We just returned from a week at OKW and were suprised to find that salt and pepper shakers, placemats, large glasses were no longer provided and dishwasher cleaner was limited. On the plus side was a wall mounted hair dryer. Also missing was a kitchen sponge which was on the inventory list. Just a few minor inconviences to an otherwise wonderful stay. :)

We have never had salt and pepper unless we brought it. Dishwasher soap would have been replenished. All you have to do is ask. I usually go through the check list when we arrive and call housekeeping for any missing items. It saves being surprised while I am cooking! The place mats and napkins were discontinued last fall. They did bring some for me in September when I asked, but there were none to be had in December. We will bring our own from home next time.

Large glasses? Anyone else find this or was it just an oversight in this unit?

when we were there in January the inventory list said (in small print at the bottom) they would furnish placemats & napkins upon request...

We had large glasses 3 weeks ago at OKW. If it's on the inventory list and you don't have it, call housekeeping. They are usually very prompt with their help.
Hygiene items like toilet paper, kleenex and dishwashing detergent are available without charge by calling housekeeping. Bath/face soaps and Tide may be purchased when you run out, but are normally replaced during a full clean on the 4th day.

They stopped supplying the salt and pepper this past year.

I always grab extra seasoning and condiment items in the parks anyway. Also, I bring several spices with me too.

Back to my notes from the OKW annual meeting last year - In the question & answer session a member asked why amenities like salt & pepper & placemats were being cut back. The reply was S&P was a "sanitation issue." The reply was also that placemats & cloth napkins were not at the other DVC properties & they are trying to be consistent with all the properties. In the same reply we were told the dishwashing detergent changed to a "recognized name." We had little packets of it in our unit - I was not familiar with the brand :). Consistency is the reason I was told studios now have hair dryers. I like the hair dryers & their built-in night light
