I was reading over on the Disney boards about how crowded the parks have been since Thanksgiving. Has this also been the case for Universal parks too...Has anyone been that can post what kinda waits they have seen for rides?

there have been some recent threads with the same question as yours.

for now to close to Christmas, i have read the park is manageable.

this thread states the crowds are great from christmas to new years.

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2026143

crowds drop down around jan. 2-3.

the park opens early (8:00) during the christmas week.

I think I read one of the OPs other posts and they are headed there the end of next week. I remember because that is when I am going too. The links refer more to Christmas week.

I wonder if Disney is crowded right now because of Pop Warner? Let's hope that is the case. The unoffical site says Disney should be a 4 out of 10 crowd level wise on the 18 and 19 and pick up a lot each day thereafter. I would think Universal should follow suit?

Before Christmas is usually quiet. Afterward is busy.

ok, thanks for the heads up on the OP.

i hate to see a post go unanswered so i tried to help out with the op's question.

i wasn't sure of the dates they were going so i tried to give some generic links in case that would help.

it is easier to have people answer the posts if they have dates in mind and not a general time period, i guess.

i looked at the pop warner site and their schedule.
i think they will be there for a few more days.
this time the pop warner youths are in 3 different resorts which makes a full house for those resorts.

the resorts will be packed where they are staying but the parks should not be too affected. the teams do their competitions during the day and away from the parks.

i have a friend at disney right now and she said the line waits are not good at the MK. that surprised me as this time period generally is not a heavy crowd period in the parks. the touring guide has been fairly accurate for park crowd levels in the past.

universal's crowd level is very high once it is Christmas. it stays that way thru new years eve.

this is only a guess, but from what i have been reading on the boards and on other message boards, the crowds at universal are ok at this point.
weekdays will have lighter crowds than weekends as it is at disney.

you might be correct in saying that the level for universal could start to increase around the 19th.

i have not been to disney or universal in the week prior to christmas and up to nye.

too many people for me....

Hmm, if Pop Warner doesn't usually affect crowd level, but your friend said MK was crowded maybe the free dining they offered for early December has increased crowds right now? Sounds like something has and the unoffical site is off this time.

I sure hope things quite down before we go on the 18 and 19 and unoffical is right about those days. I'm glad to read that you think Universal isn't bad right now.

I agree about Christmas and NYE crowds. Too much for me. I prefer off season, and am hoping I can beat the crowds a bit this December. I did do New Year's Day one year. It is my son's birthday and I just had to do it once. It really wasn't bad. We went in early (everyone else was still sleeping after partying for New Year's Eve) took a long afternoon break, then used extra magic hours with an empty park until 1 or 2AM.

I am sorry i didnt post any dates but i was wondering about crowds at this moment like last week or now...Just trying to get an idea of what I am up against. We usually go this week we are in now but this year we are not going till next week leaving on Sat....

I have read how crowds are high at Disney right now and since thanksgiving so I was just wondering if Universal is following suit...

Hey Chris...what part of Charleston do you live...We live right outside Charleston near Moncks Corner

universal parks have been fine crowd wise so far now that thanksgiving is past.

from what i have been reading, universal should be ok crowd wise up to the 18-19th of this month. things can always change but it should still be a good week for you there. there are more unusually large crowds at disney now but not at universal. (meaning this week)

try to avoid the weekends if you have that option.
less people in the parks on the week days.

thanks for being understanding that i answered your first question without knowing the dates. i hope i made up for it now since we are talking about next week and not christmas week.

i answered another newbie on the universal threads last night and got flamed for giving a generic type of reply to that op's question.
