Hey Julie - all caught up here! Congrats on your quest for fitness - how are you doing? I need to start one also - just getting back from Disney and eating soooo much. In fact, I just ate my rice krispie chocolate dipped mickey head that I brought home yesterday.

Woo Hoo on the change bucket too!

You mean one of these?

I think it says AK because the pop is in the Animal Kingdom area, when we stayed at Wilderness our tags had MK.

Hurray for ME tags!!! Now you don't have to worry and wonder anymore when they will arrive!

Yay!!!!

I wasn't even expecting anything yesterday and DH walked in and said "you got something from "miracle express." Miracle, magical, Whatever! Hand it over!!! I was so excited.

Yay for ME tags!!! I've never been able to figure out why they say AK either. I forget what it said when I stayed at CBR last year. But Pop century has always said AK. :confused3

It's a mystery...

That one would make the Disney magic last a LOOOONNNNGGGG time! :rotfl:

You're so smart!!!! Thank you for shedding some light on that situation!

I thought for sure they got things confused because we stayed at AKL last time.

Thanks for clearing that up! :thumbsup2

How do my dogs know which shoes are my Disney shoes?

The ONLY shoes my dogs have chewed up over the past year have been shoes bought specifically for Disney World. After my trip last year, my lab chewed up the crocs I wore EVERY day of the trip. Then I bought new crocs. Tie dyed Mary Jane crocs to be exact. Those were chewed up last week by the other dog. Two pairs of my Teva Mush flip flops have also been chewed up. Crocs and Teva Mush flip flops are the ONLY shoes I plan to wear at Disney World. Now I have none of the above!

I don't know what to do about this! I have already spent kind of a lot of money replacing dog-chewed shoes. I don't know if I can justify another purchase. Well, I know I can, but DH won't be too happy with me. I guess I should just choose one or the other, but which do I choose? :confused3

Grrrr, about the dogs chewing up the shoes -- we have to make sure that we hide our shoes or they are toast! Our dogs also like action figures, leaves, and carpet. :headache:

You can walk around theme parks with flip flops! My feet would just die!

We normally hide our shoes too. I don't know what I was thinking?! :confused3

Your dogs like carpet? oh no! They have expensive taste. With our dogs, it's shoes and pens.

Those are the only flip flops I can wear for that long. But the crocs are definitely better for all day long. So I guess I should go with the crocs.

Oh, geez! I'm sorry to hear about the untimely dispatching of your shoes! I had a puppy once (well, we still have her, but she's at my Nana's) and she loved to shred kleenex. And toilet paper.

You get the idea.

If we even left for a second and the bathroom door was open, we'd find a white paper trail all over. It was kind of cute, but annoying to clean up. :lmao:

Congrats on the ME tags! It's getting so CLOSE!!! :goodvibes

He's so cute! One of my cats does the same thing to toilet paper and paper towels when she's angry. My other cat just likes to eat tp and usually only pulls off a square at a time. :confused3

Sorry to hear about your shoes. I think you should get both, though. It sounds like you definitely use them, so you'll probably get your money's worth. Look at this pretty pair!

New shoes, or new dog? :rotfl2: Okay, sorry - not funny. I'm sorry about your shoes. Have you ever tried that green apple spray? You spray everything that isn't his, and then when he tastes it - YUK! He learns to leave things alone. At least that's what worked for our dog.

Last week, I went to the Disney Store to get some Disney Dollars for my SIL for her birthday (which is next week). She and my bro are going on the Disney trip with us.

Well, that got me thinking about our change bucket...

I have decided that the change in the change bucket will be converted to Disney Dollars the week before the trip. So far, there is a total of about 80 dollars in that bucket. I think I'm going to add some dollars to the bucket now as we get closer to the trip. The more Disney Dollars, the better!!!

That's what we always do. I do a little ebaying on the side and everything we make goes into our Disney fund. It adds up so quickly! Subscribing! Looks like we'll just miss you down there.

I had a strict ban on video games in our house. Until the Wii Fit came out. Then I crumbled. I really wanted the Wii Fit, so we bought the whole system.

Well, it turned out that DH really wanted to try playing Madden. Soooo...I bought it for him for our anniversary and I CREATED A MONSTER!!!!!!!!!

Ahhh I know the feeling, I bought BF Call of Duty 4 for his last bday...let me tell you hes crazy if he thinks he's ever getting a video game from me again. And you cant just play Call of Duty or Halo or Madden by yourself quietly...you have to play online and SCREAM into the headset at the other players and curse and make fun of them and blast the tv so loud that the neighbors can hear it. Thats why I put the time limits on how long he'll play for  He'll generally listen...and I use the word generally loosely

Call of Duty is the one my DH wants.

I have to ban that from our house. We don't need anymore cursing or yelling going on!

I received more Disney mail yesterday!!!

Included in the nice, big envelope was all of our Magic Your Way package stuff.

This includes the Sea Raycer coupon where you get 90 minutes for the price of 60.

It also includes the 15 dollar food voucher for Planet Hollywood along with a voucher for a souvenir or something from Planet Hollywood.

And now, the only piece of the package that we we actually use:

The luggage tags!

http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/julieswanster/74848c3a.jpg

I tried to capture the glitter in the sunlight. Can you see the glitter? :rotfl:

I am so excited to have these on our suitcases! Funny how I can get so excited over some little luggage tags...

