I organized a trip for DS26 & his new fiance and they just returned yesterday. One of their adrs was a lunch at Tusker House (I had one for Yak & Yeti and changed my mind!;) ). DS has been to WDW many times (but not in the last 3 years), and this was his fiance's first trip.

Their FAVORITE meal was this buffet lunch!! (And they ate well :goodvibes : Prime Time Cafe, Le Cellier, Liberty Tree Tavern, Raglan Road, Citricos, Beaches & Cream, and Mythos at IOA)

We're going in less than two weeks and DS insists we go to Tusker House!! They couldn't believe how good all the food was and the price was right!! :cloud9:

I am soooo happy to hear this. We booked it for our upcoming trip. What swayed us was the free reserved seating for Nemo. We think the menu looks great. However, I have been wondering if I should book Yak and Yeti instead. It's so hard to choose!

Thanks for responding! I posted this review and when no one even commented, I was reluctant to post any more......:confused3

I can tell you that they both absolutely loved Tusker House and would strongly recommend it! :cool1:

Here's another confirmation that you should go with Tusker House--we hated Yak and Yeti!

I didn't like the food at Y&Y either and we've tried. My DD loves rice and this is one of the few restaurants that serves rice. I've been there 4 times and have yet to get something I liked. My DH gave up after the first try and he orders the sweet and sour chicken with rice and swaps my DD for her cheeseburger.

For those who don't like Yak & Yeti, do you typically enjoy Asian food? I'm just wondering what it is you don't like. The photos look amazing.

OP, I'm not sure why nobody responded initially to your thread. I was wondering that myself.

I was wondering about the food. Is any of it comparable to what they serve at Boma? We absolutely loved our dinner there.

We all love Asian food and all eight of us said, "Never again!" to Y&Y. We liked Nine Dragons a lot more if that tells you anything...

I love both Asian and Indian food. I just don't like "bad" food.:rotfl: I'll be specific. I think the fried rice is bland. The lettuce cups describe minced chicken, maple tamarind sauce but it was more like a chicken salad made with too much of the sauce. The stir fried vegtables were shredded and watery and I think something I got topped with peanuts the peanuts were stale. The egg roll is small and not filled all of the way and had cheapy ingredients.

We just happened to get right into Tusker House with no ADR and it was GREAT! One of our best meals and I am super picky! So much better than Crystal Palace - which was HORRIBLE!!!! Such a waste - even the character experience there was not good - Tigger skipped 3 tables (we were all there) and then refused to come back and had a serious attitude. We even heard him say "How many pictures do you want, man!" to a father taking a picture with his kids.

I've been looking for a place to take my husband and kids for lunch when we go in March 2009. Is the food at Tusker House similar to the Boma food? They LOVED Boma! That way we can still stay at the park and not have to travel all the way to the AKL.

That's pretty shocking as the characters are not supposed to be able to speak at all--only their handlers...:scared1:
