Congrats on getting to the 2nd trimester...not having been pregnant, I don't know what that means exactly, other than the fact that usually it means good things.....
You're actually the first person I've heard someone describe the Candlelight Procession in a way that makes me want to see it. Actually, maybe it's the first time I've actually been interested in going so I was interested in what you had to say. Thanks for the good review.

My belly is starting to show, which is exciting.
I have bought a few maternity shirts and a couple pairs of maternity pants and I can't wait to wear them! Maybe in a few more weeks...
DH and I are getting ready to go to on a road trip this weekend. Our friends are getting married in Northern Minnesota, so we'll leave Thursday evening to begin the 10.5 HOUR DRIVE!!! :scared1: It'll be a LOOONNNGGG drive, but I think all the leaves will be changing as we drive north, so it will be a gorgeous drive. We'll be staying in a resort right on Lake Superior and the pics of the resort make it look wonderful. The actual wedding consists of the ceremony at 10:30 Saturday morning followed by a brunch reception. Then there's a bonfire on the beach that's put on by the resort at 7:30 that evening. How cool is that?!
If I get some good pics, I'll share!
We'll have to have a baby 'pooch' picture, of course, as you get into those maternity clothes. :)
10.5 hours is what it takes for us to get to Disney World. It is a long trip, so be sure to get out and walk often. I'm sure you were planning that anyway, but it's just the MeMom in me giving advice. :goodvibes
I'm sure the resort will be beautiful, and it sounds like a fun day overall. I look forward to seeing pictures.
Take care of yourself and our new DIS baby. Have a great rest of the week!

Hurray for feeling more normal now that you are in your second trimester!
Have fun in Minnesota -- that beach bonfire sounds like a lot of fun!
Thank you!
I think the beach bonfire will be fun. We're going to have to dress WARM though! The forecast is a little chilly!
Glad you're enjoying your pregnancy! The second Trimester is the best! Have a wonderful time in MN - that's where my family is from - it should be beautiful this time of year!
Yes, I am love with this second trimester!
I am really looking forward to MN...I didn't know that your family is from there!

You should absolutely see the Candlelight Processional if you ever get the chance. I think you would love it.

Yes, I am going to have to be sure that we make many pit stops on the way to MN. My doctor said once an hour. That might be a little extreme, but it will definitely be more pit stops than we're used to!

When last I left you, we were just leaving the awesome Candlelight Processional. And the glow of the CP had worn off and we were FREEZING again!
WARNING: This update is VERY short on pictures! It was very hard to take pictures with my gloves on, so I didn't take very many at all this evening!
We went off in search of some food and we ended up at my favorite, the Tangierine Cafe. YUM!!! DH and I shared the Schwarma platter with lamb and chicken. It was a teeny bit warmer inside, so we stayed inside and ate our delicious food. :cloud9:
As we ate, we noticed that there were some children digging in the Morocco fountain for money! :scared1: Where were their parents?! :confused3 And the kids were both wearing shorts and t-shirts on such a cold evening. You could not have paid me enough money to dig in that fountain on that cold night! Not that I would ever do that anyways, but you know what I mean. I guess those kids really wanted those pennies!
After the Schwarma platter, DH wanted some good old American apple pie, so we went over to America and got him some apple pie at the restaurant. He said it tasted just like McDonald's apple pie, but that didn't stop him from devouring it! I passed on the apple pie because I had something else on my mind...
School bread! We went to Norway next and met up with my parents and my brother and sister in law. We all got a treat at the bakery. The school bread was delicious as always! Then we jumped in line for Maelstrom, which is still one of my favorites!
After Maelstrom, my parents decided to call it a night and they headed back to Pop. DH decided to head back also as he had an early flight to catch the next morning. There's a long story there, but while we were at Disney World, we were in the middle of preparing for our big move back to Chicago from Phoenix. Well, there was some issue going on with the realtor and changing the house from for sale to for rent and DH was having to deal with it all on the phone. He held it together as long as he could, but then he asked me if I would be okay with him changing his flight to one day earlier so that he could go take care of business at home while he still had one day off work. I pushed my little bit of sadness aside and told DH that it was fine with me and he changed his flight. He had seen everything he wanted to see already and I knew he wasn't going to have much fun anyways, while worrying about house stuff, so it would have been silly to insist that he stay. So off he went to Pop to pack up his things...
That left my brother, SIL, and me to enjoy the rest of the evening in the World Showcase. I just LOVE the World Showcase at night. It's tempting to me to spend every evening in the WS while I'm at WDW!
My bro and SIL watched the movie in Canada
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00664.jpg
Meanwhile, I looked around some of the shops.