For about 10 seconds, I thought about doing the Sea Raycer thing since the aim of this trip is to convert DH from a Disney hater to a Disney liker. And the Sea Raycer thing is right up his alley. However, that would take too much time away from my carefully thought out schedule. So DH will never know about the Sea Raycer thing. Shhhhh....

Maybe you could hold onto it and see how things are going. If you see him fading away from the Disney love, you could play the Sea Raycer card and surprise him. If he's having fun on his own, then I'd keep quiet about it too, since there's already enough to pack into a trip.

snowbell said she will probably send her husband on back to the resort for an afternoon rest while she meets up with us at Epcot on that Saturday. I think you're the one who has an ADR for that day, so we'll work around your schedule, most likely. We'll see what time she was planning on taking a break, and hopefully it'll be after your lunch and before your dinner. As far as I know, we'll be in Epcot all day without leaving, unless Jill feels like she needs to rest. She said she was fine on this trip, except for the heat. She said if it's a few degrees cooler, she should be fine for staying all day and just having breaks in the park, which is no problem. Of course John is more of a whiner about a nap than Brooklynn is, but even if he goes back, we don't have to have the guys. They'll probably just roll their eyes at us anyway!

About the sea raycer, I am going to take your advice and bring the voucher with us. Good thinking, MeMom!

And about Epcot, we have no ADRs that day, so we're good to meet whenever. It would be good if it was after general lunch time though because we want to try to do a lot of stuff in Future World in the morning. Then have lunch, then meet up with you!

Sounds good!

I'm headed out to the store to get more things we need for the trunk-or-treat thing tonight. I just took the last tray of cookies out of the oven, so while they're cooling, I'll run my errands and come back to pack them up. Jill, John, and Brooklynn met John's family to go to the zoo and go out to eat for John's brother's birthday. They're meeting me at church this evening. It's a beautiful day here in Middle Tennessee - perfect for the zoo and outdoor activities.

Have a good rest of the day out there in Arizona!

Maybe you should spend some time knitting yourself some good warm sweaters for that cold land you are heading to soon!

I went out with a bunch of my girlfriends last night. We had dinner and drinks outside. I had to have a jacket on toward the end of the evening. Then, as we walked to our cars, I began to run because it was so cold. I looked at the thermometer in my car and it was 71 degrees. I am in T-R-O-U-B-L-E. That's like summer in Chicago!!!!

We're back from WDW :sad2: Your trip is getting so close now - only one month to go!

While I sit here munching on my Goofy's Kitchen custom-coated rice crispie treat (yep, it's decadent lol), missing the palm trees, wishing it was warm enough to wear a tank top and shorts again, I have some good news for you! My Disney-despising husband is now a Disney-tolerating husband! :cool1: I think it was the evening that my MIL babysat our boys so that he & I could "eat around the world" at Epcot was the deciding swing factor. It's a lot easier to appreciate WDW when you can go at a leisurely pace (which we really couldn't do with our boys kwim?). I consciously made a few decisions about stuff to do that I knew he would enjoy - it paid off! We all had a wonderful time :goodvibes

His mindset went from "why do we have to go THERE for vacation?" to "yes, we can come back here - in four years (this was in response to my 9yo ds asking when we could go back) to "we could drive down to Disneyland next year" (this was said to me, much to my amazement!).

If renting a SeaRaycer is what would swing your dh to the positive side of WDW, then I say do it. Even if it messes with your plans, if it makes him a pro-Disney dude, then it's worth it. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2

I'm sorry that your trip is over! But welcome back! And I'm so happy to hear that you, and more importantly, your husband, had a great time! It gives me hope for my DH!

Are you doing a TR? ::yes::

About the Sea Raycer, you're right. I'm going to mention it to DH when we get a little closer to the trip and see what he says. I would probably have to make a reservation for that, huh?

I think 4 years is about our timeline too for our next trip to WDW. :sad2:

Yah for one month! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Oh, and my mom has the automatic starter on her car, and loves it in the winter. ;)

:yay:

Automatic start is sounding better and better!

Automatic start is the best invention to come to the Northeast in ages. It is the best when its snowing out to go into a nice warm car and not freeze when your hands touch the steering wheel! :rotfl:

Oh, I forgot about freezing hands on the steering wheel! Yuck!

I heard from several friends today that it snowed in Chicago today! Not good! And we're going there this weekend! :scared1:

Yay For One Month!!

Thank you, it really was super fun! If MY uber-stubborn husband can be swayed over to the Disney side, then your husband can, for sure!!!! :woohoo: I can't do a TR here, there'd be repercussions ;) I dunno if you have to reserve a Sea Raycer, but it's definitely worth researching a bit. Seriously, if you think that a Sea Raycer experience there will bring him over to the pro-Disney side, then it's worth whatever hassle it entails :thumbsup2 Yes, he said 4 years for WDW and perhaps next year for Disneyland; HOWEVER, I got a little email from Disney Destinations this morning (my first ever!) with a 40% pin code for various dates next year  So, who knows...

Oh my goodness!

DH and I had a whirlwind weekend in Chicago this weekend. We flew back for our Godson's Christening. We were only there from Friday night till Sunday evening, so we jammed a lot of visiting into a very short time!

We boarded our dogs for the first time ever because our friends who usually watch them were out of town. We chose a very nice kennel/dog hotel/whatever and I think the dogs really liked it. They must have played constantly because they're totally wiped out today!

