Can you believe it’s almost 2009?? Whether 2009 will be your “year to design” or the year you “find time to design”, all of us have our personal creative goals for the year!

I’m going to do the annual thread again, so I thought we’d get kicked off with your goal for where you want to be at the end of 2009!

I’m going to keep the categories the same. . .at least for 2009! I thought it would give us something to shoot for, since we’ve already used them!

Once we end January 2009, I’ll link our goals list to the annual thread for 2009 so that you can see how you’re doing on your goals!!

I think our goal for the group should be 20,000 for the year! What do you think???

I wasn’t sure if we wanted to use this thread just for the scrapping goal or for our creative goals, too. If you want to list your personal creative goals, we’ll keep up with that, too. If we want a separate thread for that, I’ll keep it linked to the annual thread, too!!

So, let’s kick off 2009 to an INCREDIBLE start!!! Get your mindset going now, and we’ll keep each other motivated for our most successful year yet!!!

I think keeping all of our goals together is easier.

This year I am going to go for completing 2 pages a day- 730 pages for the year. Since I am above that this year I think it is reachable. It puts me at Scrapping Princess.

My goals for 2009:
1. Pages: 2 pages per day/ about 70 per month
2. Swap items- use at least 30 per month/ 360 during the year- 12 (Jan/09)
3. Stash- use up items before buying more- I should only buy things I don't have and need for a specific project
4. Cards- I am going to try and start making cards for others this year- I think my goal will be making 5 cards a month- I am going to try and use scraps for other things I am doing to make the cards
5. Wishblade File: 2 per month or 24 for the year- not including words
6. Techniques- learn/work on 6 techniques
7. Keep scrap area organized- I have things put away in a good way (if I don't buy more) but I need to keep things put away
8. Use up class items before Orlando Expo in May 2009
9. Use CPS pages as possible through year- don't sign up for any groups I haven't used the pages for
10. Swaps- only sign up for swaps that I can use/don't already have the items in the group

Scrapbooks for Others:
ABC Easter Album for Elizabeth
ABC Easter album for Lily
ABC Bible Verse Album for Ethan
ABC Bible Verse album for Joeseph
Number album for Sis's children
Number album for Sis-in-law kids
Dog Album for Mother in Law
Mini Albums for wee care teachers as end of year gift (2)

Scrapbooking for Me:

2. Finish MK Album- 4/30
3. Scrap Labelle Youth pages- 2/28

My 2009 goal...SAVE MONEY FOR THE HOUSE

I basically gave up my shopping ban, once DH got his new job. I can't do that next year, I want the house! So that will influence my scrapping decisions next year. I have to stay out of the stores, and I know that the only way to do that is with less swapping.

2009 Scrapping Goals

Spending limits - adhesive, photos, page protectors, Cricut cartridge sales. $10 a month limit on new, pretty stuff.

Swaps - probably only going to be my stuff only, unless I can figure out what to make completely from stash. I might amend to include color swap, or zoo swap items.

* 2008 photos - already have most printed

* Organize and start printing Disney photos

* 2007 Trans-Atlantic cruise album

* 1995 cruise pictures to finish out 1995 vacation album (WDW pics already done)

Well my main goal is to scrap more than I did this year. :thumbsup2
Using up my swap stash would be a good idea too.

I'll have to think more on this for specifics. I didn't do specifics this year. A list may work better.

Well one of my goals is definitely to scrap more than this year.

Specifically, I want to:
- finish DD's 2nd grade year
- finish DD's Hannah Montana album
- start DS's book
- finish 2007

I am going to keep it at that. If I get far enough, starting the 2008 book would be great!

I am hoping to do more than 300 pages. I want to be caught up, which means I have for the girls...

I 'd like to scrap atleast 400 pages. I think that is doable since I have almost scrapped a page a day this year. With DD's graduation, all 3 kids running track, and DD going off to college, I should have plenty of more pics that normal. I also keep working on my mom's pics so that helps.

My goals are to...

have DD caught up at graduation
keep boys and family albums current (which I am)
and get into the year 2000 with my mom's pics

It's not a lot, but DH is going to finish the basement this winter and I'm not sure how much time I will lose since I will have to pack up all my stuff. I can move some of it to our bedroom, but not all of it.

I was just thinking about my goals. Gonna get started soon. :goodvibes

1/2 year goal. Get this done before DH comes home.

1. To do more scrapping less swapping. (one swap per month and only something I can use right away)
2. Use stash and swap stash.
3. Start and get up to date DD#3's album
4. Get DD#1 & 2's albums updated.
5. Finish last pages of DD dance album 2006-2007.
6. Update Family album.
7. Scrap wedding album since Honeymoon has been done since we got back.
8. Scrap last 3 Disney Trips.

Thats all I can think of for now. I am sure there is more.

My goals for 2009:

1. Scrap 1 page a day.
2. Cut my spending budget and use what I have!
3. Attend at least 4 crops to learn new techniques
4. Participate in a Layout challenge Participated in January challenge! It was fun!
Scrapbooks I want to complete:
1. Wedding - all there is left is journaling but I'm such a slacker when it comes to journaling!
2. WDW 2008 - Done 1/17/09!!!
3. DCL 2008 - about 2/3 done
4. HS scrapbook
5. College
6. Life from 2003-current

I think that's pretty reasonable! Happy Scrapping Everybody!

I had my own goals last year... did not work, maybe on the board I can stick to it better.

1. Scrap more spend less. I kept track of how much I have spent in the past
2 years and this year was less, so I am going to make it a goal to at
minium $500 less than last year.

2. Less swaps. That is mainly what I scrapped last year was swaps. I want to
start using my stuff. So I will be joining no more than 5 for the year. I have
already picked out those from the swap calendar.

3. Albums I want to complete:

Disney trip 2000 and 2001
Disney Cruise album
My DS2 first year album
My last mini album to complete my set of 4.

I think we need to start a new shopping ban. If you make it to the end of each month we could get new blinkies or something. What do y'all think??

I'm going to shoot for 100 pages completed in 2009. It's not that ambitious, but considering I've gone months without doing any scrapping I think aiming for 2-4 pages per week may prove a challenge for me.

Some of my goals for 2009 are the same as 2008 (since I didn't complete any this year.)