I wish that my my house!

A perfume-in-the-shoe tree!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00677.jpg
I saw some popcorn in Canada and almost bought some, but I decided to wait until we were a little bit closer to the time Illuminations would start.
I found a table in France right on the water between the buildings that sell crepes and wine. There was a tree there that seemed like it might block our view, but I waited on my bro and SIL to see what they thought. They came over a few minutes later and said they were happy to have a table, so we stuck with that spot. I ran off to get my popcorn and some drinks and then we prepared to watch Illuminations!
Well, I'm glad we stuck with that table because our view was perfect!!! Do they change Illuminations at Christmas time? It seemed like there was a little bit added to the show for Christmas, but I wasn't sure! Either way, it was wonderful!
After the show, we decided to go check out the Boardwalk. And as we did, we saw that there was a magic show going on on the Boardwalk. It was super cute! The magician had a bunch of different kids come up to help him with his magic tricks and of course the kids were adorable!
Next, we took a bus from the Boardwalk to DTD, then caught a bus back to POP. It was quite a roundabout way to get home, but we got there eventually. I was back to the room by 11:05 and thank Goodness, DH had cranked up the heat in there! I think Mousekeeping turned the heat down each time they cleaned the room, so it was always very cool when we returned in the evenings and took a while to heat up. This evening, because DH returned earlier than I, it was so nice and toasty, which was just what I needed after freezing my buns off all night!
One not so nice thing that happened that night was that DH showed me a cockroach that he had found in the bathroom. :scared1: And like the man that he is, he used the bathmat to smash it rather than a kleenex! And he didn't dispose of it yet because he wanted to show me. So, you, my lucky readers, get to see our friend the cockroach!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00681.jpg
This was our last night together in Disney World. :sad2: But I still had one full day and one more night there, so I tried to just think positive and enjoy my remaining time!
Next up: Our last full day...

A little baby update!
I have entered the second trimester of my pregnancy and I have to tell you that I LOVE IT!!! :lovestruc
Wooohoooo, the second trimester is GREAT! The worries start to subside and you can relax and enjoy the miracle happening!

Sounds like a wonderful weekend! I wouldn't worry about the drive much - when you feel like you need to stop and stretch, go for it! We went to France and England when I was about 20 weeks pregnant with Mickey - 10+ hour plane ride each way, no problem :thumbsup2
WARNING: This update is VERY short on pictures! It was very hard to take pictures with my gloves on, so I didn't take very many at all this evening!

I know. The cockroach was gross. Fortunately, I'm not easily bothered by bugs. Now if there were a bird or squirrel in the room, I would have wanted to switch resorts!!!
Yeah, I was shocked at how cold it was at WDW. But cold in Disney World is better than warm anywhere else!

Hello my friends!
We had a doctor appointment today and we were able to hear the baby's heartbeat on the doppler! :goodvibes It was exciting, reassuring, and heartwarming. And it made me cry a little bit!
I'm 15 weeks pregnant right now, which is hard to believe!
In 4 weeks, we'll have the big ultrasound where they will tell us the baby's gender if we so desire. So far, we are undecided as to whether or not we will find out. I don't want to find out, but DH does. So we have 4 weeks to decide...
We had a wonderful time at the wedding in Minnesota last weekend (pics of gorgeous fall colors coming up) and we have had a non-stop action packed schedule ever since! We'll finally have time to breathe this weekend and I'll post pics and and update then!

It is a very sweet thing to hear your baby's heartbeat. Back in my baby days, people didn't have ultrasounds unless there were problems, so I didn't know what mine were until they got here. I was thrilled to know what Jill's babies were, because it was so much fun to shop for little girl things. It just added to the excitement! Whichever way you decide, we'll be excited with you guys all the way. :)

Julie, here's my experience with finding out the gender (not an easy feat here anyway, most u/s places are not allowed to tell you by law):
With Tigger, we found out the gender (only because the u/s tech slipped up lol)
With Mickey, we did not find out the gender (they wouldn't tell us)
I MUCH preferred knowing the gender beforehand. I don't think Grumpy cared one way or the other, but I always spoke to my boys by name in utero ("stop kicking the crap out of me, Tigger" LOL).
What about them writing the gender on a piece of paper and putting it in an envelope? That way, you can decide at your own time whether or not you want to know :confused3

So here I am, in profile!