I have to catch up on everything here on the DIS, but right now, I'm so tired!

For now, I will leave you with proof that I just have a gift with children!

Well, I just realized that we're going to Disney World THIS MONTH!!!!

I am SO excited that the trip is approaching. I need to make a to-do list for the next three weeks to make sure I get everything done for the trip.

We're also working on a major to-do list for everything we need to do before we move. That list is LONG! I think DH is starting to feel the pressure and stress of the impending move. Also, I have a ton of stuff to do to wrap everything up at work before we move. I finally told my boss last week that we're moving. It was a difficult thing to do, but she was awesome about it, so she made it easy on me! I want to make sure that I don't let the house and work stuff completely overshadow my Disney preparations! I still have tons of stuff I need to print out from tour guide mike since we don't want to pay for internet when we're at WDW. (Well, we'll see if DH can last that long without internet!) I still need to figure out my shoe situation too! And of course, I need to figure out which hair products I'm going to try this time. My hair does very well in Arizona's super dry climate. HOWEVER, in Florida's humidity, my hair gets CRRRRAZY!!! So every time I go to WDW, I buy some new hair products that promise to lock out the humidity. Do they ever work? Heck no! But I'm gonna keep trying!

So please send some pixie dust our way so that we can get through the next 3 weeks with minimal stress and maximal efficiency!

Wow - you must be SO busy! It's always tough leaving a job when you actually like it. I'm glad your boss was cool about it.

Just a little hair tip since I live in Florida - I discovered Frederick Fekkai's glossing cream this summer and it works great! My hair gets crazy with the FL humidity, but I feel like using this gives me an instant good hair day. If humidity is high, I do have to reapply in the afternoon. But they sell a handy little travel size you can keep in your bag. Don't use too much though (a pea-size amount works fine), or your hair will look oily.

I'm having a hard time choosing a bag for our trip.

I have 2 candidates in the running.

This is my Overland Donner bag
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_oWtL9Aw1CAw/SRCTbG_L1iI/AAAAAAAAAP4/OxJWFCNc9Sg/s576/PB040007.JPG

This bag has been on one Disney trip with me and many other trips. I love this bag for many reasons.

It has lots of pockets for keeping everything organized
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_oWtL9Aw1CAw/SRCTc2lThlI/AAAAAAAAAQI/Ym7DjKGA9jI/s576/PB040009.JPG

It has 2 water bottle holder pockets, one on each side
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_oWtL9Aw1CAw/SRCTeMHom-I/AAAAAAAAAQQ/87_P7zaJHC0/s576/PB040010.JPG

The thing I do not love about this bag is that it irritates my neck quite a bit. I wear it across my body and the part where the trap hits my neck gets rubbed raw by the end of the day. Ouch!

So one day when I was shopping, I saw this bag at Marshall's. It was pretty cheap and I had seen talk of it on the DIS, so I bought it. It's a baggalini, not sure what model it is.

http://lh5.ggpht.com/_oWtL9Aw1CAw/SRCTaU4zQRI/AAAAAAAAAPw/pX6C43oYAXM/s576/PB040005.JPG

Roxy is modeling the bag for you! We have gotten into the bad habit of allowing to dogs to sleep on one of the guest beds during the day. We have several guests coming to visit in the next month. I guess it's a good thing it's a washable duvet cover!

Here's the inside of the baggalini
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_oWtL9Aw1CAw/SRCTZ2XKscI/AAAAAAAAAPo/lNKPrin8sFM/s576/PB040004.JPG

This strap is very versatile. It can be converted to a backpack or worn over one shoulder. I like the backpack option.

http://lh6.ggpht.com/_oWtL9Aw1CAw/SRCTY8S6zqI/AAAAAAAAAPg/d8ctrGnXdQ8/s576/PB040003.JPG

The only problem I see with the baggalini is the lack of a water bottle holder pocket. I like to carry a bottle with me everywhere so I can just refill it in a water fountain and not pay for a bottle of water.

I guess I can always bring both bags with me and try the baggalini out. If it doesn't work, I can just switch back to the overland. But I wanted to try to pack very lightly this time!

What do YOU think? :confused3

Decisions, decisions...:confused3

Speaking of decisions, did everyone vote today? I did. And the line was SO short when I got there. So nice. However, as I was leaving, the line was huge! I felt bad for the people who were waiting!

That Overland Donner (is that how you spell it) bag looks really nice. Where can you find those? I like all the compartments, and the water bottle holder. Typically when I travel with DS, I need a backpack for all his stuff, but now that he's potty trained, I travel a bit lighter, you know?

I also LOVE pink. I have ever since I was born! I think that since I was the youngest child of 5 in my family and the only girl, I didn't have a choice but to love pink!

I do like crocs. They are so comfortable for walking around all day. But I hate the way they look. And my dogs have chewed up all the crocs that i own (except the Alice crocs, which aren't comfortable anyways!) My mom had an extra pair of mary jane crocs in my size which she doesn't want. So she said i can have them. But I forgot them at my parents' house this weekend! My mom said she'd bring them with her to Disney World, though, so I'm safe.

The issue with the crocs, though, is that I don't think the mary janes are as comfortable as the caymans. So I have to decide if I'm going to buy another pair before the trip. Other than crocs, I will bring running shoes and flip flops. Truthfully, though, crocs are the only footwear that I can wear all day at WDW and not have issues.

