4 days, 1 park and lots of resorts...and of course some ip-dips..A photo tour

***This report contains mostly pics of signs and photos around resorts till the 2nd to last day. It was a solo trip with a specific reason.**

Thought I would bring this over to here now.

So like I said this report will be mostly me going around the different resorts.

But you will get to meet some ip-dips along the way.

We are off.

I arrive at LaGuardia and took me about 5 minutes or less to get through security. Now I wait for my flight.

I believe I had Dunkin Donuts for breakfast.

Then the plane comes in.

I'm at work just browsing the DIS...I leave on thursday it can't come soon enough! I'm heading to Pop so you better post some details of that place before then!

Day 1:

So as I got to the line like I said I was the only one. I got in line and 1 minute later I was told to go outside, I did, and got onto a bus that was practically full.
I sat down and the people in front of me must have been living large as they both had there seats pushed all the way back. Half way there the lady in front of me moved her seat up.
Now this bus was stopping at AKL, POP and CSR. Guess what, POP was first.

So now that I am first to be dropped off we arrive at POP. I make my way to the registration desk and guess what, no one is in line. I was so happy.

I got checked in and was told I would be in the 70's. Fine with me. So I got all my paperwork and left and walked outside to the busses.

Ok so I go up to the podium and ask if I could be seated and how long? They say I can sit at the bar right away or wait 20 minutes for a table. I chose the table.

Sorry so dark. This is inside. When you look in u see the podium on the left, then there is a little stand behind it. all the way over to the left is the bar area. Straight ahead is the animatronics (sp?) of a T-rex and 2 little ones.
Then on the right side is the gift shop and there is also a "Build-a-Dino" workshop.

After that I left.

**REVIEW**

I checked in and the ticket said 20 minutes. 45 minutes later I got seated but I had to go up to the podium and ask what the hold up was.
*First you walk by the bar area. It is fantastic looking.
*Next room is the sea area. Fish tank in the middle, giant jellyfish hanging. really cool.
*Next is the forest or jungle room. This is the room I ate in. The ceiling looks like moss hanging. It was a cool place.
*Ice room is next to this and the ice changes colors. It was really fun to watch.
*next room is the asteroid room. I only saw this room at a quick glance. Someone else ate here :whistle: maybe they can describe it better.

*Food*
I got a cheeseburger. It comes with pasta salad or potato chips. You can substitute for $1.99 waffle fries which is what i did.
I asked for the burger to be well done but it was more medium well. It did not matter, this burger was one of the best I have had.
Topped with shredded lettuce, tomoto(none for me), onion, pickles(not for me) and on top of that an onion ring. Incredible is the only thing to describe it.

*Drink*
I decided to have the cotton candy appletini and decided to get the souvenir shaker for $12.99
They put the cotton candy in the glass and then pour the drink over it. I was sitting there wondering how I was going to eat the cotton candy but it fully dissolves. One of the best drinks I have ever had. It was very strong too.

*Price*
$31.64

Overall I really enjoyed it. The waiting was not necessary and if you wait longer than your ticket then go to the podium and ask.
It is pricey and a little noisy. It was my first meal eating alone down there and I really enjoyed it.

Some time around here I got a text from Buzz saying they were at the pool. I found out which pool and went searching. This place is HUGE.

So I finally found them at the pool. I asked housekeeping while walking and they had clue. :rotf: We chatted for about 15 minutes and they are such great people. The kids were wonderful. I was so happy to finally have met them.

They had to go get ready for dinner and I was heading back to POP to relax.

My room was 0203 in building 10. This is located next to the main building. My room was 3 doors away from the big wheel.

I think it was around 5 or 5:30 and the next thing I know it is 8:30. I fell asleep.

I went to POP Everything and decided I will just have a counter service for dinner.
I got
Cheesesteak Wrap with french fries
frozen coke
tye-dye cheesecake

The cheesesteak was really good, just a little greasy.
I got addicted to the frozen cokes.
The cheesecake I was so excited to have but I was disappointed. the dye got all over my mouth and teeth. It was NASTY.

Then I decided to walk around the resort.

Day 2: Part I

I had Stitch wake me up around 7:30. Got up and shaved and took my shower. I will say now that they put me in a wheelchair accessible room. I did not like the shower.