And a measurement...
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC01994.jpg
A little more than 38 inches. Seems like a lot!!!
I have read in my many pregnancy books that I should feel the baby move in the coming weeks. I can't wait for that moment!
We are now 2 days and 2 weeks from the big ultrasound. Our plan is to bring an envelope and have the ultrasound tech write it down on a piece of paper and stick it in the envelope. DH will then look at the paper when he goes back to work after the appointment. And I will remain unaware of the gender. Until my curiosity gets the better of me, that is!

I think that with our second child (if we're lucky enough to have a second, that is) we'll definitely find out the gender.
My mom has mentioned that it makes for earlier bonding if you know the gender. So that makes it somewhat tempting for me.

Haha!!! Our OB/GYN said the same thing about DH keeping it a secret! When we told him that DH is going to find out and I'm not, he said "Yeah, that's gonna work." And then he rolled his eyes.
I think that DH will absolutely TORTURE me with the knowledge of the gender. As for whether he will let it slip for real...I have no idea!
I do think it would be easier to prepare the baby's room if we knew the gender. However, I would like to be able to reuse all the baby stuff that we buy in the case of our (hopefully) second child being the other gender!

I was running late for church this morning and I didn't do my hair or makeup or put my contacts in. And I stayed like that for the rest of the day. So I wasn't up for the full face shot this time. Didn't want to scare anyone! Maybe next week!
I hope to wait until at least after my baby shower. I don't even want to be tempted to register for gender specific items! I want to be able to reuse as many things as possible in the event that our second child is the other gender.

I woke up early on our last full Disney day with a heavy heart. DH was leaving early this morning. And all the emotions that accompany the end of a trip were starting to come to the surface. The trip that had occupied my thoughts for an entire year was almost over. :sad2:
And THIS did not help!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00684.jpg
I finally decided to write some postcards. Some of your children were the recipients of these!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00687.jpg
I enjoyed a cinnamon roll as I wrote the postcards. Yum!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00688.jpg
The Magic Kingdom was our destination this morning. We didn't do rope drop this morning, so everyone made it to the bus stop on time!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00691.jpg
The Monsters Inc Laugh Floor was our first stop. My brother and SIL hadn't seen it yet, and I was happy to see it again!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00693.jpg
Next up was Carousel of Progress.
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00703.jpg
This was my first time for this attraction and I fell in love with it! I was enthralled throughout the whole thing!
Then we hit up Tomorrowland Transit Authority. Always a nice break from walking!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00701.jpg
I just like this pic!

Now that's a dress!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00723.jpg
After some wandering around and soaking up the Disney magic, everyone was starting to get hungry.
My brother got one of those enormous turkey legs. Personally, I think those turkey legs are revolting, so I tried not to watch him eat it. I did, however, take a picture. Please, avert your eyes if you also find it revolting!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00734.jpg
The rest of us enjoyed a less barbaric lunch of Columbia Harbour House.
Then, we passed an ice cream cart and I could not walk past without getting one more Mickey ice cream bar. Oh, how I would love one of those right now...

I have NO IDEA when we'll go to Disney next. I think it's going to be VERY hard to convince DH to go to Disney World with a very little one. I'm thinking age 2 is the youngest he'll agree to. But that seems like it's forever away! Maybe I'll just have to convince my mom that we need to go on a 3 generation trip!
Toby sounds like he's quite the traveler already. That's awesome!

Julie-- I can guarantee you that Caleb would not be going to Disney at this young age if my parents weren;t taking the whole family! no way would DH pay to go to Disney when he was this small. I am thrilled (obviously) that my mom decided she wanted to take the grandkids now because I know the earliest I could have convinced DH was 3 yrs old and by then we probably would have had another one and it would have been longer yet!!