No baby on the horizon for me yet, either. Hopefully that changes for both of us soon!

I got my Overland Donner bag at REI. It's an awesome travel bag, but like I said, when it's loaded up with heavy stuff like water bottles, it can be rough on the neck! I actually use the Donner bag a lot of the time when I'm not traveling too.

As for the bag, I think the bagalinni, because you can change the straps. I notice the same strap day after day starts to make my neck and shoulders hurt. I have a little no name bag my mom gave me for baseball games that worked well the last time - but it did have the water bottle holder.

My DH makes fun of the crocs all the time too. I think he's gotten used to them a little bit, but he may have been secretly happy when the dogs ate mine!

I had a bad dream last night. A very bad dream. This is how it went... we arrived at Disney World on time and checked into our hotel. We never actually made it to any parks the first day because they closed before everyone was ready. I was mad, but I thought it was no big deal because we had 6 more days. WELL...the second day, no one was ever ready to go until the parks had all closed. When we finally got to Epcot at 9 p.m., everyone was leaving. :scared1: Can you tell I'm nervous about my family ruining my schedule?!? I need to relax! You know the trip is getting close when I'm having dreams like that! :rotfl:

What I learned the hard way this past trip, split up if you need to. I was very upset by day 3 with our friend and finally said we are going here, if you are too great, if not here is when our ADR is make sure to be there.

Uh oh...sounds frustrating. I hope to read about it in your TR soon...

That is exactly the kind of thing I am worried about. I have already discussed with everyone that we may be splitting up and they said they're okay with it. We'll see how that goes when we're actually there!

That is why we are excited to go with just the 4 of us this time. We love having everyone with us, but it gets too crazy trying to do what everyone wants to do. Even when it's the 4 of us, we still split up.

I'm sure it will all work out.

Aw, hon, I know how you feel! When we go with family, usually they stick to us like glue! And sometimes we're waiting for certain people :rolleyes1

I take it with a grain of salt.

And I always plan one ADR that I know for a fact everyone won't want to do. I know it's evil ;) , but it forces us to split up for at least one evening! :thumbsup2

I usually end up going on rides/attractions that I do not really like (like it's a small world, figment, sounds dangerous for example) because someone in the group wants to do it. I have promised myself that this time, I will only go in/on the things I want. We'll just have to split up. I figure that by taking out all the stuff I don't really want to do, I'll have more time to just slow down and enjoy things!

When DH and I went just the two of us (before we were married), it was awesome. We could walk as fast as we want and stay out from 7 a.m. till 1 a.m. and do it again the next day! I'm happy that a lot of my family is going, but I'm a little jealous of your situation at the same time.

I made an appointment today to get my hair colored and cut tomorrow. I love new hair cuts and color.

I usually get fresh color before any big trip we take because I know there will be lots of pics. So tomorrow is the day.

I can't decide if I'm going to stick with my current color or do something different. I've been looking at hair pics all night!

Whatever I decide, you'll be seeing TONS of pics of it in just a few weeks!

Hopefully, you can get your point over to your group without hurting feelings. Going separate ways will help all of you have a better time. It's a given with us that we will be doing some big meals together, some rides together, and some time to go out and do our own things - thrill rides, swimming, napping, shopping, picture-taking, etc.

Be sure and fill us in on the newest hair color and style, so that we'll know who we're looking for on that Saturday. I think Jill will have Mickey heads on the stroller, and you'll surely recognize Brooklynn's little blonde head, so you'll probably spy us before we see you. We need to figure out a spot to meet, too. I was thinking maybe over by the red phone booths, but I don't think there are benches there. The little out of the way street in UK that goes all the way around back that no on is ever in - I think there is a bench or two back there. We'll refine it when we get there. After one of us gets there and figures out the best sitting spot, we can call the other's cell.

So I made a hair appointment at a local Tony and Guy Academy. Several people I know have gone there and their hair turned out great. In an effort to save some money, I decided to take risk and try it.

For 35 dollars for cut and color, I figured if it's really bad, it wouldn't be a big deal to go get it fixed. And if it's good, that's great!

WELL...I arrived at the salon/school yesterday and checked in. As I waited for my student stylist to come get me, I observed the goings-on. About 75% of the student stylists had blue or green or fire engine red or pink in at least part of their hair. Fortunately, my student stylist had pretty normal looking hair in a very cute style. So I sat down and had my consultation. Then, as she was applying the color to my hair, I learned that I was her FIRST LIVE CLIENT ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was her first day, first hour, first minute "on the floor". I had a mini internal panic attack and then sucked it up.

All in all, the cut and color took 2 hours and 20 minutes. I felt like I was there forever. The color is pretty good. It's a little more red than I would have liked, but I'm getting used to it. As for the cut, I am having a hard time getting used to it. Hence the lack of hair pictures. I need to figure out how to style it properly first!

It was funny because after my hair appointment, I met DH and some friends of ours for lunch. DH was the first one there and he told me my hair looked a little punk rock. I think it was the way the girl styled it. I took care of that as soon as I got home!

So I will post hair pics, but not until after I figure this cut out!

Is it possible to buy a gift card at the Disney Store for use at Disney World?

I'm thinking that a gift card may be the way to go rather than Disney Dollars if I'm able to do it that way.

I was able to sell our patio table and chairs on Craigs List today, so I added a bunch more money to our Disney food fund!