Do DSister's wedding album that I promised her when she got married. I guess it will make a great 10th anniversary present if I can get it done by August.
Finish DD's 1st trip to WDW (2007) album - my first digital album
Finish DS's 1st trip to WDW (2005) album
Make album for our cruise through the Panama Canal
Make family tree album for DSisters
Finish album started at GASC for DD's 1st year
Make matching 1st year album for DS
Finish DH's 1st Father's Day presentI think that's a good start. Now if only I can stay focused enough to actually get these done.

Love the idea. thumbsup2 Im setting my budget at $10 a month for bazzill. and if i dont have it in my stash I dont need it. Except the Sesame Street Carts. they are on my list but only on sale. like $39 and one at a time. I *need* them to finish out last christmas (elmo was the thing), Seaworld trip, and DD's upcoming Abby Caddaby bday in feb. But those will be a christmas present. most likely late.:sad2:

Everyone's goals look great!! I got the thread posted this morning (that stealth-like sneaking in from work thing again!! ;) ), but I didn't get my own goals up.

When I do my sneaking tomorrow (it preserves my sanity!!), I will put is in our "goal" categories on the beginning page!

Here are my goals:

Scrap, scrap, scrap!! I would like to do an average of 2 pages per day. Specifically:

1. 2008 album
2. 2009 album--keep current
3. March 2008 WDW trip
4. DS's 1st year album
5. 2 upcoming Disney trips--one is DS's first, and one is for our 10th anniv.
6. Work on my brother's albums. Gonna work a little each month, and then whatever I get done in a year, he gets for Christmas.
7. My dad's Army photos--would love to give him this for Christmas next year

I am also going to participate in several swaps, because I missed it the last 9 months or so, but I'm going to limit myself to 2 groups at most, and only for what I really know I'll use!!

Personal goals:

1. Get better organized--keep my weekly lists up!
2. Lose the rest of my weight--about 30 lbs! :scared1:
3. Get in better shape!
4. Save money!! I really need to do that!!--I'm going to try to keep better track of my expenditures each month!!

I know we can all accomplish our goals--we just stick together and keep each other motivated!!

with 2009 starting, I am going to join in on this goal setting (I just started scrapbooking in September):

Finish scrapping the following vacations:
Disney - 2000, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008 (2)
Cruises - E. Caribbean, W. Caribbean, Alaska, Mediterranean
Trips - Niagara Falls, Hershey, PA

Learn to incorporate stamping in my pages

Spend less and use the stuff I already have more.

Try to attend one local crop or training each month.

Organize 6 boxes of photos and gather those together to get scanned so I can have digital versions.

I would like to average 2-3 pages per week.

I'm going to add to this/edit for sure, but here are my starting goals.

Overall pages - 500 pages. I met this in 2008, but I don't think I'll raise it.

Scrapping/Creative Goals:
- Deal with CKC Box o' projects - finish or strip down for parts
- Print pictures and finish ABC swap album
- Finish 2008 album DONE
- Keep 2009 album up to date Yes - Project 365
- Catch up on travel albums - WDW 10/07, 10/08, and any trips I may take in 09 (hopefully WDW 1/09 - fingers crossed)
- Scrap high school and college High School DONE
- Scan in all childhood pictures and negatives
- Continue working on park albums, using swap stash
- Wall art projects for scrap room and girls' bedrooms

Personal goals:
- Continue the "be healthier" plan I've been on for a few weeks of eating better and excercising
- Increase my cooking knowledge and skill

I don't know if I can come up with a number of pages, other than to aim for 3 a week. I really want to get to more all day crops and at least one weekend crop, like SDV. So my project goals are:

1.) Finish 2005 Disney Trip (by the end of January)
2.) Finish 2007 Family book
3.) Start and complete DS baby book
4.) Finish and complete 2008 family book
5.) Start 2009 Family album
6.) Start 2007 or 2008 Disney trip

I've actually thought about trying some digital pages to get more pages done quicker. So hopefully DH will take the hints to get me CM's SBC+. :rolleyes1

Lets see what goals do I want.

1. I need to scrap more.
2. I limited my swaps this year sicne having Noah and I need to continue that too.
3. Get more organized (my company decided to close the week of Christmas and I'm still paying daycare so I plan to get a big dent in this that week)
4. Use more of what I have. - As part of my organizing I'm going to try and clean out what I know I won't use and then get things where I can use them.
5. DH and I have talked and starting in the new year we are going to try at least one evening every other week that he has sole baby/house duty so I can get in my craft room and do something. Even if its only move stuff around. This will be hard for both of us since I naturally take over Noah once I get him home from daycare. I will have to work on letting DH take over that evening and it will be ok if the little guy is screaming (for a short period of time anyway - LOL) This will actually be good for both of us as he will get more time with Noah thats not rushed to get out the door in the morning and I will get some of my sanity back.

I'm sure to come up with more but thats my start.

Okay - I'm not sure just what I'll be able to accomplish next year, but I'm going to say 800 pages. I'll be just under that mark for this year and it'll at least give me a goal to shoot for!

I guess I should say that I want to get up-to-date on the kid's albums (I'm officially 5 years behind!), as well as finish the albums (& all of the accompanying stuff!) that are in boxes, uglifying my dining room. I want my dining room back! :rotfl2:

Although I love the smilies higher up, I think I should aim for Scrap Princess, since that's probably a reachable goal. I could have done it this year, but I liked the Scraptacular Success smilie so much that I kinda slowed down here at the end (probably better for school anyway) I suppose the creative goal is to finish whatever happened after DL 2006...hmmm. Oh, there was Vegas 2007, and three WDW trips this year. Probably some more stuff in there too that I'm forgetting. Plenty of work to do! :thumbsup2

Okay.... since this year's goals were a bit of a joke, I guess I will be more realistic this coming year.

First off.... I will re-committ to the shopping ban. I did really well this year for the most part. DH got me a Cricut for Mother's Day and I did buy myself a few cartridges (only on sale or clearance), but other than that I stuck to mostly buying adhesive, page protectors, and basic solid cardstock only on sale, on clearance, or with a coupon... (oops, I also bought two DCWV packs on clearance at Joanne's). I definitely spent less than I have in past years. But my "stash" is still huge. I am talking to the entire family about a spending ban for the spring (until school ends  ), and of course I will have to lead the way and set the example. It will be tough, but I am bound and determined to get our money to stop TRICKLING away!

Second goal.....