Bella is a very lucky girl! And Jill is a very lucky woman to have a husband who is supportive of all of the Disney trips. My DH, on the other hand, not so much!
We do have a lot of trips on the horizon, but none to Disney World, unfortunately.
We're planning to go to Charleston, SC for Christmas (DH's grandparents live there and my father in law and sister in law will be there as well). Then, as soon as we feel comfortable flying with the baby, we'll go out to AZ to visit DHs other grandparents, show off the little one to all of our friends, and to check on our rental property there. And then at the end of next summer, we're planning to go on a family trip to Scandinavia! DH's mom wants to take us and DH's brother and sister on a big trip and that is her destination of choice. So, if all goes well, we'll see the real, non-Epcot Norway next summer!

Caleb will be 16 months old when we go in Feb (you were right!!)
i am wanting to wait until after next June to start trying again. I turn 30 in June and I am thinking that I either need to have a drink or not get out of bed at all. My college roommate and I have been wanting to get together to go to Jamaica or the domincian for an all inclusive trip for some time...so I am thinking next June is a good time and we can celebrate our 30th birthdays since hers is in July...
Plus I have my hands full with a one year old!! LOL!! He really is a good baby...plays real well by himself...will eat about anything except for ketchup...he does not like ketchup! lol! this year has really flown by so fast!! Enjoy your pregnancy...it all goes to fast and before you know it you will have a little boy or girl!!

We had an ultrasound today! :yay: I'm 19 weeks and 2 days along, so this is considered our 20 week ultrasound.
Here is our little one!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/baby/19weekus-1.jpg
(I just realized how little that picture is! I'm going to have to ask DH to help me make it bigger!)
I broke down and decided that I needed to know the gender, so we found out that we are having a little princess:!
I am keeping this information a secret from all of my real life friends and family (except for the grandmothers) until my baby shower or until I slip, whichever comes first. So if you are my facebook friend or if you are following my blog, please don't mention that the baby is a girl!
We did find out today that the placenta is low in the uterus. This means that it may develop into placenta previa. If so, I will definitely have to have a c-section and there are several potential complications. We will have another ultrasound in 8 weeks to determine if it is placenta previa. I read that only 10% of placentas that are determined to be low at this point in the pregnancy become placenta previa. So please say some prayers for us that it is not placenta previa!
The baby was kicking her little legs all over the place and moving her hands all about during the ultrasound. It was crazy to see how much movement is really going on in there!
I can not wait to meet my little baby girl! :goodvibes

I can not wait for my little princess to arrive! I've already had fun shopping for her. I went to the Disney store, but I wasn't in love with the infant stuff they had, so I'll have to keep checking...

Awww, heck! I've got tears welling up in my eyes. Our little Swans is having a baby girl! :lovestruc It's going to be soooo much fun to shop for her. :)
Prayers for only good things to happen throughout the entire pregnancy. It's great to know there are capable doctors who can handle nearly every problem before it arises or meet it head on if it does. :thumbsup2
We're getting another DIS baby!
Thanks MeMom!
I do love to shop, so shopping for my little girl will make shopping even more fun!
I do have a great doctor and that makes the placenta stuff a little easier to deal with. I feel confident that if it does become placenta previa, he will keep the baby and me safe until it's time for her to come.

we found out that we are having a little princess:!
CONGRATS!!! She's so cute!! :goodvibes
How exciting to find out about your princess :goodvibes. I'm not far behind you....I have my ultrasound on the day before Thanksgiving. Right before I head to Disney!! :woohoo: Oh my, I'm sure I won't find anything I want to buy $$$$ I'm just so anxious to find out the sex of the baby and that everything looks ok!!
Hopefully you won't have problems with the placenta previa. I have a friend that with both of her pregnancies they were watching it but by the time everything stretched out and she was ready to deliver the placenta had moved. But hey....at least you get to have another ultrasound!! :thumbsup2

Congratulations Julie!! princess: You must be so excited! :goodvibes
I too have heard a lot of stories about people who were at risk for placenta previa and over time it resolved itself. It's something to keep an eye on, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Oh, that's going to be so much fun to find out your baby's gender right before your Disney trip! You will definitely find more than enough things you'll want to buy. You'll have to exhibit some super-human self-control!
I keep hearing that about the placenta previa and I'm hoping that mine turns out the same!
Congratulations Julie!! princess: You must be so excited! :goodvibes

Thanks Amy!
I have heard many encouraging things about the placenta previa, so I am very hopeful!