DH and I were talking this morning about food at Disney. I still have not even tried to make additional ADRs for just him and me. At this point, it may be too late. I just can't decide where to try to make ADRs!!!

Don't worry if you can't get ADRs. You can just ask the concierge what they have, and they'll probably be able to find you something that day.

As for our favorite, I would say it would be a tie between Ohana and Hollywood Brown Derby - both quite different, but our favorite experiences so far!

That's great that you were able to sell some of your stuff. Making money for Disney and weeding out things that you won't have to transport is a good combination.

Your hair looks good. I'm still picturing you as blonde in my mind, though. I have two weeks to get used to the brown/red before we see you in person. Well, two weeks until we leave, anyway. A little more than that until we meet. But, to be honest, once we arrive, I'm not going to spend much time thinking about your hair color. :) We'll be happy to see you in whatever color you are by the time we meet on Saturday.

As much as we love the Disney dollars, because they are fun, the cards are so much easier to deal with.

I agree...the card seems like it will be much easier. I feel like the Disney dollars might be a pain in a large quantity.

We still have more things to sell, so we're adding to the gift card totals! We're basically selling everything we can't fit into the car to take to a donation center. So we find people who want to haul it away for us and pay us for it. Works out great for us! :thumbsup2

I've stolen an idea from tinkerbell87512 and I've begun to watch Disney movies every night as a way of counting down till the trip. Okay, so I've only watched movies two nights so far, but who's counting?!

Last night was Cinderella and tonight is the Little Mermaid.

I have "Kiss the Girl" as the ringtone on my phone for non-DH callers (his is "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz). Well, when "Kiss the Girl" came on in the movie, DH yelled from the office "Julie, your phone!" :rotfl:

17 days. We're getting so close. We got tons of packing/sorting done over the weekend, so we're feeling like we're on top of the moving situation. Tomorrow, I begin telling my kiddos' families that I am moving. Those are going to be some very tough conversations. I have a feeling that there will be a lot of tears shed over the next week as I tell each family.

On a happier note, 3 of my best friends in the whole world are coming out to visit this coming weekend!!! They all wanted to sneak in one last visit before we move! I am SO excited for them all to be here at once! It's going to be like rewinding to high school and all our sleepovers!

What a riot about the DH and the ring tone! That's too cute.

I'll never forget the first time mine went off after I switched it.

Obviously, I chose music from POTC. It's called The Medallion Calls, and it's the theme you hear the very first time we see Jack Sparrow, when he's on top of the mast of that sinking boat.

Anyway, I was in a dressing room, and DH called me. And suddenly there was POTC music coming from my purse. I was almost hysterical. :lmao:

Looks great! In the blonde pics your ends look flipped out, can you do that with the cut or did she thin it out to much? Flat iron the top, and use a good round brush on the bottom ends to flip it out. This is terrible for me to say but I actually like Garnier Nutrisse hairspray, BAD STYLIST!!!! BUT Ecogirl left me a bunch of stuff she didn't want to take and I love the stuff. I was just hoping none of my clients would see me in that aisle in Walmart :rotfl2:

I also get SO bent outta shape if people don't follow MY schedule, I am like a commando about eveything but for certain reasons I need the control in my life (sounds like I saw my therapist yesterday, huh :lmao: ...well, I did! I needed one after the whole Bob fiasco!)

Good luck keeping on your schedule and feel free to call me anytime you want a touring parter like youself :yay:  I'm nearly done with my report :sad1:

Too funny about the ring tone! Mine is When You Wish Upon a Star and when it accidentally rung one day in my 8th grade classroom, my students looked at me, sighed, and one of them said, "You know you have a serious obsession." :rotfl:

You are going to have a blast with your friends this weekend!!! :goodvibes

I guess we all qualify as having a serious obsession! :rotfl: Fortunately, most of my patients are pretty young, so they think it's pretty cool that I love Disney so much!

I can't wait for my friends to come!!!

Add me to the 'serious obsession' list. My phone rings to It's a Small World and Hakuna Matata daily. People do look when I'm in a store and It's a Small World belts out from my purse.

It's so nice to have a little Disney reminder every time the phone rings!

Awww you mentioned me in your PTR! :flower3: Thats so funny about your cell phone.

I really like how your hair came out! Super cute! It will take some time for you to figure out how to "wear it".

You are getting so close now. I hope you have a good weekend with your friends!!!!!

I had to give you credit since I stole your idea!

Thanks! :goodvibes

:lmao:

Good ringtone choice!

I always forget when I change my ringtone and then I'm SHOCKED when the new song starts coming out of my purse or pocket!

Looks great! In the blonde pics your ends look flipped out, can you do that with the cut or did she thin it out to much? Yeah, I think she thinned it out to much at the ends. I tried to flip it out the first time i styled it and it ended up looking crazy. So I think I need to get the bottom trimmed up a little bit. That stinks because I was loving the length of my hair.

Thanks for the tips, my long distance stylist!

Oh, man, hopefully I can avoid having any temper tantrums due to people straying from the schedule! I'm not sure what the chances of that are though!

It would be so fun to go around the parks with you! We could speedwalk to our hearts' content and not have anyone saying we're walking too fast!

Anytime you need hair advice ask away! I took mine deeper last month but yesterday I put a deep violet blackish brown shade:lovestruc it! It's wicked shiny and next time I might do a little more violet, it so dark you only get hints but it looks fabu!