I want to complete TWO YEARS in the kids books. I mentioned that I wanted to do this on my last goals list, but forgot to mention where I was starting from!

I am currently mid-2004 on both kids chronological books. This would mean I would like to be mid-2006 by the end of 2009. This means starting and finishing our 2005 10 day New Mexico/Arizona/Grand Canyon/Hoover Dam/Disneyland trip. Our 8 day 2004 WDW trip took me ONE YEAR to scrap! So obviously this is a lofty goal for me. (I am a slow scrapper.) So I will leave my scrapping goal at just this. If I get anything else done (like DD's swim book, my family heritage book) that would be great, but I won't count on it.

My third goal is not scrap related, but I want to get my family on a stricter budget than we have had in the past. I am tired of the "Feast or Famine" mentality we live with. We need to plan better and budget better and quit letting the money trickle away on "stuff". It will be tough, because we have NEVER had a strick budget in all of the years we have been married. We do okay with saving, but not great. And our new septic system took a huge chunk from our emergency fund (as in... all of it!). So we MUST rebuild that and start saving MORE. PLus the kids are BEGGING to plan a WDW trip and we only do those with cash. And we can't save for a trip until the emergency fund is adequate again... so we have a "long road" to go.

Thanks for starting us on our 2009 goals!.........................P

Scrapbooking Goals for 2009:
- Finish our 2008 trip to DC book (I really need to get this done!).
- Finish the 2008 book. I'm in July right now but so far I'm getting a lot done this month.
- Keep current with 2009 book.
- Catch up on old pictures. I inherited a box full of old pictures from my daddy's side of the family and I've got them in a CM Power Sorter but not in order - I have to get them in order and then find an album that they will all fit in. Fortunately, daddy already scanned them in with descriptions so that part, the hard part for me, is done, thank goodness!
- Buy less and use more of what I have. I have tons of paper, stickers, die-cuts, plus a Cricut - there's no reason to spend tons of money on anything other than developing, adhesive, and refill pages if needed.

DIY Goals for 2009:
- Refinish the nursery furniture. It's my childhood furniture and needs to be sanded and stained.
- New carpet in the master bedroom (if I can find a good deal).
- Possibly install a second shower head in the master bath shower - that would be so cool! (This depends entirely on cost and mess involved).
- New closet doors in the front bedrooms.

I'm sure there's more but that's what I can think of right now.

Should we start another thread with our ban/money goals for the year. Maybe one with smilies or something that we can keep up with/earn by not spending money as we have done with the pages threads.

My creative goals are the same this year as last since I accomplished NONE of 2008s.

So,

1) Keep 2009 yearly book up-to-date
2) Finish the Fall and Holidays of 2008, aka complete the 2008 books
3) Finish Holiday 2007 and the few "large events" I have been avoiding scrapping because they are time intense- so finish 2007
4) Finish Holiday 2006 (do you see a pattern? I always seem to get sidetracked in December and can never finish a book!)
5) Get some cards stockpiled-yeah, never gonna happen! :rotfl2:
6) Take a class to learn a new technique (always plan to, never actually do)

Some other more personal goals,

1) Start dealing in cash. You put things on plastic and forget you did and come December your balance has gone up by $3,000! :scared: oops
1a) Paying off that $3,000 would also be nice, but with the current economy, I don't know how feasible that will be.
2) Finally hunker down and get to my goal weight. That is about 30lbs away! :scared1:
3) Do chores daily-ideally if dishes are put in the dishwasher every night and other things are put away daily, I wouldn't have to spend Sunday cleaning and I could get my scrapping goals accomplished!
4) Run a 5k in 20 minutes. There is really no reason why I cant accomplish this and it will help with the weight loss. :thumbsup2

I think we need to start a new shopping ban. If you make it to the end of each month we could get new blinkies or something. What do y'all think??

I like that idea! I added up my scrap spending for 2008 (not including my recent "stock-up -for 2009" binge) I spent $1,300. I want that under $1,000 this year! Under $500 would be better, but we have to be realistic! :lmao:

My goal will be 365. One per day.

Take a picture & journal for everyday. One for family & maybe one for the new baby for the majority of his baby book.
Get DD Chesire Cat's bits & pieces done in her baby books (like 10 pages max).
I want to be completely done w/ DS Mickey's 1st year right after his 1st b-day. So that will actually put me just into 2010.
Make an ABC albulm for DS Pluto.
Put a photo family tree on the wall in the boys' bedroom.
Work on our Disney trips.
Our pre-wedding activity albulm & our Ireland honeymoon trip albulm.

Get all my pages scanned or photoed onto discs & sent to my mommy.
Use up most of my paper supplies so I can go digital.
Scrap all family events within a week of them happening.

I'm going to make myself a list of my goals. So, when I finish one of them I can cross it off. This group has helped me feel so accomplished & successful. I can't wait to carry that over to 2009.

Don't forget about homecoming, prom, grad party, etc. Also, if you can work on getting kits together before he starts the basemant, all you'll need is adhesive, scissors, & pens. And your kits of course.

Do you want me to start one and keep up with who has made it each month? I can't make the smilies but if someone makes them I will be happy to keep tallies for everyone- as far as if they say they made it for a month or not. I don't plan on adding up everyones reciepts.

My third goal is not scrap related, but I want to get my family on a stricter budget than we have had in the past. I am tired of the "Feast or Famine" mentality we live with. We need to plan better and budget better and quit letting the money trickle away on "stuff".

I am soooooo with you on this goal. I just told my DH one of my New Years Resolutions is to stop spending on "stuff" and to embrace on the more important things in life than spending it in a store. I want to save more.

I'll go ahead and start the new one as a continuation of the 2008 BAN. It was such an inspiration for me that I definitely want to do it again. Let's talk out the smilies/clippies on the 2008 BAN thread so we can keep this on topic with goals.

Since I surpassed my goal of one page for every two days of the year, I'm going to ramp it up and try for a page a day. That puts me at 365 so I would make Journaling Genius if I achieve it. Heaven knows that I have plenty of stuff to scrap!

Here are my goals for 2009.

Scrapbooking Goals
Swap LESS!!!! - I will only achieve my page goal if I do this!
Stay on the Spending BAN - I've done really well in 2008 and I plan to continue.
Finish 2007 Life album - One layout left to be done!
Finish 2006 DL trip - Only about 15 layouts left.
Finish 2008 WDW digital Dining album
Finish 2008 WDW trip
Finish 2005 WDW trip
Start and work on pet albums
Start (and hopefully finish) 2008 Life album
Start 2009 Life album
Work on refinishing engagement photos and hopefully start digital album.
Scan in all wedding photos
Work on Junior Girl Scout album

General Crafty Goals
Can at least a half dozen jars each of Strawberry jam and Raspberry jam.
Can a year's supply of tomatoes (about 3 dozen jars)
Make a new Autumn wreath for the front door (my old one finally fell apart after 7 years)
Make a new Winter wreath for the front door.

Life Goals
Get back on budget - We have a good system that works for us when we follow it but I am always the one that hounds DH to follow it. I'm hoping to set a day every other week to sit down and update.
Exercise more - I had to really slow down because of my knee injury and I feel like my body has suffered for it. I would just like to feel healthier after a year of health problems and I'm hoping I'll have more energy.
Keep the house picked up more - If I do more day to day, I can spend less time cleaning on the weekend and more time scrapping!

I am looking to get more done in 2009 than I got done in 2008. I would like to finish my disney trips from 12/06, 9/07 and 12/08. I also want to catch up on mu current life album.
I would like to do 500 pages in 2009. I am going on a scrap weekend in January and would like to get at least 50 pages done that weekend. It would be a great start.

We had a big year this year. We retired and spent a total of 12 weeks traveling. We renovated the kitchen. We spent a LOT of money:scared1:

Goals for 2009

Stay home more.
Scrap more.
Spend less.

Maintain exercise routine.

Finish Christmas cook book.
Start and finish general cook book.
Start writing essays of my childhood. Goal 1/week.

I took the biggest step of all for me for 2009, I quit my job this past week!
I will be substituting for the preschool but I'm not afraid to say no when I dont want to work. I was there for 10years and it stopped b eing enjoyable and 3s should be enjoyed!

Creative Goals
Scrap more! Which means:
Start, complete and enjoy Italy Cruise 2007!
I will easily have 200 pages or more there! So I would like to reach Journaling Genius status.
Finish WDW 2008 trip, using swaps as much as possible.
Take 6 different classes at my scrap store and learn new techs to use for swaps.
Take part in more swaps, but only if they apply to what I need, such as no flocking but definitely the DL/DCA.
Clean and organize my craft room.

Personal Goals
I also have that last 30 ponds to lose!
Clean and organize my walk in closet so that I can walk in it again!:rotfl:
Clean and organize my part of the garage.

I will start small with what I want to accomplish because when leaving the school yesterday I was already told that they will be calling me soon!
I think I will end up working 2 days a week!

And I wanted to add that I would like to become more computer literate so that I dont always have to depend on DH to add all my cute smilies my dis friends send me and do more on the computer!

2009 goals:

-Get back to scrapping. I haven't created any pages since end of September/early October. I have tons of supplies for our Disney '08 albums and no drive to work on them. I've never been in this kind of slump.
-Specifics:
1. Complete Disney albums for 2008 trip.
2. Use as much swap stuff as possible.
3. Catch up the 2008 family album.
4. Stay current on 2009 family album.

Wow, I have had to really think about them.
Since DH died back in Sept., I've made many adjustments some of which required some major changes.
1. take more time to enjoy life as we never know how much time there is.
2. appreciate what we do have so much more
3. finish all the scrapbooks I began but put aside for the past few months - need to hang on to great memories.
4. remember to thank all the great friends who encourage and support me
5. get posting on here more often

OK, sign me up for Memories Maven.

I'm sorry but I can't participate in the money freeze as I'm too new and I don't have a ton of supplies. I just got a Circut & I just got a Xyron. And I have like no embellishments at all. I don't even know what ya'll are talking about when you discuss them. And I have tons of room as I have an entire room dedicated just to this & dh is totally supportive.

And I don't need to lose weight. Well, at least I didn't before December, ya know?

But I am a Weight Watchers leader & I'm a good budgeter. But can I still participate in those conversations even though I don't have goals as I always need support, ya know?

As for scrapping goals these are mine:

1) Finish Yellowstone
2) Start & Finish Disney 2007
3) Start & Finish Disney 2008
4) Begin a baby book for my 3rd baby (she's two & I have no photos printed!)
5) Organize & label my house with my new Cricut & vinyl

In addition to those very solid goals I have made a few rules for myself:

1) Do not obsess, do not spend over an hour an any 2 page layout.
2) Let the girls (6 & 8) scrapbook with me & keep yelling to a minimum.
3) Make gifts for others & share the love of paper & food with friends & needy.
4) Have at least 4 scrap parties where I don't scrap but just act as support for other newbies.

Those are my goals. What do you think?

Ok, I'm gonna post my goals too! Things are a bit different since I'm digital, but here goes!

I am at about 365 pages for this year, I will probably be a few short, but that is ok. I am happy with a goal of 365 for next year as well. Since I do digital, I tend jump around more, or maybe you do too, who knows... but anyway I jump around a LOT! Sam was born in 2003 and I got the 2003 book printed this year and that was a nice feeling. 2004 and 2005 are fairly bare of layouts. I started digital scrapbooking in 2006, so 2006, 2007 & 2008 are mostly done already, but not complete. So, I would like to "finish" more yearly albums. And more vacation books, I have several unfinished trips. It's a nice feeling to be done!

Goals:
about 365 pages for the year
complete at least 3 of the yearly albums
at least 1 of those years must be 2004 or 2005
complete 2 vacation albums (either WDW or other trips)

Personal goals:
Well, I need to lose weight. A lot! I was successful with WW a couple years ago, but the budget is not going to allow weekly visits to the center. I will buy a scale, dig out my WW books and write down EVERYTHING I eat! I will stay within the points allowed for my weight! I can say I will try to exercise, but I want to be realistic. Unrealistic goals never work. I hope to eventually add some exercise, but I don't anticipate that for a bit.

Thanks for the motivation! I am a list maker and will make some lists before December ends!

For me, I always lose more when I attend meetings, especially when I'm competing with my sister :lmao: . But I agree on the unrealistic goals. So if you can't go to meetings make sure you lower how much your goals are to lose each week as it will be less.

