How amazing !!!

Thanks for posting this. I'm in class right now, TOTALLY not paying attention because I was sooooo engulfed by your story. That is so amazing that they gave you ALL so many privileges. When I was reading all of it, my heart was racing as if it was happening to me. Congratulations! How amazing for your family to enjoy ;)

Around what time was it when you guys won?

Good question! I'd like to know this answer too !

EmmersIsTheMommy

wazowskiLOVER:)..I totally thought of the DIS when we won..the whole time. Like.."I so wish I could tell them all right now" Because you're all the ones who 'get it' ya know? Other people are like "oh that's really cool' but that's it. I wish I'd taken more pics, but we had SUCH a busy day..but I really wanted you guys to experience it too! I wish all of the dis could've explored it with me! To geek out with me!

It was about 9:30ish? maybe 10. I was so distracted I didn't think to look! Probably more like the 9:30.

Oh I KNOWWW. When I was looking at your pictures, I was gasping at the big 'D' in the bathroom you posed in and the hidden mickey in the lights above the tub and so forth. How incredibly breath taking ! I'm so glad you won though. You guys look like such a fun and awesome family to deserve this gift!

EmmersIsTheMommy
12-08-2008, 04:45 PM
Exactly..little details like the D..just..I still find new stuff looking at the pics LOL

It was such a whirlwind.

Learned a cool fact. The treehouse never shuts off. LOL They soundproofed pretty well, but in the bathroom you could still hear it hehe

Fantastic time for your family, how will you handle a "normal" visit to the parks now. Sophie probably thinks everyone gets the star treatment !

LOL Yeah, now to explain that we don't always get to stay there. Hmmmm How heartbreaking! haha

You're very welcome trodrigue. I can't leave the DIS out of this..they helped me make my vaca amazing! In fact, I thought the whole time how long it'd take to type it all up HAHA

Wow! I am glad you didn't keep us in suspense any longer! And by the way, I will remind you that you weren't sure if your kids would take to a character meal or be creeped out by the characters - and see how much fun they had!!;) :goodvibes Even though it wasn't Goofy's, I knew you couldn't go wrong with character dining! Look at how happy they are!

So let me get this sequence of events straight again - you guys got off the ride, were approached by the Dream Squad, shown the introductory video and given the Fast Passes for everybody. Then you went back to your hotel, picked up some of your things, the Disney person came and picked you in in the Explorer, took you back to Disneyland, you were greeted by Queenie, you took the photos with everyone, you were given a free dinner at the Blue Bayou (was everything taken care of by Disney except for the tip?), you participated in the parade, and then stood in the Mayor's area to watch it, and then the next morning, I assume Disney took your bags back to your 'real' hotel, right?

So you were given another free meal by Disney at Minnie's? They gave you guys the Dream Suite, the Fast Passes for the entire 26 people, and two free meals? That is awesome! I had heard that they may give out one free meal with the Dream Suite or a free dessert buffet or something, but I didn't realize they were THAT generous! Wow! They are really handing out those dreams as the year comes to a close!

That is so great for all of you! Even though it may seem a bit anti-climactic to you now, how was the rest of your trip? You were at DLR for a long time. Did you have a good experience overall? Did you have lots of good food and get in some good shopping and take a lot of good pictures?

WOW!! Can I just tell you how jealous I am!!!:thumbsup2 (The smilie is pea green with envy.)

And you are right............us DISers totally get it!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I have a question for you. I have heard that after a certain hour, you have to leave the balcony and go into your room. Did you have that? I was just curious, cuz it would be fun to stay up late as long as possible and see all the action going on at night. And did someone come get you guys in the morning?

Geesh....................if it were me, I don't think I could even fall asleep! :hyper:

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! :goodvibes

Just read on the other thread - Disney gave you an engraved crystal bowl too, on top of everything else! That is wild! Two free meals, the Dream Suite, in-room chocolates, nifty bath products, a stocked fridge and a crystal bowl too? WOW! You hit the jackpot - or rather, Sophia hit the jackpot on her first trip, didn't she??:thumbsup2

EmmersIsTheMommy
12-08-2008, 10:29 PM
Yep Sherry, you got it all right. The dining was cool. they said up to 75 bucks a person, well the kids aren't gonna eat that much! But we didn't have much time otherwise we woulda gotten an appetizer! Disney covered the tip too..we assume what we didn't 'eat' they gave as a tip.

Tinkermell- Ya we can't go out on balcony after park close cuz they have to 'secure' the room. So they lock it. But we can go in the courtyard in the middle all we want. The problem was it was a weeknight (the ONLY night without fireworks..go figure LOL) so the park closed at 8. So we weren't out there much. By the time you get back from parade it's like 7:30.

How amazing is that clock show and the fire :) I'm soo happy that you got video of all the amazing things that go on in the Dream Suite :)

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC !

Too bad though, you couldn't enjoy fireworks. Maybe thats why you got a character breakfast ? Because, I do remember seeing a family with a buffet on the balcony watching out toward the sky when we were there in October.

You know, I wondered that too but when I asked what time fireworks are (this is at like 4:30) they said "oh! I dunno if there are any..let me find out" And there weren't, obviously. But they'd already told us about the character breakfast?

You know what? There were no fireworks Wednesday night. I think the CMs knew that way before too. Around 5:00pm I overheard a CM telling a guest there were no fireworks that night (it was on the calendar though). It wasn't windy either. I wonder what happened?

EmmersIsTheMommy

Hmmm I dunno when they're quitting. I thought through the 31st?

and I know that on Thursday (I think) They started fireworks and I overheard that it was too foggy to see them so they quit. So maybe Wednesday was foggy too? I didn't pay attention. LOL

Oh no doubt. I can only imagine. It would be nice if they kept that part of the Dream give away after the first of the year.

I'm hoping they will. I mean, all that work that they put into that suite and they are not going to use it that way anymore ? That doesn't make any sense!

Thanks so much for the tons of pics and the videos (especially the videos). I loved the fireplace one because there's only so much that one can understand without a visual aid and I was really curious to see what was meant by having fireworks in the fireplace.

Disney was awesome by letting the rest of your family share in the magic (the passes, parade, AND suite tour) instead of just making them insanely jealous. I hope that they don't change the suite into something else, but maybe auction off nights with the proceeds going to charity (and giving us unlucky people a chance to see it with our own eyes).

I think it would be a wise move on their part if they did. With the economy the way it is business is sure to suffer. More people might come if they have something more to wish for.

Yeah an auction is a great idea. I assume they'd use it for VIP's and stuff but..yeah. Us average joe's...we're really impressed by that kind of stuff LOL

As for the 3rd, there was someone posting either here or on the other two forums I visit, saying that fireworks that night had been cancelled...they posted that at least a week before. Weird.

Molly- Man seriously. Worst day. We ended up having family members give us wonky directions home from Corona Del Mar and we got stuck in rush hour. My son got sick somehow (wasn't a bug..but maybe carsick and hunger plus sugar?) so he threw up (in a bag thank goodness) in the car..then we couldn't go to dinner cuz he was so 'sick'. I forced him to eat bread and diet coke and he went to sleep fine.

Poor thing. but ya the traffic was a nightmare..lost in the dark..i cried. a lot. LOL