Anyway, I then was on my way to Kona for breakfast. I have wanted to eat breakfast here for awhile so I said why not. I had a 9:40 reservation so I set off my way. I do not think the wait for the bus was very long.

Soon I arrived at the Magic Kingdom.

I arrived around 9:05 so my timing was way off.

I would say within 5 minutes I was seated. I was seated right when you walk in to the left. If you walked down the main middle aisle you would have passed me.
There 4 people sitting next to me and 2 on the other side. At first I felt weird but that soon left me. By this day I was loving being solo, not so much the first day but now I loved it.

I ordered a cup of coffee, oj and the big kahuna.

I got a carafe of coffee (which I finished) thank you. I meant to ask for the juice you can get at O'Hana but forgot.
The big kahuna I was not impressed by. The pancakes were really good but everything else was just ok.
If I go back for breakfast I will try the tonga toast. I prefer this place for dinner.

Now this is also where I saw a nice older couple who were lost. They were staying in the DVC section and just could not figure out how to get there (I think they were very close) so a CM who was rushing off to somewhere stopped and they asked her and she told them, nope no clue. She then took the time to walk them to the building. I thought it was sweet.

I walked in here to eat but my goodness they were so slow. I left. Now children skip this next paragraph. I go into the bathroom to do my stuff and there is a urinal so I use it and go wash my hands. I look in the mirror; there is a teenage in there entertaining himself in the stall. If u get what I mean. I guess he had no privacy upstairs but I mean really close the door. I don't think Walt meant this as "feel the magic".

Seeing your Grand Floridian pics brought back memories of my wedding day. Our wedding wasn't at the GF (it was at the Boardwalk) but we did get some of our wedding photos taken there. It's such a beautiful hotel. I also loved seeing your Poly photos... it is definitely my MOST favorite resort.

I've never been to Ft. Wilderness, but it looks really cool. I need to make a trip there sometime. And I am dying to stay at WL, it is so pretty.

Now I go and sit and wait for Dude(Camelcots), HHBG(her hubby), Carrie and Steeb. Dude and HHBG get there but Carrie and Steeb are waiting on a boat.

Ressie is for 7:25 so I tell them that we are waiting for 2 others to arrive and she said no problem just let them know when they all get there.

7:40 they arrive. Husky voice and all. LOL Carrie was sick and had lost some of her voice.

We are escorted to our table. It took a long time for the waiter to come by. First the manager or someone came by and asked if anyone came to our table and then when he did he seemed so put off.

So drinks were ordered, as were appetizers. I ate the bread, which was really good.

Cannot remember what we all had but Carrie and me had the scallops. I thought they were really good.

Then we had dessert. I had the caramel cheesecake or something like that. It was good but small.

We were there for 2+ hours and we chatted the entire time. I do not think anyone of us was not talking.

It was a great time. I had met Dude months before at a NYC meet and it was great to meet her hubby.

Carrie and Steeb it was great to meet them too.

Every one of them was so nice and so easy to talk to. They took the correct way home I went cheap. They all took cabs. I decided to go to the MK bus and take that.

HOOBOY what a mistake that was. While I waited I saw some ugly, nasty people just complaining about everything. It took at least 45 minutes to get on a bus. I was supposed to meet Mrsksomeday and MrK right Now and there friend Amy at POP for a drink but they stayed to watch the last Spectro.

I got back to the room and 2 minutes later I got a text from Tracy, they r getting off the bus. So I jump up and run up to POP Everything and walk to the front door and they r just coming in.

Tracy and I chat and chat and chat and Bill and Amy look around the store. (Sorry Bill and Amy).

Then I walk with them to there rooms. There was quite a surprise for them when they got there. I will let Tracy tell you. She was not to happy.

I then left them and walked around the resort. It is really peaceful and night. Went back to room and set alarm.

Let IP-DIP FEST 2008 BEGIN.

I set my alarm and Stitch woke me up again. Such a reliable little alien. Took my shower, got dressed and went to the food court for breakfast. Had a western omelet, potatoes and OJ. Delicious.

Made my way to the bus. Did not wait too long. The location for Ip-Dip was.

We all stood around saying our hellos. I made each a key chain for the meet and handed them out.

I gave the kids each a toy.

Dude made LA a gorgeous dress.

Once in the room they opened the door before the movie ended. Nice bonus. I rode with Carrie and Steeb and Linnie and son. I had the hardest time getting the seatbelt to go in.