I am the temper tantrum/control queen, trying to get it under (via going back to therapy) control but alot of it is that I want things to go the RIGHT way (as in being on time, not staring at a map, having a plan, etc) That's why I was so happy to go to AK with Ecogirl. MADWALKIN' I say :thumbsup2 Girl, anytime you want to plan a trip with me, just say GO. I'm trying to plan a DCL for next year but everyone is dwindling on my. I. MUST. CONTROL. MY. I borrowed Ratatouille from one of my little patient's sisters today! She was also my supplier of the Little Mermaid. I think she loves being able to share her Disney stuff with me! Works for me! Not sure if I'll have time to watch Ratatouille tonight, but I can't wait to see it again. I love that movie!

I was at the grocery store yesterday and I saw in the checkout line that they have Disney gift cards there. So instead of going to the biggest-outlet mall-in-the world-in-which-I-can-never-find-the-Disney-Store, I can just buy our gift cards at the grocery store! That will also keep me from buying some shirts I don't need when I'm only supposed to be in there for gift cards!

My 3 girlfriends from high school had to cancel their trip this weekend. :sad2:

My friend's dog got bitten really badly by another dog this weekend and has a big wound that needs liquid stitches and antibiotics twice a day. None of the kennels will take a dog with an open wound. And her dog isn't supposed to be around other dogs till she heals, so none of the usual dog sitters can watch her as they all have dogs.

My other friend is a lawyer and her boss told her YESTERDAY that she can't take Friday off anymore (they were supposed to leave Friday morning) even though she asked for it off a MONTH ago!

So that leaves only one friend who is scared to fly by herself. She gave birth to a baby without drugs, but she's scared to fly by herself. :confused3

SOOO...no one is coming to visit this weekend. :sad1: Even though I'm sad, I kinda feel like God was trying to tell us that this trip should not happen. Like something bad may have happened if they came.

HOWEVER, we all decided that with the Southwest credits they will get for canceling their flights, we will all take a 30th birthday trip together next year. All four of us will turn 30 in 2009. So now we need to think of a great place to go! (Of course, Disney was the first thing I thought of, but I'm not sure they'll go for that.)

It is a disappointment that the weekend didn't come through, but already having flights paid for an awesome 30th birthday celebration is a good thing!

Disney seems like an excellent choice for a celebration - so many different things to do for so many different tastes. If you could go one one of the actual birthday dates, that person could get a little break on their park ticket. If they won't go for Disney World, though, you could think about trying out one of the Disney Adventures. That would be pretty cool, too. Or maybe New York and a Disney Broadway play, with some shopping at World of Disney, naturally.

There are plenty of ways to throw a little Disney fix in there, but even if you do nothing remotely Disney, you girls will all have lots of fun together!

So, now that you have a free weekend, you have time to knit a few sweaters and scarves for the cold Chicago winters ahead of you! :)

I completely forgot about the birthday offer at Disney World. That is a good point!

I think it would be so fun to go to Disney World with a bunch of my best girlfriends. Let's hope they think the same way. But you're right...whatever we do, we can sneak in a little Disney. And we're bound to have a wonderful time no matter what our plans may be!

Oh my goodness! Speaking of sweaters and scarves, I have been looking at my clothes to make sure I have everything I need for Disney. I know I'm gonna need layers for Disney. The evenings will probably be pretty cool. Well, I have discovered that I have SO FEW cold weather clothes. I think 3 years was just the perfect amount of time to stay here to allow me to donate almost all of my cold weather clothes. Time for some shopping!

So sorry your friends can't come. But, as you say, everything happens for a reason - here's to a great 30th celebration!

Yes, I can't help but feel that this trip was just not supposed to happen. There were too many things that happened to tell us that.

And I am SO excited about the 30th birthday celebration! My friends are all dreading turning 30, but I'm excited about it. We've all made some major accomplishments in our 30 years on this Earth, and it's time to celebrate that!

Sorry to hear that your friends aren't coming after all :(. Hope the 30th celebration is so wonderful that it makes up for this missed weekend!!!

Yes, hopefully, we can plan a celebration that will blow this canceled weekend out of the water!

TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY, I WILL BE AT DISNEY WORLD!

I was looking at our flight confirmation yesterday and I was reminded that our flight is at 6:10 a.m. :scared1:

I guess I'll be up at 3:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving! But I'll get up at any time of the morning/night if it means I'm going to Disney World!

Yesterday, we confirmed with our friends that they are able to watch our dogs during our trip. We are very fortunate to have friends that actually LIKE to watch our dogs. That saves us so much money and so much worry!

Oh, I'm SO excited!!!!!:hyper:

I feel so bad for my friend's dog (Paisley). I also feel bad for our other friend whose dog bit Paisley. He feels like it's his fault that Paisley got bitten, but they were just being dogs. And Paisley is on the mend and will be ready to play with her dog friends again soon!

We have Ratatouille, but I can't find it anywhere. Drew watches some of the Pixar ones sometimes, and I think he may have taken it off and left it a someone else's house. I like that movie, except for the part where he's in the jar. I can't stand that part.

This morning, someone came and bought our grill. That was the last of our items to be sold!

So I headed over to the rip-off Coinstar machine with a big ol' bag of change and got my paper money.

Then I visited the Disney Store, where I got some giftcards with the money from the change and the things we have sold. DH and I are now the proud owners of 3 Disney gift cards totaling 230 dollars! :yay:

They're wintery gift cards. So cute!