As for exercise, I lost my first 30 lbs without doing one lick of exercise. Weight loss is about 80 % food and 20 % exercise. Now, if you want to maintain your weight loss, exercise is the ticket. And of course it raises your self esteem, reduces your risk of cancer & heart disease, etc. But for straight ole weight loss (& if you have a lot to lose, losing should be your priority) I recommend following the "If you bite it you write" rule & forgetting all the other health info you know.

I know this sounds terrible but the reality is, we can't be perfect. We simply can't. And if we start to make all kinds of rules like no artificial sweeteners or only organic or exercise every day, then we get overwhelmed and quit. Much better to say, "Maybe someday I'll work on going organic (or whatever) but today I'm going to do the most important thing. Lose the weight."

You can do it. I had 5 members in 2008 who went from needing to lose over 50 lbs to being Lifetime members in just that one year. They told me this week that it is thrilling to start 2009 not saying, "I need to lose weight." You can make 2010 or 2011 the year you say that!

OK, I'm taking off my Leader hat. ;)

Thanks! I'll try not to spend outrageous amounts & make sure you all point me in the right direction so I spend intelligently (and when there are sales) on things I'll truly use. I'm a big internet shopper as my closest JoAnn's, Michael's, A.C.Moore, etc. is 45 minutes away. So if you see any online deals on things you adore, PLEASE give me the shout out! I am looking to do lots more scrappin' in 2009 than previous years. I get myself going for a couple of weeks and then stop. I have years & years of pictures that I want to get organized and scrap.

My goal is 10 pages per month. That seems small compared to some of your goals but after scrapping for 6 years off & on, I probably have a total of 50 pages altogether.

ElenitaB

I have so many scrapbooks that I want to finish, including the following:

2002 alphabet book
Our 2003 AKL stay over Halloween
Our 2004 Hurricane Frances @ BWV trip
Our 2006 DCL/OKW trip over Thanksgiving (almost done)
Our 2007 quick trip
Our 2008 trips (DCL, offsite and VWL)
My DS's Halloween album

So put me down as a Memory Maker!

And this year I intend to sell or donate a lot of my paper scrapbooking supplies, as a physical condition makes it difficult for me to manipulate the scissors, etc. Plus I don't have a dedicated scrapping space so to scrap entails a lot of moving things around, etc. I've found my niche in digi-scrapping and that's fine with me.

Hi!!

Scrapping goals!

Finish the ABC book from the 8x8 swap. Just need a few more pics and the journaling....

Help my kids use their swap items they've done/received ... maybe start a book for our 2009 trip...

photo books from 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 because until I'm somewhat caught up, the task of scrapping is just so daunting that I can't even START!

Use that monthly Karen Foster stuff that I had planned on using in 2008, when I thought for sure I'd be able to do 2 pages a month!!

Hey, did anyone see that Becky Higgins pic a day challenge in a recent CK mag?? That sounds fun....

Ebay or donate tons of scrap stuff that I will never use (and things I've had for years that I don't even realize I have!!)

Use the cricut more. It's very cool, but I've hardly used it and I'm wishing that I hadn't spent the money on it.

Personal Goals!

More fun family time!

Lose weight...

Save more, spend less!!

Increase contributions into retirement account

Pay as much as possible on credit cards

Keep up with chores

Declutter

I'm sure there's more, but that's it for now!!

Hey Ladies! :wave2:
I've lurked on these boards for awhile but now I've decided it's time to kick my scrapping into high gear and get to it! I'm hoping these boards will help keep me motivated and reach my goals considering I have a pretty big scrapping year coming up with my wedding!

So, please, put me down for Memories Maven!

Must be done by 2008:
-DFiance's Anniversary Scrapbook (almost done! About 10 pages left)

Scrapping Goals for 2009:
-Finish Senior Year of College scrapbook
-Engagement scrapbook
-Pre-Wedding scrapbook
-Disney scrapbook
-and the biggie: My Wedding Scrapbook

Nonscrapping Goals:
-Although I am an avid scrapper, I've never participated in a swap on the DIS. I'd like to do that this year!
-Become more active on the Creative Community Boards
-Of course: Scrap More, Spend Less!!

Ideally, I would like to scrap 5 pages a week so assuming my math is correct that would put me at 260 pages- Memories Maven!

Also, I'd love to be in on this Ban on Shopping! Blinkies are great motivation

Thanks for welcoming a newcomer :grouphug:

Hey Rita!
We are having an small "Escape" Disney wedding ( ). I just recently called my wedding planner and right now we are trying to get a date in December 2009. Although having an Escape Wedding requires less planning time, my planner said December '09 is almost booked already and we might have to push it to January '10. Regardless, I figure I'll have lots of Wedding Scrapping to do, considering 2 other family members are getting married this year. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the Welcome!

I am going to aim for Memory Maven!

I have soooo many projects to start and finish.

DDs school album
Xmas album - add 2008
2005 cruise album
2008 cruise album
DD9 baby album
DD1 baby album

We will start from there. Building a house and kept scrapbooking stuff out of storage so hope that will be my main free time focus. And since we are moving on to the ILs cattle ranch not much else around to distract me. Could be interesting...

For 2009, I want to finish (and start, lol) our 2008 WDW album, and I'd like to get done at least through the end of DS1's first grade year. Also I want to scrap more, which is something, I guess.

I was reading this article..need to read it again..but I just might do it.. but I will have to stamp date each photo on my camera... so much happens I'd hate to put a bb game from Jan in March...because one of the kids would be sure to point it out that I messed up!!!

I'll let you know for sure tomorrow..but I think I will do this with you!!!! :)

woo hoo! that would be fun! Did you see that the kit comes with a little date stamp? (I know that's not what you meant, but I still think that's cool!) I think I will try to upload pics every week and get them printed to be picked up at CVS (where I'm at a million times a week anyways, LOL). I'm hoping that it will be quick and easy. I'd love to do the little bit of journaling every day...or maybe the 4 of us can each write something one day and I can fill in the rest. I do like the 'no adhesive' part too!

My goals will be to do:

A scrapbook for 2008 Disney trips I am gonna include the Jan 2009 one in it
A scrapbook for our son and daughter-in-law of their wedding (she asked me to do it on Christmas )
A Scrapbook for each of our two kids of our WDW trips with them
and
A scrapbook of our Disney Adventure to Peru!