When last I left you, it was our last full day at Disney World. We had spent the morning in the Magic Kingdom.
We planned to see Fantasmic that night, and the rest of the gang decided to go back to Pop to rest up before the evening of fun.
Because it was our last full day, I absolutely could not bring myself to go back to the hotel.
So I decided to check out Epcot one more time.
Hello Epcot!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00756.jpg
I wandered over to World Showcase and watched the candy lady for a bit
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00769.jpg
See the lady wearing earmuffs? And the bundled up kid next to her? It was COLD that day!!!
I found this written on the wall in the American Adventure and I loved it!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00775.jpg
Soon it was time to head for the boat to DHS. I went through the International Gateway and saw all of these banners that said "Merry Christmas" in a bunch of different languages. Loved that!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00776.jpg
I waited a little while for a boat over by the Yacht Club (I think).
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00778.jpg
And soon I arrived at DHS.
I was hungry at this point and wondered why I hadn't gotten any food at Epcot?! :confused3
Oh well! I remembered that my cousin had gotten some Curried Chicken at the ABC Commissary the year before and I was jealous because it looked and smelled delicious. So I was off the the Commissary. I got the Curried Chicken to go and then made my way over to Fantasmic to meet up with my family.
Let me tell you, that Curried Chicken hit the spot on that cold night! The benches at Fantasmic were freezing my buns off and if I hadn't had the warm Curried Chicken, I would have been miserable!
Anyways, on with the show!
THIS warmed us up!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00787.jpg
I love this part!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00789.jpg
I didn't take many pictures at Fantasmic because that necessitated taking my mittens off. And I wasn't willing to do that too many times!
Next, we made the decision that I regret to this day. We decided not to go see the Osborne Lights and we went over to Downtown Disney. Who does that?! :confused3 I think the cold weather got the best of us and we just wanted to be in the warmth of the stores at Downtown Disney. So we left DHS and went over to DTD. I keep telling myself that it just means I'll have to go back again at Christmas time so I can see the Osborne lights!
I can't wait to go into this store with my baby girl!
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00798.jpg
We happened upon the Ghiradelli store and I decided to check if they sold hot chocolate.
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00799.jpg
And they did! Jackpot! It was DELICIOUS!!! I could go for some of that right now.
Soon, it was time to head back to Pop for my last night on Disney property. :sad2:
I went back to the room and packed up my stuff. Look at those sad suitcases.
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00801.jpg
I went to sleep and slept HARD until my alarm rang in the morning.
I got myself ready and brought my luggage down to check it in before I headed to DHS.
Waiting for my last Pop elevator ride.
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00803.jpg
Good-bye enormous Christmas tree.
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/DSC00805.jpg
My parents and I then met up and headed over to DHS for our last morning of Disney fun.
Next up: The End (FINALLY!)

Brrrr -- I am cold just looking at your photos of people bundled up and reading your descriptions! I can't really blame you for opting for the warmth of DtD shops and Ghiradelli hot chocolate over the Osborne lights -- there will be a next time, I am sure!

We shall be feasting our eyes upon this in about seven more weeks. :)
I can picture you trying to keep up with your little girl at Once Upon a Toy as she darts back and forth from princess dresses to the My Little Pony station and stuffed animals and Potato Heads and everything else. Disney World is about to get a lot more fun, and possibly a little more exhausting, for you. :goodvibes

Wow - I didn't realize it got that cold in November! Brrrr... Sorry about the Osborne lights, but I can understand why you would make that decision. You WILL have to go back to see them another time. ;)

Congrats on finding out that you are having a baby girl! You are going to have so much fun dressing her up in the Disney Princess dresses! I am also sending you some thoughts and prayers about not developing Placenta Previa.
Great update although sad that it was your final update. Thanks for sharing the trip with us.

Seeing the bags packed at the end is the worse part of the trip. I have enjoyed your report.
I just find out today we are having another princess, too:). I begged my doc to let me in a week early so we could find out before we went to Disney. I guess I can say it saved me a bunch of $$$ because I saw so many cute baby girl stuff when I was there last week. I didn't give it a lot of thought because I had a strong feeling it was a boy.
I am having another ultrasound in 4 weeks because they couldn't get a good view of the face profile or the right side of the heart. They assured me it is most likely OK, but they won't deem a certain organ "normal" or "abnormal" until they get a good shot. Our princess was looking straight at us - it was so funny. I will think of it as a bonus ultrasound to calm my nerves.
VandyFan - how great you will find out right before Disney. What is your due date? Mine is March 30th.