**Review**

I was a little hesitant about this place but surprisingly I enjoyed it. The food was very good; the pretzel bread was to die for. The salad with the herb dressing was so fantastic I had 2 helpings. I think the only thing I did not like was the pot roast. I would definitely go back again.

So everyone started leaving. Soon it was Buzz, Linnie, Tracy, Bill, Amy and myself. I think it was 9:45 and we split up.

I walked out with Tracy and company. I think I used the facilities and Amy had a ciggie.

We then went to the bus stop, which had one waiting and we soon on out way to POP.

Once at POP Amy took off and Tracy, Bill and I went into POP Everything.

I think this is when Tracy bought a yellow Mickey head key chain to represent the boards. Good girl. :rotf:

We chatted and then we said our goodbyes.

Ip-Dip review:

This was the best day I have had in a long time. Meeting everyone was fantastic. It was fun from the morning all the way through the evening.

Dinner was great; drinks were good (thank you Steeb and Buzz).

I am so glad I decided to go. I was hesitant with money and another trip so close but I am so glad I did it and just wanted to thank you all so much for a wonderful day.

So I now had 1 ½ to kill and so I got a soda and plopped myself on a chair outside and just people watched. I also had a friend stop by.

I got the front seat on the way to the airport.

I decided to walk around. I went into.

I also had a carvelanche from Carvel. It was Reese’s and very good.

Then I made my way to the gate.

Plane loaded on time and we left on time. Now is where I was annoyed, my TV did not work for ¾ of the trip home. I like watching the live map but could only do it from Washington D.C. on.

Night was coming.

Brooklyn, Staten island or Queens? I have no idea but I think it was Brooklyn.

We landed and were in half hour early. :woohoo:

Went to get my luggage (one of the last ones off) and then went home.

Final thoughts:

At first I was hesitant about it because of money but I am so happy I went.

1) Jetblue – this was my first time flying them and it was really a great experience. I am flying them again in December and hope I will have the same experience.

2) Pop Century – I have decided I am not a value type person. The resort I liked with the pop icons all over the place but it was so noisy with so many kids just running around with no parents telling them otherwise. I never experienced that at Riverside. I did like the food court but I do like having a sit down restaurant if I decide to go have that. The room was nice. It did not seem too small. Bus service from resort. This was not so good some times. Actually waiting 45 minutes or so at MK was ridiculous. I know all resorts have their problems with buses but that night every other resort was leaving 2 or 3 buses before one bus came for us. Other than that the buses were not bad. I do like the queue at POP. Keeps people from jumping in front of you on line. The frozen coke was really good. So will I stay here again probably not. I like the look and feel of the moderates or deluxes.

3) Going solo – the first day I was a little sad to be alone and seeing all the other people with someone else to share the happiness of the place. When I woke up on Saturday I was so over it. I loved being alone. I would definitely go on another solo trip.

4) Resort hopping- this was so much fun. I got to see most of the resorts. I think I missed the All-Stars and Shades of Green and Coronado Springs (for a reason I skipped it). If you have the time to resort hop do it I highly recommend it.

5) Ip-Dip meet. This was the reason for the trip and it just flew by. I had so much fun. All of you I met are wonderful, funny people. It was so easy to talk to you all and just feel at ease.

6) Ip Dip II - next meet should be a new park and a new restaurant. I think every year we should get together and try something new.

So I would definitely do a solo trip again. I absolutely loved meeting everyone. With that this tr is over.

I'm so glad you got to spend the time resort hopping. They are all so cool in their own ways. If (big IF) my friend and I do get to go in March, we may just get a two day ticket, to make it more affordable, and then spend a day resort hopping and a day at DTD. I'm not sure I want to renew my AP until summer, because I'd like to get two summer trips, a fall or winter trip, and maybe a spring 2010 trip out of it. I enjoy just walking around the resorts, seeing the decor, eating the food, taking pictures.

Anyway, great job with the pictures. Now, get packed up, put on your stocking cap, and get down there and get us some good Christmas ones!

Wow that is a lot of trips. I wish. Biff is insisting on Europe next year. London and Paris but I might throw in Euro Disney.

it was a lot of fun. first day was strange but second day I was so into it.
it was so fun seeing the resorts. something I normally would not do.