Since I MAY be having knee surgery soon I might have a few weeks of down time I will see how that goes

Here is the monthly calendar thing I'm going to use for my 2009 albums..
it's digital but I think I can adjust and get inspiration from it to make "traditional" pages..

it's taking a pic a day for 365 days...to capture every day life...and the kit has a ton of stuff...
The blog has really good descriptions as well as little video clips of Becky showing you what's included in the kit and how to use it. (there are a few entries from this week...just scroll down a bit).

Ok, I just watched the Becky Higgins' blog, and I am ridiculously excited! I went into the living room to tell DH about it, and he loves the idea, too!! I've never ordered anything from there before. When on January 1st does it become available? I'm thinking I can ring in the new year and order it!! :thumbsup2

yay!! I don't know what time yet...I'm going to keep checking the blog to see, otherwise I'll be on there right after I say "Happy New Year" to everyone! This just seems so do-able, ya know?? And I feel like I just scrap major events and not all the little stuff that I know I will want to remember (and I'll want the KIDS to remember!). I'm trying to decide if I just want one for me or if I should get one for dd10...

SIOH, want me to take this to a separate thread? I didn't mean to hijack, but I guess I did a little...!

Becky Higgins' new project sounds amazing!! I think I'll jump on the bandwagon. I have yet to watch the video that shows the contents of the kit but do you think this is do-able without buying the kit?? I don't think DFiance would be very pleased if I brought home more craft stuff.

I almost made my goal of 120 this year (9 short) so I am setting a goal for 125 this year. We already have a trip booked for May so there will be lots of new photos there.

I want to stay current on DS's album (I'm just starting Dec so not too far behind) and then I think I will go back and scrap some older stuff.

Just to continue to be creative and get new ideas :)

I am joining the challenge again this year. I like have a goal to work towards, so here goes:

-finish WDW Dec 06 album
-catch up DD's yearly album (currently at June 08...not far there)
-catch up on DD's portrait album

I wish lots of LUCK to everyone on their goals this year!!

I just barely found this board and I am so excited!

My scrapbooking goals for 2009:

1.Scrap more. Duh.
Specifically, I would like to get between 150 and 200 pages done.
2. Start and finish DH's Alaska album
3. The puppy pages. I've been dragging my feet on these. Everytime I think about doing them, she does something to make me mad so I work on something else. It got so bad my DH picked the paper. He really wants them done I guess.:rotfl:
4. Catch up on 2008. A lot happened this year and I have done very little to commerate it.
5. Take more pictures. I developed a habit of going places with people who have a camera so I don't have to take one. We've moved and I no longer have any friends close by. Time to step up to the plate.
6. Spend my scrap budget more wisely. Less Impulse!

That's it I think. Thanks for being here!

This year I want to finish my Oct '07 album. I've gone to Disney twice since then, will be going back for a few days in March, and am planning to take our 10 day Disney trip in Dec, so I can't keep falling behind on Disney trips! It would be nice to finish one of those other Disney trips this year, too, but I think that might be a tad ambitious!

I completed over 250 pages this year, so I'll set my goal a bit higher with 300 pages. It seems scary to put a number on it, though!

Oh, count me in on this one.

My goals for this year
* Finish all 2007 Vacations
* Finish all 2008 Vacations
* Start on my Book of Me
* Scrapbook for neice Emily
* Scrap/Stamp 3x a week
* 8 pages a month, 16 cards a month minimum
* Cull the extras in the studio. (I have a lot of stuff I will NEVER use - I have no idea why I bought it in the first place)

I'm going to change my goal for the year to http://www.smeechy.com/MySmilieCollection/smilie-JournalingGenius.gif Journaling Genius (300-399 pages). Considering I'm doing the Project 365 and I'm participating in the weekly DIS Digi-Scrappers Challenges, I should have no problem getting at least 150+ pages completed. And besides the goals listed above, I've got DH's birthday present in the works (his birthday was in November) and I'm planning to put together some small albums for DD's & DS's teachers before the end of the school year.

Hi all! One month down, 11 more to go. Has the other thread started yet because I didn't see it.

Anyway, here's how I'm doing:

46 pages complete in January, way more than I thought I'd do.

As for scrapping goals these are mine:

1) Finish Yellowstone: I'm about 1/4 way done.
2) Start & Finish Disney 2007:Not started.
3) Start & Finish Disney 2008: 1/2 way done and moving nice & steady.
4) Begin a baby book for my 3rd baby (she's two & I have no photos printed!): Still no photos printed
5) Organize & label my house with my new Cricut & vinyl: I've started sorting 8 years worth of clothing out. Still have lots to do on this front but am planning a yard sale in the spring so that will kick that seriously into gear.

In addition to those very solid goals I have made a few rules for myself:

1) Do not obsess, do not spend over an hour an any 2 page layout.: I'm doing excellent on this. I'm proud of my restraint.
2) Let the girls (6 & 8) scrapbook with me & keep yelling to a minimum.: Uhm, I'll admit it, there's been some yelling. But mostly we've scrapped in peace. :p
3) Make gifts for others & share the love of paper & food with friends & needy.: I gave away $200 worth of supplies (groceries/toiletries/cleaning supplies) to a friend whose dh has lost his job. And I gave away one glass etched project which I was proud of but I need to get into gear a bit more on that front.
4) Have at least 4 scrap parties where I don't scrap but just act as support for other newbies.: I'm in the planning stages of this. I hope to make progress on this this week.

On to February...

I'm going to add to this/edit for sure, but here are my starting goals.

Overall pages - 500 pages. I met this in 2008, but I don't think I'll raise it.

Scrapping/Creative Goals:
- Deal with CKC Box o' projects - finish or strip down for parts Working on it
- Print pictures and finish ABC swap album
- Finish 2008 album DONE
- Keep 2009 album up to date Because it is Project 365, I am keeping it up to date
- Catch up on travel albums - WDW 10/07, 10/08, and any trips I may take in 09 (hopefully WDW 1/09 - fingers crossed) All in progress
- Scrap high school and college High School DONE
- Scan in all childhood pictures and negatives In progress
- Continue working on park albums, using swap stash
- Wall art projects for scrap room and girls' bedrooms
- Use stash instead of shopping - reduce overall inventory of my scrap room by half Doing pretty good on this! Completely reorganized too

Personal goals:
- Continue the "be healthier" plan I've been on for a few weeks of eating better and excercising Lost 25 lbs so far, but I've been slacking on going to the gym. Need to get back in that routine.
- Increase my cooking knowledge and skill
- Get house up to snuff: paint 3 bedrooms, hang photos and wall art in those rooms, deal with the disaster that is the cellar, continue to work on decluttering rest of the house, reorganize kitchen cabinets Bedrooms done, first floor almost completely decluttered. Kitchen and cellar on deck for the summer.
- Figure out our budget and get a better handle on $$ stuff

Thanks for bumping this up! I hadn't looked at this in awhile. I'm pretty happy with my progress, but I definitely have to to get going on a few things before we get to the year's halfway point!

