Hi there,
I can't believe we are so close to the race! Woo Hoo!
I am trying to get an idea of what kind of money to bring. I'm assuming that they sell shirts at the expo. I really want a Goofy Marathon shirt. How much do they run?
Also, do they sell other neat stuff that I shouldn't miss?
Is the expo crazy, crowded or can you get around easily and get the stuff you need? (trying to figure out how much time we will spend there as well.)
Thanks!

I'd like to know as well ... and whether we can use our room keys or credit cards to pay for things. I prefer not to carry cash if I don't have to :)

The expo is very cool. Lots of good stuff to look at and of course buy should you feel so inclined. There will be a ton of disney marathon weekend related apparel available. Additionally, there will be many vendors selling all manner of running related gear (shorts, tights, shirst, shoes, socks, power gels, posters, gloves, hats, books, etc.) Plan on spending a couple of hours or more there. I don't remember being able to use your room key. However, they will take your Visa and of course...cash! :thumbsup2

T-shirts were about 24 and up. Long sleeve probably 25.
Visors and hats were 22.
Pins are about 10-12.
Lots of other stuff Disney figures we'll buy. Cups, mugs, jackets, stuffed animals, key chains, mouse pads, pens, tech shirts, shorts, etc. Even bottled wine!
Disney has their own merchandise area. Plus all the vendors.

One tip for annual passholders, they WILL give a AP discount. The did for me last year!

I also got a discount one year when I used my Disney Visa (like the 10% discount they give on $50 and up purchases in World of Disney when you use your Disney Visa) -- for some reason I'm thinking it wasn't last year, though, so don't count on it.

Wow! that's awesome. I can't wait! I will be about an hour away on Thursday. WE weren't going to go until Friday after we picked another friend up from the airport. Is it insane on Friday? Would it be worth the trip on Thursday. If we go Thursday, can we pick up her packet?
Thanks!
Getting really excited!

Expo is insane every day! Not a complaint, I like the whole experience.
I've gone on Friday for the last 4 years (5th upcoming) and I have had merchandise a plenty. If you are looking for something specific, I can't say. I wonder if they hold stuff for each day so everyone has an opportunity.

Jeff - Do you have to spend a certain amount of $$ to get the AP discount? Although I have to admit spending a certain minimum has never been a problem for me :D
Last year if you were registerd for the Goofy you got a Goofy shirt as part of your goody bag. It was a long sleeve wic shirt like for training. I love mine. I hope we get another one this year.:)

Roxy,
Do us "Goofy'' people just get a shirt for doing the Goofy or do we also get the ones for the half and the full as well? In other words, do we get one shirt or 3? Thanks.

Jill,
You get three shirts if you are officially Goofy. A half, a full, and a goofy tech shirt. These you pick up after you get your bib #.

You can not buy too much Goofy gear. I bought a bunch last year and still wish I had bought more. I just didn't like the selection that much last year.
Question though: Has anyone ever bought the wine they are selling?

Cecilia--I bought a bottle of the Miles of Magic wine last year and it was good. Certainly not the best wine I have ever tasted but definetely not the worst. We will probably buy another bottle this year!

Seems that if I remember correctly they eventually put some of the marathon merchandise in the gift shop there at Wide World of Sports. Don't hold me to that, but it may be a place to check should you think of something you wanted, post expo.

The Syrah (red) wine was pretty good, especially since it went with our celebration dinner following Goofy. The bottle is a nice keepsake of the run.
AP discount, I don't know if there is a minimum amount, but I bought a lot, so minimum didn't matter to me. However, the discount was a nice surprise.