And they had a shirt that I have been visiting on DisneyShopping.com! The shirt was marked down to 4.99 and then it was an extra 25% off. So I got this cutie for less than 4 dollars!

I have begun packing. I already have SO much stuff in the suitcase. But no clothes yet! I am going to have to seriously weed out the items in that suitcase. That's why I have to start packing so early...so I have time to eliminate all the unnecessary stuff that I pack!

Oh dear! I need a vacation right now. I have been telling all my clients that I'm moving and it's so emotionally draining.

Everyone is pretty upset. Some are upset to lose me, specifically. Some are upset to just be losing a P.T. in general. Either way, it stinks. One of the moms said today "I thought we'd just have you forever." Yesterday, one of the moms started crying. Which made me cry. Which was hard to stop. Most of the moms tell me flat out "No. You can't leave. I won't let you." Or something along those lines. I feel like I am letting so many people down. I keep telling myself that these kids have had me for up to 2.5 years and it's okay for me to move on, but it's still so hard.

After Thursday, I will have told every single family. It will be a huge relief to be done with that.

Then I just have to tell the family of my little sister from Big Brothers/Big Sisters. That is going to be terribly hard.

Thanks for listening. Today was a hard day and I just needed to vent! (Not that I haven't been venting ALL night to DH! We even had to go get a Blizzard from Dairy Queen to make it better!)

Boy, when you people dance, you really go all out, don't ya????

You guys are obviously much younger than I am. ;)

Julie, sorry this is all so emotionally draining on you. The trip will give you a lot of happiness. I know your families are going to miss you so much, not just as a therapist, but as a sweet friend in their lives. This is one of those situations where you really understand the phrase, "Our loss is their gain." I know I felt the same way when we lost two assistant principals. They were promoted to principals at other schools, and I really did feel exactly like that - we were losing good, good people, and some new teachers were being lucky enough to get them. You'll miss your 'old' families, but think of the lucky new families out there that will be so fortunate to have you coming to them.

The Little Sister thing - that may be pretty hard. I'll pray that she'll get another good woman that will step up and be as good to her as I know you have been.

Sorry you're going through such an emotional experience in leaving work. Of course they don't want to lose someone as great as you are! I mean, this may be "just" an internet message board, but the type of person you are just comes shining on through each of your posts, and that's someone wonderful!

Yuck!

I've been sick at home all day today with the flu. I am finally starting to feel a little better.

As much as it stinks to be sick right now, I am glad I am getting it out of my system before the trip. I certainly don't want to be sick when we're at Disney World.

My crocs are supposed to arrive in the mail tomorrow. I hope they get here because I want to be able to break them in a little bit before the trip.

Now I'm just waiting for the season finale of America's Next Top Model and praying that I feel better tomorrow so I can go to work!

ONE WEEK!

SEVEN DAYS!

And only 5 of those are work days!

I just placed my order on costco.com for 2 cases of bottled water to be delivered to Pop Century. I normally don't buy bottled water for several reasons, but I know I would be forking over 2 or 3 dollars per bottle at the parks a couple times a day. This way, I got 48 bottles of water for 12 dollars! Of course, DH and I will share with my parents and my brother and SIL.

Since I was sick yesterday, I wasn't eating much of anything. So, instead of eating, I looked at menus of Disney restaurants online. I have pretty much chosen everything I will eat for the whole week. :rotfl:

I just checked the weather forecast, which goes up to next Sunday, and it's looking like 71 to 74 degrees for the highs and sunny or partly sunny. No rain in the forecast so far. :woohoo: I wonder if weather in the low 70s is going to seem cold to us? We're still in the mid-80s here in Phoenix! It sounds like you've been a great presence in all of their lives and it's amazing that you can have such an influence like that in your job. You make me want to go back to school and get a PT degree!

I've been checking the weather too and it looks like it's going to be really nice! I'm a couple of hours north of WDW and we've been getting some cold fronts (highs in the upper 50's & 60's, lows in the 20's & 30's), but it looks like they'll be gone by the beginning of next week.

Hi Jules- I didn't realize you were sick but you're right: better get it out of your system now than be ill while you are there! Nothing better than sitting and planning all your meals out..... :thumbsup2 HUGE hugs on the client leaving. When is your set off date? Mine would be so bummed if I left but I keep telling them I'll let them know when I get my own place. I DO have a client who specializes in autism and is leaving her practice in RI to be in CT (her and her dh live here but they both have a massive commute) and I'd been hearing how sad she is to leave her "kids" to you!

BTW you are my race girl (I know you've done it too!) but I forgot to mention it was 32* outside, :cold:

Yay for 5 days!!!

I normally wear a size 9 and sometimes 9.5 in shoes, but I order my crocs in a size 10. They're supposed to be pretty big on your feet. I would definitely try them on before you order them. If they feel like they fit just right, then they're probably too small. Weird, huh?

Seems like you're coming over to the crocs side...

I told my little sister's mom yesterday about our move. She told my little sister today. Then they came over today for a meeting with my friend who's a nutritionist. While they were here, I chatted with my little sis about how we'll keep in touch with letters, phone calls, and emails. She said there was a bunch of Christmas stuff she wanted to do with me this year and she's sad we won't have time to fit it in. :sad2: But I'm going to try my hardest to fit as much Christmas stuff in a possible before December 20 (our move date)!!!

