bars. I didnt get anything from the cash bar but it was doing a brisk business. The DIS unplugged team was walking around passing out glow necklaces to everyone and making sure everyone was having a good time. After about an hour Mica started getting sick again. :sad1: I was concerned about getting her back to the resort since the park had already closed. There was to be transportation back to the resorts from the event but I wasnt sure when it would be arriving. I asked some of the workers there and they directed me to Alex (webmaster alex). He went to find John (webmaster john) and they both contacted the disney transportaion to find out out when the buses would be arving to take the guests back to their hotels. They came back to where we were sitting to inform us a bus would be there in about 20-25 mins. They offered to call and pay for a cab to get us back sooner if she felt that bad. She said she would be ok if we just sat there until the bus came. When the buses came the driver took us right to our bus stop at CBR. He even offered to take us closer than the stop so we wouldnt have to walk that far.
This was a beautiful, well put together event. The staff and volunteers worked very hard to ensure that everyone had a great time. Thank you so much webmasters Alex and John for all your help getting my daughter back to our hotel. Even though we didnt get to stay the whole time, I really enjoyed being able to attend.
Cost- nothing
would we do it again- YES!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
One quick update on Mica. She went to the doctor's Thursday. Infection is still coming out of her drainage tube so she needs to go back for another CT scan next week. The plan is still for her to get her appendix removed once all the infection is gone and she heals for a couple weeks. Thank you everyone who has been keeping her in your thoughts and prayers.
