Annual Pass Caution

Be sure not to purchase the annual pass until you are ready to use it. You can purchase the vouchers and turn them in when you arrive, but it might be better just to wait until you are ready to head into the parks on the first day....
They now start the day they are purchased, not the day you first use them.

This is not correct. If you buy an annual pass voucher, the clock starts ticking on it the day it is activated. We did this last fall, so we know this to be true.

However - If you renew your annual pass, the year starts as soon as your original pass expires. In other words, it picks up where the previous year left off. That's why this is confusing.

Jimbo is right. It is only the renewal that starts ticking! Vouchers don't go into effect until they are used the first time.

I guess that I am thirding the fact that Jimbo is right. I correct people on this all the time, family, friends, other boards, just all the time.

Vouchers are fine to hold, the AP year does not start until the first time you use it.

Renewels start on the expiration date of the old pass.