I am SOOO ready for this vacation! :hyper:

I have a question...are the counter service restaurants pretty much the same at all the resorts? Thanks!!!

Thanks for the croc info. I hate to admit it but I think you're right, I am coming over to the croc side  I still think they're hideously ugly BUT if they're as comfortable as everyone says they are (which I'm assuming they are since it seems EVERYONE wears them) then it's worth it. Do you know where I can find any of the discount codes people seem to use to get them? I fit into kids sizes in shoes so that will save me some money on them but I'm cheap and any savings will help. (I have big thighs and a big butt and my feet are so small that, according to a friend of mine, it looks like I'm about to tip over sometimes :rotfl2: )

I wish I could help you with the counter service question but I've never been to any of the monorail resorts (sad, I know). Your trip is so close and my jealousy-meter is rising daily :lmao:

Oh, the crocs will look SO much better on your feet because your feet are so small! So there's one reason to be thankful for tiny feet. I look like I'm wearing clown shoes when I wear crocs because my feet are so darn big!

For a discount code, I would go to the site shoebuy.com and sign up for email updates. They send coupons/codes pretty often. And they have free shipping and free return shipping, which is awesome.

So excited, your trip is SO close! :goodvibes

On the monorail resorts, I think basic counter service is the same. The only reason I would recommend the Poly (even though it can be a bit hectic at times) is because they have Dole Whip on tap. Oh, yeah baby. Yum, yum. :lmao:

Julie -- you are down to four days!

I was actually going to say the same thing as TarzansKat -- the Poly has Dole Whips in their counter service area, so I would totally stop there. On the other hand, there is that Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian, so I would totally buy some gingerbread from there.

Also, check out allears at their menus -- they have all the resort counter service ones.

Good idea to check out allears!

Well, maybe we can eat our lunch at the Poly and then head over to GF for some gingerbread!

Only four days left till we go to DISNEY WORLD!!!! :woohoo:

I just finished adding a bunch of music to my ipod for the plane rides. I guess I was in an 80s mood because it was mostly 80s music!

All of my laundry is done for the trip with the exception of the clothing I will wear for work this week. I wear shorts and jeans and t-shirts every day for work, so my work clothes will definitely be worn on the trip.

Now I have to bust out a bunch of progress reports on my kiddos. I am SO behind on them and I hope to get most of them done before I leave. So today is going to be a paperwork day. Yuck!

I can't believe we're down to four days! What a great feeling!

Hi Julie! Sorry it took me so long to get over here. The end of the semester always kicks my butt, and this time the works starting three weeks early so I haven't had much time on the boards. I CAN'T BELIEVE you're three days away! I remember reading your report when you first started it back in March, and now you're three days away. How in the world does time fly by so fast? Either way, I'm sure you're thankful that it does ;) I hope you have an amazing time down in Florida, and take some time to yourself to relax and not worry about the stress of moving. You deserve a nice break from it all! Wow, I know I've said it already, but I can't believe how fast these past eight months have flown by! We leave in 8 months from now, so I'm hopeful that the time will go by just as fast

Have a great time, and take lots of pictures since I'm psyched for another SwansLoveDisney report! :woohoo: :woohoo:

I totally understand the end of the semester thing. Always a jam-packed time!

This has definitely been a LONG pre-trip report, but it sure has made the time go by faster. So much has happened since I started this PTR!

I am really looking forward to being at Disney World and blocking out all thoughts of work and moving. I spent ALL day yesterday doing paperwork for my job. It was a long day, but I'm all caught up now and I won't have to worry about a thing when we're in Florida! :woohoo:

If so, just PM me the address and tell me what characters they like and maybe what you would like the postcard to say. I would be happy to spread a little magic while I'm at Disney World!

When will I learn that it's not a good idea to buy a box of hair color and put it on my own head?

I thought my most recent hair color (done by a student only 3 weeks ago, if you'll recall) was fading at an uneven and alarming rate. So I decided to take matters into my own hands.

So, this evening, I applied semi-permanent color (thank Goodness I had the foresight to use semi-permanent and not permanent) in the color of hazelnut, medium warm brown, and waited the recommended 10 minutes. I washed my hair and dried it and it's DARK!!!

I showed DH and he said "Looks good. It's a lot darker than before." I asked him if I should try to fade it and he said no, it's fine. I'm not so sure I like it this dark, but it should fade within a few weeks.

When will I learn?

Do you want to see pics of the darker do? Well, you're just gonna have to wait till the TR! :)

Hey! I'm going to Disney World THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW!

:yay:

I can only hope that the next two days of work go by quickly!

Tonight, I have to give myself a pedicure and wash the clothes that I have worn this week which will come with me on the trip.

Then tomorrow, I just have to finish packing and we'll drop the dogs off at our friends' house.

Then, Thursday morning, we're off!

I can't believe you're going to make us wait to see your new hair color! That is just cruel! And how will I know it's you so I can say hi if I happen to pass you in the Pop lobby?! I'd probably recognize your DH from your pics, but he'd probably think I was insane if I said hi and mentioned the DIS. :lmao: See? All very good reasons to reveal your new color! :goodvibes

You'll probably be super busy packing tomorrow, so if I don't "talk" to you before then, have a fantastic trip! I can't wait to read about your experiences. Like I mentioned in a previous post, we'll be just missing each other with our trip dates. But in the lucky event that I see you while I'm checking in, I'll definitely say hi!