I think keeping all of our goals together is easier.

6. Techniques- learn/work on 6 techniquesI have to look bacck and count but I would say I am keeping up with this

8. Use up class items before Orlando Expo in May 2009still working on this one
9. Use CPS pages as possible through year- don't sign up for any groups I haven't used the pages forI have done some- I need to do more
10. Swaps- only sign up for swaps that I can use/don't already have the items in the groupI am really bad about this- I gove myseklf and bad job on this one

What a great idea. I'll be waiting to do my update for a bit. I haven't scrapped anything yet. Here's why: Its been 4 months since I had the baby. The entire time going back & forth to the doctors. Having weird swollen areas & infections, just feeling plain crumy, & being in physcical pain. All of this coming & going in different lengths of time. 2 weeks ago I went back in for surgery. The doc found 6-10 pieces of suture (I'm apparently allergic) & irritated skin in the area. They did a culture of the site. Culture came back & I have MRSA. Its a strain of bacteria that is antibiotic resistant. They never did a culture before. So, it seems that I've had this the entire time. So, I'm currently on my 4th round of antibiotics since the beginning of all this. I am feeling tremendously better & hoping to get back to the things I love.....scrapping is #1. Thanks for listening.

We were. I just changed my ressies to October 2-10 (free dining). I saved $400. Now I have an excuse to go back...I haven't been @ Christmas time. :rotfl::santa: Met w/ the doc today. She said everything looks great. I go in for a culture in 1 wk to see if the mrsa is gone. But, for the 1st time in 4 months I feel normal. :worship: Thank you all for the kind words. it has been a rough & difficult road. Thanks to GOD our littlest guy is a sweet baby. :lovestruc

Finish DH's 1st Father's Day present
I think that's a good start. Now if only I can stay focused enough to actually get these done.

I'm not doing too well on the original set of goals I set for the year, though I think I'm nearly finished scrapping the photos from DD's first trip to WDW (back in October 2007). I still have to figure out what to do about all the "stuff" collected, though. And I've done a few pages for a PC trip from last summer.

As for the updated list of goals, I pulled a few all-nighters in the last couple of weeks and completed books for both kids' teachers as well as a set of pages for DS's "Star of the Day" poster. Who would have thought I'd be staying up all night to work on projects for my 4 year old and 2 year old!!!!!

But don't ask me about my P365 album. I think I'm about 16 weeks behind on that one. :sad2:

with 2009 starting, I am going to join in on this goal setting (I just started scrapbooking in September):

Finish scrapping the following vacations:
Disney - 2000, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008 (2) - done with all but the 2008 trips
Cruises - E. Caribbean, W. Caribbean, Alaska, Mediterranean - done but a lot of work
Trips - Niagara Falls, Hershey, PA - had to cancel trip
Learn to incorporate stamping in my pages - started using stamping a bit on cards but not on pages
Spend less and use the stuff I already have more. - resistance is futile (this is HARD)
Try to attend one local crop or training each month. - so far I have been able to do this and learning a lot
Organize 6 boxes of photos and gather those together to get scanned so I can have digital versions. - finished the organization; now on to the scanning
I would like to average 2-3 pages per week. - this is hit or miss

Thought I would revisit this and see how I am doing.

I think keeping all of our goals together is easier.

This year I am going to go for completing 2 pages a day- 730 pages for the year. Since I am above that this year I think it is reachable. It puts me at Scrapping Princess.

My goals for 2009:
1. Pages: 2 pages per day/ about 70 per month-Since I have reached 1000 pages for the year this is going well
2. Swap items- use at least 30 per month/ 360 during the year- 12 (Jan/09)
3. Stash- use up items before buying more- I should only buy things I don't have and need for a specific projectdoing so so on this one
4. Cards- I am going to try and start making cards for others this year- I think my goal will be making 5 cards a month- I am going to try and use scraps for other things I am doing to make the cardsI made 5 cards (for a swap) in May and again in June and 2 cards at CHA
5. Wishblade File: 2 per month or 24 for the year- not including wordsI am getting at least 1 done a month
6. Techniques- learn/work on 6 techniquesI learned some neat oragami folds, using crackle paint, flip-flop albums, flower soft, alcohol ink on gloss, and embossing on acrylic
7. Keep scrap area organized- I have things put away in a good way (if I don't buy more) but I need to keep things put awayI suck at this but I am in the process of getting things back to useable again

9. Use CPS pages as possible through year- don't sign up for any groups I haven't used the pages forI made up about 10 pages but I need to do more of these- I plan on packing a bunch for SDV
10. Swaps- only sign up for swaps that I can use/don't already have the items in the groupI suck at this- I love swaps and the creativity of them- I did not sign up for AK though, since I had already finished that album

Scrapbooks for Others:
ABC Easter Album for Elizabethdone
ABC Easter album for Lilydone
ABC Bible Verse Album for Ethandone
ABC Bible Verse album for Joesephdone
Number album for Sis's childrendone
Number album for Sis-in-law kidsdone
Dog Album for Mother in Lawto be done at SDV
Mini Albums for wee care teachers as end of year gift (2)done

Scrapbooking for Me:not done so well- I will be packing up a number of these things for SDV and trying to get a bunch done then
1. Finish AK album- 3/31
2. Finish MK Album- 4/30
3. Scrap Labelle Youth pages- 2/28
4. Scrap Baptism for Myakka - 4/30

QUOTE=ColleenG;29094368]I don't know if I can come up with a number of pages, other than to aim for 3 a week. I really want to get to more all day crops and at least one weekend crop, like SDV. So my project goals are:

1.) Finish 2005 Disney Trip (by the end of January)check
2.) Finish 2007 Family book check
3.) Start and complete DS baby book -haven't even touched
4.) Finish and complete 2008 family book - still working on
5.) Start 2009 Family album -haven't touched
6.) Start 2007 or 2008 Disney trip- nada, zip, zilch

I've actually thought about trying some digital pages to get more pages done quicker. So hopefully DH will take the hints to get me CM's SBC+. :rolleyes1[/QUOTE]

I did probably average 3 pages a week, although there have been a lot of weeks of nothing getting done. Bring on 2010!

