View Full Version : Latest DTD Rumor--Beer and Wine at DQ

From a source who knows just about everyone who would know--DisneyQuest is about to start selling beer and wine. Haven't heard an exact date.

From my perspective, this seems odd, to say the least. DQ in its current form is very kid-oriented. Maybe WDW got word the long-rumored Orlando Dave & Busters is finally coming and wanted to make a preemptive strike? Curious to see if any other changes are coming.

In any case, so much for the closing of PI leading to a more "family-friendly" DTD.

I imagine sooner or later DQ will be gone anyway

Seems to me it does take away from the environment they have there but I am not too surprised.

Well, the last time (and only time) I went to D&B, there were far more kids there than adults. It is just a Bar & Grill with a door to an arcade.

As someone who partakes, I am not sure that I would order a drink on DQ anyways due to all of the attractions being motion orientated vs. traditional.

My wife already told me she is never going on the virtual roller coaster ride with me again. ;)

Now all they need in DQ is an interactive cabaret show where they pretend it's 1937 and...

Oh, never mind.

Also occured to me--maybe some kind of preliminary action to creating an ESPN Zone? But I would think Reedy Creek can issue liquor licenses pretty easily, and ESPN would be a big enough restuarant it wouldn't need one anyway. It just seems after 15 years of being kid-oriented, a change might be around the corner.

I haven't been to a D&B in close to a decade (since I moved to Touristopia, basically), but I thought it became 21+ mid-evening. Obviously things could have changed dramatically in a decade.

It may depend on the state. This one was in Kansas which has some pretty messed up liquor laws.

I may be unusually cautious, but I would be worried about those open stairways at DQ if anyone had one drink too many!
