Not sure which area I should post this, so I thought I would start here.

My husband wants me to make Hot Crab dip as one of the appetizers for Xmas eve. We were at a local restaurant and ordered it and he fell in love with it. I have already told him that there is no way it would be the same, but he wants me to make some type of crab dip (to use with little bread slices).

Can someone help!!??

Do you mean hot as in warm or hot as in spice? Did it have a cream cheese or sour cream base?

We make one with:
cream cheese - 1 container whipped
Chopped green onion - to taste (I use 3 or 4)
crab meat
Cayenne Pepper - to taste

Simple but good!

Hot Crab dip ??? :rotfl2: So, do you think if you make a Hot Dip you can convince the crabby people to get in ?

A man walks into a restaurant and asks, "Do you serve crabs here ?"

MMMMMMMMM!!!! Hot crab dip! I grew up in Annapolis, MD and there isn't much I love more than hot crab dip! Here is my own personal recipe:

1/2 stick of butter
2 8oz pkgs of cream cheese, softened
1/4 C. minced onion
1/2 C. Sour cream
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/3 C. white wine or cooking sherry
1 lb. crab meat, picked through
Old Bay to taste
1/4 C. Cheddar cheese, grated

Melt butter on high in a crock pot. Add onions and cook until soft. Add cream cheese and mix until all are melted together. Add wine, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce and stir. Gently fold in crab meat. Gradually add Old Bay to taste. After its all hot, reduce heat to low and cover the dip in grated cheddar cheese and serve!