Okay.... since this year's goals were a bit of a joke, I guess I will be more realistic this coming year.

Well.... I haven't even come NEAR my goal. I am still working on the 10 day trip out west. I have done most all of the first 6-7 days... but I have a BOATLOAD of pictures from our 3 days at DL and I haven't even BEGUN that portion of the trip yet. That said, I didn't even KNOW about the Proj 365 when I made my goal for 2009 and that has taken up a considerable amount of my scrapping time. I have done reasonably well with it, but not great.

As far as the budget goes... we have done okay, but not great. We had a few more unexpected emergency expenses that cut into the budget a bit, so we are not where I would like to be with the emergency fund. And we DO NOT have a WDW trip planned (although DD is going in January with a school group).

Shopping ban wise, I did okay (up until this week, when I bought FOUR new cricut carts online at Joann's!! :lmao:). I have stuck with mostly the BASICS this year... cardstock, adhesive, page protectors... and just a cart or two along the way when they have been on sale... no big purchases, no new fancy albums, nothing too extravagant.

I would LOVE to have that big 2005 trip FINISHED by the end of this year. Considering the fact that almost EVERY WEEKEND is booked between now and the end of the year, I have NO Christmas shopping done, NO decorating done, and this is DH's busy time of year, I'm not sure how this would happen. But I could get off this stupid computer right now and at least make an effort! :surfweb: ........................P

One month to go!!! How is everyone doing??

:rolleyes:mmmmmmmm:flower3: Not as well as I would have liked. I'm still not sure why I petered out the last few months, but I'd really like to get some pages done this month - maybe make it to Vegas 2007 (I did get Hawaii 2007 finished, which is good) I also think I'll have to drop my goal down a level or two...I originally thought it wasn't going to be a problem to make it to 700, but it's pretty far out of reach at this point. Maybe next year!

I'm going to add to this/edit for sure, but here are my starting goals.

Overall pages - 500 pages. I met this in 2008, but I don't think I'll raise it.
I think I'll come up a little short here - close but not quite.

Scrapping/Creative Goals:
- Deal with CKC Box o' projects - finish or strip down for parts Sigh. I'll take this box to my grave with me. I did make a few dents though!
- Print pictures and finish ABC swap album DONE
- Finish 2008 album DONE
- Keep 2009 album up to date Yes - Project 365
Realized 365 wasn't enough for this year - will still end up doing a 2009 album
- Catch up on travel albums - WDW 10/07, 10/08, and any trips I may take in 09 (hopefully WDW 1/09 - fingers crossed) Disney 07 and 08 done, 09 is 75% done
- Scrap high school and college High School DONE
- Scan in all childhood pictures and negatives Barely made a dent
- Continue working on park albums, using swap stash Nope
- Wall art projects for scrap room and girls' bedrooms Nope
- Use stash instead of shopping - reduce overall inventory of my scrap room by half May have done this at one point, but now it's overflowing again

Personal goals:
- Continue the "be healthier" plan I've been on for a few weeks of eating better and excercising Did really good until the summer, then totally fell off the wagon
- Increase my cooking knowledge and skill Didn't happen
- Get house up to snuff: paint 3 bedrooms, hang photos and wall art in those rooms, deal with the disaster that is the cellar, continue to work on decluttering rest of the house, reorganize kitchen cabinets Did almost everything on that list
- Figure out our budget and get a better handle on $$ stuff Never did do the budget

I'm mostly content with my goals. Scrapping-wise I met about half my goals. I did really good with the house, not so great with other life stuff. Rolling some of these into 2010.

I haven't posted on this thread in forever. Kinda forgot I ever put anything in real writing! I didn't make my 200 page goal. However, having the goal made me work really hard and I've done about 135. And I've got everything 2/3 of the way sorted and am ready with my 2010 goals.

 Oh well.... I tried. I am currently on day 6 of that 10 day trip out West, for both kids' books. So I am a FULL YEAR behind my scrapping goal. But I have been making steady progress. Plus I set this goal before I got caught up in the whole "Project 365" thing! So I spent lots of time on that project that I hadn't foreseen when I set this goal.

The $$ situation is no better/no worse. We still trickle away money that we shouldn't. oh well.

I will be taking a realistic look at my scrapping goals for 2010 before I post them. I forgot to count my pages for the year before I headed to my Mom's, so I am not sure where I ended the year, page count wise...........P

with 2009 starting, I am going to join in on this goal setting (I just started scrapbooking in September):

Finish scrapping the following vacations:
Disney - 2000, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008 (2) DONE
Cruises - E. Caribbean, W. Caribbean, Alaska, Mediterranean DONE
Trips - Niagara Falls, Hershey, PA TRIP CANCELLED

Learn to incorporate stamping in my pages INCORPORATED INTO CARDS

Spend less and use the stuff I already have more. NOT SO MUCH

Try to attend one local crop or training each month. EVERY OTHER MONTH

Organize 6 boxes of photos and gather those together to get scanned so I can have digital versions. ALL PHOTOS SORTED AND MANY SCANNED ~2000

I would like to average 2-3 pages per week. BY THE END OF OCTOBER, I HAD 385 SO I BEAT THIS ONE

Now on to 2010

I'm going to change my goal for the year to http://www.smeechy.com/MySmilieCollection/smilie-JournalingGenius.gif Journaling Genius (300-399 pages). Considering I'm doing the Project 365 and I'm participating in the weekly DIS Digi-Scrappers Challenges, I should have no problem getting at least 150+ pages completed. And besides the goals listed above, I've got DH's birthday present in the works (his birthday was in November) and I'm planning to put together some small albums for DD's & DS's teachers before the end of the school year.

I'm happy to say I'm a http://www.smeechy.com/MySmilieCollection/smilie-MemoriesMaven.gifMemories Maven! I actually completed 200 pages by the skin of my teeth. And I have a few pages in the works as a head start for this year. So I didn't make my goal of 300, but I did surpass my original goal that I set for the year of 100 pages.
