I agree how PC can you get...Oh come on, what other "Holiday" is associated with decorating a tree other than Christmas. (Christmas...is that a bad word). I made this decision about 3 years ago and I'm not going back on it now. I refuse to buy, decorate, go to the lighting of, or celebrate around, give or receive any gifts from anybodies "HOLIDAY" Tree. I only celebrate my "Holiday" festivities around a Christmas Tree! Rant mode off.

The most PC thing I saw, was at an elementary school concert when the kids were singing
"We Wish you a Merry Christmas..We Wish you a Merry Christmas"...Only the principal left his seat and whispered something into the music teachers ear. She abruptly stopped playing the piano. The teacher then went up to the risers and spoke quicly in a hushed tone to the kids. She sat back down at the piano, and resumed playing. The children then began to sing...We Wish You A Happy Holiday...We Wish You A Happy Holiday..and a Happy New Year". :rolleyes1
You know I don't care that they sang Happy Holiday instead of Merry Christmas..but to have stopped mid song, and change it, as if the kids had used foul language..I found that offensive.
I'm Christian, but was raised in a primarily Jewish neighborhood. Believe me there were years when I was the only Christian in my class. We often said "Happy Holiday's"..but we also heard "Happy Chanukah" ..and believe it or not even the now forbidden.. "Merry Christmas" as well. My Jewish classmates weren't afraid to say the words Merry Christmas. They didn't fear they were suddenly going to turn into Christians if they wished me a Merry Christmas. There was a mutual respect for religion..and culture. Now days..everything has to be generic so as to not offend anyone. :sad2: On more than one occasion our Jewish neighbors helped decorate our Christmas tree..they didn't start wearing crosses around their necks because of it. For that matter...my mother used to go into the city for "Passover" shopping with another neighbor. She wasn't converting... They were best friends  , and we often participated in one another's holidays. I miss those days. (and the food!).
